seduction not from 1 movie, but from 3.......2007-04-12

I'm a Milano fan so i have to go with number 2: Lily, as the best. Just a nice good old couple of young seduction stories with a few interesting personalities.

whoever is responsible for recommending THIS to me must've had abou' as much empathic intuition as a bowling ball thas a liiiittle bit oerdosed on crack cocaine or sumethin', if ya' catch my drift..

IDGI...I've always been more of an Ally Sheedy, Short Circuit, Sentimentalist of sorts...(rolling 2d0 again) I only turn to this stuff to distract myself from solitude and mean-spirited, judgmental looks of others...(sigh), its enough to make a grown man...

Skin flicks, anyone?.......2007-03-28

While the first installment with Drew Barrymore is fairly good, the subsequent films are just reasons to get a couple of hot actresses naked. The storyline of Lily has nothing to do with the first one, and only mentions someone named "Ivy" in passing. New Seduction shows the main character being Ivy's sister, Violet. What the two sequels seemed to have missed is that "Ivy" was a nickname given to the main character in the first film and not her actual name...but I digress. Watch the first, then, as another reviewer said, turn down the volume for Parts 2 and 3.

Ignore the Non-Philistine Naysayers.......2007-03-12

It's simple - Jaime Pressly in the hottest thing she ever did. These kinds of films are often all gong and no dinner, but not in the case of "The New Seduction". You'll flip your toupee watching it, or I'll eat my shorts. Also, Ms. Milano makes the second entry watchable. What's that? Don't care for the plot, music, story, acting, etc.? Just turn the sound down and enjoy. Get'chr priorities straight, son.

3 terrible movies, 1 low price........2006-11-09

These 3 awful soft core erotic thrillers are some of the worst movies ever made.

The only reason to watch them is to see a 17 year old Drew Barrymore strut her stuff in the 1st film playing a very bad girl (though she doesn't do any actual nudity, her body double was Jamie Pressly ironically enough.)

The 2nd film has Alyssa Milano looking really nice in the buff.

And the 3rd film has Jamie Pressly discarding her clothing for most of the film.

But as for the films themselves? Terrible.

At least in the 1st film, they seemed to actually be reaching for something more artistic than just exploitative trash, but due to a pathetic script, they ended failing. Didn't register as a blip at all pretty much during it's original theatrical run after the whole Drew-Barrymore-sheds-her-good-girl-image press had run its course.

The filmmakers involved with the 2nd and 3rd films just didn't even try. They were also done as straight-to-video releases.

The films are all 3 shown in their unmatted full frame theatrical ratios, which actually helps as the full frame versions show some more flesh in some scenes.

These are also the more explicit unrated versions of all 3 versions as well. The pointless R rated versions available on the old DVD's have been jettisoned.

Only for super, super hardcore fans of the 3 actresses involved in the films.

There's nothing at all otherwise to be gained from watching these 3 cinematic abominations.

Joel Silver (48 Hours, Die Hard, The Matrix) has a theory about action movies--you need a good bang-up scene about every 10 minutes. The people who made The New Seduction operate on the same principle, only instead of car chases and explosions, the curvaceous Jaime Pressly takes her clothes off and then, more likely than not, has sex with someone. If Seduction had been made 60 years ago at Warner Brothers, nobody would have gotten naked, but otherwise this gleefully trashy bit of film noir would have fit right in. The plot's a reworking of the original; this time, Ivy's sister Violet returns after 11 years to wreak havoc on the family that turned her mother (the family maid) out onto the street for sleeping with the man of the house. Pressly brings both a smoldering energy and sense of fun to her very-bad-girl part. As the lonely daughter who was Violet's best friend, Megan Edwards is both appealing and strong enough to avoid being simpy. While this movie lacks the relative subtlety of the original, it's a whole lot more fun than the morose first sequel, Poison Ivy 2. --Geof Miller

I just happened to see this film on cable tv one night.I didnt expect to enjoy it as much as I did.The fact that people complain that this film didn't have a plot is laughable.Of course it doesnt have a plot!What were you expecting,Gone with the Wind?It is just one of those films that you watch if you are a guy who wants to see a hot chick nude and looking sexy for an hour and half, to temporarily forget about your miserable life(Or the fact that you will never have a girlfriend as hot as Jaime Pressley).Jaime Pressly is unbelievably sexy in this film.She's absolutely nude in most of it,and even when she is clothed,she still is extremely hot!It is defintely worth the purchase!

Jamie Pressly Sizzles in this Seductive Sequel.......2006-11-16

Jamie Pressly stars in this third installment of the "Poison Ivy" series, and she really sizzles!

Pressly stars as Violet. She and her mother live in a house owned by Ivan Greer (Michael Des Barres). Joy (Megan Edwards) is Ivan's daughter. Ivan and Violet's mother are having an affair, but they get caught by Ivan's wife. Soon, Violet and her mother are thrown out of the house. The Greer's continue living in the house, but Ivan's wife ends up passing away, so Ivan and Joy are left by themselves in the house.

The movie moves ahead eleven years. Ivan is working as a successful bank executive, Joy is a star tennis player who's engaged to Michael (Greg Vaughan), an Ivy-league finance major who's trying to get a job as an intern at Ivan's bank. Everything seems fine, until one day, there's a knock on the door. The housekeeper opens it to find a very grown-up Violet. Violet claims that she moved to Arizona, but has returned to work as a waitress and attend Junior College, but she has no place to live. Joy suggests that she move in with them. After a little convincing, Ivan agrees, and Violet moves in.

Joy and Violet have fun catching up, and Joy introduces Violet to her college friends, but they find her "different", and pay very little attention to her. She gets up to go to her waitress job, but it turns out that she's really a prostitute. After a while, she returns to the house, where she finds Michael. Michael and Joy went up to her room, but Joy wasn't interested in making love with Michael. Now, Violet has found him, and she seduces him.

Joy's friend Jamie then comes over to help her train for her big tennis match. After playing for a while, they take a break. Violet spikes the juice with rum, and both Jamie and Joy get very drunk. The housekkeper has become very suspicious of Violet, and her suspicions are confirmed shortly thereafter. Ivan makes a date with another woman,and she calls to tell Ivan where to pick her up at. Violet answers the phone and promises to give Ivan the message, but she never does. Ivan comes home feeling that he's been stood up. Violet is there to comfort him, and eventually, the two have sex.

Things continue on at this pace until Michael shows up again. Violet was swimming nude in the pool and noticed Michael watching her. She gets out of the pool and offers cocaine to Michael. A recovering drug user, he declines at first, but in the end, he gives in. Violet and Michael have sex again, and Violet plants the cocaine vial in his jacket. This is eventually found by Ivan, who shows it to Joy. Michael ends up losing out on his internship.

Joy is so distraught by Michael's apparent drug use that she blows her big tennis match. Michael confronts Violet and tells her that he knows about her and what she's doing. He goes back to the house and begins going through Violet's things. he finds Violet's sex toys hiding under her bed, but she sneaks in and knocks him out. When he wakes up, he's been handcuffed and had duct tape put over his mouth. Violet then injects him with a drug, which ends up killing him.

What will happen to Ivan and Joy? Will they suffer the same fate as Michael?

I thought this movie was good, but it falls slightly short of the original movie. Jamie Pressly is extremely sexy and does a good job as the scheming yet beautiful Violet. Megan Edwards is good as Joy, and I was glad to see her stand up to Violet in the end. The plot is a little more complicated than the first two movies. The acting is lukewarm at best, but Pressly and Edwards are both very good.

I do recommend this movie. Jamie Pressly makes the movie worth watching. If you''ve seen the other movies in the series, you won't want to miss this one.

Poison Ivy III: Back on track.......2006-11-10

THIS should have been "Poison Ivy II", not that other one. If you consider it such and ignore that other one, you'll do good. If a crack film team took the original and wanted to re-work it and modernize it, this would be the result. This one is drastically different from the first one in many ways, but it does have that 'young beauty tweaking evil manipulations on a family' that the original had (and Ivy II lacked). Like the first, we find ourselves wondering when, if ever, "Ivy" will "get hers". The brief B&D bit on Daddy is a nice touch too. Cudos as well for that fantastic "Pouty Lips" with fire-engine red lipstick look by Jaime Pressly. Buy the original, (with Drew Barrymore), this one, and keep them side-by-side on your movie shelf; ignore the "Poison Ivy II" edition.
