A string of insurmountable gaps in logic keeps this science fiction/thriller hybrid from director John Dahl (Joy Ride, The Last Seduction) from fully developing its intriguing premise. Ray Liotta stars as a medical examiner who is obsessed with finding his wife's killer. A possible solution is found in neurobiologist Linda Fiorentino's experimental serum, which transfers memories from one person to another--even from the deceased. Liotta injects himself with the serum, which allows him harrowing glimpses into other people's minds. But while each dose brings him closer to identifying the killer, it also puts him one step nearer to death. Dahl keeps the film moving briskly and wraps it in noirish photography, but he's let down by Bill Geddie's script, which asks viewers to swallow some implausible notions (the instantaneous success of the experimental serum, for one). --Paul Gaita

Lordy lordy, there is some serious testifying going on here. What's more, the titles ("Let Us Worship Him," "Just a Prayer Away," "The Battle Is the Lord's"), the setting (a Washington, D.C. church), and the febrile audience response leave no doubt that Yolanda Adams is a gospel singer. But this two-hour program (including interviews that can be viewed separately) has a decidedly contemporary feel. The music has the sound of commercial R&B or smooth jazz; the influence of artists like Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway is readily apparent; there are costume changes and a light show; there's even a video (for "Gotta Have Love") that can only be described as hip-hop. That's not to say that Adams plans to go the route traveled by Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and others who made the transition from the pew to the pop charts. But one thing is certain: this ain't your grandmother's church music. Glory hallelujah! --Sam GrahamCustomer Reviews:

Description
This 18-song set from Nat "King" Cole is visual tribute to one of the most elegant trailblazers in history. Born on St. Patrick's Day 1919, Nathaniel Adams Coles took to the piano at an early ago and formed his own group while in his teens.Nat put a royal sobriquet in the middle, dropped the 's' from his last name and truly became "King." He was the most successful Black recording artist of his time, selling over 50 million records by 1950.
His smooth, sensuous vocals bridged America's changing tastes from pre- World War II to a post-war world in a hurry. Nat "King" Cole became the first African-American to host a national tv show in 1955 setting standards for all who followed. He remains a musical treasure more than half a century after his death.

We Can't Give out 0 Stars with reviews???.......2004-05-19
As a die-hard fan, I think we should be refunded after watching this garbage. You should read the back cover of the DVD, "40 minutes of interviews with the band" and "insider revelations on all band members." LIES!! LIES!!! There is almost no interviews with the band, and as for the people that are interviewed, I bet more than half of them have never even met u2.
Unauthorized. How perfect is that to describe this DVD? Somebody probably put it together in their basement. There is no u2 music, no information of any substance, and I pray I could rewind my life back one hour so I could take back the 60 mins I wasted on viewing this DVD. I would recommend the "Vanilla Ice: Behind the Music" DVD before this...yes my friends, that's how awful this is. Just kidding. Or am I?
One of the reasons why u2 are the greatest rock band is because of their following, their fans are very loyal. And there is a lot of u2 merchandise floating around, so to those u2 fans, stay away from this DVD! Go Pick up the "Slane Castle Concert," which is absolutely amazing...or save the money and use it to buy the "ZOO TV: Sydney" or "Popmart: Mexico City" DVDs if they are ever released.
