I liked this!.......2007-06-06
I liked this! While it doesn't rank as superb when it comes to intellectual prowess (most horror doesn't), I can say that I was effectively mesmerised by the tales to be told. My favourite? The "Salome" story, although the tale about the child-witch I found somehow abhorrent, as I do not like stories about evil little children.
More Classic Horror.......2006-11-07
I am a huge fan of Robert Bloch and he delivers in this movie. It's great fun. Lots of atmosphere.
The two stars are for Christopher Lee........2006-10-30
This Amicus horror anthology film has got to be the weakest in the series, the storylines were terrible and very dull and most of the time it looked like it was very outdated not to mention that the last episode about a washed up actor who turns into a vampire was not funny. Usually these Amicus films are fun to watch and not scary but good however this film just dragged along, the episode with Christopher Lee in it was the best one and the only one that was worth watching and Ingrid Pitt as a sexy vampire thats it, what a waste.

British Sterling.......2006-08-26
While the 'horror' factor of this type of movie has diminished if not disappeared altogether in todays sfx laden movie industry, the attention to character and detail is all the more moved to the forefront. What these movies lack in chills and thrills they more than make up for in story telling and riveting performances. Mr. Lee and Mr. Cushing and in this movie especially Mr Pertwee (of Dr. Who fame) have a high old time playing their roles to the hilt. Kids should still find some chills and parents will rediscover why these films have stayed in the collective memory. So go ahead...buy and enjoy...and critics be damned!
