Originally broadcast as a three-part episode that concluded the second season of the Justice League animated series, Starcrossed: The Movie offers not only an exciting adventure for the collected DC Comics superheroes, but a major shakeup within the JL lineup that changed the series' subsequent seasons. Hawkgirl and her relationship with John Stewart/Green Lantern is the focus of the feature, in which the alien heroine is forced to choose between her human love and her responsibility to her home planet when an invasion force is dispatched to Earth, and her Justice League partners--Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter and the Flash--must stop it. A solid 68 minutes of animated action for fans of the original comic books and the series, which subsequently changed its title to Justice League Unlimited and introduced other DC characters to the JL lineup after these episodes were aired. The Warner Bros. DVD offers several supplemental features, including cast and filmmaker interviews. --Paul Gaita

Great Product.......2007-03-13
Just as Described.
No problems getting it.
Fun Movie..
Kids into Comics will love it....
Nice But Has Some Adult Themes.......2007-03-05
Starcrossed is a very good justice League episode. But there are also adult themes in this episode.
Love Triangle: john stewart and Hro Talak have a love for Shayera Hol. This is a most importent adult theme to notice.
War: The Thanagarians battleing the Gordanians is violent and sad. How ever, Sensible kids might get scared.
Invasion: Thanagerian warriors walk around the streets of earth like nazis and it's like a reanactment of the nazis invading Poland.
Human work force: the Thanagarians have humans finish the hyperspace bypass as slaves. This may be offending for holocaust survivors.
Betrayal: Shayera Hol exploited the leagues weaknesses and revealed their watch tower access code. She also betrayed her own alien race by saving the people of earth. bad example for younger kids.
Hunger for power: Kragger is always doubting Shayera Hol by stating she's been on earth to long. He also wants to rule beside Hro Talak.
this episode has some adult themes but it's a good episode. It has the good voice talents of victor Rivers(the mask of zorrow), Hector Elizondo(the princess diaries 1&2), and Elizabeth Pena(the incredibles). But watch out for these adult themes
Excellent for the Justice League fan!.......2007-01-18
I have a 4 year old boy and 30-something husband who both LOVE this and the JL series. Would highly reccommend this!
Some of the best Cartoon/Comics ever written and produced!.......2006-10-24
This movie was originally done as a 3-part series on their Saturday shows. It is an amazing work. Somehow watching these cartoons is 1000 times better than watching the Superman movie of 2006. When these comic/cartoon writers and producers are on their game, like with "Starcrossed" you get real entertainment that keeps you on the edge of your seat with true tension and suspense that turns you and your family into a true couch-potato clan; without the price of a family of 5 at the movies. We were glued to the set from start to finish all--of us from age 2 to 39. We couldn't wait for Cartoon Network to play it again, so we had to buy it here. We'll definitely watch "Starcrossed" again and again.
Excellent - well worth it.......2006-09-22
This was one really awesome movie. The character relationships were realistic and well done. The plot was brilliant. It really wasn't as predictable as you may also think as there are a number of plot twists. There are also well done sub-plots as the conflicts with Hawk Girl and the rest of the JL particularly wtih Green Lantern.

Brought to you by the same crew that wrote and directed the classic Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, this Easter staple will look and feel familiar to any eyes that watched the 1970s around holiday time. Writer Romeo Muller's done a wonderful job capturing simple lo-fi dialogue and action around the lovable early-spring bunny, weaving enough drama into the script to make the show comprehensible for kids and enjoyable for (most) adults. The production team makes their animation-verité visuals jerky enough that it feels still like their Santa juggernaut (created seven years earlier than this 1977 production). And narrator Fred Astaire returns to give the shell of the story its pleasant feel, not at all too threatening but neither too mushy or idiotic. Of course the production dynamics and sound are subpar in comparison with current techniques, but this isn't a film to watch with an eye for how with-the-times it could or should be. --Andrew Bartlett
Description
In Kidsville, youngsters make their own laws, run their own shops and maybe even stay up as late as they want. Each Spring, everyone - including Sunny the Bunny - pitches in to make Easter holiday goodies. Then it's the Bunny's job to take the painted eggs and yummy jellybeans to a nearby town called Town. But he better watch out. Because grouchy old Town doesn't allow kids or a hippity-hoppity Easter bunny! With a childlike sense of wonder, this perennial favorite shows how Sunny and his pals win over the meanies of Town by inventing many of our happiest, hoppiest Easter traditions!
Customer Reviews:
A childhood classic.......2007-06-12
As a child my sisters and I used to gather around the television to watch the Holiday specials. I remember watching the "Easter Bunny is Comin to Town" with my family and enjoying the story and every song. It has become a family tradition, one that I will definately carry on with my children.
Fun Rankin-Bass Easter Show.......2007-05-12
This is the classic Rankin-Bass you never saw.
While there are many similarities to a certain Christmas show with Fred Astaire this one hold it's own very well. Our kids love it and the songs are catchy!
All in all a very enjoyable addition to the holiday.
Rather Disappointing.......2007-04-30
I hate to be a contrarian, but, as a child of the sixties and seventies who grew up on Rankin-Bass, I believe "The Easter Bunny is Comin' to Town" is perhaps the worst of the bunch. Not only is the story line pretty much a direct rip-off of the superb "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town", but it's a lousy rip-off. Almost everything about this film - the dialogue, the animation, the characters - are just plain sub-par and un-engaging. About the only bright spot in this film are the musical numbers, which are fairly catchy. As for the animation, it seems to have regressed somewhat in quality, even though the film was released in 1977. Believe me, I take no pleasure in writing this. I'm a big fan of Rankin-Bass productions and enjoy having them in my library of holiday-oriented movies. I'm also a bit of a sucker for nostalgia, and ordinarily would overlook minor flaws in these kinds of films. I would say that if you're looking for an Easter-themed video for you or your kids, go with "Here Comes Peter Cottontail", which is far superior to this lackluster effort.
Superb Rankin And Bass Easter Classic To Be Enjoyed By The Whole Family.......2007-04-12
My admiration for the talented team of Arthur Rankin Jr and Jules Bass and their wonderful animagic productions knows no bounds and their creations in countless holiday specials are still in my belief unsurpassed for sheer charm and creativity. Perhaps most famous for their legendary Christmas specials such as "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", this talented duo also created some memorable specials for the Easter season producing two classics in the charming animagic process that took different slants on dealing with the celebration of Easter. The highly entertaining and beautifully constructed "Here Comes Peter Cottontail", was released in 1971 and has endeared itself to television audiences ever since and then in 1977 came the superb "The Easter Bunny is Comin' to Town", which in its turn became an Easter staple on television. Narrated by none other than acting legend Fred Astaire this special in a most original way goes about explaining the origins of so many of our regular Easter traditions such as why we have Easter Egg hunts, why eggs are painted, the origin of jelly beans etc. All wrapped up in superb animagic animation courtesy of the Rankin and Bass team and boasting catchy seasonal songs that will have you singing along, "The Easter Bunny Is Comin' To Town", makes memorable viewing for all those like myself who love all the traditions of Easter and always enjoy the nostalgia that specials such as this produce for those of us lucky enough to have seen them each year on television at Easter time.
Also a great beginner Easter movie for small kids.......2007-04-11
This was the first Easter my 2 1/2 year old could really start to understand and participate in the holiday events. This movie helped her to understand the concept of coloring eggs and basket hunting, all the while holding her attention throughout. She loved the bear scenes and now always asks me to show her "bunny town". Other children's Easter films of this same genre are good but a bit to complicated plot wise for the toddler set. She liked Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail but her attention would wane. There is obviously lots more to holidays and their origins than bunnies, baskets and jelly beans but this is a fun way to help teach little ones that this is a special day and one to look forward to each year.

Customer Reviews:
Fun, if you don't take it too seriously.......2005-01-28
Having essayed at least two books on the Walker family spy ring, I found this TV mini-series historically suspect in the finest tradition of "made for TV movies", and yet surprisingly entertaining.
WHO THE WALKERS WERE: Though referred to as a case of a family of spies, much of the work was really done by patriarch Johnny Walker, a naval cryptologist whose access to USN code keys and related material allowed him to inflict damage against the US military. From 1968 at least until the mid 1980's, Walker turned over volumes of classified encryption material to his Soviet handlers - a career that began when he approached the Russian embassy in 1968. Never arousing much suspicion from his supervisors, Walker left the Navy fearing a routine background check might uncover his treason. (He also feared that his wife would turn him in, and he was unluckily dead-on in that respect.) Though initially motivated by desperate finances, Walker underpriced his product - clearing a million dollars only near the end of his 17-year career. Before leaving the Navy, and after being reassigned to an area lacking access to sensitive and lucrative cipher material, Walker recruited Jerry Alfred Whitworth - a naval communications specialist - to carry on his end of the business. Though a weak character, Whitworth is a superb spy, who excels largely because he willingly served in high security areas like Diego Garcia - an unpopular spit in the Indian Ocean reviled by those who serve there, but also possessing strategic importance to the Americans. Walker's brother Arthur, who worked for a defense contractor after leaving the Navy, also provided some classified material. Walker successfully recruited his son as well. Michael Walker had only recently begun collecting classified material as a sailor on an aircraft carrier when he was seized by investigators. Though Michael and Arthur could have matured into prolific suppliers of classified material, Whitworth was likely Johnny Walker's most important partner. Walker's wife, long aware of her husband's espionage, alternated between silent compliance and threats to betray him. Ultimately she did approach the FBI, sealing the Walker spy ring's fate. Until then, the Soviet's made the most of their access to America's encrypted communications - mostly shadowing military units like carrier battle groups. American military planners grew frustrated as Soviet forces became perennial spectators of allied war games prepared and executed in apparent secrecy. The prospect of treason, however, was never seriously considered - treason is something people in other (read: communist) countries do.
THIS FLICK ROCKS: because it looks more like a parody of the Walker spy saga and fact-based movies in general. Though Walker was a treasonous weasel, Powers Boothe plays him as a darkly charismatic manipulator, one who wraps attractive women around his finger like James Bond. Even more outrageous are elaborate sequences in which US Naval strategists determine that they've been compromised. (In this version, high-tech American subs are tracked by unsophisticated Russian subs - leading analysts no choice but to conclude that the Soviets have broken their codes.) While the above may one day prove to have been true, it currently clashes with known accounts in which the Americans disregarded clues of Russian code-breaking (Soviet technology lacked the computing horsepower to break codes on their own, and of course nobody wanted to believe that one of our own had turned on us.) In short, it's fun if you've read the true story and can point out where actual treason becomes fun TV.

My favorite show.......2006-03-26
This is my favorite TV show right now. I've had other favorite shows, but I've never stopped liking Totally Spies. (Except for 1 time when I was a little kid I didn't watch it for a long time.) They should keep showing it, not just those boring anime shows for boys they've been showing lately. They've made chapter books, comics, DVDs, videos, Halloween costumes, dolls, and probably more stuff I don't know about. They shouldn't cancel it now. They aren't even finished writing all the books yet!
Spyin' Around.......2005-10-05
The third installment of the "Totally Spies" DVDs has four more awesome adventures of a super-secret spy trio who travel the world and saving it from evil masterminds before school bell rings.
Volume three of the cute-looking spies' adventures includes "The Fugitives," where a bunch of girls that look exactly like the spies started performing crimes everywhere. Now it's up to the real spies to clear their names or else ! Another episode is called "Child's Play." In this episode the spies stop an inventor who implants strange devices into toys which makes people act like children !
Look for these and even more of your favorite episodes of "Spies" on Cartoon Network.
