5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Show.......2007-01-23

We do a lot of searching around the internet for great shows that are not from the states. This show, about the British Secret Service, portrays a different terrorist situation each episode which MI-5 must difuse. The great acting & story line are sure to get you hooked to this dramatic show.

5 out of 5 stars MI-5.......2007-01-13

If you like spy flicks, then this is one you need to see! Very well done all around! Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars I've got to stop trying to watch 3 seasons at one go...........2006-06-02

I had heard about Spooks but couldn't find it on the BBC sites so I gave up. After seeing the new Pride & Prejudice I looked up Matthew Macfadyen for some of his other work and what did I find but MI-5 infiltrating Spooks. I love this drama and truly, after a couple of episodes I even keep up with some of the dodgy dialogue. Due to the nature of the espionage world (as I imagine it) killing off main players only makes sense; although I am always shocked by it. If these people didn't die rather frequently given what they do I would definitely be able to sleep. Which I don't. Until the entire 3 seasons are over, I will be zombified. How many hours did they say this thing runs?? Bleah. Man I love Brit TV. And movies.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing TV series.......2006-02-26

This riveting series from BBC is about a fictionalized MI5 which comes in contact with MI6, CIA, politics, terrorism, computer hacking, etc. - the story lines are amazing. If you like espionage and cloak and dagger stuff, this is for you! There is also great acting and the music score really adds to the suspense. I saw the original series on TV but seeing it at home and being able to stop and review the action is the way to go. This is edge-of-the-seat excitement! The DVD's also contain interviews with the production staff and stars which is great background info about the series. As the series progresses, they replace a few of the stars - I must admit that I was very dismayed when that happened but they were smart to replace them with other great actors who will definitely maintain your interest. I can't wait until the next DVD comes out! Currently there are 3 DVD's, one for each season and the 4th season will be starting on TV soon.

5 out of 5 stars Move over, 24..........2005-10-13

...because the Brits do it so much better. Yes, the screenwriter has training in Hollywood, but the BBC and the fine actors show just how good this kind of show really can be.

It doesn't get much better. Don't hesitate to own this series.

BTW, it's up to Season 4 on the BBC, with major cast changes, but nobody appears to be complaining over there. I wish we poor second cousins were up to speed with our previous government when it comes to quality TV. As I've often wondered, perhaps we shouldn't have been quite so hasty dumping that tea in the harbor....
