The DVD also features a 30-minute interview with costar Esther Ralston, an essay by film historian Frederick C. Szebin, and a treasure-trove of archival stills and promotion materials in a photo gallery. --Sean Axmaker

Fine casting, genuinely special effects, and a keen combination of whimsy and danger make this Peter Pan the one to beat among all previous adaptations of J.M. Barrie's classic children's fantasy. The technical advances of CGI make the magic of Barrie's tale come alive, and the spectacular effects combined with luminous live action create an action-packed Neverland that's both believable and breathtakingly artificial, like a Maxfield Parrish landscape springing vividly to life before your eyes. More important, however, is the fact that director P.J. Hogan (whose splendid films include Muriel's Wedding and My Best Friend's Wedding) has taken care to develop a substantial, pre-adolescent affection between the boyish sprite Peter (Jeremy Sumpter) and resourceful London girl Wendy, played by Rachel Hurd-Wood in a marvelous screen debut. This emotional bond--and the mixed blessing of Peter's eternal childhood--is what gives Hogan's Peter Pan its rich emotional subtext, added to an already bountiful adventure that's equal parts delightful and menacing, especially when the villainous pirate Captain Hook (Jason Isaacs, doubling as Wendy's father) threatens to spoil the fun. With a mischievously dazzling Tinker Bell (played by Swimming Pool's Ludivine Sagnier) and no expense spared on its lavish Australian production, this Peter Pan gets it entirely right by presenting childhood as fun and frightening, in all its wondrous joys and sorrows. --Jeff Shannon

Time to treat yourself, and take a trip with Peter Pan.......2007-05-17
I saw Peter Pan when i was a little boy, and it stirred my imagination soo
much that i dreamed that i was actually flying with Peter.
No movie could ever match what i saw and from that day i would not view
any new Peter Pan movie....till now
I have seen this Peter Pan movie, and it keeps up with the old and even
better cause its live action. Peter is great, the captain is still mean
and dark as he should be. Can be viewed multiple time..
recommended coming-of-age story.......2007-05-14
I saw this version of Peter Pan tonight for the first time. It is recommended.
What I find noteworthy is the Wendy Darling coming-of-age story. I wish I could have watched it with my daughters. They are far, far away. Sometimes I miss them so much I wonder if I will Never Land again to give them hugs, wipe away their tears, and share their smiles.
Peter Pan (Full Screen Edition).......2007-05-13
It was just what we were looking for as a present for our 10 year old daughter. We could not locate it at any local stores that sold DVD's
Thanks to you, we have a very happy young lady!!!
An Excellent Adaptation of an Old Favorite.......2007-04-30
Everything you remember is here: Peter Pan, the Lost Boys, Captain Hook, and the ticking crocodile. But this isn't the Peter Pan you though you knew. Previous adaptations highlight childhood as an ideal time of innocence and play. Those elements are very much in place here but there are also darker elements of danger, fear, and even the begining of sexuality. In other words- it presents a realistic vision of childhood within the context of a fantasy.
We open in London where the Banks children are told stories of Peter Pan and Neverland. But things are changing. Aunt Millicent points out that the eldest of the Darlings, Wendy, is approaching adulthood and should begin thinking about marriage. Peter Pan on the other hand is the boy who never changes and new grows up. But that also means that he's perpetually on the brink of puberty. In Wendy he finds a maternal figure that he and the Lost Boys crave, but also a budding love interest. The kiss between them is far from a thimble. That's not to say that there is any overt sexuality here. Peter and Wendy are very much innocent children in that regard but there in the hint of it being a possibility someday. Captain Hook is representative of all our childhood fears. He's far more menacing than his Disney counterpart but never so scarey that kids can't handle it. The pirates and mermaids also have a degree of menace but it's something that children can face in order to conquer. Overall this isn't a simplistic, idealized view of childhood but rather a depiction of childhood as a time of magic, innocence, fun, fear, and anticipation of the future.
The special effects and CGI are visually wonderful and gives us a more believeable Neverland. It's still a fantasy but we are able to believe in it for the duration of the film. The suspension of disbelief that the film requires (in older viewers at least) is aided by fine performances all around. Jeremy Sumpter is mischivous and cute, and slightly obnoxious at times as the title character and Rachel Hurd-Wood is beautiful, adventurous and lively as Wendy. Ludavine Sangier is comic and slightly homicidal as Tinkerbell and Jason Isaacs steals his scenes in a dual role as Captain Hook and Mr. Darling.
Usually a "family film" means something adults have to sit through while kids enjoy it. This is one of the few films that truely does provide enjoyment and even a little insight for both the young and old.
Magical Film Adaptation.......2007-04-20
My daughter really enjoyed Disney's "Peter Pan" and so I thought I'd check this one out and see what she thought. It blew us away! My daughter was captivated for the entire movie and honestly, so were my husband and I. This movie has a magical quality that so few children's movies really achieve. This alone really makes it worth owning. The actors were perfectly cast and the special effects are great! The actress that plays Wendy is stunning and I expect to see a lot more of her in the future. The subject matter and tone is certainly darker than in the Disney version, but I think with some parental guidance most kids can handle it. I still think the Disney version has a lot of charm and is special in a different way.

There's no doubt that that adding an exercise ball to your routine will perk it up, but--depending on your sense of balance--it may also land you on the floor. Instructor Keli Roberts and her two able assistants make no such descents, but beginners are bound to wobble, which Roberts acknowledges with reassuring frequency. The three 10-minute workouts can be done individually or combined since they focus on different areas. Round 1 concentrates on the lower body with squats while holding the ball, balancing on it for a variation of the yoga bridge and squeezing it with the upper thighs. Workout 2 tones the arms and back by lifting dumbbells while sitting or leaning on the ball and using it for pushups. The final routine is specifically for the abs: sit-ups, curls, yoga's plank and downward dog, and Pilates scissors--all atop the ball. Weights are recommended for the second routine. --Kimberly Heinrichs

Fun, challenging and different!.......2007-06-14
After reading the reviews here I was a little concerned, as an intermediate-level exerciser, that this DVD would be too easy for me. I'm happy to report that it wasn't!
Doing deep one-legged squats while rolling a stability ball in and out with your other leg ain't exactly easy! And neither is doing a shoulder bridge with one leg on the ball while rolling the ball in and out. These exercises, from the "Lower Body" section, are great for improving your balance and core strength, as well as being a lot of fun. This workout also includes some moves, such as side leg lifts, which use the stability ball for added resistance; I intensify these by using a medicine ball instead.
The "Abs" segment includes crunches on the ball; an exercise where your head, neck and shoulders are supported while you raise and lower your hips to work your lower back muscles; oblique crunches; opposite arm and leg raises while on the ball; back extensions; roll-outs; and planks. Keli also includes an easier version of the traditional pike on a ball.
I haven't tried the "Upper Body" workout as I prefer lifting heavier weights than would be safe to use on a stability ball. I love Keli Roberts as an instructor - she always comes up with some new moves - and I love the Quick Fix series!
Great format.......2007-06-05
This is my favorite workout dvd! It is thorough and the countdown clock is perfect for us impatient types who hate to work out and are constantly wondering when it will be over, LOL! With the exception of one or two positions, it is not overly complicated and most beginners can handle them. If you are older, out of shape/inflexible or have never done any ball exercises or yoga/pilates it may take you a minute to get used to-- just don't stress if you can't do some of the more advanced moves right away, you will find that 99% of it is still worthwhile.
great workout, felt it the next day.......2007-05-09
I have been working out steadily for a month and I wanted to break up my routine, so I decided to try the stability ball again. I still had mine from like 10 years ago, so I thought that all I needed was a pump and I would be good to go! Not so, I am on a very tight budget so I figured oh well, especially since at my local sporting goods store the cheapest ball was like 25 bucks! So, I left discouraged, I had to go to Walmart and I decided to look and see if they had them and low and behold not only did they have the ball, but it was only 9 bucks! So, now I had the ball and a very old tape with the workouts, again being on a tight budget, I went to Ross and found three stability ball workouts...can you believe it! They were all under 7 dollars! I bought the 10 minute solution stability ball workout and The Quick Fix workout.
I love both workouts, they both have great exercises. I think the ab work on the Quick Fix is a bit more challenging and you don't ever have to get on the floor to do the workout, which I love! There is no cardio or warm up, cool down or stretching on this video, but that isn't a problem for me because I run about 1 to 2 miles everyday so I get my cardio in and as far as stretching is concerned, get the 10 Minute Solution Stability Ball workout, it has a wonderful flexibility workout and a pretty good cardio workout! If you do both tapes together you can get a darn good 50 minute workout! Or do them seperately, if time is of the essence! It doesn't matter what you do, just do it!
Excellent.......2007-03-27
Pros: Excellent workout, good stretching, balance, workout with weights.
My back feels so good after this workout.
Cons: A section for warmup would be good.
Great for the beginners.......2007-03-09
I was a beginner when I bought the DVD, the three 10-minute sections for upper body, lower body and abs make it easy for me to carry it out according to my schedule. You can do it altogether or only do part of it. The instructor is really helpful and the exercise is easy to pick up. You definitely will FEEL it after the exercise!!! Overall, this DVD is pretty good for beginners. The only downside is that it doesn't have much for warm-up, if you need some more warm-up before the exercise, you'll be on your own.

Customer Reviews:
Great Fun, and cardio too!.......2007-06-26
Quick Fix Cardio Workout is one of my first and still favorite dance oriented workout DVD. As with all the Quick Fix videos, this program is divided up into three 10-minute segments (as well as a bonus segment), which make the workout seem really fast.
The instructor is Juliane Arney and her style of teaching the moves makes the video cool. Each segment consists of two 5-minute routines, which are combined at the end for the "real workout". The moves take a little time to 'get down', but once you've learned them, you'll find yourself staying just a bit ahead as Juliane builds upon each move.
The video is not terribly challenging on the body, but it is cardio and therefore good for you! Some of my favorite moves include "Zip-It, Drop-Out, Waterfall, and Spin the Record". As Juliane says during the program, "It doesn't even feel like working out. It just feels like having a good time." And it does!
It is ok.......2007-06-13
I was expecting more from this work out after reading so many positive reviews, I bought the video and was dissapointed. I am passing it on to my little sister who is in her teens. The title is rather misleading, you can use this video for kicks if you don't feel like "working out" in the true sense of the word.
Not Fun & Dorky.......2007-06-09
I watched this (and tried it, of course!) once and never opened the DVD again.
I like to dance for exercise, but it's got to be fun, and to me, this one isn't. The instructor's approach was, to me, ho-hum.
I'm a beginner, so maybe people who just love dance classes and aerobics classes would like this, but it wasn't enough fun to motivate me, personally, although I also would not call it "too advanced". Just dull.
In buying it, I hoped to have fun dancing, get some exercise and learn some new moves for the dance floor.
Not fun for me. Try Turbo Jam.......2007-05-13
I have about 30 workout dvd's. This is in my bottom 3. I did it all the way through twice and It wasn't fun or much of a workout. I didn't even break a sweat. I am in average shape. I bought it around the same time I purchased some Turbo Jam dvds so compared to them this one is not fun or challenging.
Get moving!.......2007-04-10
If you want to get moving and learn hip hop moves, then this DVD is for you. It's broken down into separate sections so you can do a little or alot depending on your time frame. You will break a sweat after one segment b/c you do move continuously. If you are a beginner, you'll get it soon enough! I'm getting it down pretty quickly and I've never hip-hopped. It's a nice change from regular aerobics if you like dance.

Quick Intro to Kickboxing.......2007-06-30
I'll state what is obvious first: This workout works pretty well if you are running short on time and want to get some "cardio" in.
I feel I can do this workout on any day, even when I am NOT in the mood to workout. And that is saying alot about the DVD.
Its broken into 10min segments. There three segments:
1) Upper Body
2) Lower Body
3) Core/Abs
Plus a bonus section, this one is a great finale.
Overall, my heart rate goes up to just about the right range.
The day I am looking to burn calories and want to "enjoy" a workout, I pick this up. This is my no excuse DVD.
Of course, for a balanced workout routine, you probably want some resistance training on other days.
Overall, I would say this is somewhere in between beginners and advanced levels, probably low end of intermediate.
Enjoy!
Love Quickfix Total Cardio Kick.......2007-05-27
Great DVD, watched it on ExerciseTV and I had to buy it. The routines are not boring and the instructor is motivating. I'd recommend this DVD to anyone wanting a good workout.
I love this DVD.......2007-05-15
I'm not an advanced exerciser and can barely keep up and I certainly feel it the next day, but Janis does a good job of keeping me motivated and I enjoy it despite the difficulty.
Love this Workout!!!.......2007-05-07
This workout - whether you do 10 minutes at a time or all 40 minutes together - will get you sweating and panting in no time. I absolutely love Janis Saffell -ever since I first did her Crunch workouts. She is personable and in great shape, which inspires me to keep going. My workouts need to have variety and this fits the bill. I get my cardio in and never feel cheated. I recommend this one highly!
Great workout DVD........2007-04-11
I really like this DVD. The workout consists of 3 different 10 minute cardio kickboxing routines. There is a menu feature which allows you to choose one of the workouts or do them all together. The first 10 minute cardio segment emphasizes your upper body, the second cardio segment focuses on your lower body (and wow did I feel it in my legs) and the third cardio segment focuses on core and abs. It's a great overall 30 minute cardio routine that will let you get some problem area toning in at the same time. The routines will get your heart rate up, but are not hard to follow. The instructor is likable and in great shape herself. She has two background exerciser girls with her and one of them does the routine with modifications for beginners to follow along with.
There is another 10 minute workout in the bonus section of the menu which has some cardio and some floorwork toning as well if you wish to do a 40 minute overall workout. I liked this DVD.

Amazon.com essential video
"Worn to perfection" is the tag line promoting this crafted character study. It describes Paul Newman, the resourceful 70-year-old lead actor, but not his character, Sully, a North Bath, New York, loner who totally emulates the negative definition of the title. Newman gives a brilliant performance (Oscar-nominated and winner of two critics circle awards) relying on his well-honed subtleties. The dramatics are simple: the return of his son (Dylan Walsh) and grandson, offering a chance to reconcile; odd jobs for a construction company he's trying to sue for an injury; and a comedic grudge match against the owner (a reserved Bruce Willis). North Bath is the kind of place, wrapped in winter (beautifully shot by John Bailey), where enemies are friends, marriages are shaky, and Hawaii is only a state of mind. This "town drama" of a blue-collar America offers the patient filmgoer a rich and rewarding experience. Another small gem from writer-director Robert Benton (Places in the Heart). --Doug Thomas
Customer Reviews:
Good vehicle for Newman.......2007-03-15
This is a very entertaining movie. I had heard nothing about it so it was a complete surprise. I knew that Paul Newman would not appear in anything less than first class so I chose to watch it, knowing I wouldn't be disappointed. I enjoyed every moment, mostly because of the incomparable presence of this eternally attractive man. The rest of the cast was first rate, too. I was pleasantly surprised by Bruce Willis and Melanie Griffith and especially by Jessica Tandy (whom I rather disliked in Driving Miss Daisy).
I found the reviews of people who had read the book helpful and that probably explains why I failed to give this five stars. They said that the book is darker and that this is a more Hollywood-ized version of it. I did think that Newman's character was almost too cute and charming in the beginning. He wins our hearts in the first scene, when I think the darker elements of his personality should have been portrayed. And he looks so good--perfect teeth and skin and hair and wears really nice clean plaid shirts in lovely colors. I think that the "real" Sully, would have looked a lot more beat-up--like his pick up. Then we would have journeyed with him in the transformation process that the film shows. It's too slick and quick and easy here. Only the anger of the son showed the extent of the pain that Newman's character inflicted on him.
I wondered, too, about the relationship of Sully to the Melanie Griffith character, which, the film treats in a very light-hearted way, that doesn't completely justify the ending. I suspect that there was more to it in the book. However, as several other reviewers (who read the book) said, if you just want a good, entertaining movie, this is a good one.
Highly Entertaining.......2007-03-07
It was just that, it was a great film with entertaining aspects every few seconds, drama every few seconds, rarely have I seen a film so well balanced and move so smoothly and entertainingly.
No nonsense.......2007-02-19
A real no nonsense character brings some real life leasons to the screen. What a pleasant relief from the usual Hollywood drivel. This movie is right up there with 'The Long Summer of George Adams'.
I love this movie!!!.......2007-01-19
It's a movie that I've watched over & over. There's humor, sweetness, and what else can you say about Paul Newman & Jessica Tandy in the same movie!
Classic Newman.......2007-01-10
Melanie Griffith, Bruce Willis,Jessica Tandy and PAUL NEWMAN...what more really needs to be said?
This rather dry, dark comedy is among my favorite movies by any of these actors. Superbly acted, you cannot move from your chair while the movie is on!

Good workout, but old..........2007-05-24
This set is good b/c it offers a variety of lengths and a few different steps, so you can easily fit to how much time you have. It is set in the 80s or 90s, so it is an older version, but the workout is still good. She is a real person and not cheesy, but a good, low impact workout.
Yuck!!!.......2007-05-13
This was clearly recorded in the early 80's when she was trying to refine her style and figure out what worked and what didn't. The studio/design elements were horrible. The camera shots were very amateur. I didnt like how it went from Mile 1 to Mile 2 to Mile 3 with obvious breaks in between. It is terrible! I had Walk Away the Pound on VHS and was looking to upgrade to DVD. I figured I would buy it on Amazon and save myself some money. In the end it was a waste of money because I had to go to Leslie Sansone's website to order a more recent workout program and boy was it worth it.
good but it could be better.......2007-05-07
I used to watch the walk show on demand tv and it was pretty good, but this dvd kind of disappointed me because it looks like old. No one in 2007 wants to exercise with a dvd from the 90's so I really hated that part.
Other than that it's pretty good. The exercise is low impact, but it works, if you make the 3 miles you will notice some pain in your muscles at the next day. The third mile is definitely KILLER, oh gosh! was hard to finish that one.
fitnes dvd........2007-03-09
I am very pleased with the dvd's. She is real person, with and easey
way to work --walk to better health,
Good Workout.......2007-02-23
The one mile workout is ok, but the two mile has more moves, so I like it better. I have not made it to the four mile dvd but hope to be there soon!

Unlike Disney's other sequels to their classic films, this follow-up to the 1953 version of Peter Pan debuted in theaters. World War II has turned Wendy's preteen daughter, Jane, into a realist, a girl who insists there's no need for stories and fun while London is crumbling. Hook kidnaps Jane (thinking she's Wendy) and returns to "the second star to the right" to foil Pan. Alas, the film doesn't build on this new story line (the London scenes have the most emotional impact), and what follows is a thin reworking of the original. On the plus side, a clever octopus takes over from that old crocodile, and Jane turns out to be a solid--and modern--role model. Those from ages 4 to 9 who have been brought up on the original should enjoy these adventures, even if the story, like Peter himself, "hasn't grown up." The 72-minute film is shown with the delightful 1948 short "Pluto's Fledgling." --Doug Thomas

Junk.......2007-05-26
At a younger age, I thought this was junk. Now that I'm older, I find that I was being foolish. This is beyond junk, its on the verge of being untouchable waste. As far as Disney sequels go, this one ranks with Cinderella 2 and Air Buddies. I wouldn't even recommend showing this to a baby that has no ability to understand bad movies from good movies, because this will teach them to enjoy nothing of value.
a short review........2007-03-25
First, this movie is overrated and doesn't come close to the Disney original. Disney once stood for quality and entertainment. Now they will exploit any of their classics with a plethora of bad sequels.
I'm not just a hater of new Disney, I own and have seen this movie. Some of it is actually not too bad. Captain hook is funny and the animation is top notch. However, Peter Pan doesn't seem like the same Peter. He seems more immature and annoying. Also, why did they need to have the same dog and call it Nanna 2? This just goes to show how little thought was put into the movie. Out of all the names for the dog, they choose Nana 2.... my god!
Captain Hook Junkie.......2007-01-06
If your kids love Captian Hook or pirates this is the DVD for them. My son loves pirates so he always likes to watch this one.
Return to Neverland? More Like Return to Disney Sequels... .......2006-02-09
You may have read my review for the Disney film "Peter Pan". I said it was a good movie, right? Well, this one did not live up to it's 1953 prequel. It was boring and dramatic and just another cheap Disney sequel.
It starts out completely wrong. Jane, Wendy's daughter, did not exist during World War II but in the late nineteenth century. She was never against Peter Pan and she did not have a brother. She was just a little girl who dreamed of going to Neverland when her mother stopped believing. Also, Captain Hook SHOULD BE DEAD but he comes to England in his flying ship (?) to kidnap who he believes is Wendy.
Once Jane arrives at Neverland she meets Peter Pan. I was really shocked here. What happened to Peter's voice? It is TERRIBLE in the fact that it sounds far too adolescent.
After this meeting, several adventures ensue, including Jane's attempt to escape the island that she still does not believe in. She can't learn to fly and in a rage she blurts out she doesn't believe in fairies, so Tink becomes weak. Jane repents and saves her and becomes friends with all the Lost Boys, eventually fulfilling her dream to become the first Lost Girl. But she has forgotten she made a deal with Captain Hook to help kidnap Peter. Now it is up to Jane to save him, and she does, therefore removing Peter from his post as hero and becoming heroine.
There were a few strange parts about this movie. The Indians are never shown, even though there is a brief pass through the Indian Territory. There is scarcely a visit to Mermaid's Lagoon. And once again, Tootles has no voice. The best part in this movie is the end credits with BBMak's version of "Do You Believe in Magic?". This movie earned three stars, and only because it is tied-in with Peter Pan.
P.S. Check out the other Peter Pan-related reviews by Tinkerbell III!
Um.......I Don't know.......2005-11-27
I like this movie and I don't like this movie. Like my dad I LOVE PETER PAN. I've read the book a million times over, and I was really excited when I saw the previews for this movie. My family saw it in the theaters and I really liked it at first. But after seeing a few times more then it got a little cheesy. The music doesn't really fit the movie and Peter acted more like a kid than ever( even though he's not suppose to grow up they could have made him have more brains than that). This movie is good but it has some parts that are embarressly kiddish. Out of the three squels I think disney did a good job on this one would be second place.

Love this workout.......2007-03-07
I am definitely not sedentary nor a beginner. I think this workout is GREAT!! No, it's not hard, but that's part of the point - you'll stick with it. And wedding or no, who wants a grump leading your workout? Yeah, it's peppy and fun and isn't that what keeps one coming back! An exercise program does not have to be difficult to be effective and if you're not sweating, maybe that says more about the effort you're putting in than the workout you're doing. As an active woman and an experienced fitness buff, I recommend this workout because it's easy to stick with. In my opinion, consistency is more effective than sweat.
let down.......2007-02-09
The work out wasn't all that great. It gave a few new moves I hadn't seen before, but not all that beneficial. The band was a pain to use and keep on you. I think you should save your money and get a better workout somewhere else.
Gets you in the mood for your big day.......2007-02-06
I can't believe these other reviews. One of them sounds like someone was stood up at the alter..haha. This workout is to get you ready for your wedding day, which is why the instructor, Mia, is so peppy. It's that time in your life when it's time to get excited, be cheesy, and just feel great. This workout keeps you moving to fun music and keeps you smiling because you're getting ready for the biggest day of your life. I love this workout because it's so much fun and you definitely will sweat...I highly recommend it.
Not at all challenging.......2007-01-28
Having not worked out for over a year, I did this workout for the first time and didn't even break a sweat. I can only see it being useful for beginning exercisers who are extremely sedentary. Also, the instructor is irritatingly peppy ("Throw those bouquets, girls!") Ugh. I recommend the Women's Health Wedding Workout instead; it's much more challenging, especially for upper-body toning.
Disappointment.......2007-01-24
This workout disappointed me. The cadence of the workout was varying speeds (many times not matching the music), the counts of repetitions were off more than once, and the energy level was quite low. I definitely had better workouts - Crunch pilates series. If you are interested, rent through Netflix, do not buy.
