Christian (Wes Ramsey of the washboard abs) is a waiter, party boy, and first-class man magnet. Elder Aaron Davis (Steve Sandvoss of the goofy grin) is a straight-laced Mormon missionary. When he and three elders, including the uptight Ryder (Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mysterious Skin), move into Christian's Hollywood apartment complex, it's clear something's got to give. Christian tries to make his new neighbors feel welcome, but they're put off by his flamboyance--the short-shorts, the rainbow flag in his yard, etc. When Christian's trash-talking pals at Lila's restaurant, including the cynical Traci (Amber Benson, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), bet that he can't seduce one of these clean-cut young men, he takes them up on it and sets his sights on cute, soft-spoken Aaron. As a pretense, he asks to learn more about his Church, but where they really connect is over their love of old movies, everything from Psycho to Tommy. When Aaron accuses him of being shallow, however, Christian starts to wonder if the bet wasn't such a good idea--plus he's starting to fall for the guy. Turns out the closeted Aaron feels the same way about him, but when his roommates find out, he's shipped back to Pocatello where he faces excommunication. Written and directed by C. Jay Cox (Sweet Home Alabama), a former Mormon missionary, Latter Days features Mary Kay Place as Aaron's disapproving mother and Jacqueline Bisset as the acerbic, yet supportive Lila. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

4 out of 5 stars One of the Best of the Genre.......2007-06-22

I have read many positive reviews of this film and only 1 negative review (from gay.com amazingly enough) so I expected good things and was not disappointed. Of the two leads, Mr. Sandvoss (Aaron) is clearly the better Actor while Mr. Ramsey (Christian) is great eye candy and has the unrequited love thing down ! Mr. Ramsey's character Christian is a bit of a cliche - much like Dean Cain's shallow pretty boy in "The Broken Hearts Club" and the supporting cast here is largely forgettable, save for Ms. Bissett. Mary Kay Place, an excellent Supporting Actress, has an all-too-brief but powerful role. Ultimately all that matters is the love story between Aaron and Christian and it is bittersweet and wonderful. The last ten minutes of the film are true tearjerkers.

5 out of 5 stars An Awesome Tolerance Movie.......2007-06-12

I really enjoyed Latter Days because I found the love story between Aaron and Christian to be touching, and I also believe that the meaning of tolerance came out in this movie. I almost cried due to the epic scene with Aaron in the bathroom. If you liked Brokeback Mountian's forbidden love story, you will love the forbidden love story of Latter Days.

2 very sexy actors and it ends right. Great movie, great love scenes, the unrated version is much better than the watered down version they've been playing on LOGO.

5 out of 5 stars Fun Show.......2006-04-01

LOL..Well I enjoyed Boystown, being from Chicago and we are truly know for what is Boystown. After watching it a couple of times I looked at it as almost like a gay soap opera. The music was great and I purchased the soundtrack which is amazing. Apparantly the asian guy in other review doesnt understand the concept. As with every show you either love it or hate it.I do want to see them step it up for the next episode but Im there.

4 out of 5 stars Ok, I am interested, to a point...........2006-03-07

A new Gay show. After QAF, I needed something to fill the void...

This episode caught my attention. But the episode is a little raw and needs to be "spiked" up a little. I was slightly disappointed. The characters were briefly introduced and the story line was limited. I gave it 4 stars because even though this episode is raw, I feel it has potential. In my opinion, they have my attention with the plot. But the story line is a little weak. I think they need to introduce the characters more.

Will I get more episodes, most likely. Even though this first episode was weak, I would like to find out what happens....

Its not for the QAF fans though. This show is different. Definitely a work in progress.

5 out of 5 stars Fun Show, Great Cast.......2006-01-29

I saw this last year at the N.C gay and lesbian film festival and loved it. I also was able to meet some of the cast members and spent a couple hours hanging out with Rick,Albertossy and L.K., they were all so gracious and made my experience a very memorable one. I also purchased the soundtrack for the show which is awesome.Hope to see you again this year!

4 out of 5 stars Entertaining.......2005-10-08

I thought Boystown was entertaining, got several laughs. Alot of memerable lines especially in the party scene. Made me think of Sordid lives, low budget but entertaining. The landscaper can do my yard anytime he wants!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent story line!.......2005-10-05

After watching this dvd I want to see more. The story line and the quality of this independant series is excellent. Enjoyed the characters very much. Can acutally relate to one of them. I strongly suggest this dvd to anyone looking for something different. I hope the second episode comes out soon.

5 out of 5 stars A Refreshing, New Angle for Love Stories.......2006-08-09

LATTER DAYS is a classy little film that holds its own among the light love stories out today. And yet it is more: some unique phobias and prejudices are examined very genuinely and the result is a movie that gives us not only characters about whom we care but enlightens us as to both sides of an ongoing issue: homophobia.

Bright, crisp writing and directing by C. Jay Cox, LATTER DAYS presents a tale of a West Hollywood effervescent young man who plays the bar scene and one night stands joie de vivre to the hilt. Christian (Wes Ramsey) lives in a bungalow apartment setting with his roommate Traci (Amber Benson) who is a singer (and a fine one!). Into their rather wild life atmosphere enters a group of Mormon missionaries, out from Utah to spend their requisite two years converting the world to the Church of the Latter Day Saints. All but one are homophobic, redneck types, but one of them, Aaron (Steve Sandvoss), is a closet case gay man. Traci and Christian establish a bet about Christian's able to seduce Aaron and the games begin. The courtship is actually mutual and once the two have been together it is Aaron who feels the anguish and Christian who re-examines his motives and feelings. The rest of the story is tender, deals with many interpersonal issues not at all restricted to the gay world, and revealing the ending would be unfair to the complete enjoyment that this movie offers. Suffice it to say that the cast is excellent and includes wonderful roles as Jacqueline Bissett as owner of the bar/restaurant were Christian works, and Mary Kay Place as Aaron's died-in-the-wool Mormon mother.

The pacing is brisk, the acting is top notch, the cinematography is first rate, and the music score is well integrated. But the overall reason to see this film (and see it again) is the sophisticated manner in which C. Jay Cox explores one set of religious issues in the complex pattern of same sex relationships. This is an intelligent, funny, tender, and inspiring movie. Grady Harp, August 06

          Product Description

The predominant characteristic of the End Time Churches will be apostasy. The Bible tells us about the churches of the first century, how they started and some of the good and bad points of these churches. John states in the book of Revelation that Jesus is revealing "what was, what is and what is to come." The "what is to come," is the final false church of Revelation 17. This church will have the False Prophet as the overseer and will proclaim the Antichrist as the Savior of the World. The "what is" is the church era and Revelation depicts the typical churches of John's day, inthe letters to the seven churches, and they also represent present day churches. These churches can also represent the various ages within the development of the church. Revelation gives us the order: The attributes of these churches are also representative of present day churches. We have both extremes, the Philadelphian church - those that are watching and waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Laodicean type church that is a church in name only.

Fennessy

was right on the money. Well worth the $$.

5 out of 5 stars Best GLBT Movie I've seen in a while.......2007-06-09

2 very sexy actors and it ends right. Great movie, great love scenes, the unrated version is much better than the watered down version they've been playing on LOGO.
