This 1961 family film, based on the novel by Marguerite Henry, inspired a generation of children to name their pet dogs, cats, turtles, and so on after the lovely colt of the title. Set on Virginia's coastal island of Chincoteague, the film begins on "Pony-Penning Day," an annual celebration that involves rounding up for auction wild ponies on neighboring islands. Two young children, a brother and sister (David Ladd, son of Alan, and Pam Smith), capture an elusive mare nicknamed Phantom and hope to take ownership of her colt, Misty. A stranger has other plans, however, setting his mind on buying both animals, and the disappointed kids turn to their sympathetic townspeople to find a way out of the dilemma. A great-looking film shot on location, Misty is an effusive adventure about that special, even mythic, bond between children and wild creatures. Performances are strong, the scenery is splendid, and the film lingers in the memory for a long, long time. --Tom Keogh

Amazon.com essential video
Clint Eastwood (making his very assured directorial debut) is a poetry-spouting stud-muffin DJ stalked by a maniacally amorous fan after a misguided one-night stand in this enjoyably schlocky, undeniably effective film about good intentions gone murderously wacky. Although many of the very '70s trappings presented here may ultimately be too dated to be taken seriously (including a very self-indulgent jazz number and a hilariously gooey seduction number between Eastwood and Donna Mills), the core premise of infatuation taken out of bounds remains uncomfortably plausible--and was influential enough to be appropriated by one of the biggest hits of the '80s. (Here's a hint--it starred Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, and a very unfortunate bunny rabbit). A well-staged and occasionally very frightening thriller worth watching for Jessica Walter's peerlessly unhinged performance alone. Frequent Eastwood collaborator Don Siegel (director of Dirty Harry, Coogan's Bluff, and The Beguiled, to name but a few) has a nice cameo as Murphy, the mustachioed, chess-playing bartender. --Andrew Wright
Customer Reviews:
Play Misty For Me.......2007-05-07
Play Misty for Me A Good movie for an early 1970's suspense/thriller. By today's vstandards it would be considered "sappy and predictable". Clint Eastwood does a grat job playing a DJ in the early 1970's and Jessica Walter does a great job of playing an obseesed stalker.
Good movie if you want to see Clint Eastwood play something other than a cop or cowboy.
The Originals Are Always the Best........2007-04-02
In an age when Hollywood can seem to do nothing original, and the Silver Screen is awash with remakes, it's nice to go back and revisit the artistry of which the film industry has made hash.
A tense psychological thriller, Play Misty for Me is the template from which the likes of Fatal Attraction sprang.
Clint Eastwood plays a terminally cool yet sensitive late night jazz DJ who, while estranged from girlfriend Donna Mills, has a one night stand with Jessica Walter.
As her obsession grows, her violent emotions manifest themselves first against herself in a manipulative suicide attempt, and then against the others in Eastwood's life.
Edgy, hard, and oh, so seventies, the tension ramps smoothly with Walter's character's escalating psychosis until the final scene where bloodied and exhausted, a single punch to the face sends Walter through a french door, and over the edge of a terrace to fall to the cold Pacific below.
Clint Eastwood as actor and director does a good job of making the characters believable and sympathetic. Bravo.
Jim Bob says - Spend the money; it's worth a night in a darkened living room with a bowl of popcorn, wondering whether or not your ex-girlfriend really meant what she said when you dumped her.
An oldie - but a GOODIE!.......2007-02-06
Good "stalker" flick. Forerunner of Basic Instinct. This movie is really
"dated" in terms of dress & hair & music, but it is worth viewing for the performances of the young Clint Eastwood, Jessica Walter and Donna Mills.
This is one of my all-time favorite "rainy afternoon" movies!
Wears well.......2007-01-10
I first saw this movie on release as a teenager, and thought it was a great scary movie. The main reason I bought it now was to get a hold of the great Jerry Mulligan soundtrack. The whole family have enjoyed the film now, and leaving out the 70's gear and hairstyles, its a great thriller.
Some people won't take "no" for an answer.......2006-10-22
In this 1971 thriller (a directorial debut for Clint Eastwood), a California radio DJ, Dave Garver (Eastwood) finds himself stalked by an obsessed, crazed fan, Evelyn (Jessica Walter), with whom he has had a one-night stand. She makes his life a living hell--showing up at his home in the middle of the night, waiting for him outside his favorite hangout, and even ruining an opportunity-making business lunch for him. Now, this is not a woman who can't take "no" for an answer. She WON'T take "no" for an answer. And this isn't just a movie. There are real-life instances of "Play Misty for Me". As a matter of fact, "Misty" was based on a story by Universal Studios secretary Jo Heims about a friend of hers who was a stalker in the same vein as Evelyn.
Evelyn tells Dave that she loves him, but what she's feeling isn't love--it's obsession. Real love means respecting someone's space and privacy. And sometimes, it means taking "no" for an answer.

The words "subtle" and "Ashton Kutcher" rarely appear in the same sentence, but here goes: A Lot Like Love, a romantic comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet, is surprisingly and pleasantly subtle. The story starts when Emily (Peet, Igby Goes Down) and Oliver (Kutcher, Dude, Where's My Car?) meet on a flight to New York and have a tryst in the airplane bathroom. After a day's dalliance, they part and don't meet again for four years--when they meet, spend a day together, part, and don't meet again until...you begin to get the idea. The script could have been dangerously cute, but director Nigel Cole (who helmed the delightful Calendar Girls) carefully steers Peet and Kutcher, two actors not generally noted for their grasp of character nuance, towards fairly three-dimensional portrayals of two floundering twentysomethings who can't seem to find the right moment. There are a few rom-com cliches--at one point, Oliver serenades Emily in front of an audience of her neighbors--but most of the movie is low-key, engaging, and smacks of actual human experience. Also featuring Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle) and Kathryn Hahn (Anchorman). --Bret Fetzer
Description
In the spirit of WHEN HARRY MET SALLY comes A LOT LIKE LOVE, the romantic comedy about destiny and the possibilities of a chance encounter evolving into a close encounter of the happily-ever-after kind. Ashton Kutcher (GUESS WHO) and Amanda Peet (SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE) set off sparks as opposites who attract and have a one-flight stand from LA to New York. When the trip's over, they are too -- and both move on but can't really let go. As they search for love that doesn't end in disaster, they keep finding each other. And while the chemistry that first brought them together keeps generating heat, the timing is always wrong. This funny and disarming story of modern romance will have you falling in love over and over again.

Better than expected.......2007-05-28
I ignored this movie when it came out in theaters. I had assumed it would be dumb and corny. Then I saw it on one of the movie channels and bought the DVD the same night. It's every bit as funny as it's supposed to be, and much better overall than you think it's going to be. My wife is listening to the soundtrack and dancing around the room as I write this. Even the music is good. Ashton Kutcher does an excellent job playing Oliver, the man with the 6 year plan for the perfect life. Amanda Peet is extremely entertaining as the phantom girlfriend, here today and gone tomorrow, only to reconnect a few years later again and again. Amanda and Ashton are clearly having a genuinely good time together as they make this film, and you see that it's real when you watch the bloopers in the extra features. The ending is not entirely predictable, although you can't say you didn't see it coming. But even so, it doesn't matter because it's what you wanted anyway. This is a good movie. Trust me. You'll like it.

This movie is really great! I watch it over and over again. The stars in it are very good also and the ending is very good.
Flaccid, Time-Spanning Rom-Com Plays Strictly by the Numbers.......2007-04-17
There is a certain manufactured charm to this 2005 romantic comedy given its predilection to be a hybrid between When Harry Met Sally... and Before Sunrise/Before Sunset with faint echoes of any number of classic time-spanning romances like Same Time, Next Year and Two for the Road. Unfortunately, the comparisons do not benefit this film given the colorless way that first-time screenwriter Colin Patrick Lynch has spelled out the formulaic elements of the story. An additional burden falls on the attractive leads, Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet, neither of whom seem fully formed as screen personas with any gravitas to keep us interested in the hapless characters they portray.
Directed by Nigel Cole in a relatively adroit manner, the episodic story centers on Oliver and Emily, a case study in opposites who begin an unexpected relationship with a bathroom fling on a transcontinental flight to New York. They have a day-long romantic whirl once they touch ground but soon part with no expectation of seeing each other again. This episode represents the ongoing structure of the plot, as they continue to meet up again and again over the course of seven years, experiencing the inevitable sparks but allowing professional and romantic complications to act as a perpetual barrier to any lasting commitment.
Contrived plot turns as presented here could be at least redeemed by the charms of the stars, but this is a stumbling block. As he showed in 2005's Guess Who, Kutcher is simply too lightweight a presence on the big screen. Even though he achieves moments of subtlety, the overall effect he achieves is blandness. Looking a tad mature for her partner, Peet fares marginally better simply because her character arc seems more developed. Together they make a charming couple but hardly memorable nor emotionally resonant. The DVD comes with an equally colorless commentary track from Cole and producers Armyan Bernstein and Kevin Messick, along with a brief blooper reel, four deleted scenes of minimal interest, and a music video, "Brighter Than Sunshine", performed by Aqualung, one of many trendy artists featured on the soundtrack.
Lots of Fun!!!.......2007-04-04
I truly enjoyed this movie....the two main characters have great chemistry together. I do feel, however, that one of the deleted scenes should have been included as it explained more fully what had taken place during the year after Oliver's company received the VC money. Otherwise, I liked the film.

This is a terrible movie. Frank Marshall (Arachnophobia) demonstrates no control over story, actors, effects, or general presentation in this adaptation of a Michael Crichton novel about an expedition into deep, dark Africa that runs into an unknown race of killer apes. The big monkeys attack and attack and attack and have to be fought off with machine guns and lasers--that's pretty much the story, except there's probably an even better one behind "fourth Ghostbuster" Ernie Hudson's bizarre decision to speak with a British accent. While Marshall wants us to root for the human characters, they're all so obnoxious and unbelievable you can't help but feel lousy for the poor apes when they get chopped to bits just for defending their homes against these twerps. If you're not feeling enough environmentalist ire these days, watch this and get angry. --Tom Keogh

Not enough Monkey Business!.......2007-02-10
Everybody say CONGO is a film about scientists find killer gorillas in th rain forest. This is true, but before we get to the psycho monkeys, we have to sit trough hostile militants, the Hungry Hungry Hippos in their cruel retirement, and guys who just get this occasional urge to shoot planes out of the sky with seeker rockets that thwarted with flare guns. The killer gorillas show up in the first five minutes to kill Bruce Campbell (dang you monkeys!) and disappear until the last twenty minutes or so. And this film is 110 minutes.
Well, I guess I can't get too angry at CONGO, it at least has decent effect and a few cool action sequences. Those are really the only two good things I can say about this borefest. Stay away unless your a Michael Chritchon completest.
STOP EATING MY SESAME CAKE!!!.......2007-01-12
With a classic line like that, you cant go wrong.
Congo DVD.......2007-01-09
DVD received in new condition; no scratches; received in due time. Thank you!
The most underrated comedy of the 90's.......2006-12-11
People may make the mistake when viewing Congo in thinking that they are seeing a suspenseful action flick. On the contrary, it is in fact an unintentional jungle adventure spoof comedy. Ernie Hudson is hilarious and delivers great lines such as "I'm your great white hunter, though I happen to be black." Tim Curry is hilarious as always. The scene where Hudson, Linney and Curry are bribing the warlord is one of the best comedy scenes of the 90's (Seriously, who doesn't find "STOP EATING MY SESAME CAKE!" funny?) This movie was misrepresented as a thriller but in reality it is Crichton's successful stab at comedy. I give this funny piece of crap 5 stars.
The myth of the killer ape.......2006-11-17
I really liked this movie and thought it was a great adventure film. In a way it is kind of like the movie Anaconda only with killer gorillas instead of snakes.

Yes, Smothers Brothers.......2004-10-06
Sorry to disagree with William, but I remember being annoyed with them replacing Smothers Brothers with Hee Haw, and being pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Perhaps what he's remembering is a time slot difference in his area? I don't have the DVDs yet, so I can't speak to the quality of them, though I have no reason to doubt the other reviewers on that issue...
Too bad Time-Life acquired the rights to this show.......2004-09-01
It's wonderful to have the opportunity to acquire this show on DVD. The jokes are still as corny as ever, the music still as good as ever, and Junior's delivery still cracks me up.
The sad thing is, Time-Life is the company putting out the DVD's. This initial DVD is a poor value. One show and one highlight reel is all that is provided. Add to that the fact that the highlight reel includes numerous out-takes from the same premiere show included, and you're paying full price for basically one show.
Also, Time-Life has obviously not seen fit to restore any of the footage. Colors bleed badly (which is extremely obvious on a show with loud sets, lighting, and clothing), and grain is everywhere.
Should you buy this DVD, or the subsequent releases? Well, I doubt this show will ever be released as it should have been....in full season sets. So if you want to have copies of this classic, this is probably your only choice. Just prepare yourself to have deep pockets and low expectations.
Hee Haw Has Returned.......2004-08-05
I am tickled pink to see that Hee Haw is back for us to see again. I would never miss this when I was a kid. Maybe our kids today will find it funny (or just look at us weird). Now I am waiting for the Bewitched series to be put on DVD and my collection will be complete. Ahhh, the good ole' days.
Finally!.......2004-06-27
"Hee-Haw" can best be described as a country version of "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in," with plenty of good music thrown into the mix.
Dropped into the CBS schedule in June 1969 as a summer replacement for "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour" (not the "Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" as indicated on the DVD cover--their show had come to an abrupt and controversial end several weeks earlier), "Hee-Haw" was to run a scant 13 weeks and then disappear forever...but Nielsen numbers attract attention, and the show was a ratings favorite throughout its summer '69 run...CBS returned it to the air at the earliest opportunity a few months later, and the rest is history ("Hee-Haw May Have the Last Laugh" declared a TV Guide news brief in mid-summer '69, describing the show's unexpected ratings success and CBS' desire to continue with the program as soon as there was room on the schedule).
Though the show lasted many years, my favorite episodes remain those first 13--this DVD showcases the premiere episode, plus a compilation bonus called "Hee-Haw Laffs," which first appeared on VHS tape several years ago.
"Hee-Haw" was fast-paced, funnier than "Rowan and Martin's Laugh in," and the musical breaks always featured top country talent showcased at their best.
Time-Life's presentation of the show is wonderful. Even the opening slate, featuring the scheduled broadcast date, is included, as is the brief Burma Shave inspired "We'll be back in a minute" station break blurb that was only a part of those first 13 episodes. I'm so grateful someone preserved these tapes--though some chroma noise is evident, quality is remarkably good overall.
This was such a welcome DVD discovery, and a mail order catalog received yesterday indicates that future volumes are forthcoming quickly! I hope so, as I'll be eagerly awaiting their arrival.
Well Where Are You Tonight?.......2004-06-10
This tune mentioned and the title as well as "Gloom Despair and Agony on Me" (not included in this DVD) will bring smiles to any child of the 70s who was too young to go out on Saturday night and watched this with your family. Yes, Jr. Samples, Grandpa Jones, Minnie Pearl and Buck & Roy are all back with good old fashioned country corn. This is the first episode from 1969 and the extras only feature some other gags that already exist in this same show. The show never changed that much over the next 20 odd years, which was part of its charm. Country music fans will also be pleased to see a young Loretta Lynn and Charley Pride (singing "Kaw Liga") along for the ride, although neither of them interact with the Kornfield Kounty gang as later guests would.
People who did not see this the first time around may not "get it" or be amused at all. Your kids in particular may look at you like idiots while you laugh and smile at this. But if you remember this at all, you'll join in with the Kornfield Kounty Krew as they sing HEE HEE HEE HAW HAW HAW HEE HAW without worrying about what anyone else thinks!

Chill Out, Man. It's A Teaser.......2006-10-13
People need to take a chill pill who keep giving this movie and others like it a bad rating. This movie and others like it are what they are and that's TEASERS. If you want hardcore you know where to go, stop giving softcore such bad ratings. If you love to watch sexy women doing anything from great to silly things, or you just love to watch women, these softcores are it. If you want hardcore go to the video store, sattlelite or cable providers. Teasers are great. So just sit back, relax, chill out and enjoy watching women doing... stuff... great or silly.
It's amazingly silly!.......2006-01-15
Sometimes so called "video productions" of this type is so bad, that it's even interesting and funny. Not this one! The cheapest, silliest, stupidest thing I ever saw. Good packaging, though! I am sure it sales. Don't bother - just throw your money in the garbage - same effect.
mildly funny, but not much erotic.......2005-07-11
This film is mildly enjoyable as a spoof of Lord of the Rings, but as an erotic film it's incredibly tame. I was surprised how little nudity is in it since it's played up as being such a sexy film. Since that's got to be the reason a lot of people watch it, why in the world did the producers not have some of the sexy babes who are in it romp around topless or totally in the buff through most of the film??? If you buy it to see such titillation, you'll find yourself mostly waiting for a few brief flashes every now and then. I think the overall low production values, such as the poor acting, also work against it being much erotic. So if you're getting this to watch in a mixed group or as a LOTR spoof it's OK, but forget about getting it for any kind of erotic turn-on.
Hits the G-Spot!.......2005-04-15
Obviously, "Lord of the G-Strings" is an enjoyable spoof on "Lord of The Rings", and a pretty well-done one at that, considering the usual in this genre. The actresses are gorgeous, the film is essentially surrounded in beauty, though the dialogue is predictably weak, as is the acting, but it is all in good fun, after all. "Schmirnoff" The Wizard is a likable goofball, the Orcs here called "Dorcs" are a bumbling lot, "Dildo Saggins" takes the place of Bilbo Boggins as an enchanting girl who possesses the omnipotent G-String which must be destroyed lest it be captured by "Sourasse", who's primary weaponry consists of his deadly sulphurus emanations, battles Schmirnoff in the end. Accompanying Dildo throughout "Diddle Earth" are two lovely "Throbbit" companions who routinely pleasure each other in a lesbian lust-fest at every opportunity, although the most remarkable scenes have to be the orgy beside the camp-fire {which lasts a generous amount of time, accompanied with Middle-Eastern music which was a really great touch}, and in the pub with a very randy waitress redhead. The resident Dryad seems to be misplaced, and the two faeries are annoying until they join in the fun.
Towards the conclusion of the film, it unfortunately takes a steep direction with the inclusion of a cell-phone and a really lazy effort at the celebration by all present. The main thrust of this presentation is Lesbianism, with only one man/woman scene, although it is very entertaining nonetheless.
Eye candy all around.
For those Who Thought Lord of The Rings was too Geeky.......2005-02-04
Come on. You got the "one g-string" Who doesn't like hot naked people in a very funny porn parody of LOTR. This is great. Plus you got hottie hot hottie Misty Mundae. She likes to do things. Can't let the erotic-y g-string fall onto the bodies of evildoers can you? This is on every time we get a free weekend of Cinemax of HBO on out sattellite. I think this is the movie that sells people to buy HBO. Fun and sexy.

Customer Reviews:
Good story with a lot of talent, but not enough heat........2006-03-13
The Seduction of Misty Mundae could have been a softcore classic, but didn't deliver sufficiently in too many of the sex scenes for me to be really impressed.
The story was great. Young, innocent, curious Misty has to visit her aunt for a week. Under the guidance of her more experienced aunt, Misty begins to act on her sexual desires. The main actresses, Misty and Julian Wells, did very well. The technical aspects (video, audio, cinematography) of the movie were also very good. But enough of that. This is a softcore review.
There are seven sex scenes. Two are boy/girl, two are girl/girl, two are girl solo, and one is girl/girl/girl. Five of them didn't impress me much. The masturbation scenes were short and too tame. One of the boy/girl scenes only consisted of oral sex on the guy. The other boy/girl scene focused entirely on Misty's face. I'm sure that was intentional and she did give a great orgasm, but the scene was R rated, at best. The girl/girl/girl scene was weak and had no relevance to the story. I'm sure it was only there as a way to shoehorn Darian Cane into the movie.
The two girl/girl scenes were much better. The first one was between Julian and Allanah Rhodes. Both women are attractive and the scene was decently explicit. The second scene was the last scene in the movie. It was an epic fifteen minute coupling between Misty and Julian. It had a LOT of really hot kissing and foreplay between the two women. When it got to the real action, things just got better. Misty gives an excellent orgasm and Julian delivered a pretty good one too.
If you're a Misty Mundae fan, or curious to see her in something, I'd recommend this one. But if you're looking for lots of hot, explicit, softcore sex, then I'd say pass.
The perfect Girl Next Door.......2006-01-31
If you enjoy seeing the innocent Girl Next Door do all of the things you always wished she would do, then this is the movie for you. Misty Mundae is perfect as a pure, yet sad, young girl who slowly discovers her sexuality under the tutelage of her aunt(?), Julian Wells. The acting, at least by Misty and Julian, is above average for this type of movie. The pure sensuality exuded by Misty is about the best you'll find in any movie. The full frontal shots of Misty, with her petite features, dark hair, and ivory skin, are not to be missed. This is actually the first Misty Mundae movie I've seen. I understand she's been in many more soft-core films, playing vampires and such, but for my money if you've ever fantasized about the Girl Next Door and the wonderful things you want her to do, then this is the movie to watch.
Far from my favorite Misty film, but a must-have for fans.......2006-01-22
The Seduction of Misty Mundae is sort of an homage to the work of Joseph Sarno by director/co-writer (and founder of eI Independent Cinema) Michael Raso. It's the story of the sexual awakening of an innocent young woman during a week-long stay with her aunt in the country. Misty Mundae was really the only actress in the Seduction Cinema stable right for the starring role; the film title included her name because she is the embodiment of the naïve, innocent, girl-next-door.
Misty is rather shy and withdrawn when she arrives at the home of Aunt Inga (Julian Wells) - who is the opposite of shy and withdrawn. Inga knows how to entertain herself (I think you know what I mean here), and she's none too quiet when she's doing it - which makes for quite an eye-opening experience for the inexperienced Misty. The curious young woman soon seeks Inga's guidance on the ways of womanhood, let us say, but it is a local boy who gives Misty her first sexual experience - one that is less than satisfactory, as the guy is a complete jerk. That bad experience sort of moves Inga to take more of a guiding hand in young Misty's sexual development, to the point of making sure that the lass, who arrived as a girl, leaves as a woman.
This is a quality film, worlds above most of the fluff Seduction Cinema has put out in the past. I just feel that the film drags at certain times, and the story doesn't explore the main characters as deeply as the director seems to think it does. Of course, when one of your co-stars shows up for the first day of shooting without having seen the script (that would be Julian Wells, and I should note that showing up with no idea about the movie you're about to make is by no means uncommon at Seduction Cinema), you're just not going to be able to plumb the depths of any character's soul. The erotic scenes themselves may disappoint some fans, as well, as they do tend to be slow-moving and fairly bland for the most part. For her part, though, Misty is wonderful, particularly in the later stages of the film. I don't like seeing her with a guy, but she handles those scenes exceptionally well. Although I'm not all that enamored with The Seduction of Misty Mundae as a whole, I do think it features some of Misty's best work.
Interestingly enough, it turns out that this was actually the first time Misty Mundae and Julian Wells worked together, which you would never know from watching the film, as the two seem to be very comfortable with one another. Although it was released during the last week of 2004, this film was actually shot in the fall of 2001. The delay doesn't mean this is a bad movie; it just somehow got lost in the shuffle. As usual, Seduction Cinema does throw a variety of goodies in with the film itself. You get a commentary with the director and producer, an interview with the director, a photo shoot with Julian Wells, a little behind-the-scenes footage, a music CD of the film's soundtrack, several trailers of upcoming films, and a "naughty vintage peep show" from 1965. The peep show isn't all that good (especially when you think about the fact that the skanky girl would now be a senior citizen), but the behind-the-scenes stuff is the biggest disappointment - it's about four minutes long and doesn't even include Misty Mundae. And why can't we have a Misty Mundae photo shoot if we're going to have one with the much less attractive Julian Wells? As for the soundtrack (which is performed by the Pink Delicates and includes a number of bonus cuts from the film Curious Obsessions), it isn't all that bad (it's actually sort of relaxing), but it's not the kind of thing anyone is going to be jamming to on the way home from work.
Misty fans will definitely want to add this film to their collection - even if it isn't as entertaining or interesting as several of her other movies - because The Seduction of Misty Mundae does showcase much of Misty's limitless talent.
A sexy movie.......2005-11-20
If you are familiar with Misty Mundae, you will know that she is one sexy vixen who delivers the best. This movie is one of the sexiest Misty Mundae films and one of the sexiest movies ever. Don't hesitate to watch! BRAVO MISTY!
soft porn.......2005-10-31
The Seduction of Misty Mundae is a soft core lesbian porn film, stretched to two hours. The acting is ok (as far as soft core is concerned) The story is stereotyipcal: naive girls learns about sex from her aunt. The soft core porn is ok. Beside the incestuous scenes and simulated sex, the secne are not bad (though kind of disturbing, giving the subtleness of inces) It's an ok movie, if ony for Mundae's cuteness.

Finally, my prayers have been answered!.......2007-05-31
OH MY GOD!!!!! I have been searching for this movie for at least 5 years! Turns out I was spelling Cucamonga wrong. I haven't seen this movie for at least a decade and it was one of my absolute favorites growing up. I highly recommend it to everyone who's a fan of the cheesy 80's!
Best Film from Childhood!!!!.......2007-03-09
I remember when I first watched this movie when it came out, I was only around 11 years old and I absolutely loved it. I taped it and watched it a lot. When I saw that it was released on DVD I was excited because I had not seen it in a long time. I highly recommend this movie because I still found that it was highly entertaining. I think a big part of its entertainment value for me rests on that it brought me back to my childhood. I think that children will love this movie as I did. This movie is the reason I decided to go to camp when I was younger. I recommend this movie to everyone but especially kids around 10-13 years old I think that they would really enjoy it.
90's Flick.......2006-08-17
I watched this movie when I was growing up and it is a great early 90's movie - the clothes, the "cool" words and hair styles! Its a great "back in the day" movie. I recommend it to anyone who remembers "Urkel" or "DJ" from Full House or even "Winnie Cooper" from The Wonder Years!
Definitely 5 stars!
Made for TV now on DVD.......2006-02-01
I had remembered seeing this movie on tv as a kid. This moive is filled with former abc sitcom stars. Jennifer Aniston before friends was just as atractive then as she is now if not more.
My favourite Movie Ever!!!!!.......2005-07-01
This was my favourite movie when I was growing up - watched it 1000 times. I live in New Zealand and the DVD still plays in our machines (I was told it wouldn't). BUY IT - YOU WILL LOVE IT!

English teach to Coach!.......2007-02-12
When a black man is sent to the Res to teach English is rooked into becoming the coach for the girls basketball team. There are many ups and downs to this great movie. I can't say enough about the morals and lessons these girls learned from this tough man. It is a terrific movie. In the end, they are truly surprised. I very much reccommend this DVD!
Racism in Reverse.......2006-07-11
The interesting aspect of this movie to me was the subtle racism between the Indians and the black teacher/coach, Kenny. Underlying it all, both sides really just wanted to be treated for themselves, but both sides had experienced racism toward their race or culture so they behaved as if they expected it. Kenny was used to being treated as a 'nigger' so he'd built up a shell that was difficult for the girls to penetrate. The Navajo girls also were used to being treated as 'mere Indians,' such as by the referees in their games, so they automatically felt like giving up. It was by talking out their feelings, openly and honestly, that both the coach and the team players were able to grow into more mature, successful people. Both sides made mistakes, but they seemed to learn from them with some pain ways to overcome their unconscious negative expectations. This is a a wonderful area of discussion for families; Everyone knows that they are not supposed to be 'racist' against others; but how does unconsciously expecting to be treated in a racist manner alter one's own perception of the world? How might that affect one's chances of becoming successful in their life?
A Low Key But Powerful Treat.......2006-04-29
I saw this film on cable on a weekday afternoon, one of those films you will probably not catch otherwise: quirky subject, no big stars, no budget. The plot sounded interesting: black coach, played by the always solid James McDaniel (rarely seen, at least by me, since he left NYPD Blue), coaching a girls basketball team on a reservation. This could be gritty and important, I thought--or sappy and predicatable, another cliched tale of the underdog winning the big game. Pretty quickly it became clear that this was a gritty and realistic film. The coach is a complicated character, not always likeable, occassionally downright awful. The girls are equally realistically drawn. The conflicts we know to be present on Indian reservations around the country are not hidden: unemployment, poverty, alcoholism, bitterness, etc. Sound grim? Somehow this tiny film finds a way to present what could a grim, downbeat story as dramatic, moving, and even funny. Only later did I discover the director is Chris Eyre, a filmmaker with real and obvious talent (see Skins and Smoke Signals). So that this movie made us believe in the reality and humanity of its mostly Native characters is no surprise. This is not a perfect movie by any means. The rival school and its all blonde basketball team and obnoxious coach are cliched. More backround on McDanial's character would have helped. But given that, this is actually a stirring, moving film, an unlikely combination of Eyre's earlier Skins and Hoosiers. You end up caring deeply about these girls and their lives. The basketball scenes are exciting. (I won't give away the ending...just to say the girls indeed overcome many obstacles to go to the state championship). McDaniel is indeed interesting and believable as always (know him only from Blue? Check him out in Spike Lee's Malcom X). Wes Studi is equally interesting and believable. Heck, the whole cast is interesting and believable. This will literally make you laugh and make you cry, and the movie earns both emotions legitimately. Check it out.
Great film for everyone!.......2006-03-08
Chris Eyre (Director Smoke Signals, Skins) dribbles us onto the hard court of Three Nations woman's Basketball. Kenny Williams (James McDaniel) is running from his past. He takes an English teaching position on the Three Nations Reservation in Utah. Unbeknownst to school administrators he is black man. This puts him as a mark for the native students.
Kenny needs some additional income so he thinks of coaching the dismal O'fer Lady Warrior's basketball team. The interim coach Annie (Irene Bedard) is more of a mother than a coach. The local do-it-all Cuch (Wes Studi) convinces Kenny to coach the woman's basketball team. Coach Williams soon learns that he is fighting an uphill battle with teamwork and Native family traditions especially Mother Tsosie. (Geraldine Keams)
I absolutely adored this film and totally related to this film. The woman's balling at my old all Native high school was just as competitive with the more expensed mostly white high schools. The gym, attendance and excitement took me back to the days of playing ball for the love of it and close-knit teammates.
I try not to be a nit pick on an overall good film, but the film started off with some shaky camera angles following Kenny to the Three Nations reservation. (Personal preference) It was probably due to the handheld cameras. After a few minutes it disappeared. Filming the basketball action was comparable to other basketball films that I have seen. But I wished I would have seen the free throws.
Carla (Delanni Studi), Shirleen (Misty Upham) and Marissa (Deanna Allison) are some of the talented actresses that make up the basketball team. Leroy McKinney (Tim Daly/Producer) is the father of Carla who struggles with the loss of his wife. And the angry, outspoken Franklin (Eddie Spears) is Carla's boyfriend plays his character outstanding. This film contains a lot of talented Native actors who are now more popular since filming.
This film was filmed in 2002 for Showtime. Maybe it's just me but these films need to get released to the general public faster. Though, money is always at the root of the problem. I have to give kudos to Annie Humphrey's songs that fit perfectly for this film.
Purchase this DVD for the entire family. There are not many extras on the DVD, but there is a filmography for the main actors.
"Did You Know The Basketball Is Round Just Like Mother Earth?" - Learning That Imperfection Is Beauty.......2006-03-06
Can an uptight, black high school teacher make a difference teaching dis-illusioned Native American high school students at Three Nations Reservation? He will if he's successful transforming the girls basketball team from perennial doormats/losers to a hard working, fastbreaking team of winners.
A insightful look into modern day life and times on the Reservation courtesy of director Chris Eyre. James McDaniel gives a solid perfomance as Kenny Williams, the new teacher and coach. Irene Bedard is as always beautiful as the previous coach and mentor to coach Williams. Also excellent supporting role by Wes Studi.
While 'Edge of America' doesn't rank up there with other sports films like 'Rudi' or 'Saint Ralph' it's still a heartwarming story and a wonderful way to spend an evening with the family!
