it definitely is worth the money and very informative,

Anyone who can recommend others like these, let me ;)

5 out of 5 stars Very Informative.......2004-01-02

This video is by far my favorite regarding Ted Bundy. The images and information we receive here are forgotten or missing in other books and ideos regarding Bundy. If you are looking for an well done, informative documentary, then this is for you. Highly recommended

4 out of 5 stars So this is the real Bundy!.......2003-03-18

I always wonder how Ted Bundy was really like, well I first only red about him and seeying this documentary on him finnally make me see what Ted Bundy behaviors, voice and look were like. He seem really normal, the way he speak was professional, he do have a cameleon look, sometime he look so different and you think this is Bundy? A very weird part in this documentary is when he asked Carol Boone to married him, he asked her in the middle of his court trial! If you want to know how Bundy really his buy or rent this tape but of course you won't know the real Bundy, he never really show his true self.

5 out of 5 stars I couldn't believe it until I heard and saw it.......2002-09-17

I know a lot about Ted Bundy, having read and watched a lot of documentaries and movies about him but I had never seen the real Ted and didn't quite understand how people could trust him having seen the evil stare on some pictures. This man on the other hand when in control is the most charismatic person you can think of, with a beautiful voice, a soft look in his eyes, and a true reserve. Then the "entity" as some authors have called it shows up and the voice hardens and become deeper and deeper exactly as if he was possessed by some evil, and his eyes become darker with a terrifying gaze. You'll see him in court on this video , hear him talk about what "the person" probably did to the victims and see the transformation for yourself.
This documentary is definitely worth the money and very informative, still I can't help but imagine the terror of the girls who actually witness that transformation, but also it is terryfiyng to hear him talk without a trace of any remorse of any kind, and yet you can't help thinking just for a second of what life could have been for Ted if only he hadn't had that terrible part in him. Very interesting and very informative...but don't watch it at night.

5 out of 5 stars An excellent film for teenagers..especially girls........1999-10-05

This film opens the eyes of people to serial killers. It teaches students to not be so trusting of other people. It is a must for all teenagers.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT FILM .......2007-07-05

TED BUNDY

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life, and I really mean that, independent or major studio film, this is by far a classic film. This film is about the real life serial killer Ted Bundy who terrorized many a young lady in his time and still became a celebrity. That of course was towards the end of his life on this earth, it is shocking how he raped and killed women yet so many of them loved him while he was in jail for the last time before his execution.

This film superbly written by Stephen Johnston and director Matthew Bright is what every based on true events movie should be, a straight forward in your face picture. This film is not preachy in any way, and doesn't take any side nor does it heroinize [not sure that is even a word] the film's killer Bundy. This film does not show any sympathy to the killer at all, for some reason some films like to make you feel bad for the killer by showing him/her as a person with problems, mental most of the time, some like to use a bad childhood as an excuse for a killer. Instead this film just shows you what happened, like it or not this man existed and really committed these crimes.

Bundy is played masterfully by Michael Reilly Burke, when viewing this film the first I had no doubt in my mind that I was really seeing Ted Bundy on my screen. He really plays the part perfectly, he is very creepy in one scene and wholesome and charming in the next. Matthew Bright did an excellent job as the director for this film, his direction is suburb and you can tell he really wanted to make the best movie possible. Of course you all know the story; Bundy brutally killed then raped [in that order] various women for years. He was even caught a couple of times and escaped from prison only to start doing it all again. The weird thing about it was that he actually had a girlfriend that would anything for him, that includes playing dead while they had sex [creepy]. The girlfriend was played masterfully by Boti Ann Bliss, her performance was outstanding and I can see why she was cast.

Now comes the real messed up part, when he was in jail the last time before his execution he received hundreds of fan letters from WOMEN every where. Speaking of his execution, Burke's performance is painfully good during the scenes were he is being prepped for the chair, and I mean painfully. It is the one scene that made me feel for the guy, I could really see the fear in his eyes, and his screams had me cringing. This was an excellent work of art.

1 out of 5 stars I'd give it zero stars--way too graphic and misses a lot.......2007-05-30

Only a few minutes into this movie, I realized it was much more graphic than described. Bundy's sick sex fantasies are shown quite explicitly, as are his necrophilia and masturbation. None added to the film and were overused extensively. The acting was sub-par, especially by the lead actress. I much prefer the original movie about Ted Bundy starring Mark Harmon, called "The Deliberate Stranger" which was less graphic and yet showed how cold and cunning Bundy was. I have to wonder if the maker of the film was against capital punishment as he also included much graphic information about the preparing of the inmate for execution at the end that was unnecessary to the plot. Bad directing, bad acting, bad sound (did I mention how terribly inappropriate and bad the music is), jerky filming that will give you a headache, and more graphic sex and violence than are necessary for such a film. So much was left out that could have been included regarding Bundy's childhood, family, and why he grew to be such a disturbed individual. Also, his longtime girlfriend Lee was complicit in several of his crimes and this movie just makes her look like a paranoid fruitcake. Yes, she was fruity, but so was Ted, so why didn't she fry too? Overall, I think this film was just awful. Find a copy of "The Deliberate Stranger" or rent the Biography edition on Ted Bundy; skip this. The poor production will give you a headache and become frustrating, while the graphic sex and violence will make you both sick and mad at the director.

5 out of 5 stars Disturbingly graphic.......2007-04-07

This movie shows just how deranged Bundy truly was. I made a friend of mine, who had never heard of Ted Bundy, watch it with me and she was horrified. Her mouth hung open and her eyes were wide throughout the entire movie.

4 out of 5 stars TED BUNDY - FEATURE FILM - VERY UNDER-RATED.......2007-03-25

TED BUNDY starring Matthew Bright is a VERY UNDER-RATED FILM. While the disturbing content is for mature audiences only, this is a good film. Well acted, the film uses a chronological approach to Ted Bundy's promising yet bizarre and eventually disturbing life. While Ted Bundy's crimes were terrible, the film also infers that Bundy suffered mentally, and his acts were to some extent uncontrollable. Some actual footage from Bundy's trail including pictures and reporter film is used in this movie as well. This is a sick flick that is surprisingly well done.

2 out of 5 stars Toooo cheesy!.......2007-02-19

When I ordered this I was expecting a gruesome horror flick. So much of the actual story was left out that this was hardly believable and the acting was corny to boot.

4 out of 5 stars My Least Favorite Volume Of WrestleMania.......2006-09-05

Out of the four box sets of WrestleMania's, I would say that this selection is the worst one compared to the other three sets. Now I'll be honest, I didn't buy the DVD set (I have the WM 1-13 VHS set from almost 10 years ago & taped WM 14 & 15 off PPV) so I don't know what's been edited or changed as far as theme music or anything of that nature.

WrestleMania 11 - This was the one WM that stands out as WWE resorting to "sports entertainment" over anything else as they relied more on celebrities to carry the show than the wrestler's themselves in hopes to bring in major media attention to the company which made for a very weak card. The only standout matches here were the two main events WWF Champion Diesel vs. Shawn Michaels and Lawerence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow. Like I said, I didn't buy the DVD set but from what I've heard, the Salt-N-Pepa performance for Lawerence Taylor was edited out.

WrestleMania 12 - This WrestleMania made alot of history in that the seeds for the HBK/Bret Hart real life fued where born here along with the WM debuts of Triple H & Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the returns of Roddy Piper & Ultimate Warrior. The main event here was the Ironman Match between HBK & Bret Hart. Alot of people praise this match but honestly, I could only watch the match once since it became predictable after around 20 mins. that they were just going to wrestle the match straight for one hour instead of actually using the "ironman concept" to tell a story of them one upping each other, I just found myself watching the clock & counting it down. Anyways, the standout matches here were the Hollywood Backlot Brawl between Roddy Piper & Goldust, Undertaker vs. Diesel, and the squash of Triple H by Ultimate Warrior (just to laugh at HHH's expense)

WrestleMania 13 - WM returns to Chicago and this one had alot of memorable moments in itself as it featured the returns of the hometown favorites in the Legion Of Doom, the beginnings of the The Rock with fans booing & chanting "Die Rocky Die" during his match, the WM debuts of Chyna & Ken Shamrock and the seeds of the Attitude Era in WWF being planted here. Standout matches include Goldust vs. HHH, Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold in their historic submission match with Ken Shamrock as the referee, the street fight between LOD & Ahmed Johnson vs. the Nation Of Domination, and WWF Champion Sysco Sid vs. Undertaker.

WrestleMania 14 - This was the WrestleMania that began the Austin era of the WWF and really launched the Attitude era, the in-ring farewell for Shawn Michaels for at least 5 years, and the appearence of Mike Tyson. This was one of those WM's were there wasn't a bad match eventhough some didn't live up to the hype (Rock/Shamrock) & were good for what they were (tag team battle royal).

WrestleMania 15 - This WM was held in the hometown of ECW & was a step down from the previous year as alot of the matches were switched up (Billy Gunn & Road Dogg switched matches only two weeks before the event), thrown together at the last minute (Test & D'Lo won a battle royal eariler on Heat to fight the tag team champions), or were just not going to be any good (Sable can't wrestle, Mick Foley's body was really broken down by this point, and the Hell In The Cell match was a flop...to the point to where they never mention this match when they show video highlights of previous HITC matches). The only two standout matches here were X-Pac vs. European Champion Shane McMahon & WWF Champion The Rock vs. Stone Cold.

Again, this was the worst box set of the WrestleMania's available...if your buying them individually, this would be the last one I purchase.

4 out of 5 stars IT HAS SOME GREAT WMS........2006-05-31

ONE OF THE BEST ONES IN THIS SET WAS WM 12. IT HAD THREE GOOD MATCHES. AND THEY WERE...... RODDY PIPER VS GOLDUST IN A HOLLYWOOD BACK LOT BRWAL, THE UNDERTAKER VS DISEL, AND SHAWN MICHLES VS BRET HART IN A IRON MAN MATCH. THE NEXT GOOD WM WAS WM 14. ITS BEST MATCHES WERE..... HHH VS OWEN HART, THE NEWAGE OUTLAWS VS TERRY FUNK AND CACTUS JACK IN A DUMPSTER MATCH, THE UNDERTAKER VS KANE, AND STONE COLD VS SHAWN MICHLES. WM 15 HAD TWO GREAT MATCHES. AND THOSE WERE SHANE MCHMAON VS X-PAC AND THE ROCK VS STONE COLD. THIS SET IS WORTH THE MONEY.

3 out of 5 stars good set.......2006-03-24

i know it is disapointing regarding the editing both blurs and music etc but there is light at the end of the tunnel. im not going to list the edits in this set because i think everybody knows the story. but in a place called Europe there is a third party company called Silvervision.co.uk who are the offical distributor of wwe home video in Europe. since 2002 they have been producing 2 dvd sets called wwe tagged classics starting with Royal Rumble 89 and 90. these are direct copies from the coliseum video range. now the facts. these are in dvd quality and sound. they are OFFICIAL wwe products. they have no extras. the commentators USE the words WWF .There is absolutely no Blurring and NO MUSIC EDITS. DEMOLITION AND SLICK ALL IN TACT.
so that was that we presumed but when the series got to the attitude era that the blurring would kick in as the scratch logo was in the court case blah blah.WRONG. silvervision will release KOR 97 and KOR 98 (HELL IN CELL) and they will be no editing whatsoever and that has been confirmed by Silvervision. note these dvds are region 0. region free. if you dont believe me go to silvervision.co.uk. and purchase off amazon.co.uk

5 out of 5 stars WWE Wrestlemania Anthology ... Worth the Money!.......2006-03-20

I waited a long time for the WWE to release WrestleMania I-XIV on DVD. I must say that overall I was not disappointed. Each WrestleMania is shown in its entirety (with the exception of WrestleMania XI). The WrestleMania DVDs show the original television broadcasts. I owned just about every WrestleMania in their original VHS format. The older tapes of the shows they released were heavily edited in order to fit the program on one cassette. They even edited some matches to make them shorter. The only way you could see all these matches in their entirety was to watch the original television broadcasts ... until now!

Now, here is what is what is wrong with the DVD sets:

-Entrance music for a lot of Superstars is dubbed over with crappy, generic music so the WWE would not have to pay royalties to use these songs.
-Any verbal reference to WWF is edited out
-WrestleMania XIV-X8 blurs out the WWF scratched logo
-The Salt N' Pepper performance at WrestleMania XI was completely taken out so the WWE would not have to pay them royalties
-There are no extra features whatsoever ... just the event itself for every WrestleMania

I hated that all this great entrance music was taken out. The edited out the entrance music to Slick's "Jive Soul Bro," HillBilly Jim's "Country Boy," Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, Demolition, Big Boss Man's "Hard Time," and Ric Flair's original entrance music to name just a few. I really miss "Jive Soul Bro!" I would have shelled out more dough for these DVDs if they ensured all the old theme music was included. The blurred out WWF scratched logo is annoying but bearable.

Personally, I only purchased the first three box sets of WrestleMania I-XV because I already owned WresteMania XV-21 on DVD. If you would prefer to own copies without all the WWF references edited out, I recommend you do the same and try to buy the original WresteleMania DVD releases off of Amazon or eBay for XV-21. Plus, you miss out on a ton of DVD extras that the original DVD releases are packed with.

Regardless of the gigs I give this box set, I highly recommend to add these DVDs to your collection if you are a professional wrestling fan. Every single match and interview is shown in its entirety. Plus, it is the only way you will get these classic WrestleMania's in DVD format.

1 out of 5 stars Read the Book and Stick with The Facts.......2007-06-10

all of the Ted Bunies Movies have been so farfetched. i wanted to see the true STORY of Ted Bundy!! i didnt get that. i want them to show us what his life was like growing up as a child and slowly progress into 1974 so we get the whole picture...little things also annoyed me! if you havnt read the book, dont watch the movie!! everything in it is false. the color of his VW, the names of the victims..even great parts of the book were edited out. boring. boring. boring.

3 out of 5 stars A shallow story for a shallow person.......2006-12-02

For the price ($5.50), I found it to be a good picture. Upon viewing it initially I was disappointed but after thinking about it for a while, I realized that this movie should be done in a shallow way. That's because thats what Ted Bundy really was, just like Scott Peterson and others who murder strangers and family alike. All his "good" talents were really morphed over time. Too bad he was born to be handsome later, but accompanied by different influences that turned out to be deadly probably starting in 1962.

2 out of 5 stars Fairly Disappointing.......2006-08-20

I bought this DVD after reading Ann Rule's fascinating book of the same name. A longtime fan of both Billy Campbell and Barbara Hershey, I was anxious to see their portrayal of Rule's riveting (and true) story about her longtime friendship with Ted Bundy. Unfortunately, I was disappointed.

Everyone knows that made-for-TV movies often lack the quality acting and scripting of feature films, and this one was no exception. Although I know Hershey and Campbell to be fine actors, I think the poor quality of the script dragged them down in this instance. The most riveting feature of Rule's book was her emotional dilemma in trying to reconcile the Ted Bundy she knew as a witty, giving friend with the gruesome serial killer he became. Rule's struggle about what she feels for Bundy -- if she should stand by him or turn her back on him -- just doesn't come across in this movie, nor does the lingering affection she feels for the man even AFTER she accepts what he's done. Perhaps it's because so much of the development of the Rule/Bundy friendship is either changed or left out entirely. In my opinion, the weak script just didn't provide enough opportunity for Campbell and Hershey to generate any kind of chemistry at all.

More often than not, Hershey portrays Rule as someone who is often annoyed with Ted and simply tolerates him even BEFORE she learns what he's done. I never really buy them as good friends at all. I did not get the same impression from Rule's book in which she seems to feel rushes of emotion for Ted, and often wants to protect him as a big sister might. Certainly Rule detested Ted's acts and felt betrayed by him, but right up until the end, she felt true emotion for the friend she once knew. I don't get any of that from Hershey's version. Campbell's performance as Bundy is ok -- even decent at certain times - but again, a weak script limits him.

Factually, this movie is riddled with glaring mistakes that will really annoy someone familiar with Bundy's murder sprees. The changing of victims' names is totally justified, but things like the circumstances of Bundy's final arrest, his two escapes from jail, the way he flees from the Chi Omega crime scene, and even the color of his VW are unecessarily rewritten -- and not even in a way that improves the drama. Bundy's famous kidnapping and murder of two girls from Lake Sammamish State Park in 1974 is left out altogether.

Perhaps this patched together TV movie was even more disappointing because the source material was so rich -- and so wasted. I don't know if Ann Rule wrote the teleplay, but if she did, that's even more of a crime. The emotion between important "characters" -- all based on real people -- just falls flat.

I have not seen the Mark Harmon TV-movie on Bundy (The Deliberate Stranger), but from what I can gather, you'd be better off obtaining and watching this one rather than the Campbell/Hershey version.

Sir Jeremy Isaacs highly deserves the numerous awards for documentaries he has earned: the Royal Television Society's Desmond Davis Award, l'Ordre National du Mérit, an Emmy, and a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II. His epic The World at War remains unsurpassed as the definitive visual history of World War II.

The Second World War was different from other wars in thousands of ways, one of which was the unparalleled scope of visual documents kept by the Axis and Allies of all their activities. As a result, this war is understood as much through written histories as it is through its powerful images. The Nazis were particularly thorough in documenting even the most abhorrent of the atrocities they were committing--in a surprising amount of color footage. The World at War was one of the first television documentaries that exploited these resources so completely, giving viewers an unbelievable visual guide to the greatest event in the 20th century. This is to say nothing of the excellent, comprehensible narrative. Some highlights:

The World at War will remain the definitive visual history of World War II, analogous to Gibbon's Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. No serious historian should be missing The World at War in a collection, and no student should leave school without having seen at least some of its salient episodes. Rarely is film so essential. --Erik J. Macki

5 out of 5 stars Surely the best?.......2007-06-25

For me, as a British viewer this is almost like the `authorised' documentary television series about The Second World War. Considering the fact that most of the participants in this conflict, as young men and women were now middle-aged at the time of the production of this series in the early 1970's; they could relate their individual experiences which for them would have been recent memories.

American viewers criticize the lack of emphasis on the war in the Pacific. At the time, long before the concept of home video, cable and satellite television was conceivable I'm sure it was thought very unlikely that this excellent series would ever tempt the American broadcasting networks to buy it. So therefore it is not surprising that the series emphasises the war from the British point of view.

As there was little British, or British empire participation in the Pacific theatre it can hardly come as a surprise that the bitter conflict in Burma, Malaya and New Guinea should hold our primary attention. Should the series be made today, with the avowed intention of making a documentary series that would have to be sold around the world to recoup production costs alone, the story would more encompassing in its scope.

Please don't forget that the war began for Britain and France when Nazi Germany invaded Poland in September 1939 and the security of the British people and homeland did not finally arrive until the surrender of Germany in May 1945. Our focus was on the war in Europe and the Soviet Union. The war in the Pacific was a dim and distant event for the "Blacked-out" and severely rationed British people more concerned with the daily struggle just to keep body and soul together.

2 out of 5 stars Just okay ..........2007-06-19

The very first episode was great ... after that it was hit and miss. I found multiple times I wanted to fall asleep on some episodes, but stayed awake out of some desire to feel I watched the whole thing. It is also narrated from a British perspective, and so as an American, I found little to entertain my appetite. Especially Pacific theatre combat with the Americans was almost none existent, as if British combat and especially in Burma was the only real thing that happened. It does have good insights into the Nazi's and rewards itself here and there, but overall I think the British slant and focus ruined the series.

I also found it humorous that the narrator tried to label Hitler as "right-wing" when he was a Socialist dictator. What?

5 out of 5 stars World at War--Good look at history!.......2007-06-18

World at War is a classic! The combination of high-level policymakers' viewpoints and individual citizens' and soldiers' viewpoints gives excellent understanding of the events and issues. I highly recommend it for individuals or classes who want to learn about WWII.

5 out of 5 stars The Worlod at War.......2007-05-13

A fabulous review of WW II through the eyes of the British. Complements the "Vistory at Sea" series.

4 out of 5 stars WWII Done Right.......2007-05-13

I bought this set because it was so darned cheap. I forgot how good this series was. It's well worth the price. The only bad thing about it is that sometimes the video hangs or skips for a few seconds. It is something to see the real players in WWII tell their story in color. I'm very pleased with it.

This 1988 documentary narrated by actor James Earl Jones provides a generally admiring overview of the Kennedy years coupled with a touching look at how a shocked nation reacted to the death of JFK. Notables including former President Gerald Ford, former Speaker of the House Thomas "Tip" O'Neill, violinist Isaac Stern, and historian and Kennedy confidante Arthur Schlesinger Jr. reminisce about Kennedy, remembering how he inspired them and how his death touched them deeply. Home movies of the Kennedy family provide some biographical color. Rarely seen breaking news coverage aired only on a local Dallas station and interviews with witnesses to the assassination, including home movie buff Abraham Zapruder (who had just taken his famed film of Kennedy's motorcade), show the immediate reaction to the tragedy. This documentary is competently assembled, and while it doesn't provide any particularly surprising insights, it does offer a reasonably balanced look at Kennedy's achievements and lasting legacy. --Robert J. McNamara

Hosted by James Earl Jones, this moving documentary looks back on the remarkable life of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, and combines the tragedy of his untimely death with the remembrances of those who knew him best, and those who didn't know him at all.

This critically acclaimed DVD presentation reviews the brief life of JFK. His triumphs. His failures. His inspiration and contribution to our history. The story is told through previously unseen and rare video and home movies, and by many people who were there, ordinary people.

4 out of 5 stars very good tribute to JFK (and some great vintage footage, too).......2005-12-18

I recommend this dvd for all lovers of JFK. I especially liked the comments of Dave Powers, Red Fay, and Carol Channing. That said, the main reason to get this dvd is for the vintage footage, especially the high-quality segment from Love Field 11/22/63 wherein Secret Service agent Henry J. Rybka is waved off the rear area of the limousine by ATSAIC/ Shift Leader Emory P. Roberts (as discovered by myself in 1991 and shown on The Men Who Killed Kennedy, again by myself, in 2003).

I checked orderbox.com's feedback and I would suggest NOT buying from them. If anyone out there would like to sell this dvd to me I would like to buy it so I can review it.

4 out of 5 stars good tape.......2002-07-17

this tape only briefly mentions on JFK's assassination. it mostly talks about his life and how he rose to power. James Earl Jones is the narrator and also talks very briefly about JFK's assassination.
still a good tape for those who liked Kennedy.

3 out of 5 stars 1988 historically documentary on Kennedy's life and death.......2001-11-23

This is the first-ever DVD edition of this 1988 documentary on the assassination hosted by James Earl Jones, produced by WFAA, ABC's Dallas affiliate. During the 25th anniversary, this documentary aired on ABC, and it is unique because it mostly deals with everything America "lost" in 1963 as opposed to the minute-by-minute details of the assassination. In fact, Kennedy's actual death is not mentioned till near the end of this 50 minute documentary. The majority of the program deals with Kennedy's rise to the presidency and his time in office. Other than some slanted references about "a man with a rifle in a window," this documentary remains pleasantly unbiased. It is the life and death of JFK from a historical perspective. The only bonus feature is an edited newsreel of sorts that offers about ten additional minutes of (mostly poor quality) black and white footage of JFK (only 30 secs. about the assassination, though). Overall, this DVD edition is worth it to have all the vintage news footage in a digital format. If you are interested in the details of the actual assassination, buy "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" on DVD instead.

4 out of 5 stars There is blood on the wall.......2007-05-24

Here's the deal about this movie. If you're looking for the brutality factor of Ted Bundy, you'll find a fair amount of it here. There's not excessive gore but there is a lot of bludgeoning, and some blood. The film has 2 drawbacks which have been pointed out here:
1. The facts aren't completely accurate, and some details have been left out (like the fact that his death sentence was postponed nearly a decade). Furthermore, his girlfriend in the movie was not supposed to be his real first love, but was inspired by her.
2. The Ted we see here looks crazy too often. That is a rather serious problem, since a large factor of the shock about the real Ted Bundy was that he was likable and seemed completely normal in society.
For many, these two fallacies are reason enough to write the film off as a failure, but it had some strengths as well. For example, a lot of details in the film were in fact portrayed as they happened in real life, like for example dropping textbooks and asking the girl for help carrying them to his car where he hits her over the head (this happens a LOT in this movie). Also, Michael Reilly Burke, while not coming across as a likable Bundy, does a good job when he becomes a demon.
I recommend this movie to people who want to see the brutal side of Bundy, but this movie should be far from the only source of information about Ted Bundy if you want a better understanding of what really happened.

2 out of 5 stars Sophmoric telling of a horrific story with bland acting.......2007-04-13

Example, his stupid "girlfriend" never had an inkling that Ted was a little unbalanced? Plus she had her little daughter practically licking his hand, was she that desperate for a "man". I guess so. No insight into why he did these things, besides the obvious hatred for women. He was really free and easy on his killing spree and if it wasen't for the girl he tried to kidnap, escaping and turning in a report to the "police" he would still be on the loose today. Not too much gore, could have been a lot better, good mid-seventies feel to it. Rent "Monster" instead, much better movie.

2 out of 5 stars Succeeds at Shock Value.......2006-08-29

"Ted Bundy" may have had every intention of being a serious look at the criminal life of Ted Bundy, but good intentions notwithstanding, the film only succeeds at the sheer shock value it projects.
This film is hardly a feel-good or mainstream subject. It really seems to enjoy its subject's depravity - - was it really necessary to show Bundy playing with the head of a victim in his apartment? The film did very little to show Bundy's relationships with friends and family (his living victims, in a sense). The real Bundy allegedly had a troubled relationship with his mother and his stepfather, a subject that was never touched on. The character of Lee, Bundy's longstanding and suffering girlfriend (based on Bundy's real life girlfriend Liz Kendall) comes across as a needy, whiny character who agrees to go along with "playing dead" while having sex with her erratic and volatile boyfriend. Ugh. Were we supposed to feel sympathy for Lee? Or perhaps for Bundy, who always saw himself as a victim?
Michael Reilly Burke does a good job playing Bundy as the degenerate he truly was. While Mark Harmon played Bundy as a suave, charismatic "gentleman" in "The Deliberate Stranger", Burke hits closer to the truth in his dark portrayal.
That being said, even with Burke's chilling performance, the victims seem to get lost in the shuffle. While it is true that Bundy had a large amount of victims, the true number of which has never been known, and certain composites and consolidation must be done for theatrical purposes, playing the old classic "Rescue Me" imposed over images of Bundy bludgeoning various victims, kidnapping various victims, or playing with their dead bodies is vile. To Bundy, the victims were obviously playthings but to continue to perpetrate that myth years later is disrespectful to the victims themselves and their families.
To better know about Bundy and his killing spree, "The Deliberate Stranger" is a much better choice. The characters are not so one dimensional and there is no shock value.

5 out of 5 stars Gripping, Gruesome, Provocative.......2006-04-26

I find it odd that this film should have garnered so many negative reviews. Perhaps people's idea of serial killer is a cartoon like Hannibal Lector who, quite offensively, is depicted, particularly in Hannibal, both the book and the film, as a superhuman instead of a monster. This film never flinches from portraying Bundy as a true sadist. As Bundy, Michael Reilly Burke delivers a performance that is brave and brilliant. Director Matthew Sweet also gives us one of the best introductions to a serial killer ever. It begins with Ted Bundy waking up. We see his face from the front (cinema convention usually begins the main character being presented from behind). The idea is that the face we see is an illusion and the truth of who Bundy is slumbers beneath his blandly handsome features. At the start of the film, Bundy comes across as a dork. We see him in a club in a preppy suit pulling off bad John Travolta moves. Then he has water thrown over him while masturbating outside the window of a young woman's apartment. But he is dangerous dork. When he explodes into true violence, bashing a woman with a hammer to rid himself of his frustrations, the moment is truly savage and shocking. As Burke plays Bundy, there is beneath his smooth superficial charm, a perpetual sense of something dangerous and cruel just waiting for release. What the film gets right is the sociopath's unabiding selfishness. For all the cruelty he dishes out, even on those unfortunate enough to love him, Bundy always sees himself as the victim. The film is also one of the few serial killer films to ask some genuine questions about the nature of human violence. It ends with the question "Who is Ted Bundy?" and answers it with a series of children, including a cute little girl holding up a dead cat, giggling "I'm Ted Bundy." Still, what is being suggested here is not simply that baby Bundys are growing up as we speak but that depravity exists not only under cover of normalcy but within normalcy. The frenzy and violent joy of those calling for Bundy to be fried on the electric chair (here Sweet uses actual news footage), suggests there is a bloodlust in all of us waiting for an excuse to get out. Who is Ted Bundy? We are.

1 out of 5 stars Few words for such disappointment.......2006-03-09

This movie failed horribly! It should have never been made! GLAD TED BUNDY DIDN'T SEE IT! I guess this is what happens when someone's life, or crimes....is viewed and dissected by another. This was painful to watch. Another dust collector!

4 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Well Done.......2006-01-13

I wasnt expecting much from these films.I know Bundy played in his hometown when it was released but i think the others went straight to video. This set features 3 Dvd's. Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy and Ed Gein.

Dahmer Review- One man 17 Bodies , 957 Years , His story is finally told. This Dvd stars Jeremy Renner as Jeffrey Dahmer. He gives an excellent performance as a teenage Dahmer and Young man. Dahmer dares to explore the truth of a man many called an abomination of nature. These Dvds are inspired by life events. This dvd will take you into the twisted personal pain that led him to do some of the most extreme cases of human cruelty. This one was well acted but i was hoping for more information at the end. The begining was great, describing Jeffrey's early years but i was hoping they would show where they found the bodies at the end and maybe a bit of the trial. But other than that its good.

Ted Bundy- Charismatic and Handsome but a monster inside. Starring Michael Reilly Burke who does a fantastic job as The young Republican Serial Killer Bundy. I almost believed it was the real Bundy. Bundy was virtually Undetectable and changed the mass murderer profile forever. Step inside the mind of the psychotic madman and ask yourself, if it were to happen again would you seem him coming?

Ed Gein- ''Before there was the term serial killer, there was ''Ed''. This one was horrific. After seeing this video I always wondered why Eddie Gein was considered one of the most gruesome serial killers in history. After all he killed only 2, which wouldn't make him a serial killer since 3 is the lucky number. Just the overall weirdness and the extremes he went to is disturbing. He is a truly unique serial killer. He is the inspiration for Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Psycho and other horror movies. The things he did and the extent of his weirdness is unparalleled by most. The story looks back on Ed's Life and contains some real clips from when Ed was caught back in the 1950's. Ed is played by Steve Railsback who gives an excellent and haunting performance as Ed. The mother of Ed, Carrie Snodgress was great as well. Noone will ever forget the True Story Of Ed Gein.

Recomended for True Crime lovers or anyone interested in learning more about their lives, Why they did what they did or
who they were I highly Recomend these DVD'S. Enjoy.

4 out of 5 stars Not Bad At All.......2003-10-11

This movie although at times dragged a bit was very well done. I have seen Chainsaw,Silence and Pshyco and now finally the granddaddy of them all the man who started it Eddy Gein. Steve Railsbacks performance was great. Although not as gory as I expected the story was there and thats what I wanted. Ed Gein will have you at the edge of your seat especially the last half an hour.

To better know about Bundy and his killing spree, "The Deliberate Stranger" is a much better choice. The characters are not so one dimensional and there is no shock value.

We are.

This movie failed horribly! It should have never been made! GLAD TED BUNDY DIDN'T SEE IT! I guess this is what happens when someone's life, or crimes....is viewed and dissected by another. This was painful to watch. Another dust collector!
