Editorial Review:
Amazon.com
Take a pinch of psychic phenomenon, add a dash of Southern gothic, stir in a sharp cast of talented actors, and you'll come up with The Gift, director Sam Raimi's ingenious gumbo of a thriller. It doesn't hold together as well as Raimi's earlier A Simple Plan, but the two films are stylistically connected--The Gift was cowritten (with Tom Epperson) by A Simple Plan's costar, Billy Bob Thornton, who in turn draws from the Deep South milieu that informed his own Sling Blade and his earlier collaboration with Epperson, One False Move. A similar sense of mystery permeates The Gift, in which a small-town Georgia psychic (perfectly played by Cate Blanchett) is tormented by tragic loss and visions connected to the murder of a local vamp (Katie Holmes) whose schoolteacher fiancé (Greg Kinnear) is a prime suspect.
Other suspects include a hot-tempered bully (Keanu Reeves) whose battered wife (Hilary Swank) is one of the psychic's regular clients, and a traumatized local (Giovanni Ribisi) who is tenuously stabilized by therapy and antidepressants. While this trio of potential killers keeps the mystery alive, the requisite red herrings don't add much to the film's low-level suspense. Instead, Raimi is far more effective in creating an atmosphere of anxious dread that wells up from each of these finely drawn characters, starting with the widow psychic's extended mourning for her lost husband, the agonized terror of a beaten wife, and the percolating anger of a cuckolded spouse. All of this makes The Gift a worthy showcase for its esteemed cast, even as its plot twists grow increasingly familiar. --Jeff Shannon

Customer Reviews:
Definate Improvement Over Season 2 & Possibilities For An Even Better Season 4!.......2007-06-28
Season 3 was a definate improvement over season 2. There are a number of different reasons for this; *WARNING*: Some Spoilers ahead!
First off, more interesting stories with both gains and losses! They fleshed out a few of the characters a bit more like Ronan and Rodney, but again left Teyla out in the cold! I thought her character was pretty good in the first season, but around the middle of season 2 through the end of 3, I completely lost interest in her. She basically just stands around as a little eye candy; when she is even in a scene! Lately she has come across as somewhat condesending with a "holier-than-thou" attitude. If they killed her off, I wouldn't miss her! (I read somewhere that she is pregnant, so the writers are putting that in some of the 4th season episodes, meaning less screen time! The rumor also hinted that she will rejoin "what is left of her people", and leave SGA!)
This also brings up characters that ARE lost, and others we will gain. The first character we lost was Dr. Carlson Beckett in the episode "Sunday"! A very sad episode! I really liked his character. He was a really nice, cool and calm guy, providing a moral center like Daniel Jackson did for SG-1, which was a perfect "yin" to Rodney McKay's hypertensive, egocentric and often rude "yang". Replacing him will be Jewel Staite as Dr. Jennifer Keller (best known from Firefly). She looks more grown-up, adult-like on SG Atlantis than her more kid-like character did from Firefly. (Which is good if she is to be taken seriously) And as always, she is definately still a hottie!
Another character will be Dr. Elizabeth Weir. Her role has been slowly spiraling downwards in season 3, so much like Teyla, I won't really miss her! Although her fate was undecided at the end of this season, she is going to die in season 4 and will be replaced with an SG-1 veteran, Col. Samantha Carter! She will become the new Atlantis commander and should replace Carson as a spring board for Rodney. With their past chemistry it will be like mixing acids and bases, getting quite a volatile reaction at first, but neutralizing in the end. Sheppard and her should also butt heads a lot as she will out-rank him militarily.
Lastly, I've also read some of the previous reviews and would have to disagree with some of their comments. First off, Rodney McKay is HILARIOUS! His character's annoying, smug attitude is what makes him so funny! Especially with the different reactions the other characters give Rodney when interacting with him! (Ex.'s: Sheppard and Ronon threaten him when he gets annoying; Carson (use to) patronize him even though Rodney didn't realize it, etc.) One thing I didn't like about this season was how the Wraith were practically non-existent! Instead they replaced them with the Replicators! These done-to-death bad guys are really starting to get old since they've been used so much in SG-1. I think the only good point of having them on Atlantis was learning more about their origins. They need to bring the Wraith back since they are the pre-dominant bad guys for Atlantis and need to delve deeper into their culture, weaknesses, etc.
Whatever your opinion on the 3rd season of Atlantis, most people will agree it has gotten better since season 2. And with all the quick changes at the end of the 3rd like 2 major characters dying/replaced and Atlantis itself heading off to a new planet to put down new roots, it gives potential for an awesome season 4! Lets just hope they don't screw it up!
best of the 3.......2007-06-24
This one kicked off to a good start since there were some really good story-lines in it. I think that if there were 2 drawbacks in this season then it would be that they brought in the episodes on they're encounters with that narcisstic man in the episodes "Irrisistable" and "Irresponsible" but other than that the season turned out really well. It was also a good idea that they brought in an old favorite from the original show for 3 episodes as well, I especially liked the cliff-hanger when they brought the team back together and fought for their city and home. All in all, I recommend this one to any who like the series and look forward to the following season.
Best show ever!.......2007-06-21
Having seen all of Season Three already I have to say that it was the best Stargate Season this year. Since SG-1 made the ori-storyline-mistake Stargate Atlantis was able to redeem the franchise.
I am glad that the wraith are taking the back seat this time. The Asurans/Replicators are a much more interesting foe for our heroes.
My only complaint for this season is that it had way too much Rodney in it. He became too annoying. I missed Teyla this season. It seemed that the writers didn't know what to do with her. Nevertheless a great season.
I bet Teyla is referring to Sheppard in Sunday with having feelings for someone.

Come explore years of incredible undersea photography and breathtaking views into a world we share. Choose four DVDs or four VHS tapes. Seasonal Seas/Cral Seas, Tidal Seas/Coasts, Ocean World/Frozen Seas, The Open Ocean and The Deep. Two titles per disc or tape. (Some scenes may be graphic in nature.)
Amazon.com
Extraordinary footage and eloquent narration by David Attenborough highlight the BBC's remarkable wildlife series The Blue Planet: Seas of Life. "Ocean World" begins with astonishing views of a gigantic blue whale--the elusive Holy Grail of undersea photography--and the marvels continue to demonstrate the power, diversity, and profound ecological influence of Earth's oceans. "Frozen Seas" examines whales, walruses, penguins, and other creatures under the extreme conditions of the Arctic and Antarctic Circles. The next two episodes are even better. "Open Ocean" travels thousands of miles into the vast "liquid desert," where currents determine how the ocean's diverse life forms will assume their places in the food chain. More amazing, "The Deep" descends with a state-of-the-art submersible to the ocean's abyssal plain and beyond, filming such bizarre creatures as the fangtooth, bioluminescent jellies, transparent squid, the giant-mouthed gulper eel, and the never-before-seen hairy angler fish.
"Seasonal Seas" focuses on the explosion of life that accompanies every annual blooming of plankton, numbering in the countless billions and captured here with brilliant microphotography. In "Coral Seas," miles-long reefs of living coral are explored, from deep within (requiring brief computer animation) to the surrounding environs, where you'll see white-tipped sharks in a feeding frenzy while beautiful harlequin shrimp wrestle with a starfish. "Tidal Seas" explores the myriad life forms that thrive when lunar gravity pulls the oceans offshore. "Coasts" is easily the most brutal episode, but no less mesmerizing. The most unexpected, and horrifying, sequence is the orca, earning its "killer whale" nickname by capturing, killing, and tail-tossing a seal pup--a sequence so mysteriously primal that even the most seasoned marine biologist will be utterly amazed. One of the finest wildlife programs you're ever likely to see, The Blue Planet: Seas of Life provides the privilege of visiting a truly alien world teeming with the rarest wonders of nature. The series was recut into the feature-length Deep Blue in 2005. --Jeff Shannon

The Blue Planet.......2007-07-03
I could not believe it when I saw an ad for deep blue. I remembered a special I had seen on tv about the ocean. I kept trying to watch and see if it was ever going to come on tv again, because i wanted to try to catch it all. I was playing music at night and working in the daytime so it was hard for me to see all of the series. But here some of it was on the ad for Deep Blue. And I wanted it. So I got on [...] and much to my surprise I found Deep Blue and and The collector's set of The Blue Planet. So I ordered both. I had told my sister and her kids and grand kids about The Blue Planet. So I couldn't wait to take it to their house to let them see the amazing filming that was done on this remarkable collection. If anyone enjoys the ocean and films about the ocean, you have not seen anything and I mean anything until you see this collection. Do not see how it can be any better. Their All going to order it to add to their collection.

The Blue Planet - Seas of Life Collector's Set (Parts 1-4).......2007-07-03
The Blue Planet - Seas of Life Collector's Set (Parts 1-4) Great series. Every science department K-college should have this in their library. Photography is top-notch.
The Blue Planet.......2007-06-27
This DVD collection is very well done and extremily educational. My teenage son loves these DVDs and watches them over other things on TV or other DVDs. Would make anyone a great gift!!!!
Blue Planet enchantment.......2007-06-27
Enjoyable fantastic film of life on earth. The ocean shots are the best I have seen. This is a set that we will watch over and over again.
The Ultimate Ocean Documentary.......2007-06-27
It is rare to see anything on Amazon where this many people have given it five stars. I just had to write a review to say that they were right! Definitely worth five stars. This is the most amazing documentary I have seen of the sea: chock full of riveting footage, filled with amazing facts, and never dull. From bacteria to whales, from the coasts to the open ocean, from the birds that live off the ocean to the deepest ocean floor, from feeding habits to breeding behavior, this series shows you things you could never have imagined. My sister, who was visiting, was so riveted by the DVD she saw that I will have to send her this series for her birthday.
As someone with an interest in saltwater aquariums, a past member of the National Aquarium in Baltimore, and the parent of a little boy who is obsessed with sea animals (we have lots of books), I thought I knew something about the ocean. Boy, was I wrong! I was stunned by what I learned in the first half hour. This series is a GEM. We also have some of the IMAX underwater movies, but the material in the Blue Planet just blows IMAX out of the water. IMAX may have the better video quality, but you learn so, so much more from the Blue Planet. No contest.

Some of the greatest masterpieces in cinema history, "The Godfather Collection" is the saga of the generations of successive power within the Corleone crime family, told in three films of staggering magnitude and vision, masterfully exploring themes of power, tradition, revenge and love. "The Godfather" (1972, 175 min.) - Adapted from Mario Puzo's best-selling novel, Francis Ford Coppola's epic masterpiece features Marlon Brando in his Oscar-winning role as the patriarch of the Corleones. Director Coppola paints a chilling portrait of the Sicilian clan's rise and near fall from power in America, masterfully balancing the story between the Corleone's family life and the ugly crime business in which they are engaged. Winner of three Academy Awards, including Best Picture. "The Godfather, Part II" (1974, 200 min.) - This brilliant sequel continues the saga of two generation of successive power within the Corleone family. Coppola tells two stories: the roots and rise of a young Don Vito (Robert De Niro), and the ascension of Michael (Al Pacino) as the new Don. Winner of six Academy Awards, including Best Picture. "The Godfather, Part III" (1990, 170 min.) - Now in his 60's, Michael Corleone is dominated by two passions: freeing his family from crime, and finding a suitable successor. That successor could be fiery Vincent (Andy Garcia), but he may also be the spark that turns Michael's hope of business legitimacy into an inferno of mob violence. This special collection also includes an additional disc containing over 3 hours of bonus material.

Amazon.com essential video
Throughout his long, wandering, often distinguished career Francis Ford Coppola has made many films that are good and fine, many more that are flawed but undeniably interesting, and a handful of duds that are worth viewing if only because his personality is so flagrantly absent. Yet he is and always shall be known as the man who directed the Godfather films, a series that has dominated and defined their creator in a way perhaps no other director can understand. Coppola has never been able to leave them alone, whether returning after 15 years to make a trilogy of the diptych, or re-editing the first two films into chronological order for a separate video release as The Godfather Saga. The films are our very own Shakespearean cycle: they tell a tale of a vicious mobster and his extended personal and professional families (once the stuff of righteous moral comeuppance), and they dared to present themselves with an epic sweep and an unapologetically tragic tone. Murder, it turned out, was a serious business. The first film remains a towering achievement, brilliantly cast and conceived. The entry of Michael Corleone into the family business, the transition of power from his father, the ruthless dispatch of his enemies--all this is told with an assurance that is breathtaking to behold. And it turned out to be merely prologue; two years later The Godfather, Part II balanced Michael's ever-greater acquisition of power and influence during the fall of Cuba with the story of his father's own youthful rise from immigrant slums. The stakes were higher, the story's construction more elaborate, and the isolated despair at the end wholly earned. (Has there ever been a cinematic performance greater than Al Pacino's Michael, so smart and ambitious, marching through the years into what he knows is his own doom with eyes open and hungry?) The Godfather, Part III was mostly written off as an attempted cash-in, but it is a wholly worthy conclusion, less slow than autumnally patient and almost merciless in the way it brings Michael's past sins crashing down around him even as he tries to redeem himself. --Bruce Reid

Oh my gosh...people...5 stars...5stars...5stars..........2007-07-04
What clown complains about picture quality on a film that was shot in the 70's??? Come on...guys and gals...these movies are amazing and all you have to say is the picture had nicks and hairs and imperfections...This is not 300 or finding Nemo, this is not a film that was shot on a digital camera...in 2007! Get with the times and enjoy this classic film.
As Michael leaves the restroom, he pulls the trigger...pumping rounds into the people responsible for his fathers failed assassination...and all you can do is gripe about picture quality and ish.
Perfectly written, amazingly shot, these films will go down in history as one of the greatest cinematic achievement of all time.
So I beg of you, and deplore you to shut up and enjoy these films in their original, grainy and imperfect formats...you might just enjoy them that way.

As with Star Wars, the George Lucas-produced Indiana Jones trilogy was not just a plaything for kids but an act of nostalgic affection toward a lost phenomenon: the cliffhanging movie serials of the past. Episodic in structure and with fate hanging in the balance about every 10 minutes, the Jones features tapped into Lucas's extremely profitable Star Wars formula of modernizing the look and feel of an old, but popular, story model. Steven Spielberg directed all three films, which are set in the late 1930s and early '40s: the comic book-like Raiders of the Lost Ark, the spooky, Gunga Din-inspired Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and the cautious but entertaining Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Fans and critics disagree over the order of preference, some even finding the middle movie nearly repugnant in its violence. (Pro-Temple of Doom people, on the other hand, believe that film to be the most disarmingly creative and emotionally effective of the trio.) One thing's for sure: Harrison Ford's swaggering, two-fisted, self-effacing performance worked like a charm, and the art of cracking bullwhips was probably never quite the iconic activity it soon became after Raiders. Supporting players and costars were very much a part of the series, too--Karen Allen, Sean Connery (as Indie's dad), Kate Capshaw, Ke Huy Quan, Amrish Puri, Denholm Elliot, River Phoenix, and John Rhys-Davies among them. Years have passed since the last film (another is supposedly in the works), but emerging film buffs can have the same fun their predecessors did picking out numerous references to Hollywood classics and B-movies of the past. --Tom Keogh

Scenes were deleted :(.......2007-07-02
I watched the entire DVD version and unfortunately, the entire movies are not there. A couple scenes were deleted from all 3 movies.
Probably my favorite scene that was deleted was in Temple of Doom, during the dinner scene. The part where the monkey's scalp is pulled off and it shows the monkey's brain, was deleted from the DVD version.
This was an absolute waste of money. I want the ENTIRE movie!!!
Truly Deserving of its AFI Top Movie List Ranking.......2007-06-30
I love the Indiana Jones series. They were fantastic when they first came out, when I was a young teen, enjoying the fast paced action and sharp witty comments. They're equally great now that I'm older and can see the much deeper meaning in many of the interactions. The movie series does a fantastic job of both providing light, entertaining for the young ones as well as some quality character interactions for those who seek them.
Harrison Ford shines in a role which, in the hands of another actor, might have turned into a cliche. Well, it IS a cliche in the sense that the adventure guy acts as if he's in a video game - running, jumping and shooting his way out of trouble. But he's so much more. He has his doubts, his weaknesses. He knows what he's doing is very risky, and he judges his chances with an experienced eye before leaping into the fray.
I've seen these movies so many times that I'm very glad they're on DVD, where a tape is not wearing holes in it. There's always something new to spot in a situation. The little details tucked into the corners are just astounding.
Highly, highly recommended. This is a set that every home should own. You can pop it into the player at any time, with pretty much any crowd, and enjoy.
Indiana Jones DVDs.......2007-06-27
This series (the first 3 Indiana Jones movies) is a classic, and a great deal of fun.
The ride of your life.......2007-06-21
Steven Spielberg and George Lucas wanted to make a movie that was like the old action adventure movies and they succeeded. The movies grab you by the throat from the beginning and add suspense, quirky joke lines and fast-paced action.
Settle back with your favourite drink, grab a container of popcorn, dim the lights and get ready for the best entertainment night you have had for a long time.
First class, all the way........2007-06-14
I recently picked up this boxed set, and couldn't be happier. I loved these movies as a kid, and still enjoy them immensely as an adult. The digital remastering is gorgeous -- the colors are vivid and the picture crisp. The 4th disc of bonus material is also well done. I won't even comment on the films themselves -- quality material that stands the test of time. Classic, action-packed Spielberg. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

The excellent Foyle's War returns with four episodes (each on its own disc) that first appeared on television in 2006 and '07. As before, the show's "history meets mystery" tagline pretty much sums it up, as Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle solves murders and various other heinous crimes in and around bucolic Hastings, England, while World War II rages on at home and abroad. "Invasion," the first episode, marks the arrival of American forces in 1942, not long after Pearl Harbor. Not all the locals are thrilled to see them; disparaging remarks about the G.I.s showing up "late" are common, and many a stiff upper lip curls at the Yanks' brash, boisterous behavior. Thus when a Hastings barmaid turns up strangled at a dance arranged by the Americans to get to know their hosts, fingers are quickly pointed at the "invaders." But Foyle and his assistants, Sgt. Paul Milner (Anthony Howell) and driver Samantha "Sam" Stewart (the delightfully named Honeysuckle Weeks), have other suspects, and the detective, who comes on a bit like Columbo without the trench coat and other idiosyncrasies, manages to sort through them while somehow keeping the Brit-Yank enmity from festering and dealing with the deadly effects of the illegal "hooch" the barmaid and her employer were brewing.
This balance of deftly intertwined elements typifies a series in which each installment is essentially a 90-minute movie; in "Bad Blood," murder, romance both illicit and international, and the appalling specter of Britain's experiments with biological weapons like anthrax are all on the bill, while gambling, sabotage, personal tragedy, and yet more murder feature in "Bleak Midwinter" and "Casualties of War." The mysteries aren't especially confounding; what the quietly persistent Foyle does is less interesting than how he does it. And while it's set in wartime, the war and its impact on the English (who endure the death and injuries visited upon their young men, along with shortages of gas, electricity, and such) is more often a backdrop than a central focus. Each disc includes a several pages of often fascinating text about the "historical truth" behind a given episode, while other bonus features include cast filmographies and a brief "making of" documentary on disc 1. All in all, while it may not appeal to fans of the fast-paced, effects-laden cop procedurals popular on American TV, Foyle's War is a classy production, well written (by creator Anthony Horowitz), nicely photographed, and well worth the investment of both time and money. --Sam Graham
Description
History meets mystery in this award-winning PBS series, with four all-new feature-length episodes set at the height of World War II. Michael Kitchen (Out of Africa) returns as the laconic Christopher Foyle, detective chief superintendent in the English town of Hastings. War has torn the social fabric of this once-quiet coastal community, and Foyle's investigations explore the violence and opportunism that the conflict has fostered on the home front.
Also starring Anthony Howell and Honeysuckle Weeks, and featuring Kenneth Colley, Dermot Crowley, Liz Fraser, Philip Jackson, Michael Jayston, Corey Johnson, Jonah Lotan, and Roy Marsden.
THE MYSTERIES
INVASION -- As the first American GIs arrive to build an airbase near Hastings, the murder of a barmaid further strains already-tense relations between the locals and the Yanks.
BAD BLOOD -- A top-secret experiment in biological warfare goes horribly wrong, complicating a murder investigation and threatening the life of Foyle's faithful driver, Sam.
BLEAK MIDWINTER -- The death of a young munitions worker and the murder of Paul Milner's wife seem linked, and Foyle strives to clear his sergeant from suspicion.
CASUALTIES OF WAR -- While investigating gambling and sabotage, Foyle takes in his troubled goddaughter and her severely traumatized son, who refuses to speak.
DVD SPECIAL FEATURES INCLUDE making-of documentary, production notes, the historical truth behind each episode, and cast filmographies.

Foyle's War - Set 4.......2007-07-04
This is outstanding. This is not to be missed by anyone who appreciates excellent acting, superb writing, perfect period settings and clothes. Michael Kitchen is easily one of the best of the British actors working now - which means one of the best in the world. His subtle, nuanced work is completely believable - never misses a beat. The supporting cast is easily equal. Honeysuckle is adorable - one of the most unique women on the air - and we think she might be the most attractive on either side of the Atlantic. We also like the entire casting set up - people look like PEOPLE - not anorexic 22 year olds who we are supposed to believe are department heads and bosses. The guys in charge are middle aged - this, despite Hollywood's fond delusions - is really how it is.
The Foyle's War series has a more serious intent as well as mystery and entertainment - although it more than fulfills this goal. It also examines different aspects of the war as it was lived by the English. Not glamorized, or shined up, but the way it was. Again, the people look like people look, so you aren't trying to overcome disbelief from the getgo - so you are pulled right into the time and place and situations. Absolutely top notch. I wish I could give it 10 stars out of a possible 5!
American Military--Not likely.......2007-06-25
First, I will say I have all three of the previous Foyle's War DVD sets and enjoy them very much and I will probably order this one. Michael Kitchen is a favorite of mine.I watched the first episode on PBS titled "Invasion." I assume the Brits are more lax than we Americans in our military but their technical advisiors (if they had them) were way off the mark.In the American military, a sergeant would never be allowed to be insubordinate to an officer, even a captain. I never could see any stripes on this sergeant so I have no idea of his actual rank. Another big mistake was in sending a captain to build a huge air strip. That job would call for at least a Lieutenant Colonel if not a full Colonel in charge along with many other lower ranking officers because there would have been mass troops building this strip. Disregarding the terrible accent of the captain and the bad light which they shown on the "Amerian" army, I will have to say the story was ok. I look forward to the next episode. Any scene with Kitchen is worth seeing. He is a fine actor. For that reason, it can only get better. For your info, let me say I come from a military family - 3 generations...
flawless.......2007-06-12
From Michael Kitchen to Honeysuckle Weeks to the plots to the scenes, this is as flawless a series of movies as I can remember. Classy, poignant at times, funny.
Conveys the WWII period in England in depth without detracting from the plot. Despite the quality of backstory and the depth of the primary characters, these episodes remain mysteries. Amidst the background of war in England in the forties, Foyle hunts what some might see as petty murders or "just thieves". It reminds me of Night of the Generals, showing the single-mindedness and bulldog grip a police officer can have even though the world around him seems to be crumbling.
An expensive, quality piece of storytelling and movie making.
I have the series-to-date and eagerly wait for more.

Michael Kitchen triumphs again as detective chief superintendent Christopher Foyle........2007-05-29
Michael Kitchen triumphs again as detective chief "superintendent Christopher Foyle. He often identifies himself, however, rather more charmingly: "My name is Foyle. I'm a police officer." No badge is shown or papers presented while so introducing himself. Such would be superfluous though as Kitchen's Foyle, in mannerisms, demeanor, as well as the way his carries himself, makes it rather apparent that he is in law enforcement. And to boot, all this takes place in the early days of the 4th decade of the 20th century, "in the beautiful southern English countryside amid the disorder and danger of World War II"(to quote the packaging).
As in all Foyle episodes a murder takes place and Kitchen methodically goes about solving it. He has a sergeant for assistance as well as an actress side-kick (whose most unusual name in real life is Honeysuckle Sweet) who plays an army soldier seconded to drive for Foyle, who is without a license to do so. Like in many detective dramas the who did it is rather less important than the drama getting to that point. Actually, these hour and forty minute long Foyle episodes often go by for me without my giving much serious contemplation toward the solution Foyle seeks. Ever play chess and really focus on 3, 4, 5, 6 possible moves in advance and then play a casual game of chess just for fun? That's how I personally watch Foyle's War. I'm not too interested in guessing then second guessing again & again who I think is the murderer. (I do do that often with David Suchet's Hercule Poirot Agatha Christie mystery dramas, but alas, do too much guessing wrong there, however.
The episodes:
"Invasion"
March 1942: The US Army Corps of Engineers arrives in Hastings to build an aerodrome and Foyle needs to calm a local farmer whose land has been requisitioned by the government. In this episode we also are treated to a guest appearance by Philip Jackson; aka Chief Inspector Jap from Agatha Cristie's Poirot series, although he's but a pub owner herein. And we also get a major development in the Sam Stewart/Andrew Foyle relationship.
"Bad Blood"
A lone aircraft drops a bomb over farmland. Nearby sheep start dying, then a farmers wife, and Sam falls ill.
"Bleak Midwinter"
December 1942: DCS Foyle investigates the death of Grace Phillips who died in what appears to be an accident in a munitions factory.
"Casualties of War"
March 1943: Foyle receives a visit from his goddaughter, who he has not seen for 10 years, and her young son who is shell shocked from when his school was bombed.
Watching Foyle is also very much a period drama, as I've said, giving one a feel for wartime England, the country lanes, the occasional military vehicle and soldier(s), authentic clothes, hats, people on missions greater than themselves passing through the lens. My advice thus is not to overly focus on actively trying to solve these tough-to-crack mysteries to better revel in the actual performances herein. Notwithstanding the "Columbo" series being a totally different style of show, Foyle's War shares a number of similarities with Peter Falk's famed detective: the who-did-it is not the most interesting part of the show, but watching the very deliberate and understated detective go about his job. I particularly relish Columbo's speech manners and the way he draws things out as if they were salt water taffy as he hems and haws, pauses, retreats, etc. Michael Kitchen's Foyle, albeit in his own unique way, is entertaining just to watch as well. He is a man of few words, but very communicative with his demeanor, facial expressions, and the like. A hostile possible suspect verbally lambasts Foyle in one episode, for instance, while Foyle looks into this man's eyes watching him vent. When the man finishes, Foyle begins to pass the man on his way out. The man comes after Foyle trying to add a coda to his venting and when doing so attempts to grab hold of Foyle's arm. Foyle simply continues on his way and half over his shoulder, simply says to a uniformed officer behind him, "arrest this man." In another episode a person asks how Foyle knew something that would be hard to know and came to the conclusion that he did. To which Foyle responds, a picture in his hand, and a knowing expression on his expressive face: "I found this in her diary. I found the diary under her pillow." Maybe I'm just a glutton for language precisely employed, language--bereft of unneeded words---delivered with style. Cheers

Description
Based on Alex Haley's best-selling novel about his African ancestors, Roots followed several generations in the lives of a slave family. The saga began with Kunta Kinte (LeVar Burton), a West African youth captured by slave raiders and shipped to America in the 1700s. The family's saga is depicted up until the Civil War where Kunte Kinte's grandson gained emancipation. Roots made its greatest impression on the ratings and widespread popularity it garnered. On average, 130 million - almost half the country at the time - saw all or part of the series.

I had forgotten how moving this film is! Great acting, well written characters and a shameful recounting of slavery.
Great story.......2007-06-29
What a story, I think it should be in schools, lest it's forgotten.
Roots(Four Disc 30th Anniversay Edition.......2007-06-27
Everyone should own this disc set. It is a good educational tool for children in helping them to understand how wrong slavery was and how much the black race had to suffer for their freedom. The story behind this saga is sad but it also shows the determination of the black race to survive through unbearable times.

Another craptacular season of the Simpsons.......2007-06-28
I SWEAR, this is the last head pack I'm buying., Once you have the whole family, it gets old and you start to realize that you get a piece of molten plastic that could've been used to make a cheap Halloween mask with an adequately cheap rubber band. Anyhoo, here's my review for the set from the non-head link
....................................
Mike Scully's reign of terror continues.
Ok, so this season isn't as good as Season 9 but that doesn't make it bad. In fact there are some really excellent episodes in this season. As someone who thinks the show should've ended after Season 11, how can I possibly reject this season. And now a brief summary.
1. Lard of the Dance - For this episode, the Lisa "A" story with Lisa Kudrow has its laughs but for me, it's all about the Homer and Bart "B" story where Homer thinks he can make a fortune by selling grease. You can't go wrong with Homer and a crazy scheme.
2. The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace - Written by the prolific John Schwartzwelder, this episode features Homer attempting to emulate Thomas Edison's prolific inventing after suffering a mid-life crisis.
3. Bart the Mother - An episode that got too sappy IMO. Bart accidently shoots a mother bird and decides to care for the eggs she apparently left. Nice third act though.
4. Treehouse of Horror IX - Funny at the time but ages real fast. I - after Snake is executed, his toupee is donated to the one man that needs it most, Homer. II - What? Bart and Lisa are trapped in an Itchy and Scratchy cartoon? How humiliating! III - Hey kids, remember Jerry Springer? Well when he's not dancing with the real dancers, he has time to give a voice-over.
5. When You Dish upon a Star - What? There are celebrities who choose to live in Springfield? Specifically Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger (in happier times) not only live there but choose to hire Homer as an assistant. Also, you get the occasional pop-in by Ron Howard who is there to raid the liquor cabinet.
6. D'oh-in in the Wind - After visiting the commune where his mother hid, Homer decides that he wants to be a hippie which is due to infuriate the other hippies who live there (guest voiced by Martin Mull and the great George Carlin).
7. Lisa Gets an "A" - Lisa cheated on a test? Well its true. Again the Homer B story is better when he takes care of a misunderstood lobster named Pinchy. The first episode with that great educator State Comptroller Atkins.
8. Homer Simpson in: "Kidney Trouble" - Just because Homer caused Grandpa to lost functionality in both off his kidneys, that doesn't mean that Homer actually has to donate one of his own kidneys to save Grandpa's life! Does it? Written by John Schwartzwelder.
9. Mayored to the Mob - This is a hilarious episode from the BiMonSciFiCon to Mark Hamill in "Guys and Dolls" Yes, Luke be a Jedi tonight! Also, after protecting Mayor Quimby from a horde of angry sci-fiers, Quimby decides to hire Homer as his bodyguard.
10. Viva Ned Flanders - Probably because there was already a casino in Springfield, none of the Simpsons ever decided to go to Las Vegas, that is until now. When Ned Flanders decides to make up for a life of not living on the edge, he decides to call Homer. While it was a funny episode, it helped spawn that undying premise of the Vegas wives.
11. Wild Barts Can't Be Broken - After a spree of wanton vandalism (caused of course by Homer, Lenny, Carl, and Barney) the town enacts a curfew that prevents the kids from leaving the house.
12. Sunday, Cruddy Sunday - Fred Willard guest voices as the travel agent who books a large group of the Springfield gents to a trip to Super Bowl XXXIII. A note of trivia, the date that this aired was also the premiere date of Family Guy. Read into that any meaning you like.
13. Homer to the Max - Written by John Schwartzwelder, this episode still makes me laugh. Homer gets a lot of respect when a cool detective on TV named Homer Simpson hits the screen. However, after the pilot, they turn Det. Homer Simpson into a lazy, dumb ignoramus forcing Homer to change his name to (drumroll) MAX POWER. Remember, nobody snuggles with Max Power, you strap yourself in and feel the Gs.
14. I'm with Cupid - Apu's extravagant gifts and affection for Manjula on Valentine's day force the rest of the male Springfield population to become irate. Guest appearance by Sir Elton John.
15. Marge Simpson in: "Screaming Yellow Honkers" - Probably the first sitcom to take on road rage (not to mention the burgeoning phenom of female SUV driving) was the Simpsons. When Homer accidentally buys a lady Canyonero (Canyonero Yeee Hah!) Marge decides to drive it causing her to develop road rage.
16. Make Room for Lisa - A nice Homer-Lisa story where for the first time, Lisa explores her own insensitivity to Homer. Also, a lot of Lindsay Naegle (before she was Lindsay Neagle) as the OmniTouch rep.
17. Maximum Homerdrive - After losing a steak eating contest to a truck driver who eventually dies, Homer decides to deliver the dead man's payload. BTW, who knew that those trucks could drive themselves? Written by John Schwartzwelder.
18. Simpsons Bible Stories - Rather than just explore Halloween themed ideas, why not try a more scary book like....I dunno.....the Bible. I - Homer and Marge are at the Garden of Eden, II - the Jews will escape the wrath of the evil pharoah by the leadership of Milhouse? III - Bart as David who now has to face Goliath's son, who is just as tall, and angrier.
19. Mom and Pop Art - Underrated episode where Homer becomes a conceptual artist by accident. But when the art community rebuffs his newer work, Homer decides to try an artistic stunt so revolutionary that the art community would have to respect him. Also some great Arizona State bashing by Ned.
20. The Old Man and the "C" Student - After Bart pulls a stunt that forces the IOC to reject Springfield as the site of the Olympic games, he has to do community service at the old folks' home. Meanwhile, Homer is dejected when his mascot idea, the Springfield Spring, is rendered useless forcing him to come up with other ideas for using the spring.
21. Monty Can't Buy Me Love - Why don't the people like Monty Burns? That's what Monty wants to know especially after the dashing billionaire Arthur Fortune comes to town. Written by John Schwartzwelder.
22. They Saved Lisa's Brain - Now this is a great episode. After witnessing the crude and idiotic behavior of the townspeople, Lisa writes an op-ed which allows her to join Springfield's Mensa society. Soon they take over the town which causes an uproar. Some great Comic Book Guy lines and oh btw, did I mention that Stephen Hawking makes an appearance as the voice of reason.
23. Thirty Minutes over Tokyo - The Simpsons desire for an economical vacation leads them to take a trip to Japan. Because after going to Australia, why not try their luck at another country?
The DVD set inclues audio commentary on every episode (odd but the audio commentaries are funnier than the new batch of shows), animation showcases, and many other special features.
Another (not the last) Great Season.......2007-06-22
Ever notice how every season of the Simpson's is called the "Last Great Season" by some Amazon reviewer? I've been watching the show since season one and still tune in every Sunday. I'll probably shell out for every single season (I've already got 1-9). I'm going to see the movie when it comes out, too. I guess that makes me a die-hard fan, I'll admit it. Some people can't justify their love of something unless they complain about some aspect of it, but not me. Love the show, love the characters, enjoy every episode (though some more than others)...I still say it's the smartest, funniest, most dependable show on TV. That's all.
PS: Season 10 is a great one.
The Last of the Best.......2007-06-19
Hell, I'll buy it! But I also remember that Season 11 is the one that weened me off of The Simpsons. I expect some shows to be better than others, but season 11 had more flops than hits. I came back strong for Season 12, only to be disappointed again.
Watching the old episodes proves I haven't got too old for The Simpsons, but only that in later years the show chose to be more preachy than funny, more self-referential than fresh. When a parody becomes a self-parody then it is running on fumes. Homer & family have been going through the motions of being themselves for way too long. As I look forward to the release of the Tenth Season, I can't help but note its pre-sales ranking at 108. The once superhot pre-sales of The Simpsons DVDs are gone. They're even lower than the 4 episode second season of the Muppet Show starring Mia Farrow from 1976, which is at #103. So I'm hardly the lone voice in the woods here.
Matt Groenig and crew shut the door in the face of their audience a long time ago. I'll wait to see how well the movie does before I buy a ticket.
But still, Season 10 is worth the money!
Simpsons, funny at 10, still funny near 20.......2007-06-15
The Simpsons is still a consistently funny show. All you comic book nerds that sit around musing about its hey-day, need to close your laptops while watching the show and actually watch it. Instead of tuning in for five minutes then trying to be the first person to slam it on the message boards. Three words for you neo-Simpson haters, "Worst Audience Ever".

Season One: Winner of the Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy its first year out, Arrested Development is the kind of sitcom that gives you hope for television. A mockumentary-style exploration of the beleaguered Bluth family, it's one of those idiosyncratic shows that doesn't rely on a laugh track or a studio audience; it's shot more like a TV drama, albeit with an omniscient narrator (executive producer Ron Howard) overseeing the proceedings. Holding the Bluths together just barely is son Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman), the only normal guy in a family that's chock full of nuts. Hardworking and sensible, Michael's certain he's going to be given control of his family's Enron-style corporation upon the retirement of his father (Jeffrey Tambor). The fact that he's passed over instead for his mother (Jessica Walter) is only a blip when compared to his father's immediate arrest for dubious accounting practices, and the resulting freeze on the family's previously limitless wealth.
Bereft of money, and even less family love, the Bluths have to band together in their moment of need--not easy when everyone's looking out for number 1. In addition to his scabrous parents, Michael has to contend with his lothario older brother (Will Arnett), his basically useless younger brother (Tony Hale), his greedy twin sister (Portia DeRossi), and her sexually ambiguous husband (David Cross). Michael's only comrade in sanity is his son George Michael (Michael Cera), but then again, the teenage boy harbors a secret crush on his cousin (Alia Shawkat). A peerless ensemble led by the brilliant Bateman (who ever knew he could be this good?), all the actors are pitch-perfect in their roles, delivering the dryly funny, sometimes absurdist dialogue with the speed and flair of classic farce. The unusual tone of Arrested Development takes a bit of getting used to--it's far different from anything you'll see on TV, even HBO--but once you buy in to the Bluths' innumerable dysfunctions, you'll be laughing your head off for hours.--Mark Englehart
Season Two: The axe of cancellation dangled perilously over Arrested Development during its second season, but the award-winning comedy fought against fate to deliver a hilarious if scattershot 18 episodes (reduced from the original show order of 22), and stayed alive for the beginning of a third season. Most likely, the creators and actors knew the clock was ticking down, so they didn't hesitate to throw their all into these manic, hilarious episodes, which have only the thinnest of plot arcs but an electrifying energy that makes them hard to resist. Some of the story antics were more of the same: good son Michael (Jason Bateman) tries to keep his company afloat, but is often foiled by older brother Gob (Will Arnett); the precarious marriage of Lindsay (Portia de Rossi) and Tobias (David Cross) undergoes a trial separation; and young George-Michael (Michael Cera) fights his attraction to his cousin Maeby (Alia Shawkat). Other show developments, though, were new and stunningly, uproariously bizarre: Buster (Tony Hale) joins the army, but later finds his hand bitten off by a seal (yes, a real seal), and Oscar (Jeffrey Tambor), the hippie brother of jailed George Sr. (also Tambor), rekindles an affair with sister-in-law Lucille (Jessica Walter), which may have resulted in Buster's conception years ago.
Jokes flew fast and furious, as did guest stars--Ben Stiller, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Christine Taylor, Thomas Jane, Ed Begley Jr., Ione Skye, and Zach Braff among them--making it hard to keep straight who was doing what and why. No matter, as each of the episodes was in and of itself was a perfect gem of comedy, strung together by sharp writing and fantastic performances. In addition to the regular cast, both Liza Minnelli, reprising her role as "Lucille Two," and Martin Short, as an, um, eccentric family friend, deserve special mention, with the episode both appeared in, "Ready, Aim, Marry Me," a frenetic exercise in slapstick farce. Typical examples of the show's offbeat humor were found in "Afternoon Delight," in which various members of the Bluth family discover the true meaning of the '70s ballad, "Meet the Veals," wherein the Bluths encounter the conservative parents of George Michael's girlfriend, and "Motherboy XXX," surrounding an unsettling mother-son traditional dance. The entire cast cohered perfectly through this season, and their give and take provided a perfect balance among the actors, all of whom were even better than the previous year. However, it's Bateman who should be singled out as the show's anchor, mixing dry sarcasm with impeccable comic timing. Despite plummeting ratings, Arrested Development didn't just keep its head above water, it swam with grace and hilarity. --Mark Englehart
Season Three: Arrested Development--one of the greatest comedies in the history of television--went out in a blaze of glory. The truncated final season packed more biting humor per minute than ever before. In only 13 episodes, dozens of intertwining storylines spun in all directions: In addition to the overarching story about the fractious infighting of the Bluth family and the family's housing development company being investigated for treason in Iraq (a plot arc that comes to a dazzlingly surreal conclusion), the put-upon "good son" Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman, Teen Wolf Too) pursues romance with a lovely British woman (Charlize Theron, Monster) who turns out to be woefully inappropriate; swaggering magician Gob (Will Arnett, Monster-In-Law) flees from his newly-discovered teenage son while still pandering for the affection of his self-absorbed father (Jeffrey Tambor, The Larry Sanders Show); flighty Lindsay (Portia de Rossi, Ally McBeal) and her sexually blurry husband Tobias (David Cross, Mr. Show) both get the hots for the family's new lawyer, Bob Loblaw (Scott Baio, Charles in Charge); and much, much more. It's difficult to describe what makes Arrested Development so brilliant. The ensemble is uniformly superb (Jessica Walter, as the family's boozing, scheming matriarch, is particularly devastating this season) and the surprising guest stars (including Andy Richter, James Lipton, Justine Bateman, and many others) are perfectly cast; the characters' abominable behavior defies conventional television notions of "likability", yet they only grow more endearing the more you watch; the humor embraces wild slapstick and sharp satire, often within a single scene; and the nimble documentary style allows for sly glancing references to jokes and scenes from long-past episodes, rewarding devoted fans. But the key is that, no matter how screwball Arrested Development becomes, the show offers a rich, textured, and wonderfully coherent world in which these characters feel genuine, a world completely unlike the flat, plastic simulacrum offered by the average sitcom. Arrested Development was true to itself to the end. Its followers will cherish it forever. --Bret Fetzer

Harry Potter Movies.......2007-07-04
The movies are very entertaining and a must see for all who have read the books. I recieved my movies on time and am so happy with the service.
Good.......2007-07-01
I love the books, so the movies are never as good as the books, but they are good. They are fun and interesting and go quickly but keep true to the story. Good films that are fun. This is the order of the BEST FILMS (1 being best...4 being worst)
1. Prisoner of Azkaban
2. Sorcers Stone
3. Chamber of Secrets
4. Goblet of Fire
Disappointed customer.......2007-06-24
Very disappinted with my first buy from this seller.
Movies arrived on time, but it wasn't what I ordered or expected.
I bought a Box Set of Harry Potter, years 1-4, but 4 separated movies arrived, not a Box Set. Besides, the seller claims that he has the only Full Screen versions available on the market, one of the movies, Goblet of Fire, is NOT a full screen version, the box is a full screen version, but the DVD inside is marked and it is a Wide Screen version.
I would really like my money back !!!!!!!!!!!
Very, very disappointed indeed.
First Four Harry Potter Films on DVD: A Great Gift Idea!.......2007-06-21
In 1997, a children's book written by a then little-known author, J. K. Rowling, began to gain popularity in Britain. Entitled "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", the book's title was changed when it was released in the U.S. to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". A year later, children who had been mesmerized by the first book got to read its sequel, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets". Though a seemingly darker book than the first, more and more children (as well as adults) began to take interest in the amazing stories a boy name Harry Potter, who is also a wizard. As J. K. Rowling wrote each additional book, interest continued to rise as bookstores began to open at midnight upon each book's release date to the throngs of children and their parents anxious to read the next installment of Harry Potter's adventures at the magical Hogwart's School of Wizardry Witchcraft with his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger as they battle the evil Lord Voldemort. To date, five books have been written. The third, fourth and fifth books are respectively entitled "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". And, the soon to be released seventh & final book is called "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows".
With so much popularity, it was only natural that film producers would approach J. K. Rowling about transforming her wonderful books into big-screen films. The year (2001) following the release of her fourth book, the first film adaptation of her first book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" was released in theaters. This was followed by the subsequent releases of the film versions of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" (2002), "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" (2004) and "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (2005).
Starring Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, each of these four films is quite good. Also starring in all four films are Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy, Matthew Lewis as Neville Longbottom, Richard Griffiths as Uncle Vernon Dursley, Fiona Shaw as Aunt Petunia Dursley, Harry Melling as cousin Dudley Dursley, Robbie Coltrane as Rubeus Hagrid, legendary actress Maggie Smith as Professor Minerva McGonagall and the wonderful actor Alan Rickman as the shadowy potions professor Severus Snape. Sadly, the brilliant actor Richard Harris (1930-2002), who played Professor Albus Dumbledore, died shortly before the second film opened in theaters. Stepping into the character in the third & fourth films was veteran actor Michael Gambon, whose seamless & identical portrayal of Professor Dumbledore was a true credit to his excellent acting abilities; though some were not as pleased with Gambon's performance as with Richard Harris.
A brief summary of each film follows:
1. "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"
At 11 years of age, Harry Potter has been taken care of from the time that he was only one year old by his Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia, who have a child of their own named Dudley. They have taken care of Harry because his own parents, James and Lily Potter (Lily was Petunia's sister) were killed by the evil wizard Lord Voldemort. The Dursleys want nothing to do with magic, and since Harry may be a wizard, they have not treated him very well. However, just before Harry's 11th birthday, he received a letter from the Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft; but the Dursleys won't let him read the letter. More & more letters from Hogwarts arrive until out of desperation, the Dursleys attempt to run away with Harry; but they are easily found and on Harry's birthday, a huge man by the name of Hagrid arrives to personally deliver Harry's invitation from Hogwarts to study magic. It is only then that Harry finds out that he's a wizard and that the Dursleys had lied to him about how his parents died. Harry leaves with Hagrid and begins his first year at Hogwarts, where he makes his first true friends: Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. It's an exciting story as Harry learns to play quidditch, learns potions with the unpleasant Professor Snape and becomes entangled in some secret affairs at the school. He may even have an encounter with "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named".
2. "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets"
At age 12, Harry has been treated slightly better by the Dursleys over his summer holiday, but things begin to turn sour when an elf named Dobby suddenly appears in Harry's bedroom to give him a message: that he should not return to Hogwarts this year. Not accepting the warning, Dobby makes mischief while the Dursleys are entertaining. Uncle Vernon puts bars on Harry's bedroom window and refuses to let him return to Hogwarts, but a flying car carrying Ron Weasley and his brothers Fred and George arrive and rescue Harry. Harry's does finally get to Hogwarts, but students begin to be attacked by an unknown force and Harry starts to hear strange voices. That's when they learn about a legendary part of the castle known only as "the chamber of secrets", in which a horrible monster is said to dwell. Will Hogwarts get shut down, or can Harry and his friends figure out where the chamber is? Look out for Professor Gilderoy Lockhart (the brilliant Kenneth Branagh) and Moaning Myrtle (Shirley Henderson).
3. "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban"
At age 13, after Harry accidentally causes one of his other unpleasant muggle aunts, Aunt Marge (Pam Ferris), to inflate like a balloon, he runs away from the Dursleys and encounters a large black dog before a magical bus appears. Harry has a wild bus ride to "The Leaky Cauldron" where he meets the Minister of Magic himself, Cornelius Fudge (Robert Hardy), but he doesn't' get in trouble for inflating his aunt. Instead, there is something far more ominous: Sirius Black (Gary Oldman), a very dangerous prisoner and convicted murderer, has escaped from Azkaban prison. Everyone at Hogwarts must be on guard, especially with the dreaded dementors on the prowl looking for Sirius. While Ron & Harry can't understand how Hermione is getting to all of her classes (some classes at the same time), Sirius Black is looking for Harry. When Harry finds out who Sirius Black is, he goes ballistic; but things may not be as they appear.
4. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire"
This is an unusual year at Hogwarts: instead of the usual quidditch matches between the four houses, an international Tri-Wizarding Tournament is to be held. Limited to only upper-class students that are at least 17 years old, everyone is shocked when Harry (14 years old) is named to be one of its contestants. The Tri-Wizarding Tournament is somewhat dangerous to its participants, but Hermione finds herself in an affair with a world-renowned quidditch player, Viktor Krum (Stanislav Ianevski), who is representing his school in the Tournament. In the meantime, Harry is attracted to a girl named Cho Chang (Katie Leung), but his life is complicated when he begins to experience strange visions of snakes and "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named". What is "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" doing? Harry will no doubt be caught in the thick of it and it may interfere with the Tournament! Keep a close eye on Mad-Eye Moody (Brendan Gleeson), who is at Hogwarts by invitation of Dumbledore himself!
Overall, I rate all four films together with a resounding 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend them. In case you have a friend or family member that wants to watch/own all four Harry Potter films, but doesn't yet have any of them, the "Harry Potter - Years 1-4" DVD collection would make an excellent gift.
