The best-selling novel by Michael Crichton was faithfully adapted for this taut 1971 thriller, about a team of scientists racing against time to destroy a deadly alien virus that threatens to wipe out life on Earth. As usual with any Crichton-based movie, the emphasis is on an exciting clash between nature and science, beginning when virologists discover the outer-space virus in a tiny town full of corpses. Projecting total contamination, the scientists isolate the deadly strain in a massive, high-tech underground lab facility, which is rigged for nuclear destruction if the virus is not successfully controlled. The movie spends a great deal of time covering the scientific procedures of the high-pressure investigation, and the rising tensions between scientists who have been forced to work in claustrophobic conditions. It's all very fascinating if you're interested in scientific method and technological advances, although the film is obviously dated in many of its details. It's more effective as a thriller in which tension is derived not only from the deadly threat of the virus, but from the escalating fear and anxiety among the small group of people who've been assigned to save the human race. The basic premise is still captivating; it's easy to see how this became the foundation of Crichton's science-thriller empire. --Jeff Shannon

Good Story, Wooden Characters.......2007-06-05
The Andromeda Strain is one of the must-see movies I missed in high school when it was first released and one that has remained in the back of my mind as one to see eventually. So, when I saw it on special recently at a local book emporium, I snapped it up.
Well, believe it or not, this is my first experience with an adaptation of the work of Michael Crichton. He has been so hyped over the years, I've ignored him. Imagine my surprise to discover that the Andromeda Strain is based on one of his early novels.
He definitely fed public paranoia here with this one. This was the age of the Vietnam War, when fewer and fewer people believed what US leaders told them. Additionally, there was much general unease about secret projects of the Defense Department and NASA. Agent Orange was just becoming an issue and there was some fear of outside contamination after the recent moon landing. Many wondered what other lethal agents were being concocted in secret, and what could happen if those with oversight lost control of them? Justified paranoia had many thinking the worst and made the Andromeda Strain so credible to many. When viewed today, with the benefit of three decades plus worth of biological and technical crises behind us, many would say that such paranoia remains justified.
I found The Andromeda Strain to be a good story clothed in a language of science that is a mystery to most people. But the characters are largely one-dimensional and the acting itself often very wooden. The worst of these is the female scientist dragged from her lab to participate on the team assigned to save humanity from the mysterious and putatively extraterrestrial plague which had already nearly wiped out the inhabitants of a fictional New Mexico village. Her wise-cracking character reminds me of "Maude" with an education. Then there were the various military men whose dialogue is so lame and stilted as to induce wincing.
However, the story itself helps the viewer overlook the undistinguished cast and gives the viewer cause to reflect on the what-ifs of an actual biological emergency. Only an early form of the virus of political correctness that manifests itself on occasion detracts from an otherwise interesting movie. There are many parts of the film where you will be spellbound. Younger viewers may be blase about the technological marvels revealed in the film, but those over fifty may still find wonderment in what was on the cutting edge for its day.
I recommend the Andromeda Strain as a good specimen of early 1970s science fiction film-making. It isn't the best sci-fi movie I've ever seen, but its far from the worst.
Riveting Science Fiction Thriller.......2007-05-27
There are several types of science fiction movies. The rarest, and for some of us, one of the more interesting types, is one where the focus is on the science rather than the fiction and the hype. There a no big, exciting monsters, but the science is readily evident along with state-of-the-art technology for 1971.
The U.S. government launches a satellite into space to gather material from space. When the satellite returns, it has brought more than just inert matter from space; it has brought something that lives. Unfortunately for the town of Piedmont, the thing that lives is hostile to human life.
The U.S. military gathers scientists from around the country at a secret laboratory called Wildfire to analyze the satellite and to determine whether they can stop the organism from destroying all life on earth. In the meantime, the organism, now called the Andromeda strain, has moved from the town of Piedmont and has killed again.
Though the movie heightens tension by focusing on the threat the organism places on mankind, the real tension is in the laboratory. We learn the foibles of each of the characters and we are pulled into their tension as they attempt to find the organism and try to figure out how to stop it - if they can.
One of the issues that face the team of scientists in the underground laboratory is the nuclear bomb that will destroy the laboratory if an organism should escape. It is the responsibility of one of the scientists to deactivate the bomb. However, not all the deactivations stations are working, and if you are caught in a section where there is a non-working station when all the doors are sealed, the only way out is through the laser-filled core.
"The Andromeda Strain" boasted excellent technology. The graphics showing the underground laboratory were superb for the era. The graphics of the organism replicating were also phenomenal. The setup of the underground laboratory and the decontamination procedures were excellent. If you love the science in science fiction, you will find that this movie is the movie for you. If you prefer action and fiction in your science fiction movies, then you may want to pass this classic by.
Enjoy!
Bug, bug, whose got the Bug ?.......2007-05-23
As far as Science fiction goes ala movies, this is one of the better flicks in this catagory. Good acting and a attention grabbing plot and viewers will shout ! "THATS ENTERTAINMENT ". Buy it, you'll like it !!!!!!
Even better than I remembered it.......2007-05-15
I've had some bad luck recently tracking down older movies that I saw and loved as a kid, only to re-watch them and find out that they weren't very good (my most recent example is the movie "Night Of The Comet").
Well this movie I remember seeing as an ABC afternoon movie after getting out of school and loving it. Thankfully, It's just as good as I remember and even more so! The movie itself is fantastic in it's pacing, which even though is slow-paced, it's still very suspenseful throughout. The extra cool part of this DVD is being able to look at the original author, Michael Crichton's, first book/movie. He has since written some of the best stuff (Jurassic Park to name one) and has some very interesting stuff to say in the extras.
Speaking of extras, the DVD has some really great extra content for the movie and for Michael Crichton fans. I just wish there was more of it cause it goes by real fast.
Highly recommended.
Dated, but still a good movie..........2007-02-02
Good suspenseful scifi drama, even if it is a tad dated by today's standards. Excellent story, good visual effects, still keeps my attention after all these years. -kd5-

Based on a true story of the man who locked his boys out of the gym until they focused on their schoolwork, this by-the-numbers crowd-pleaser holds together because a steely Samuel L. Jackson refuses to notice the parade of clichés he's trumpeting (the dialogue sticks to platitudes like, "Success in here is the key to success out there"). Coach Ken Carter (Jackson) takes over an unruly team of Richmond, California basketball players and teaches them how to play--and behave--like champions. His plight, which pits him against an uncooperative school board and parents who've given up hope, holds some interest, but the film is too concerned with giving us a Big Game every twenty minutes or so. The teens all have the spark of life in them (including pop star Ashanti, who features in a surprisingly well-handled teen pregnancy subplot), though the film's plodding familiarity means it's never really rousing, adding up to simply a good-natured amalgam of Stand and Deliver, Hoosiers, Dangerous Minds, and even Dead Poet's Society (one of the tougher players actually recites some inspirational poetry).--Steve Wiecking
Description
COACH CARTER tells the inspiring true story of controversial high school basketball coach Ken Carter (Jackson). Making headlines for his emphasis on the importance of academics over athletics, Carter requests all the members of the team to sign contracts, promising to maintain a certain grade point average. When the players fail to live up to this agreement, Carter benches the entire team, locking the gym and forfeiting games to prove his point. This infuriates the community who sees this as a hindrance to the future professional athletic careers of the players. Through hard work and dedication, Carter eventually gets his point across to his team and the community, going above and beyond to ensure a solid academic future for his team.
Customer Reviews:
Coach Carter Has Guts!!!.......2007-04-10
A coach who insists that his players strive at success in the classroom as well as on the basketball court. May their tribe increase! Ken Carter accepts the job as coach of the California based Richmond Oilers, an inner city high school team. He makes the students sign contracts where they agree to maintain at least a 2.3 GPA, attend classes, and sit in the front row.
But as good as the team is becoming on the court, they are not all living up to the bargain in the classroom, so Coach Carter cancels team practices and games until the student athletes show improvement in their studies. This gets the coach in a lot of hot water with the community.
This is a hard hitting, gutsy movie that grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. The movie starts to become a bit predictable by about the halfway point, but that doesn't man that the film isn't any less satisfying.
This is simply great film to own on dvd! Every high school basketball team should se this movie because it teaches priorities, especially the priority of education above even sports.
very good story.......2007-03-11
At first I thought Coach Carter was going to be another sports movie along the lines of the Mighty Ducks (but in a basketball version) but as the movie goes on, you find out the story it tells is actually pretty deep and has an important message behind it. The movie is not just about playing basketball and winning games, it's about getting yourself a good education before having fun playing sports. It's about realizing that basketball is a game you play for fun, while staying in school and learning is more important and more rewarding in the long run. The ending is the best part. I won't spoil it, though.
Also, there's another message behind it. It's to respect the people who are trying their best to help you. That's what I got out of the movie.
Sports In The Game Of Life.......2007-02-16
If you heard Samuel L. Jackson discuss Coach Carter on the typical media blitz before the movie's release, you could tell this was a truly special role in his dynamite career. And the message delivered shows how sports - placed in its proper perspective - can boost young men to better understand the game of life.
Ken Carter is a successful sporting goods owner who accepts the head coaching position at Richmond (Ca.) High School, where he had been a top athlete back in the day. But the game isn't all that Carter is coaching; he institutes written contracts for each player that includes behavior, dress code and grade stipulations.
In 1999, Carter gained national attention when he benched his undefeated team due to poor academic achievement by 15 of the 45 players. Not only was the gym closed, there was a ban on all basketball-related activities and he was prepared to cancel the rest of the season, even with a bitter backlash from school officials, fans, players & their family members.
Jackson does an outstanding job in portraying a coach who understood that a game can teach crucial lessons in life. Rick Gonzalez (Timo Cruz), Nana Gbewonyo (Junior Battle) and Ashanti (Kyra) also do great jobs, though the entire cast really clicked with the script.
Coach Carter is not just a sports movie and its theme is very important for adults as much as it is for the athletes.

In a fitting follow-up to Bad Santa and Friday Night Lights, Billy Bob Thornton makes the most of the remake trend in Bad News Bears. He's just the right guy to inherit Walter Matthau's role from the original 1976 version about a lousy Little League team baseball team coached by a curmudgeonly drunk, and the original team of misfits has been updated (but not upgraded) to an ethnic mix that includes an Indian math whiz, a pair of Latino twins, and a paraplegic kid who doesn't play until the final championship game. It's a little sad to see a talented director like Richard Linklater doing an unnecessary remake, but his experience on School of Rock made him the obvious choice to mine comedy gold from the collision of Thornton and a batch of unruly, prepubescent kids (including Sammi Kraft, an all-star Little Leaguer in the role originated by Tatum O'Neal). With Marcia Gay Harden and Greg Kinnear in supporting roles, this isn't family fare (the potty-mouthed kids deservedly earned a PG-13 rating), but Thornton's easygoing presence makes it worthwhile for anyone who's not too attached to the original version. --Jeff Shannon
Product Description
A fresh take on the irreverent 1976 comedy hit, "The Bad News Bears" follows a grizzled former minor league baseball player who is recruited to coach a woefully inept Little League team to a championship against their hated rivals, the Yankees.
Customer Reviews:
Great movie for teens and adults.......2007-02-16
A librarian friend's review (from the Monroe County Library System webpage):
Billy Bob does it again. This man, in addition to being an incredibly intense actor, shows himself to be a screen comedian on par with the best of our time. But unlike a Will Ferrell or Bill Murray, Thornton didn't make his name mugging on SNL. His delivery is slightly cruel. He's a comic you respect but are a little afraid to get near. In Bad Santa (2003) and Daddy & Them (2001), Thornton seems as depressed and weary as only alcoholics, or abstaining alcoholics, can be, and capable of violence. Despite the fact that The Bad News Bears (2005) is essentially a kiddie movie, even more so than Bad Santa, Thornton's relentlessly dark delivery keeps you coming back for more. There's no one quite like him in movies at this time. You might have to go back to W.C. Fields to find a movie comic with a delivery so dark and seemingly won by hard living.
Billy Bob never fails.......2007-02-05
One of the best comedies I have seen. Billy Bob makes the funniest witty sarcastic perceptive films like no other.
Snore..........2006-07-28
I could have hibernated through this movie. You would think any movie with Billy Bob Thornton would at least be fun to watch just because he is in it playing the liquored up loser Coach Morris Buttermaker. I was disappointed. It was a listless movie with everyone just going though the moves. Or it sure felt that way to me. And I couldn't root for any of those kids. None of them had a little spark of charisma.
Avoid this remake and see the original with Walter Matthau. This version struck out with me.
My take on the bad news Bears .......2006-05-19
Well it seems to me that people don't like remakes, and even this one, but then again everybody does have a right to have thier own opinion on things. This is a re-make of the 1976 movie that stars the late Walter Matthau, which eventally brought 2 sequels, and a short lived TV series for one season (1979-1980) that only produced 26 episodes. Now the movie starts Billy Bob Thornton as the character that Walter Matthau played in the orginal, and the same name in the sequels and the series. Richard Linklater who also brought us School of Rock (2003) produced and directed this movie. Now I do confess this, I havne't really seen the orginal movie, so I saw this before the orginal, and I do understand that movie really got good reviews, well this didn't, or is it that I just love bad movies? Morris Buttermaker (Billy Bob Thornton) played the game of baseball for a very short time in the major leagues, and since he works as exterminator, which he agrees to coach a little league team, and he is handed the worst team in the league and that is the Bears. And the one person to thank that the team is still around is Liz Whitewood (Marcia Gay Harden) who filled a lawsuti against the league officals. And Morris meets the teams's rival coach Roy Bullock (Greg Kinnear) who coaches the Yankees that are the defending champions. And just look at the players he got, but he manges to get scouting down, and evnatlly gets 2 news players talked into joinning the Bears and changes thier season around when they start with a very disappointing loss.
Bad News Bears: Not For Everyone.......2006-05-15
This movie was comprised of a stream of dragging scenes of young boys fighting, cursing, and showcasing their unbelievably horrible baseball skills. Nothing deep, nothing profound. Just rowdy kids playing ball.
However, there were some sharp one-liners and jokes that made me laugh out loud. Billy Bob does a good job of playing a disillusioned, crass old lech trying to redeem his middle years by assuming the role of a little league baseball coach.
If you liked "A League of Their Own," you probably won't like this one because this movie is as far away from a chick flick as Liberaci is from being straight.

FOUND IT MUCH CHEAPER.......2007-01-19
Unfortunately, right after ordering the product, I found it more than 100.00 Dollars cheaper at the Dallas Cowboys page. I regreted my purchase deeply.
Nobody wants their kid to play football like the Cleveland Brownstains!.......2006-01-13
I am a father of a young football player. Before I bought this dvd, I would say my sons skill level was equal to Charlie Frye or Treant Dilfer possibly Kosar. Anyways you get the picture a very bad quarterback! Since he is learning from players from Different NFL teams and a hall of fame coach(Parcells) he has learned about cutting down on the fumbles like Ernest Byner. His interceptions have gone down considerably unlike Brian Sipes career. I don't know how well he will learn to ride a motorcycle in the future, but I am sure that a trained chimp can do it better than Kellen Winslow! Thanks Tuna! Go Cowboys!
Its about time.......2005-11-28
I got one for my son's birthday. Finally I get to watch my husband having fun with the kids. Our 10 year old especially loves football and looks forward to their short training sessions together. Plus the players are so "cool". My husband has a great time because he finally has something to do with them and the kids love having his attention! It's just really great to see them having so much fun together. My sister is returning the video game she got for her kid for Christmas and is buying one of these. Thanks for giving us the choice.

Awkward, but sweet........2007-06-17
Not terrible, just too many problems for me to really fully enjoy. The basketball coach is a complete dork, and the housewife is overweight and frumpish, so no way can you ever feel like there is anything hot going on. The love scenes were awkward, un-sexy. And the naked basketball playing? Uhhh, no. What worked was the reality that this kind of thing happens (the falling in love between women thing), the feelings between the women, and their developing love is sweet. The ending was very unrealistic though. If you absolutely have nothing else to do one day, it's not an entire waste of time.
A realistic, fun film.......2007-05-07
I liked this film a lot and found myself smiling through most of it. The lead characters look like school teachers, not actors, the script handles their emerging attraction in a fresh way, warts and all, and the situations they find themselves in feel real. There is a scene where they face their colleagues which seems a bit contrived, but maybe that's how they do it in Canada! In any event, the scene brings out the issues attaching to gay teachers quite well. All in all, a really entertaining film, especially for gay women past the baby dyke stage.
wow....this is the way it happens!.......2004-09-28
Falling in love with a woman, for the first time in mid-life, as many of us have experienced, is an astonishing occurrence. LATE BLOOMERS shows this to be true by including large doses of engaging tenderness and realistic scenes of stark honesty. In this film there are no women wearing slinky dresses, seducing one another in a pseudo-romantic Hollywood setting. Instead, Late Bloomers portrays finding love, and finding it just around the corner, all as it often happens. Quite unexpectedly, the lovers discover one another, and find the closeness and romance previously missing from their past involvements. One of the women is married, so if you first fell in love with a woman when married with children; you will appreciate the character's struggles and those of her family. However, alls well that ends well and this is without a doubt what this film portrays. LATE BLOOMERS is believable, with fine acting and a great story line. The women who play the roles of the two lovers are perfect, uninhibited in their lovemaking; funny, tender, and even sometimes fearful; yet always finding a way to stay the course together. LATE BLOOMERS creates an entirely possible story and presents it by using, not only some drama, but also a great deal of humor. Buy this film. You will absolutely adore it.
late bloomers.......2003-09-25
Two high school employees end up with an unexpected romance with each other, after one of them suspects the other of having an affair with her husband. When there love affair is outed, their suburban lives are in turmoil. Another reminder of being different in a "staight" community.
Sweet Love Story.......2003-09-17
Late Bloomers is an enjoyable sweet love story about two women who find love in the middle of life's journey. One woman, a school secretary, married with children, finds that her long marriage has died on the romantic vine many years ago. The other woman is a geometry teacher and girl's basketball coach who has never been in love. Through the learning and teaching of basketball, each woman finds in the other a love that they never thought they would find at this stage in their life.
I love that this movie portrays love and sex between two women who are not beautiful hard-bodied teenagers. It is fun however to see them react like giddy hormone driven teenagers in love's first blush. The actresses did an outstanding job playing two women awkward at love and there was a nice chemistry between them. I will never look at basketball the same way again and enjoyed the sport that plays as the platform for the women's romance.
The movie is meant to be part of the "feel good" genre so it is hard to criticize what appears to be unrealistic actions and reactions by some of the characters but I do have to say that the husband's reaction to his wife's new found love was quite implausible.
I would recommend this film to anyone who wants to see a lovely simple love story and would especially recommend it to anyone like myself who at middle age wants to see a semblance of their own life on screen.

Well folks, we're in for a good game tonight as the All Stars play their championship game without their controversial goalie Cathy Yarrow
When newcomer Cathy decides to join the boys' hockey team, the sporting community is divided. The coach is thrilled with the talented new goalie, but others aren't as pleased. Challenged by inflexible attitudes and small-town politics, Cathy continues to play with courage, determination and skill until she is cut from the team. With their championship at stake, the other players stand up for what they know is right and become winners by being true to themselves. They know when the game is over, it's who they are that matters most.

Hockey Night.......2007-03-11
I have loved this movie since the first time I saw it in the 80's. I recently bought the DVD and was disappointed to discover that they had edited the movie. This movie is about as tame as it gets so I'm not sure why they felt it necessary to do this. The parts they took out made the movie seem a bit choppy. There is not a notation stating that this movie is edited on any of the current listings or on the DVD itself - so beware. It seems as though this should be a requirement. If you want to view this movie in it's entirety, then you should purchase the VHS which is not edited.
so angry!.......2006-08-11
How could they butcher such a tame and great TV movie? I'm so pissed off! Going to have to get my old ex-rental VHS back off my friend now, cause this dvd was a complete waste of money and time! I just hope some better, more legit company releases the full version soon!
They edited a movie I use to love.......2005-10-02
I can't believe how much they cut from this movie. The took out the drinking, they took out some funny line all to make this movie a learning lesson for some family movie company. There was nothing really bad about the parts they took out. Why mess with something that was more real than what they left in. I was disappointed with the edited version. This refers to the DVD VERSION by FamilyTV.com
More PC Garbage.......2005-06-25
So sick of this same theme. Victimization. Makes it boring and politically correct which means reality goes to the back of the class for a "feelgood" session.
Sorry everyone. But estrogen is estrogen and testosterone is testosterone. We are all at the mercy of our chemistry and need to accept it.
If lifetime made a hockey movie.......2004-07-14
its an ok movie but too much like a lifetime orignal movie. the only show one hockey game. they show the crowd and play the star spangled bannger and o cananda but you never see them play the final game. if they was more hockey in it the movie would be better.

Coach Carter PSP UMD Movie MODEL- UM031764 VENDOR- UMD FEATURES- Coach Carter PSP Movie The true-life story of a coach who tries to teach his players that there is more to life than basketball is brought to the screen in this sports drama. Ken Carter (Samuel L. Jackson) was once a star player on the Richmond High School basketball team in Richmond, CA, and years later, after establishing himself in publishing and marketing, he returns to the school and to the team as the new basketball coach. Carter quickly sees that his work is cut out for him -- the team is having an awful season, and their fights off the court are more decisive than their play on the court. While Carter wants to make the Richmond cagers into a winning team, he also wants a lot more -- to teach the boys to respect themselves and one another, and that they must excel in the classroom as well as in the gymnasium. Under Carters guidance, the team turns their losing season around, with the state title a genuine possibility. However, when Carter learns that a number of his players have let their grade point averages slip below 2.3, as mandated in a contract he entered into with the students, he decides to lock the team out of the gym and send them into study hall until their marks improve. Carters plan quickly becomes a subject of controversy among parents and team boosters, and their objections are soon picked up by the local news media, many of whom are not sympathetic to Carters belief that his players must have goals beyond college ball or the NBA. Coach Carter also features Rob Brown
Customer Reviews:
INSPIRATIONAL SPORT MOVIE..........2006-06-22
When my daughter came over to visit, she suggested that we rent this film. Since it stars Samuel L. Jackson and is about a high school basketball coach, I thought that it sounded promising. Well, it turned to be more than just promising. It is a movie that held me riveted to the screen the entire time it was on. Samuel L. Jackson is simply outstanding in the role of a high school coach who sees basketball as the means to an end and not the end itself.
Based upon a true story that took place in Richmond, California, it centers on a man named Ken Carter. He was asked by the retiring basketball coach of Richmond High School to return as a part-time basketball coach to the school from which Ken had graduated and left his mark many years earlier. The school is one of those schools in which people barely graduate and, of those that do, most do not go on to college. The basketball team was no great shakes either, having won only four games in the entire previous year.
Finally, Carter is prevailed upon to take over as coach. He has, however, decided that he wants to make a difference. He starts off by letting the team know who is boss and by trying to instill discipline and respect. He wants to go back to fundamentals. He wants to put the emphasis on being a student athlete. To this end, he makes it clear just what his expectations are. He drafts a contract that those who wish to remain on the team, as well as their parent, must sign. Some of the conditions are that the players must attend class, do their schoolwork, and pass their classes. Those who signed the contract ended up making the best move of their lives.
Coach Carter keeps his side of the bargain, turning the team into a formidable one on the court. Suddenly, basketball at Richmond High School begins commanding attention. Notwithstanding this, he still emphasizes that they are to be just as committed to their studies. While one might expect some resistance from the student athletes to such a change, one would expect support from the educators themselves. What is amazing is the resistance that he experiences from the teaching community who are reluctant to give him progress reports on how his players were doing academically.
When Coach Carter finally gets his long awaited progress reports and discovers that some of his student athletes are not holding up their end of the contract, all hell breaks loose. Even though they have had an undefeated season so far, he basically locks the gym and tells his players that there will be no more basketball, until he sees some academic improvement. To his surprise, the school board, as well as the parents, does not support him in this matter, and the situation becomes a media sensation on the West Coast. Support comes from an unexpected source, the student athletes themselves.
This is a heartwarming story about a coach who cared and dared to make a difference in the lives of kids that had little or no future. What he did for those students was incomparable, as he basically gave them a chance for a better life. Samuel L. Jackson is sensational as Coach Carter, dynamic and totally believable in the role. The young men who play his student athletes likewise give excellent performances. Ashanti also gives a surprisingly well nuanced performance as the girlfriend of one of the student athletes. Moreover, for those who enjoy great basketball, the on court scenes are extremely well done.
At the end of the film, there is a summary of what happened to these young men. When the viewer sees what happened to them, the viewer cannot help be but touched by the turn of events. This is a very well acted, deftly directed, inspirational film and one that is worthy of being in one's personal collection.

Description
When a satellite falls to earth near a remote New Mexico village, the recovery team finds everyone in the area dead except an infant and an old derelict. The survivors are brought to a five-story underground lab, where scientists attempt to determine the nature of the deadly microbe before it starts a world-wide epidemic. From the novel by Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park).

-kd5-
