Michael Schenker/UFO LIVE.......2007-06-10

What's great about this DVD is it is MOSTLY live footage of Michael Schenker-era UFO from the 1970s (taken from 2 different live shows).
It also has some interesting insights (short and sweet) from members of the band and a few other musicians who were influenced by the band.
If you are a fan of Schenker and UFO, you won't be disappointed.
The sound quality is not great but it is GOOD considering the footage is 30 years old.
Do yourself a favor and enjoy this DVD through a pair of quality headphones.
It will give you more "separation" and enhance your listening experience.
The same goes for any older concert footage.

well, for Michael Schenker fans I guess the best part of this DVD is watching UFO playing Ligths out,let it roll,too hot to handle,this kids,and out in the streets but the rest is more info. no rock botton or love to love even though is on the list and you get to hear from Phil,Pete and Michael.This part of this DVD and the part of UFO world greatest albums(DVD)strangers in the night could have been great put together without the extra stuff that was worthless.ROCK ON, (MSG/UFO fan)

PAUL CHAPMAN: The best UFO guitarist. Believe it or Not!..........2006-04-08

Sorry for the UFO fans, but the reality is this: When the "glorious" Schenker appeared in the Rock scene, ...there was too late!... because many, many years ago; people like Tony Iommi, Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Hendrix or the super master Jimmy Page (and I'm not including amazing Progressive guitarrists like Steve Howe or Steve hackett), were already well known names in the Rock scene. But the true is that Schenker wasn't showing something new, let's be honest! YES!... THERE WERE GOOD SONGS, and the peak of his dextresity was layered on the live disc STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT (with master compositions: Lights Out and Rock Bottom), etc... (I knew that story very well)...BUT the best UFO guitarist was the englishman PAUL CHAPMAN, because his creative flashy licks (more than Michael's licks), control and depured hands technic, But don't believe me! just Listen the NO PLACE TO RUN album (1980), where you will testify his mastery not only in electric but in acoustic guitar with the intro of the song "Mistery Train". Another extraordinary recordings with P.Chapman are: THE WILD THE WILLING AND THE INNOCENT (1981), MECHANIX (1983) and MAKING CONTACT (1984); another amazing guitarist is, Atomic Tomy: MISDEMEANOR (1986). But this guitar man, Paul Chapman, really was at the level of the best England guitarists, and he really helped to consolidated the name UFO between the respected groups of the rock scene. so sorry but I think that it would be better a UFO concert with guitarist PAUL CHAMPMAN (Is there anybody listening me?), that's why I will let the final comments about this DVD to you. I'M SORRY!...Good Luck!

A must for UFO Schenker Fans.......2006-03-22

I was very happy and surprised at the amount of live video clips in this DVD. It really caters to the true fans of UFO, and especially Michael Schenker fans. It is really better than I expected, and I expected a lot.

Too Hot Not to Handle is an excellent documentary that everyone should watch and share with other. We need to aware everyone about the climate changes that our planet is undergoing and the effects it will have on our lives if individuals and governments do not do something about it.

The documentary is very clear and easy to understand. Scientific facts are presented in a clear and simple so everyone can comprehend the importance of this issue. It is a great documentary that may be discussed by teachers and educators in general, on science and social courses.

A Must See!.......2006-12-07

In this movie many scientists explain different consequences of global warming very clearly. Then they explain many potential solutions and things that are currently being done in several states of US to help stop it. It's a great movie. BTW, it explains that the global Warming is a global average, but in different parts of the World we should expect to see unbalance in the weather, extremes, either very hot, or cooler than usual. That doesn't mean there is not global warming, just that a regional area has colder temperatures is part of the climate change, but overall the average temperature is indeed warming.
I even liked this movie better than An Inconvenient Truth, which is a great eye-opener but doesn't have much about what can be done and is being done to solve this problem that we brought into ourselves.

I saw the televison version today. A rather simple documentary. No political stuff. Although the climate crisis is no longer disputed, the movie could use help from visual reinforcement and heavy bombardment of scientific evidence. i hope the DVD will go deeper on the scientists' proposals to solve the problem.

As to personal experience, when i was in Beijing, i read "THE HEAT IS ON". The weather there is indeed getting hotter year by year. Now i'm in Dubai, the weather is getting cooler. Different parts of a whole picture, i guess.

Movie was what I expected but it should have been in color but my copy showed in b&w and transfer was of poor quality.

Great performance of Jayne in a Terence Young movie !.......2006-06-03

For years i was trying to get to see this film.
When I finally found it last year,i was pleasantly surprised.
Jayne offers a serious performance that i found very credible.Even her voice is lower in it's tone,and the numbers when she sings give us an idea of what her Las Vegas shows must have been like(she was the highest paid performer,at 35,000 $ a week !).God knows that Jayne was not offered many serious roles in her film career,but i would say that this one qualifies as a serious one.
The film is directed by Terence Young,and even if the production values are done with a small budget,it is well-paced,with a real story giving us a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes of a stripper in the late 50's.
The serious side of Jayne's performance made me think about her last movie,'Single Room Furnished',which made me sad.
Conclusion:Don't dismiss this film as a 'Bomb' or El-cheapo trashy film,it is not.
Trivia (found of Jayne's site):One of the reason why the film was shot in black and white,had to do with how revealing one of Jayne's costume was(the one you see on the cover)
