Rocky gets a prison-block makeover in Undisputed, and the generic combination packs a vicious one-two punch. Owing much to the macho, gut-busting B movies of Hollywood's golden age, this no-nonsense drama gets right down to business, beginning when heavyweight champ "Iceman" Chambers (Ving Rhames) enters Sweetwater prison on a rape charge. The prison has a boxing program, and convicted killer Monroe Hutchen (Wesley Snipes) is the 10-year undefeated champion. A challenge bout is coordinated by an aging mobster prisoner (Peter Falk) and the head guard (Michael Rooker), and Undisputed pummels its way to its brutal and unpredictable conclusion. Colorful characters abound (foul-mouthed Falk is the hilarious standout), and seasoned director Walter Hill (coscripting with his Alien partner David Giler) brings them together with invigorating focus. There's not an ounce of fat on this tough-minded movie, and even its inevitable outcome seems freshly unexpected. Obviously inspired by Mike Tyson's ill-fated escapades, Undisputed turns fact into potent cellblock fiction. --Jeff Shannon

Michael Jai White replaces Ving Rhames in Undisputed II: Last Man Standing, a sequel to the 2002 Undisputed, in which a heavyweight champion boxer is sent to prison as a ruse to get him to fight a champion pugilist on the slammer circuit. White is serviceable as "Iceman" Chambers, this time arrested in Russia (framed for drug possession) and sent to hard time in a horrible prison. There Iceman resists efforts to convince him to fight a champion kickboxer (Scott Adkins), but the system is determined to break him or get him to cooperate with the plan. This brutal adventure is pretty much by-the-numbers as follow-up features go, but it is generally exciting, and martial arts buffs will certainly enjoy the taut action sequences. --Tom Keogh

Description

Sequel to the 2002 film. This time, Heavyweight Champ George "Iceman" Chambers (White) is sent to a Russian jail on trumped-up drug charges. In order to win his freedom he must fight against the jailhouse fighting champ Uri Boyka (Adkins) in a battle to the death. This time he is not fighting for a title, he is fighting for his life!

5 out of 5 stars Great Movie.......2007-06-11

I really love the action in this movie. Some of the language however, is a little over the top. The purchasing experience was wonderful. Fast shipment and the condition was just as advertised.

5 out of 5 stars superb.......2007-05-22

just like every other reviewer here, i was surprised by how good this movie was. i was in awe while watching how quick these fighters moved and i was extremely glad that someone recommended this to me because i wouldn't have even thought twice about it.

not much to say about the plot other then it has been done to death by other movies. don't let that discourage you, it's still well worth a watch. the only thing that i wished was different was that it wasn't a sequel to the first undisputed. the character differences of Iceman were unbelievably noticeable and that is why i would like to make it clear that i rated this movie as a movie all on it's own, not as a sequel. there were no references to the first one and if it weren't for the name of the champ as well as the movie title, you wouldn't even know they were one in the same.

4 out of 5 stars U II.......2007-03-21

I enjoyed this movie. I only bought it because of White, but it was not the greatest but pretty OK for entertainment.

3 out of 5 stars Undisputed II'Last man standing.......2007-03-09

A lot of action. All fights, axcept the final, were intence.

2 out of 5 stars undisputed 2.......2007-03-09

A pretty good movie, it was definetly better than I expected it to be, good enough for me to submit a review about it.

When the world's heavyweight champion (Rhames) is sent to prison, everything points to an inevitable showdown with the penitentiary's undefeated champ (Snipes). But to make sure the meeting will happen, a former mob boss (Peter Falk -- TV's COLUMBO, CORKY ROMANO) must call in favors from the outside world. Then the battle is on ... and the action, adrenaline, and intensity switch into high gear! Also featuring Master P (RHYME & REASON, I GOT THE HOOK-UP) and Ed Lover (RIDE) -- this powerfully entertaining motion picture is another crowd-pleaser from the hit-making director of 48 HRS., ANOTHER 48 HRS., and LAST MAN STANDING!

3 out of 5 stars If You Need This DVD, Buy It For Less Than $5.00!.......2007-02-04

Like I said, if you need this DVD, make sure you get a cheap used copy. The story & theme is a rehash of other movies, but if you take this movie with a grain of salt (In other words...don't have HIGH expectations!!), you might enjoy it. Welsey Snipes & Ving Rhames together in a boxing / prison movie with a touch of Mafia...the mere thought is laughable (so is the fairy tale "he lived happily ever after" ending!! LOL), but I found the movie mildly entertaining, and shoot the price was right. On a scale of 1-5, I give the movie 2.5 stars, but it's not bad for the price. Let's hope 'Undisputed 2' is much better...that shouldn't be too hard!
Peace, SD

4 out of 5 stars I really like this movie...........2004-08-25

Okay, i first saw this movie on cable and since they keep showing it every couple of months, i've probably seen it a total of 4 times. And i have to say...I really like this movie. I'm not a boxing fan, nor am i a fan of prison movies, but there's something about watching Wesley Snipes' understated performance as Huchens that captures my attention. I also enjoyed the side characters (Falk as Mendy is hilarious) and it's their interaction with one another (Snipes and his sidekick Ratbag...lol...Rhames and his cellmate...what's his name?... bad guy from Last Mohicans...oh yeah...Studi) that really make the movie. Needless to say, i don't want to wait for cable to show it again, i'm gonna buy the *^%$! DVD.

4 out of 5 stars starightforward and entertaining.......2004-08-24

A straightforward movie of the usual Hillbent-men who are men, but not undercomplicated, in situations that test them. Although it might be argued that the Snipes character is the "good guy", there really is no full on bad guy. Rather, you have a wonderful muddle of ambiguous characters. The sidekicks are interesting in that each seems better suited not for who he is paired up with, but for that opponent of that pairing. Though I recommend the film, I am reminded in watching it that Rhames is no actor; he offers the same flat I-must-be-cool approach to his roll in this film as he did in Pulp Fiction or Mission Impossible or Dark Blue.

4 out of 5 stars Highly entertaining........2004-05-03

Looking over several of the poor reviews is rather surprising, unless you hate the violence promoted by boxing. This is a really good boxing movie. You have a Mike Tyson-like character who winds up in prison duking it out with a modest hard lifer in a real prison with hundreds of real convicts for extras. It's interesting to watch from 2 perspectives, boxing itself and prison. However, it's definitely a movie for the guys.

4 out of 5 stars Fast paced action drama, no it's best presentation.......2004-04-22

This has got to be the most obvious movie you will ever watch as the fights and outcomes, court hearing, prison moves from Rhames and Snipes, not their best movie though, they've did some great ones like Ving in 'Pulp Fiction' and Snipes in 'The Fan'.
Although the realistic fight at the end between reigning prision champ, Snipes and Challenger and former Heavyweight Champion of the world accused of rape, was worth the 1 1/2 hour watch. Some of the storylines in this movie is a bit zany and unauthorised charecters that make apearences in this movie enter then suddenly vanish from the script. If this movie took long enough to make with the fluential budget ammount and great cast of charecters, it would've made a name.

5 out of 5 stars WWE Vengeance 2001.......2006-06-30

Scotty 2 Hotty & Albert vs Test & Christian
This match was alot boring. The referee allowed too much tag team interfearence. Otherwise, Albert picks up the victory for him and Scotty 2 Hotty with a powerbomb 2/5
Winner: Albert & Scotty 2 Hotty

Edge(Champion) vs William Regal for the Intercontinental Championship
This match was better than I thought. In the beggining Regal hits Edge on the ring post. There is a lot of high risk manuvers in the match. In the middle of the match Edge speats the steel steps. Regal tries to hit Edge with the bronx knuckles but Edge hits the spear. 3/5 Winner and still Intercontinental Champion Edge

Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy Lita Special Guest Referee
This was one of the best matches. Jeff Hardy does a lot of moves from the top rope. One time Matt Hardy catches him with a slam on the back. When Jeff Hardy goes to the top again and Matt Hardy tries to stop him but he gets slammed on his face and Jeff Hardy hits the Swantoon. Matt Hardy gets his foot on the bottom rope but Lita was only looking at the shoulders of Matt Hardy
Winner: Jeff Hardy

Dudely Boyz w/ Stacy Keibler(Champions) vs Big Show & Kane
This was an awsome match. There were alot of near falls. Kane jumps from the top rope to the outside and Big Show strips her to her pannies. Then he spanks her. The Dudleys catch Big Show off guard and hit him with a catapult onto the exposed turnbuckle
3/5 Winner and still tag team champions The Dudley Boyz

Rob Van Dam(Champion) vs Undertaker for the Hardcore Championship
This match starts off in the crowd. Undertaker pushes the rail on the face of Rob Van Bam to start choking him. Rob Van Dam shoots some os the fluid of the fire extinguisher on Undertaker then he hits him with a trash can. Next Rob Van Dam jumbs from the seats above the exit sign and hits a croosbody. Undertaker hits Rob Van Dam's head on the screen on the entrance stage and tries for the lastride. Rob Van Dam reveres it and Undertaker gets hit with rolling thunder. Then gets hit with the Vandaminator. Then the Undertaker chokeslams Rob Van Da through the stage. 4/5
Winner and new Hardcore Champion Undertaker

Trish Stratus(Championship) vs Jacqueline for the Womens Championship
Trish Stratus keeps on getting kicked and backbody dropped. Then she gets the chick kick reversed. Next she gets slammed on her face. Trish Stratus hits a back slide and wins the match 2/5
Winner and still the Womens Champion Trish Stratus

Kurt Angle vs Steve Austin(champion) for the WWF Championship
There are a lot of suplexes in this match. Austin gets hit with a low blow and Angle hits the Angle Slam. Then he tries to hit the Stone Cold Stunner but instead Austin hits it. 4/5
Winner and still WWF Champion Steve Austin

The Rock vs Y2J
This was a good match. The Rock hits a DDT through a table and Vince tries to make The Rock loss after he goes for the People
's Elbow. Y2J gets a low blow and hits the Rock Bottom 5/5
Winner and new World Champion Y2J

Steve Austin vs Y2J
This match starts off with a Rock Bottom to Y2J and a chair shot to Austin. There is a lot of ring post shots and there is suplexes on the concreate floor. At the end Steve Austin hits Vince and gives Y2J The Walls of Jericho. Whilw Jericho is taping Booker T hits Austin with the title belt and Y2J wins 5/5
Winner and new Undisputed Champion Y2J

1. Scott 3 hotty and albert vs. test and christian- This was basicly just a filler match. No storyline at all but it got the crowd into it and kept a preaty good pace for the match. I always notice that scotty gets his partners involved which hypes up the crowd. Decent opener. Winners scotty and albert. Match Rating 6/10.

2. Edge vs. William Regal for the ITC title- This was an average match. I think that they let this match run a little bit to long. It was good intensity for a while but then most of the match was worked on edges arm. Still decent and was passable for a title match but i know these two could have done alot better. Winner and still ITC champ edge. Match Rating 7/10.

3. Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy- I really enjoyed this match. I wish the fued would have lasted a little bit longer after the match but during it played a perfect storyline. It was a fast paced match and the wwe gave these two enough time to work out a good match. SOme good intensity by both men but it was slowed down by working on jeffs leg. A wierd ending to the match but i understand waht the wwe was thinking. Good match. Winner jeff hardy. Match Rating 8/10.

4. Big Show and kane vs. the dudleys for the tag team titles- This was an average tag team match. I think that it was a nice idea to put kane and the big show as a team. It was more funny at times in the match but it was still average. I thought that the big show and kane were going to win. Nothing much to sya except it was a soilid tag match. Winners and still wwe tag team champs the dudleys. Match ARting 6.5/10.

5. Undertaker vs. Rvd for the hardcore title- This was a really good match. I knew it was a good idea to have these two in a match when they can bring so much to the table. There were not as many hardcore spots as i thought there were going to be but some good stuff. A really nice dive by rvd from the balcony onto taker. Some nice chair shots in this match by rvd and a really nice ending to the match when rvd was chockeslammed off the stage through 2 tables. Winner and new wwe hardcore champ the undertaker. Match Rating 8.5/10.

6. Trish vs. Jackilan for the womens title- This was just a match to slow the crowd down after that hardcore match. Both of these divas have alot of talent but i just could not get into this match at all. Maybe just me. Winner and still wwe womens champ trish. Match Rating 5.5/10.

7. Stone Cold vs. Kurt angle for the wwe title- This was not as good as there previous match like the one they had at summerslam but it was still very good. Austin and angle can always bring alot to the table. Not as much of near falls as i was hoping. There was a nice spot were we got to see angles moonsault. Not the decision i was hoping for and i wish the match would have lasted a little bit longer. Still goo. Winner and still wwe champ stone cold steve austin. Match Rating 7.5/10.

8. Y2J vs. The Rock for the WCW title- This in my opinion was better than the austin rock match which surprised me. It was just faster paced and was more intense. A really different ending than i was expecting. Some nice spots in this match one of them occuring with a ddt through the announce table. Some more near falls than the other but the ending was kind of weak but it surprised me which is a good thing. Winner and new WCW champ Y2J. Match Rating 9/10.

9. Stone Cold vs. Y2J for the undispuited title- This was a nice way to end the ppv. It was started right after the jerico match and started good with a chair shot and a rock bootom. It picked up from there with just some good wrestling and it continued for the rest of the match. proboly could have been a little bit better but it was a good main event and the ending surprised me. Winner and undisputed champ Y2J. Match Rating 8/10.

Well that raps up another. I would give vengence 2001 a grade of 66/90 which is a 73% which means this is an awsome ppv. I think that is fair to say. It did not have a bad match on the whole card and we made a little bit of history as weel. If you can tell me if my review was helpful or not. Thanks for your time.

5 out of 5 stars Definition; Accepted without question!.......2007-06-11

This was something personal. Chuck Liddell got his butt handed to him, courtesy of Randy. Tito basically stepped down as champion. And after Randy beat Liddell, he had something to say about this match against Tito. "To be considered the champion, you have to fight the number 1 contender, and he wasn't willing to do that. He knows in his heart why he wouldn't fight Chuck, and uh, and he's gotta live with that. Tito, who is never at a loss for words, offers a simple response. "I am no coward. I'm not afraid of no man." To boot, after his victory, Randy sent a message out to Tito, with belt in hand, "TITO! I don't know if you're in the house, baby. But if you want this belt, you're gonna have to come in here and take it!!" That's a message being delivered! Also is The Battle of the Giants, which features Tim Sylvia defending his title against Gan McGee. They were never featured in the intro with comments. THIS is UFC 44. So who will remain UNDISPUTED? This was great! The fights were awesome. You usually can't say that with every fight in a UFC event. So, with that said, I'll list the fights below.

Caol Uno vs. Hermes Franca: This appears as if Uno will control the fight. BTW, yes it really is Caol, not Carl! Ok? But anyway, this fight ends in round 2. Hey, Hermes Franca always comes to bring it on against his opponent. Impressive victory!

Jeremy Jackson vs. Nick Diaz: The news in this was that these 2 had met twice before. Diaz knocked out Jackson, then Jackson knocked out Diaz. Both were in the first round. Part 3 occurs in the octagon! This almost goes 3 rounds. Somewhat of a chess match, and ends with a submission before the 3rd round ends.

Josh Thomson vs. Gerald Strebendt: Jiu Jitsu against "The Punk." This is a quick knock out in the 1st. Nice and quick!

Dave Strasser vs. Karo Parisyan: This is where Karo makes his UFC debut. Judo expert, and bringing the heat, you probably know who takes this in the first round! Sometimes a pain, but always an entertaining fight with Karo Parisyan! Knows how to make a fight out of it.

Rich Franklin vs. Edwin Dewees: Dewees came to fight, but you REALLY have to come to fight when taking on Rich. How will this one end? Pretty quickly! Yep, 1st round.

David Louiseau vs. Jorge Rivera: This is a flat out good fight! This does go the distance, and it makes you wonder what would've happened with 10 additional seconds...literally! It is a unanimous decision.

Tim Sylvia vs Gan McGee: Ok, Tim Sylvia, Champion is 6'8", 262 pounds, and Gan McGee is 6'10" weighing 265 pounds. That's over 500 pounds colliding! No wonder they call this, "The Battle of The Giants!" This ends with a quick knock out. Foot note: Unfortunately, this was where Sylvia was sited for controlled substances, and he had to relinquish this particular title. But, in saying that, it was a lesson learned, and he earned the title once again when he fought in UFC 59. Sylvia never needed that crap, he's won the belts without it!

Andrei Arlovski vs. Vladimir Matyushenko: Consider this the battle of Belarus! But is this really a battle when it happens to be Arlovski vs. "that other Russian fighter from Belarus"? Probably not, but you didn't hear that from me. It ends pretty quickly.

Tito Ortiz vs. Randy Couture: Well, here it is. Quite frankly, Tito showed, but Tito couldn't handle it. To Tito's credit, it did go the distance, ALL 5 ROUNDS! But he got spanked, plain and simple. Don't believe me? Watch the fight.

For that matter, watch the whole DVD. This is one great night of fights! Enjoy it, and you'll agree that this is an awesome evening in the octagon, and THAT'S UNDISPUTED!!

5 out of 5 stars Great matches, 9 fights on this DVD!.......2006-09-08

Here are the matches:

CARL UNO VS. HERMES FRANCA-great match, I cannot give anything away about this but it has a spectacular ending.

JEREMY JACKSON VS. NICK DIAZ-now Jeremy Jackson can SERIOUSLY throw. Can Nick Diaz get him on the ground?

GERALD STREBENDT VS. JOSH THOMPSON-absolutely insane match. One guy cetrtainly got what he deserved trying like 5 submission attempts in the first minute or so.

KARO PARISYAN VS. DAVID STRASSER-this was a decent match. You can tell that KAro is going to be a really good fighter.

DAVID LOISEAU VS. JORGE RIVERA-another epic battle with Rivera.

RICH FRANKLIN VS. EDWIN DEWEESS-pretty funny match. I am sure by looking at the names you can guess who wins this one.

VLADIMIR MATYUSHENKO? VS. ANDREI ARLOVSKI-how the hell was Vladimir favored to win this?

TIM SYLVIA VS. DAN MGHEE-this is the one where Sylvia tested positive for steroids. He certainly looks ripped.

RANDY COUTURE VS TITO-I don't want to give anything away but this match left me with a huge smile on my face.

Same behind the scenes stuff as the other DVD's. This one goes a bit more in depth on the weigh-ins.

5 out of 5 stars Tito Ortiz vs Randy Couture.......2006-04-20

Tito is a big mouth who likes to initmidate his opponents. Matt once called Trigg bi-polar, I think Tito might be the same as well though I know that he is a showman and find him an attractive character. When Tito is introduced he walks right into Randy's face. Randy being experienced and aware of Tito's personality, is not moved as he diffuses him by touching his gloves. Randy dominates Tito in the first and the second after which Tito trys to butter Randy up by telling him something after the round but Randy pays him no attention. Randy knows that once he gave Tito recognition he would become confident and undermine him. Tito also wants to probably save face. Everyone who was interviewed was in favor of Tito. Randy goes on to dominate Tito for every round and slamming him from mid-air two times. Randy used Liddel's own style against him in UFC 43 and he said that even though Tito said he wanted to stand toe to toe he knew that he was just trying to throw him off. This time he gave Tito a does of his own medicine, in Joe Rogans' words. At the end of the fight Randy actually spanks Tito when he had him pinned to the ground. Being Captain America Randy gives Tito recognition for his efforts. Tito being embarassed and having his foot shoved into his mouth begins to fake a little crying to probably gain some sympathy. When the winner is announced Tito points to Randy to steal some attention with his "false" good nature. The UFC was fresh and something exciting until I saw all the blood and guys looking like they got chopped with axes from the hits as in the Belfort knee to the head of Eastman. When you see a guy get mounted and pounded but only flops around as blow after blow bloodies his face, like Couture did to Liddel, no matter how much of punk or how much you hate the guy, it is heart wrenching. With all the bologna on TV and in our society I can understand why guys would turn to a sport that is real but I would have to say that the UFC may be too much as in the fight where Mir broke Sylvia's arm when he would not tapout.

5 out of 5 stars "The Natural" is our hero.......2006-03-29

Date: September 26, 2003
Location: Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada

This is another exciting and entertaining UFC event. One of the best fight cards in recent years, in fact. We get to see some good matchups and some rising stars in the UFC. Rich Franklin, called "the next big thing" in the middleweight division, fights Edwin Dewees. Dewees, no doubt, came to fight on this night, but Franklin is simply overwhelming.

David "The Crow" Louiseau then faces Jorge Rivera. Louiseau came from Canada with much hype behind him and he had been making a name for himself here - but this fight goes the distance, as the fighters seem to be quite evenly skilled. It's right down to the wire at the decision.

Next was the battle of the giants. Tim Sylvia, at 6'8 took on Gan McGee, at 6'10. These were the two largest men ever to fight for the UFC heavyweight championship. People were expecting a clash of the titans, but the fight does not quite deliver in terms of longevity. It all ends pretty quickly.

On the subject of heavyweights, you've got to mention the rising star, Andrei Arlovski. Here he fights veteran Vladimir Matyushenko. Arlovski clearly has dominating striking ability, speed and power. He makes a serious case for a title shot. He has very impressive skills and he appears to be very well-rounded. This is a heavyweight that moves like a lightweight... something we don't get to see all that often.

In the main event of the evening, after a night already packed with great fights, reigning champion Tito Ortiz takes on interim champion, Randy Couture. When Ortiz stepped away, Couture battled and defeated Chuck Liddell, the contender Ortiz had refused to fight, for whatever reason. On this night, Couture shows that his championship is indeed for real. He continually takes Ortiz down almost completely at will and batters him straight through the fight. He gives Tito a strong taste of his own medicine, treating him exactly as Tito has treated so many of his past opponents- taking them down and using the ground & pound effectively. Randy Couture is a truly inspirational athlete and MMA figure. The fans unanimously predict Ortiz will win this fight - yet by the end of the bout, the crowd cheers "Randy, Randy...". The fight is perfectly capped in the last round. Randy has Tito pinned upside-down in the corner, Tito is trying to escape or apply an ankle hook and Randy spanks him on the @ss as if to say "I'm not giving this up yet... I'm not passing any torch to you tonight"... Beautiful!

There are some great behind-the-scenes bonus features included on the DVD. Highly recommended!

4 out of 5 stars ONLY ONE CAN BE UNDISPUTED .......2006-02-18

This is was a very memorable UFC, there were about 3 good matchups that will keep your eyes glued to the screen. The championship battle between Tito and Couture was well-worth it, they both back up the hype and brought it.

Franklin, Loiseau, Arlovski, Sylvia, Tito, and Couture are the big names on this card... overall it was a good, solid DVD!
