5 out of 5 stars Come On.......2007-07-01

You people are just trying to make a buck on this man's death just last week you had it for a normal price now your trying to selling it for 80-100+ dollars.

This DVD shows the man's life and should not be for someone making a quick buck.

5 out of 5 stars Don't let 2 days cloud your past judgement of a man and his career!.......2007-06-30

I hope this DVD will at least hold some symbolance of a legacy for his character and work ethic. I love you Chris, I hope whatever problems there were have been worked out with the only one who can judge you, and that's God. I am hoping you had your faith placed in Christ, especially with your relationship with Eddy, and he being Born-Again.

You may also want to checkout www.highspots.com for this wonderful DVD set. They still have it priced at a reasonable price of $17.99 plus shipping.

Chris Jericho has given the best interview, and he has hit on all the points I've been thinking. I had the pleasure of meeting Chris on several occassions, at Wrestling events, and after events in personal settings, and he was a class act. Please read the recap below, to see how one of his closest peers knew and saw him to be.

.....

Nancy Grace then introduced Chris Jericho, introducing him as "a name you all know, wrestling superstar and dear friend of Chris Benoit. Jericho was asked for his thoughts on everything he's heard them discuss and how the story has hit him. Jericho said, "It's almost a tale of two cities, a tale of two people. There was the Chris Benoit that had these horrendous acts of extreme psychopathic lunacy in the last couple of days of his life. Then there's the Benoit I myself traveled with, lived with, said I love you to on many occasions - he was my mentor, he was one of my best friends and he was a brother to me in so many ways. The fifteen years I knew him and the two days that he decided to do these horrible horrible acts, it's hard to kind of discern the two and that's why we have to find out what would make a mild-mannered, polite, influential, tremendous person and performer to do such things. Is steroids a reason? I think it goes a lot deeper than that. I think we're seeing a man with some severe psychological, troubled issues that held them in for far too long until everything combined to cause him to snap in such a horrible way."

Grace noted that Jericho spent "many, many years" with Benoit and asked him if Benoit ever spoke with him about Daniel's condition. Jericho responded, "No and see, this is why I really wanted to come talk to you, Nancy, and try to explain a little of Chris Benoit the man to some of the people that never heard anything about wrestling and don't know anything about him and the millions of fans and hundreds of co-workers that he influenced in such a positive way and entertained. He was a very quiet man, but not a recluse and not a hermit. Just quiet. He minded his own business but he was always around. If there was a joke, he would laugh and in all of the years I was with him, I never saw anything. If I went nuts and wanted to beat somebody up, he was the guy who would contain me. A lot of people can tell you that and as far as knowing Daniel's condition, it wouldn't surprise me. I'm saying this seriously, if even his parents didn't even know. If Chris had decided he wanted to keep it to himself, you wouldn't have been able to pry it out of him for anything. I don't know anybody - myself or any of his close friends, his co-workers, his boss, who knew or even suspected anything about him having Fragile X. Yet as soon as I read the symptoms of Fragile X, it fit Daniel to a Tee all across the board."

Grace asked Jericho in what ways. "The lack of social skills, hard to make eye contact, intense shyness, flapping of the hands- I remember that was one thing I read; ADHD, a very kind of a hyper little guy. Even to the point of his ears being a little bigger, his head was a little bit larger. You don't think much about those things; some kids grow into themselves over the years, but now that you read it, you can kind of see where this all ties in. I remember a few years ago at a Wrestlemania party, my son, who was a year and a half old spoke more and better than Daniel did at four and a half at the time. They were playing and I just thought Dan was like his father, quiet and naturally withdrawn. Now you can see there were indications it was something more than that."

Grace asked if the symptoms Jericho described and whether they matched Fragile X. He said many of them do. She then asked if it would lead to stunted growth and he said that it was a tough call to say based on what little they know about Fragile X syndrome.

Jericho was asked whether Benoit was upset about being demoted to ECW. Important to note here that the night before, Grace asked Bret Hart if Benoit was upset about being demoted from "The Four Horsemen to Raw". Jericho said that was "such a fabrication" and explained the three WWE brands. He noted Benoit was champion of the Raw brand, then moved to the middle of the Smackdown brand. He said, "To better utilize his talents because he was, across the board, the best wrestler in WWE and anyone will probably tell you that. The move was twofold. One, he was about to become ECW champion. Two, ECW is full of younger guys who are just learning and Chris was just a great trainer and so well respected that they wanted to help train some of these younger guys to help them with their future endeavors. So, to move Chris to ECW, Chris would not see that as a demotion. He would see that as doing his job to help the business and keep it going. The business that he loved. Chris never had a job except for wrestling. He never delivered papers, he never worked in a convenience store. He would have seen this as a honor."

Grace said that it sounded as if Benoit was turning into more of a trainer. Jericho said, "No, he was about to become the ECW champion. A champion is a champion, right?"

A caller asked about Benoit's other children in Canada. Jericho said that they are doing the best they can to try and deal with it. He said that you have to imagine how they feel losing their father at this age and the way they did. He said he knows they will do well but it's going to be hard.

WWE's disclosure that Benoit passed his most recent Wellness test on April 10th.

She then said she wanted to go to Jericho because he knows Benoit, "better than us. He's known him for years. They are very dear friends." Grace asked Jericho if he can imagine Benoit doing this cool-headed. Jericho said absolutely not and commented that the argument was, "getting away from the story. Steroids or no steroids, it was still a man who had a very severe problem that no one knew about - maybe his wife did - I don't know, but no one I knew or that Chris talked about had any indication of these tendencies. This is not about steroids, this is not about wrestling; this is about finding out about the mental problems this man had to cause him to snap in such a brutal form. I love Chris Benoit. I hate the fact of what he did."

"Nancy, that's the dichotomy of this this, that's the problem. Chris loved his children - all three of them. He talked about them constantly and went out of his way to go home, even for a few hours to see his sons, Daniel for sure. That's why you can't comprehend it. Was it steroids? Maybe, but I don't want to hang everything on steroids. He didn't suddenly take a shot of steroids and said, 'I'm going to go crazy.' This is something that had been building in him for many years, obviously to snap like that and go insane and take away the most important thing in his life. I know it, because he told me - all three of his children were the most important thing.

Jericho said it was a random testing that was held by an independent corporation and said it was a "real, true, stringent drug test that gets results." He said if you are caught, you are fined and suspended and that if they asked Vince McMahon for a list of names suspended in the last six months, he would provide it.

That ended the discussion.

Quick Thoughts: Of all the guests, Jericho brought a human face to the tragedy and the hardship that many in the business are facing in trying to come to terms with what exactly happened. His comments that this goes beyond steroids and within Benoit's psyche was the voice of reason that has been needed all week from someone inside the business.

4 out of 5 stars you people are sick!.......2007-06-29

I had to write this, you people sellin this are sick and i dont know if its the same product that was up there last week but last week i saw THESE same dvds for like 7 , 8 10 bucks now people are sellin them for over 100? 1 out of 5 stars Very Insensitive.......2007-06-27

I will go right to the point. The person who approved putting up a link to a Chris Benoit DVD along with the news of the death's of Chris Benoit & his family should be reprimanded at the least.
I am sure that this was put up in the hours after the news came out. However, knowing what we know now the entire blurb about the deaths & the dvd link should be removed.

Just my opinion

5 out of 5 stars Benoit.......2007-06-27

I watched this video last night, and if you wnat to learn who he was as a person, you need to watch this. I am hurt and feel a little betrayed by what has happened, as I am a huge Chris Benoit fan. The fact is, soemthing happened in that house we may never know. It does not take away from how great Chris was in the ring. This DVD will actually show you what most of his friends and fans new him to be, toally classy. The fact is, everyone is judging him. We may never really know what happened in that house over the traggic weekend.

The definitive surf movie, this 1966 documentary by Bruce Brown is beautifully shot and thrilling to see in its portrait of youthful freedom on the world's shores. Brown followed two surfers around the globe in their quest for the perfect wave, finding it eventually on a remote beach far from home. The narration by "Big Kahuna Brown" cuts through the reverence a bit, being cheeky in tone. --Tom Keogh

5 out of 5 stars You don't have to surf to like this movie.......2007-03-06

I'm not a surfer. In fact, I don't think I've ever toughed a surfboard.
But I do like the BEACH BOYS!! Anyway, the point is; you don't have to surf to enyjoy this film. I've always been interested in the sport but never got involved. Sort of an armchair surfer, I guess. This is a great film and very exciting to watch. Bruce Brown did an amazing job and the overall look of the film is great. Following the two young surfers around the world in search of the perfect wave is an interesting concept and was well executed. The scenery is great, the surfing scenes are great, and I really enjoyed this movie. So, if you are a surfer,or, like me, just a spectator, you will like ENDLESS SUMMER. I know, I'll put a TV in my bathroom, splash around in the tub and watch ENDLESS SUMMER II tonight.

5 out of 5 stars Return to sunnier days!.......2007-02-17

This movie plays just as well as when it came out. A cold, snowy New England winter faded from my mind as I was transported around the world and back in time to a simpler era. The photography is spectacular and the talent of the surfers is without question. What a great escape! I'll be watching it a lot this winter and for years to come.

5 out of 5 stars The Ageless Summer.......2007-02-01

It was a fantastic movie when it was first released and it is still just as good. Great photography, good narrative. Makes me long for the summer days I used to spend on the beach at Santa Cruz.

5 out of 5 stars Im Might Not Be A Surfer..........2007-01-17

I Might Not Be A Surfer But I Really Like This Movie. I Thought It Was Gona Be One Of The Worst Things I'll Ever Buy But I Really Gotta Say This Movie Is One Of My Top 10 Favorite Movies In General.

5 out of 5 stars Don't Miss This Classic!.......2006-11-05

I hadn't seen Endless Summer since it was first released in theaters...a long time ago. WOW...Did it bring me back. The music, the filming: top notch and captivating. A trip down Memory Lane when life was simpler and my madras shorts weren't old-school.

In addition to boasting one of the most astonishing opening sequences in the history of extreme-sports filmmaking, Billabong Odyssey offers a breathtaking survey of big-wave surfing at a pivotal stage in its evolution. With the advent of Jet-Ski Waverunners used for "tow-in" access to gigantic waves that paddle-surfers could never reach, this three-year, globe-trotting quest for the world's biggest waves is nothing less than spectacular. As documentaries go it's a bit cruder than 2003's other surfing movie, Step Into Liquid, and many of the same world-class surfers appear in both films (including 49-year-old Ken Bradshaw, still going strong). But Billabong is unrivaled in its abundance of jaw-dropping footage--most of it shot from helicopters hovering in close proximity--showing the sheer, terrifying scale of breaking "tubes"--some reaching 100 feet--at the most challenging big-wave locations on the planet, including Maverick's at Santa Cruz, California; Cortes Bank off the Pacific Coast; "Cyclops" in Australia; Mundaka, Spain; and the treacherous "Jaws" reef on the coast of Maui, Hawaii.

While touching on various hot topics such as safety training, serious wipe-outs, swell-tracking technology, female surfers (like the great Layne Beachley), and hydrofoil surfboards (billed as "the future of the sport"), director Philip Boston applies a casual, competitive structure that's too diffuse and lightweight to have much impact. But when the film focuses on the climactic "Jaws" showdown between Carlos Burle and Mike Parsons, Billabong Odyssey achieves a state of raw power and spiritual intensity, culminating in Parsons' best-ever 10-point ride on a massive tube that constantly threatens to consume him. As dozens of adrenaline-junkie surfers strive for new horizons of unprecedented skill, Billabong Odyssey chronicles their efforts with amazing bird's-eye cinematography. For surfers and non-surfers alike, this movie must be seen to be believed. --Jeff Shannon

5 out of 5 stars Wow.......2007-05-13

I definitely enjoyed this movie for the shear terror you feel every time you see these madmen screaming across the waves with thousands of pounds of liquid ready to crush them at a moments notice. I also loved it for the fact that it showed all of these big named surfers getting together and going to most of the big name waves and just doing some awesome surfing.

Its an amazing film with wonderful places and powerful waves

Well photographed, and in depth with the world of big wave surfing. The locations are amazing, and it really shows how dificult riding those monsters is. Their training is intense and crazy. These guys make the wave!

    5 out of 5 stars The legend!.......2007-06-27

Let me first say that Eddie Guerrero wore his heart on his sleeve and was not only a brillant in ring performer but a great family. Thats more than I can say for his buddy Benoit. Eddie had a story book career which was well established before the time in the WWE. Eddie will always be missed and gained my highest respect. I would definitely buy this video! Its a phenomenal story about a brillant wrestler. Much gratitude to have been entertained by Eddie over the years.

5 out of 5 stars The main program is good, the matches are classics.......2007-05-14

I enjoyed the main program, which is an hour long and covers a bit about the life and turmoils of Eddie Guerrero. After reading his book first, the DVD doesn't really compare in terms of telling the story of his problems with drugs and alcohol, and his struggles to overcome them. However, you get a better feel about the kind of person Eddie was through the interviews.

The matches included on the DVD are AWESOME. I'd love another Eddie DVD, since there are a lot of classics not on here, but what they included for the most part is great. My only complaint is that they put a 6-man tag match on there from an AWA PPV with Eddie's brothers taking on Cactus Jack and two others. Eddie wasn't in this match, and the match wasn't very good. I don't know why it was included.

5 out of 5 stars A must buy for any fan!.......2006-12-10

I loved this disk. This is what every WWE superstar disk should be like. Eddie was so open during the documentary. From him losing it all to becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. The matches are top notch and so are the extras. Even without him dying I would say this. A must buy if you like good wrestling. A must buy.

4 out of 5 stars Great but Eddie deserves more.......2006-08-12

It's great that a Eddie tribute dvd is being released but he deserves another dvd where it has his matches on it. I mean the next dvd just has matches on it by his mexican friends.

What I'd like to see iin another dvd with matches by Eddie is:
more matches with Dean Malenko in ECW, WCW and the WWE,
    vs DDP (U.S. title),
vs Syxx in a Ladder match at NWO Souled Out (U.S title),
his first match ever against Rey in WCW,
vs Chyna vs Jericho "i think Jericho was in the match anyway "it could've been Angle", I just know Eddie lies cheats and steals and pins his on screen g/f Chyna (IC title)
    vs RVD
    vs Edge
vs John Cena in a street fight,
    vs Rey (World title),
vs Kurt Angle at WM (World title),
vs The Big Show on Smackdown where he won,
    vs J.B.L. in a steelcage
vs J.B.L. vs Booker T. vs Undertaker "he's the best thing about the match"
his last match against Beniot at a ppv at ECW One Night Stand,
vs Rey Mysterio at SummerSlam in a Ladder match,
vs Rey in a steelcage on Smackdown,
    vs Batista (World title)

Extras: Eddie vs Chavo in WCW when Chavo wins, Tribute matches for him on Raw and Smackdown like: Beniot vs HHH, Rey vs HBK and Chavo vs J.B.L. Goodbyes by Beniot, Rey, Chavo, HHH, J.B.L, Stephanie and Vince Macmahon.

    1. HECTOR, CHAVO & MONDO GUERRERO vs CACTUS JACK & THE RPM's (AWA SuperClash 3. December-13, 1988- In this match edie does not wrestle or even appere which makes this match interesting. I liked the pace and it seemed like the right way to go with an old school match. About a 7 minute macth and i wish foley could have got in more here. WInners HECTOR, CHAVO & MONDO GUERRERO. MAtch Rating 7/10.

    2. EDDIE GUERRERO & `LOVE MACHINE' ART BARR vs OCTAGON & EL HIJO SANTO (AAA When Worlds Collide. November-6, 1994): This is a 2 out of 3 falls `Hair vs Mask' match from one of the most famous ppv cards of the 1990's. But the rules are weird in that both members of a team being pinned equals 1 fall. How the hell can 2 pinfalls be classified as 1 fall!?!?!? Eddie is terrific in this match & opens up tremendously. Barr is not far behind him & is the proverbial heat machine. They dominate the early going & pin both their opponents to get the first fall by the 4 minute mark! The heels continue to dominate in the 2nd fall, but Octagon scores 2 quick pinfalls literally out of nowhere to even the score at the 11 minute mark. The 3rd & final fall thankfully adds some time to the match & there is some sensational spots. However, it's also a total mess in some respects. I understand that Lucha Libre has some different tagging rules, but I didn't think you could just walk in whenever you wanted to, in full view of the referee!

The result is also just too unbelievable as each face beats 2 men despite being dominated to that point in time. While the match lasts 22 minutes on the DVD, it should be noted that an edit of some length is included. Terribly hard to rate, but too much confusion & unbelievability to rate too highly. Eddie is terrific though, showing his pace at the beginning, while highlighting his suplexes in his final showdown with Santo. Barr is also great with a variety of moves (dropkicks, frog splash & jumping tombstone piledriver) that definitely caught my eye. Don't let the match rating suggest that this bout shouldn't be on this DVD. It most definitely fits perfectly. Winners EDDIE GUERRERO & `LOVE MACHINE' ART BARR. Match Rating 8/10.

    3. EDDIE GUERRERO vs DEAN MALENKO (ECW. August-26, 1995- This was a 2 out of 3 falls macth and i really liked this. Malenko was never given enough credit and i think he put on a really good match here. The first two falls were ok but i liked there 3ed fall excpet it ended in a draw. Really nice soild wresltling in this match. Winner draw. Match Rating 9/10.

    4. Chris Jerico vs. Eddie Guerrero for the wcw sruiserwieght title- I really liked this match. Very good way to open the ppv. Nice job gievn these two 17 minutes but the only thing i did nto like was that jericos back was worked on alot here. Not awsome but very sold and told a good story. WInner and new wcw cruiserwieght champ eddie guerero. Match Rating 8.5/10.

    5. EDDIE GUERRERO vs DEAN MALENKO (ECW. August-26, 1995- This is one hell of a match/ U talk about well placed this is one of wcw best m,atches they had put on. This was a mask vs. title match whcih made this interesting. About 14 minutes long and could have been alot londer for all i care. The fast paced action in this amcth is so awsome u wont want to leave the tv onece for thgis one. WInner and new wcw cruiserwieght champ rey mysterio. Match Rating 9/10.

    6. EDDIE GUERRERO vs CHAVO GUERRERO Jr (WCW Bash At The Beach. July-12, 1998)in a hair vs. hair match- I liked this match as well and the fact that they added thsi a hair vs. hair macthj made this even better. Nice soild wrestling match and though it was not awsome it was the right way to kick off the next dvd. WInner Eddie Guerrero. Match Rating 7.5/10.

    7. Edddie Guerrero vs. Rvd for the wwe itc title in aldder match (WWE Monday Night Raw. May-27, 2002- This was not an awsoem ladder match but for raw this was an awsome main event. I really liked this it was non stop 18 minutes of action and it did not dissoipent at all. This had alot of nice spoits includoing a few nice chir shots and rvd tried a 5 star frog splash off the ladder but fell. Overall ver good macth. WInner and new wwe itc champ Rvd. Match Rating 8.5/10.

    8. LOS GUERREROS vs EDGE & REY MYSTERIO vs KURT ANGLE & CHRIS BENOIT for the wwe tag team titles WWE Survivor Series. November-17, 2002- This macth i loved. The first time i watched this i wanted to watch it over and over agin. So many good wrestlers in this match. The macth started off ok with alot of the action controlled by angle and beniot with soild wrestling. Rey gets the hot tag and from there it is non stop action awsome match and one of the best ones on this dvd. WInenrs and new wwe tag team champ LOs Guerreros. mAtch Rating 9/10.

    9. Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Beniot for the wwe itc title- This was smackdowns first ppv and it did not dissapoint. I think this was a awsome way to kick off the show and it lived up to its hype. WIth just as little over 20 minutes of work here was bery steddy. WHen the next 12 was non stop action lots of near falls and just a ton of fun to watch even when there was interference. WInner and still wwe us champ eddie guerrero. mAtch RAting 8.5/10.

    10. Brock Lesner vs. Eddie Guerrero for the wwe title- This was an awosme 30 minute main event and is a really under rated match. This match had it all from the hype of the good storyline to the addition of bii goldberg this macth stole the show. Nice soild wrestling by both men and lesners last match as wwe champ and he as well did not dissopinet. Very good macth with a apprence by goldberg and lots of near falls. WInner and new wwe champ eddie guerrero. Match RAting 9/10.

Well that raps up another. I would give the eddie guerrero dvd a grade of 84/100 whci means thsi is a perfect ppv. This is an awsome dvd and must be bought rest in peace eddie we will miss u forever. If u can tell me if this review was helpful or not i would appreicate that. Thanks for your time

4 out of 5 stars Great Detail but must see it over and over again........2007-06-27

This was a great video for a novice or wanna be drifter (you know who you are..lol), I have been drifting for fun at courses for some time and this video did not teach me much but it did help me tune my techniuqe a little better and to be smoother with my drifts, great info about under powered cars and balance transfer, I feel that his drifts are much easier because of the downhill momentum and what looks like a humid and moist track, also the fact that he is driving a turbo charged car with probably overheated tires from difting so much in one course, you can really hear that bov in the background. He makes the underpowered rwd car slide easier with junkyard tires and weight transfer with some blipping of the throttle. A lot of practice is needed to learn the style from this drifter the way he wants you to, with a great suspension setup and good tires plus a lsd comes in handy for thoes dounuts and a rwd car is of course a lot of fun if you can get one and for that you need a very large track for the errors that most likley will happen like her says. the video is all in dubbed english and no subtitles so it might take a few veiws to actualy get it all in your head. I am happy to have this in my library and for the price it was still well worth it.

This is a super fascinating and helpful addition to anyone who's interested in "racing's" collection.

5 out of 5 stars The best bang-for-the-buck drift instruction........2007-03-06

To those who haven't seen this DVD and have or haven't seen any other DVDs from Best Motoring, it should be noted right away that this is not really an entertaining DVD, it is strictly an instructional video. As long as you know that you can't be dissapointed. At $10 this is the best drift instruction you're going to get! Everything is clear, linear, and right to the point. Keiichi Tsuchiya does a great job of demonstrating all of the main drift techniques, on different types of corners, and in all different types of cars (minus front-wheel-drive). They also use a screen-in-screen feature (note: standard for the video, NOT a DVD selectable option) that shows the in-car steering, pedal movements, and (if I'm not confusing it with other BMI videos) the tachometer as well. The one thing that I thought was really thoughtful in the making of this DVD is that they put a brake light on the front of the car so that you can see the braking points and timing from an outside-front view going into a corner. Tsuchiya even gives tips and demonstrates the best path to take as you start drifting such as just starting with low speed 180 degree turns with the parking brake and where to go from there. Normally I would nitpick about how there should be a little bit in here on tuning for different types of cars, but after you see it you realize that it's just meant to be about the driving and at a beginner's level at that. So, I give it 5 stars. It's $10, what have you got to lose?...other than $10.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Drift Viveo!.......2006-07-28

The Drift Bible is a very ecucational video for people that are serious about learning this new sport. And let's face it; it was a blast to watch!
The only negative feedback is that you don't want the video to end!
This vidoe comes with high recommendation!

    5 out of 5 stars Awesome! :).......2006-06-10

This was an xmas gift for my boyfriend, but secretly I wanted to see it too, so I used him as the excuse to purchase it ;)

The video was excellent, it goes into a lot of detail on how to perform the slides/drifts and overall it was really fun to watch. I got all excited just watching it, and then immediately after, of course, I wanted to jump in the car and practice, but it's sort of hard to do that on city streets... without attracting cops at least, haha!

If you would like to download samples or view the entire video please visit freeyogavideo.com. If you're interested in learning yoga but are concerned that most beginner tapes are too difficult for you, Evamarie's Introduction to Yoga: Gentle, for Extreme Beginners is an excellent solution. Set in an ambient outdoor location to the elegant cello and guitar music of Montana Skies (montanaskiesmusic.com), this soothing dvd opens with a light and breezy warm-up to stimulate deep breathing and prepare the muscles for the yoga routine. Special emphasis is placed on proper posture and body alignment. Evamarie then leads you through basic standing postures and stretches (no one-leg balancing positions or other advanced positions), followed by floor poses that help promote strength and flexibility of the back, abdomen, arms, chest and legs. Evamarie demonstrates the postures clearly, with easy-to-understand verbal cues. Evamarie's voice is deep and soothing, yet upbeat. Her final relaxation and meditation puts a pleasant cap on this user-friendly and effective yoga workout. What follows is Evamarie's post-workout yoga tutorial, in which Evamarie takes the time to offer additional information on proper technique, bonus tips on becoming fit through yoga and other exercise, helpful hints on equipment (including household substitutions for many store-bought items), answers to frequently asked questions, and more. This tape is the perfect starter kit for anyone new to yoga who is looking to learn it at home.

4 out of 5 stars A great video to start doing Yoga by.......2007-02-10

I bought this video over 15 months ago to get started doing yoga, but even now, after buying several more videos, it is still one of my favorites. Eva Marie Pilapuf takes you through an hour of various warm up exercises and yoga poses. So many introductory Yoga vidoes are so challenging that they discourage prospective practitioners. Most people using this video, however, will not get outside their comfort zones doing these poses, but after the workout they will feel good about themselves from the activity and their accomplishments. Isn't that what Yoga should be all about?

1 out of 5 stars NOT YOGA AT ALL.......2006-04-18

This is a scam and a rip-off. This is a DVD of someone going through some motions, but not yoga. I wouldn't even call it calisthenics. Even a complete couch potato expends more energy than this woman does. Please don't be fooled by the title - even the most extreme of beginners deserve more than what this woman is offering. If I can give this a rating less than 0 stars I would.

4 out of 5 stars Good gentle start.......2006-03-27

I too have problems with low back pain and as suggested by my physical therapist, yoga might be a good alternative since traction wasn't all that helpful. I found that Evamarie starts her warm up with a few gentle Tai Chi-type moves and eases into some gentle yoga and ends with a meditation-type cool down. I did not find the pace too rapid, and to be honest, I didn't watch the DVD all the way through prior to trying the positions. If you are terribly out of shape, the pace might be a bit fast, otherwise no problem. I found it a nice starter DVD.

2 out of 5 stars Introduction to Yoga: Gentle, for Extreme Beginners.......2006-03-26

Very disappointing. If this is for beginners, I wonder what a DVD for "experts" would be like. The rhythm of the movements was too fast, and the sound was not at all soothing, which to me is the essence of Yoga. Perhaps I didn't know what to expect since I have never taken any yoga classes. But that was my purpose in ordering this "beginning" Yoga DVD--too learn the basics and the "feel" of Yoga.

1 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money on this!.......2006-03-22

I am a yoga instructor and I bought this DVD hoping to gain insights to teach to beginning students. This DVD is NOT a real yoga session and the word yoga should not even be in the title! What I did see was a woman who was very flexible, quite possibly a dancer, doing a workout routine that incorporated some yoga movements. In most of the movements she taught, this instructor was hyperextended and moving in very fast repetitive motion.
    Pass this one up!

    Product Description

This release from Canadian drummer Flo Mounier is one of the first, (and still one of the only) educational sources around at the moment on "Speed Metal", "Grindcore" and "Death Metal" drumming which is a growing genre of music. The first disc of this two disc set focuses on the techniques needed to play effectively in this genre. Flo discusses the basic elements fundamental in playing extreme metal drums as well as showing exercises, routines and tips facilitating speed, endurance and control. The second disc focuses on live performances with Flo s band Cryptopsy, clinic performances, over the top solos, extreme songs and drum duets. As Flo's playing has inspired many different types of drummers, so will the contents of this 2 DVD set. The DVD-Rom (Disc 1) is PC and Mac compatible. Flo Mounier is the drummer of the Canadian Death Metal Band Cryptopsy. He has been with the band ever since they renamed themselves from Necrosis to Cryptopsy. He is most known for his technical skills and speed incorporationg double bass drumming and blast beats mixed with a jazzy play of ehythms. He is considered one of the most talented Heavy Metal Drummers of all time.

4 out of 5 stars best instruction for beginning death metal drumers available.......2007-02-12

so you want to play death metal, but that fast double bass and blasting just seems impossible, and you have no clue how flo, derek, and the rest got to those speeds. well, flo here will show you how to do it, and that's a great service. (btw the big secret is...lots and lots of chops drilling to a metronome, every day for the rest of your life. exactly what any drum teacher would tell you to do!) flo offers the viewer precise exercises that will definitely, with a lot of work, make you an extreme metal drummer. Conversely, Flo doesn't talk about advanced beats at all; the instruction is all chops. If you want to get into the really weird stuff he likes to play I imagine he'd just tell you to take Jazz and Latin lessons, like he did!

I wouldn't recommend this for experienced grinders, however. Like I said, the video is oriented towards beginners; aside from the much-anticipated discussion of the gravity blast I actually didn't learn anything I didn't know already. But I think it would have saved me a lot of time when I was starting out, having to put together my own practice routine for death metal. This isn't a fault, actually. The Derek Roddy dvd was the first death metal instructional, but it was waaaaay too hard for most people. Flo is filling in the gap for beginners. If you can play death metal already and want to learn about becoming a real monster on the kit, get Derek's dvd instead.

Flo put a lot of time and effort into this thing; it looks and sounds great, and what he teaches is very clear. (unlike the tim alexander dvd, which will teach you nothing) there's a bonus dvd that is all soloing, and it's a lot of fun - extreme metal drummers are usually terrible soloists, but Flo shows that it can be a really cool thing.

The greatest jumps of the legendary motorcycle daredevil are contained in Evel Knievel's Spectacular Jumps, which also includes footage of Knievel commenting on specific stunts, the injuries he sustained, and his motivations for following such a bizarre and dangerous occupation. A total of 11 jumps are shown, including the bone-crushing disaster at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas that left Knievel unconscious for a month and his ill-conceived attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon in a small rocket. An unavoidable flaw with this production is that the film footage of Knievel in his prime looks quaint compared to today's multi-angle saturation coverage of daredevil events. On the other hand, the vintage early-'70s clips do capture the oddball carnival atmosphere in which Knievel performed. People paid to see him risk his life, and he'd put on quite a show, arriving in a rhinestone-studded leather cape and getting the crowd revved by performing a series of wheelies prior to the big event. Motorcycle jumps don't take long, of course, and this entire DVD clocks in at only 30 minutes. And while some perspective on Knievel's life might have made for a more interesting production, his comments about the jumps and a few vintage clips of him speaking to the crowds provide a glimpse of his eccentric personality. --Robert J. McNamara

I grew up in the 1970's and Evel Knievel was one of my idols so I am going to be a bit biased. If you were a fan of the King of the Stuntman then this is a must have. My only disppointment with the DVD is that it is too short. I was hoping for a two or three looks at each jump. Of course, you can rewind it and even slow it down on DVD. It would have been neat to spotlight not only his jumps but how he breathed life into IDEAL Toys with all the Evel Knievel toys that came out in the 1970's. If only I would have kept all of those toys!!!

I remember watching most of his jumps on Tv when Wide World Of Sports was on ABC. Several clips of his most famous triumphs and disasters including one of the most famous crashes in history.
His statements of anti drugs and alcohol in this video are a great message for everyone.
My only problem was I wish it could have been a little more insightful on his off-stage life, but Evel was always that way.
Love me on stage , but leave me alone afterwards.

Great DVD for all levels, especially the beginner!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome DVD ! A must buy for the newbie on the streets !.......2007-05-03

Well let me just begin by saying that I just received my edition of Ground Rules 6 days ago and , beleive it or not, I have already improved. I think I would have given up eventually BMXing had I not sought and bought this DVD but because this DVD gives a rider so much potential to develop their skills with your definatly not going to watch it once and put it down.

I got a BMX 4 weeks ago for my 15th B-Day, I had already purchased a book on BMXing that was, well to be frank no help at all, and so you can imagine my hesitation; Maybe it's too advanced for me, are all these reviews scams, maybe I'm too short and weak (155cm) to even do some of these tricks ? All these doughts were gone when I watch the DVD. It builds up so gradually to nice tricks that I suprised myself 6 days after having first watched the DVD and praticed some of the tricks.

To clarify any doughts, even if you just got a BMX and all you can do is ride around and nothing else you can still buy this DVD and it will help you so much. Without this DVD it is really difficult to imagine 56 different tricks to do on a bike, so if your feeling a bit bored of bunnyhoping up curbs or grinds at a skatepark this DVD will give loads and loads of cool tricks to practise.

If you are determined enough and you learn every single one of the tricks in this DVD then I can tell you that you will have become a very good rider.

THE VERDICT : If you are thinking of starting flatland BUY this DVD ! Honestly, it is the best reference you can get. If you folow this DVD trick by trick with determination and pratice you too can become a very good flatlander. Although there no compensating for the practise you'll put in, if at least you know what to practise and how to practise it then you've already got a head start. Great DVD Matt !

5 out of 5 stars Best Flatland Video EVER!!!.......2004-11-23

This is the best video ever made for flatland bike. Period. It really motivated me to go out and learn the tricks explained in the video. In addition to that, it inspired me to invent tricks of my own and to explore new riding possibilities.

It is known to all that Matt is the best flatlander on the scene, but now he produced the best video, too.

5 out of 5 stars This is a great video!.......2004-11-02

If you are a bmx rider and want to learn to do tricks then you should buy this video. Matt is a bmx flatland rider, however, even street, dirt and vert riders can benefit. Some of the more basic tricks in the video demonstrate basic balance and bike control that will help out any rider. If you are a flatlander you will definitely benefit big-time from this video. There are so many tricks that beginners and expert level riders can learn from. Plus, you can learn what all the tricks are called and the subtle differences bewteen them. This video will give you endless ideas for your own riding and will always give you more to keep your riding fresh!

5 out of 5 stars Matt's Best Contribution to Flatland.......2004-10-27

As a long time fan of Matt Wilhelm, from watching him ride on TV to having the honors of naming his video, I can honestly say that he poured his heart and soul into the production of this how-to video; the best how-to video yet! Not only does this DVD cover more tricks than any other how-to out there, it shows smaller details which might be overlooked in other how-tos, and from different camera angles and speeds.

Right off the bat is his 8 minute long 'spy' video featuring some of his best riding, links and variations soo complicated it seems impossible (literally, my grandfather tried to convince me it was all computer generated)!

Onto the how-tos: Although it's easier said than done, watching this video will give you an instant hype to go outside and ride. It really motivates you to try new things, no matter how long it takes. With patience and understanding, you too can master the tricks featured in this video. From balance basics such as endos, tailwhips, to scuffing tricks such as funky chickens and wheelchairs, to spinning tricks like steamrollers and miccircles and the always popular megaspin, just watching Matt perform these various maneuvers is enough to make you feel like you're right there listening to the tire grind against the pavement. While I do find the interface a bit not to my liking, everything else is well done and easy to understand. From setting up for a trick to gaining balance to dialing it down, Matt shows all. So if you're considering getting into the flatland scene, buying this video would be the best advice to give any beginner.

..just wait until volume TWO comes out!
