From the director of Dude, Where's My Car? comes another crazed tale of two friends on a perilous quest--in this case, to eat burgers at the fast food restaurant White Castle. The pair--repressed Harold (John Cho, Better Luck Tomorrow) and freewheeling Kumar (Kal Penn, Love Don't Cost a Thing)--get extremely high and set off on the road, only to be sidetracked by skateboarding hooligans, racist cops, an inbred tow truck driver, and Neil Patrick Harris--yes, Doogie Howser, M.D. The humor is all over the map, and it would be nice if there were one female character who wasn't a caricature, but Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle has a loose, gregarious charm, and the movie's canniness about the cliches of the buddy-movie genre give it a sneaky subversive feel--just the fact that neither of the heroes is white puts a different spin on just about every circumstance. Surprisingly clever, cheerfully stupid. --Bret Fetzer

Asians on Drugs.......2007-06-15
Being an Asian immigrant who likes to occasionally eat at White Castle, I was interested in seeing this film. It turned out to be worse than I could have imagined. The movie is about drugs, drugs and more drugs and there is nothing funny about it. White Castle hamburgers make an appearance at the end but mostly it is drugs the Asian characters want. They smoke marijuana all the time which is not like any Asians I know. The white people in the movie are always calling Asians names but that is not like any white people I know either. In the real world, it is only the Black and Spanish that have called me names because I am Asian. I would only recommend this movie if you think it is funny to watch Asian people smoke marijuana.
Reefers and Slyders.......2007-06-03
You've got to cut independent films like this some slack given they are produced on a low budget with relatively inexperienced actors and crew people. You've got to cut this film even more slack because it is a comedy: Even if some things seem pretty stupid, they are meant to be stupid. The problem with "Harold & Kumar," however, is that it is much more stupid than ever intended. You can cut it all the slack you want and it's still pretty bad.
The story is about an East-Indian (or is he Pakistani?) named Kumar and his Korean friend (or is he Chinese?) named Harold. Smoking dope supposedly gives you the munchies, so, one evening, after smoking lots of marijuana, they get a craving for White Castle's mini-hamburgers ("Slyders"). But finding a White Castle proves harder than expected. The movie is about their bizarre search for more marijuana and for a White Castle.
"Harold & Kumar" is kind of a cross between the worst of Cheech & Chong and that academy award winner for politically correct zombies, "Crash."
Every White person in the film, except for Harold and Kumar's Jewish neighbors, is a racist who shouts slurs at our Asian leads. Harold and Kumar have anti-Asian slurs hurled at them all day long from White people. (My wife is Chinese and she has never been subjected to a racial slur by a White person in the more than fifeen years that she's lived in the New York City area.) The non-Jewish Whites in the film are either criminals who terrorize minorities or thuggish police officers who arrest Black people just because they are Black. (Yeah, who ever heard of a Black criminal?) That the only nice White people in the flick are Jewish is kind of interesting given that the screenplay was written by two guys with the surnames "Schlossberg" and "Hurwitz."
This is one of those movies, like the "Fritz the Cat" cartoons, that you have to watch stoned to enjoy. I'd say that you'd have to be really, really stoned!
One thing that is effective about the film, however, is that the ending will give you a craving for White Castle. I've never been a big fan of those Slyders but, the day after watching this film, I went to the White Castle on Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst to get my fix of them.
Great movie even for a gay guy!!!.......2007-05-29
I am a gay guy and I loved this movie for all of the "campyness" it had to offer. Two stoners set out on their "quest for munchies" to a White Castle. What I found very different about this movie is that neither of the lead characters are white. It was this little twist that made this movie an "over the top" funny. My favorite part of the movie is when their car broke down and this redneck stops to help them. You will have to watch the movie to totally understand it. I recommend this movie to anyone that wants a good laugh for the night!!!!
Bryce MUNCHIES.......2007-05-02
This movie Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle is a comedy movie. It contains scens that are full of laughtur and adventure. The movie is about these two people that go through hell and high water to get there hands on some White Castle burgurs, but have to do certain tasks to do so.
This is by far the #1 movie in the Uniter States, but that is just the movie watching king's apinion
hilarious.......2007-03-16
this movie is so funny i watch it and before i did i thought it would be some dumbass movie about two idiots doing nothing but its not like that these two guys smoke weed in their apartment then they figure that they would wantto eat something other then what they had so they see a commercial for white castle burgers so they go off looking for this place that is only 45 mins. away. but it ends up taking many hours it is so freakin funny you have lived til you seen this halarious movie
WATCH IT!!!!!!!!!

How's this for impressive trivia: Dodgeball faced off against The Terminal in opening-weekend competition, and 29-year-old writer-director Rawson Marshall Thurber aced Steven Spielberg by a score of $30 to $18.7 in box-office millions. That's no mean feat for a newcomer, but Thurber's lowbrow script and rapid-fire direction--along with a sublime cast of screen comedians--proved to be just what moviegoers were ravenous for: a consistently hilarious, patently formulaic romp in which the underdog owner of Average Joe's Gym (Vince Vaughn) faces foreclosure unless he can raise $50,000 in 30 days. The solution: A dodgeball tournament offering $50K to the winners, in which Vaughn and his nerdy clientele team up against the preening, abhorrently narcissistic owner (Ben Stiller) of Globo Gym, who's threatening a buy-out. That's it for story; any 5-year-old could follow it with brainpower to spare. But Thurber, Vaughn, Stiller, and their well-cast costars (including Stiller's off-screen wife, Christine Taylor) keep the big laughs coming for 96 nonsensical minutes. With spot-on cameos by champion bicyclist Lance Armstrong, David Hasselhoff, Hank Azaria, Chuck Norris, and William Shatner, and a crudely amusing coda for those who watch past the credits, Dodgeball is no masterpiece, but you can bet Spielberg was unexpectedly humbled by its popular appeal. --Jeff Shannon
Description
You'll dodge, duck, dip, dive. . . and laugh out loud watching Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller settle their differences in a winner-take-all dodgeball competition. Under the painful tutelage of legendary ADAA champ, Patches O'Houlihan (Rip Torn), Peter LaFleur (Vaughn) and his Average Joes take on the Purple Cobras, led by egomaniacal fitness guru, White Goodman (Stiller). It's an over-the-top underdog tale filled with hilarious sight gags and balls-out fun!
Customer Reviews:
Everybody loves to see a good wrench-to-the-head scene.......2007-06-27
Ok, very funny movie. Quite a bit of language from Rip Torn, although it's funny/embarrasing. I don't think the Unrated version is any better than the other cut. So what ever's cheaper.
Silly and totally hilarious movie!.......2007-05-25
I really didn't know what to expect when I watched this movie, but I certainly didn't expect to be laughing so hard that my stomach hurt! Ben Stiller truly inherited some comic chops from his comedian dad Jerry Stiller, and it shows in this movie. He is unequivocably funny every time he's on screen. Vince Vaughn, with his less flamboyant and more deadpan style of humor, is just as funny as the leader of the opposing team. And what a silly premise - dodgeball! It's the game you haven't thought about since you were 10 years old, and to think there's a movie about it that is actually VERY FUNNY. Enjoy this silly movie that is very, very entertaining.
Entertaining Comedy.......2007-05-21
I am glad that once in a year a person can see a good comedy where people try to achieve something to save themselves from downfall.
Ben Stiller is pretty awesome and rough in his character. I would have preferred more effects when contestants are hit by the ball.
Neverthless outstanding 'unique' comedy- belongs with Get Shorty, Borat, and Dumb and Dumber.
FUN! A poopy-flavored lollipop will never look the same.......2007-04-26
A superb cast, super-funny script and lots of fun loaded with physical comedy make Dodgeball a winner. Never a lull in the laughs, this film is an upbuilding, fun flick to share with friends. Rooting for the underdog is an exciting and hilarious experience. Watch with friends.
Dodgeball has the Patches O'Houlihan seal of approval.......2007-04-23
What is there to say about Dodgeball - A True Underdog Movie other than it's a no-brainer of a hilarious movie that doesn't aspire to lofty heights. What it does do is come out firing with some of the funniest physical comedy and one-liners since The Farrelly Brothers' Something About Mary. First time director Rawson Marshall Thurber does a good enough job to keep the laughs coming one right after the another to keep Dodgeball from becoming too repetitive.
The movie is a riff from the stock underdog sports genre with a Peter La Fleur (played by Vince Vaughn with his usual sardonic wit) having to find a way to save his Average Joe's Gym from being foreclosed by his bank and turned by a rival hi-tech gym next door into a parking lot. Who else would be the perfect foil for Vince Vaughn's Peter La Fleur but none other than Ben Stiller as the former-fatty turned workout fitness Nazi, White Goodman. Goodman's Globo Gym is a state-of-the art, sterile and BALCO-like gym where insults and making its members feel ugly, fat and useless is the way to clean health and the perfect bod.
Already, within the first fifteen minutes, we know who to root for and who to boo. In one corner we have the Average Joe's guys played with comedic timing by Justin Long, Stephen Root, Chris Williams, Alan Tudyk and Joel Moore. Stiller's Goodman and his consigliere Me'Shell (Jamal Duff channelling Barry White) with a hand-picked ringer of a dodgeball team he calls the Purple Cobras. With the two sides set the dodgeball carnage begins as Average Joe's must win the Las Vegas Dodgeball Invitational to earn the $50,000 needed to save the gym. To round out the Average Joe's team will be the bank accountant who ends up sympathizing with the Joe's, Kate Veatch (played by Stiller's real-life wife, Christine Taylor) and Patches O'Houlihan (Rip Torn in a scene-stealing role).
Rip Torn is hilarious as the acerbic and insane former Dodgeball great Patches O'Houlihan. He pretty much gets all the best one-liners in the movie the moment he appears on the screen. He coaches the Average Joe's team by browbeating them, insulting them and, failing that, throwing wrenches at them to help them in learning the 5 D's of dodgeball: Dodge, duck, dip, dive, dodge. In fact, I would say that if it wasn't for Rip Torn's character dominating the middle part of the movie, I think Dodgeball's constant ball to the groin shots would've gotten old. Instead Patches O'Houlihan constantly gave people watching a reason to laugh out loud.
Dodgeball - A True Underdog Story is a movie that the Academy voters will not think twice about showering with praises and awards, but I'm sure most of them will be watching it and laughing out loud like the rest of the movie-going public. Dodgeball is one hilarious, one-liner after one-liner ball to the nuts funny and it doesn't aspire to be anything else but that. This movie will never get old with each viewing and will continue to make people laugh out loud.

Computer generated special effects have seldom been so giddy as in Shaolin Soccer, a gleeful fusion of kung fu and a classic Bad News Bears sports story. A former soccer star--whose "golden leg" was broken by a hired mob--assembles a team of former students of Shaolin martial arts, whose assorted skills (indicated by their nicknames, like Mighty Steel Leg and Iron Head) lend themselves to the swift interplay of the world's most popular game. Along the way, the team's leader (Hong Kong comic superstar Stephen Chow) meets a sticky bun baker (Vicki Zhao) whose kung fu is the equal of any of his teammates. Shaolin Soccer is supremely silly--in the final match, their opponents are called Team Evil--but that's part of the fun. American movies rarely achieve this perfect balance of the absurd and the sincere. A delight. --Bret Fetzer

Have an open mind.......2007-03-25
If you have seen Kung Fu Hustle you'll probably enjoy Shaolin Soccer. It shows a light-hearted approach to spreading the Kung-Fu gospel to different walks of life. Its fun to watch and just enough special effects give it an amusing edge.
ONe of the best films out there.......2007-02-13
If you want a movie that is hilarious, unusual, heartwarming and inspiring all at once, buy this movie. This is a great add to any movie collection. Stephen Chow always manages to entertain us with his amazing imagination, characters and storylines while inspiring people with his uplifting message. WAtch this film.
Shaolin Soccer..........2007-02-04
A fun movie! I actually liked it! The Special Effects were also good! If you can get it cheap, do so and have fun watching it! Three stars!
slightly disappointed.......2007-01-13
i bought this movie after being blown away by the actor/director's masterpiece, Kung Fu Hustle.
while it contains similar humor elements and near-anime-type action, it's really not worth the buy, and you would be better served by purchasing Kung Fu Hustle which is much funnier and overall a better production. i probably watch Kung Fu Hustle once every couple of months, which is no small complement.
This movie is ridiculously funny!.......2006-12-14
Stephen Chow did an amazing job of creating a story involving real characters in not so real, but agreeable situations. He has given each character a personality of its own; just to create comedy, with a humor that is sometimes honest and others rough. It has some great comedy moments although, coming from the characters, very peculiar ones.
It basically all comes from the characters. You have different persons, united by one thing: Shaolin Kung-Fu. And then you have one man, with one passion: Soccer. This premise helps to create human emotions in the characters. They all have a past that, for some reason, want to forget. Except one of them, who could be living in the past, and still thinks in the goodness of Shaolin Kung-Fu. He believes in it so much, that he gives speeches to people about the qualities of his culture, and the improvement it could do in society. He is right, and sooner or later, she will remind these things to some people, and they will all remember. They will all be prepared to get together again.
What a good-hearted film this is, and how it is filmed, it's beyond imagination. You will find special effects from other world. In occasions, these will seem slow for you, and you will think they are not well managed or handled; but then you will watch. Watching will make you connect all the elements of the story, to make it one. In elements I include special effects, and say again: they couldn't be done better, especially in a movie like this one.
The entire cast did a wonderful job in their roles by giving their characters the personal development they need. They are not playing the most complex people in the world, but they still know what characters they're playing. Some of the scenes, such as the first time we see Mui making bread, are absolute genius; so funny that you can't help but to laugh. I felt Mui seemed like she should have been in more of the film, and I've read that a lot of her part got cut out of the American release, which is a shame. A number of people are saying the original is vastly superior to the edited U.S. version, but this version is so great that I would be mightily impressed if that were true.
The idea of this movie is ingenious, using the style of extravagant martial arts films in a soccer movie, and is done beautifully. You will probably find something you've seen before, I can't deny that. You will find the ending you expect, the situations you imagine, the resolutions you anticipate, or not. You'll have the old coach, the person with the dreams and the heart, the girl; it's just that you'll have them differently (you'll realize what I mean). This is another type of cliché, a very different one, so different that I would say it is not a cliché at all.

It was a pretty good movie and I enjoyed seeing it again, but why were they playing in Baltimore's Camden Yards? Cleveland Municipal was still open, but Jacobs' Field wasn't opened until 1994.

Ok. As this movie follows on from the first Major League movie, expect laughs and a couple of new faces. It continues with the same players who end up coming back to play for another season. The "Wild Thing" has gone commercial, is always looking at selling something, you have Roger Dorn who now owns the team and is slowly going bankrupt. The team morale is down and they end up on a losing streak and then the witch comes back and buys the team back again. Watch for the part with the japanese warrior and pedro exchanging the phrase of "losing your marbles". Great movie for those who are interested in a quick laugh while enjoying watching baseball.
The Indians Are Back!.......2006-01-15
The boys from Cleveland are back to prove that last year's team was no fluke in this great sequel film. After winning their divison, the Indians were defeated by the Chicago White Sox in the ALCS. After losing, team owner Rachel Phelps (Margaret Whitton) sold the team to former third baseman Roger Dorn (Corbin Bernsen). Roger then brought in high-priced free agent catcher Jack Parkman (David Keith) to bolster the Indians line up. However, incumbent catcher Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger) is still on the team, along with another catching prospect, Rube Baker (Eric Brushotter). Pedro Cerrano (Dennis Haysbert), Willie Mays Hayes (Omar Epps), and Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn (Charlie Sheen) also return from last year's team, along with manager Lou Brown (James Gammon).
Hayes starred in his own action movie in the off-season, and also tried turning into a power hitter, much to the chagrin of manager Brown. Cerrano discovered Buddhism, and now treats everybody as a friend, even the opposing players during a game. Jake's knees finally got the best of him, but Lou asks him to stay on as a coach. Roger soon finds out that he's in way over his head. He overpaid Rachel for the team, and now he has only enough money left for two months of operations. His first move is to trade Parkman to the hated White Sox for outfielder Isuro Tanaka (Takashi Ishibashi). Tanaka immediately challenges Cerrano, saying he has "no marbles". Roger's second move is to re-sell the team back to Rachel, much to the horror of everyone else! Rick Vaughn has shed his "Wild Thing" image. He and his agent/girlfriend Rebecca Flannery (Alison Doody) have concentrated on getting commercial advertisements and endorsement opportunities. Meanwhile, Rick has lost a lot of the zip off of his once-blazing fastball, and he's now getting hit hard by opposing teams.
Their season starts out rather slowly, just like the previous year, and to make matters worse, Lou Brown suffers a heart attack and is forced to step down as manager. Jake is given the job as manager in Lou's absence, and it falls on his shoulders to mold the team back into winners. Will Jake be able to get the team back on track. Will Rick, Willie, and Pedro re-discover their lost talents?
Many times, sequels fail to live up to the success of the original film, but that is not the case with this excellent movie. Major League 2 is every bit as good as the original. Having everyone except Wesley Snipes back from the first movie helped to make this movie so much fun to watch, and Omar Epps does a fantastic job taking over for Snipes as Willie Mays Hayes. Newcomers David Keith (Parkman), Takashi Ishibashi (Tanaka), and Eric Brushotter (Baker) add new flavor with their new characters, and Bob Uecker returns as the zany Indians announcer Harry Doyle.
I give this movie my highest recommendation. Baseball fans will surely enjoy watching the Indians in their chase to win the World Series.
Not up to the standards of the original.......2005-12-21
While the original film was great and is one of my all-time favcorites, this sequel in no way comes up to the same standards of humor or storyline. In fact, it comes off as a blatant attempt to squeeze a few more dollars off of the original films followers. You don't need to believe me. Try renting it before you put down hard-earned cash on this wannabe...
good to the last drop.......2005-08-31
always somewhat skeptical when it comes to sequels. major league 2 right on target. answers some questions from number one and makes you keep laughing. good, good, good

Proving that truth is often greater than fiction, the handsome production of Seabiscuit offers a healthy alternative to Hollywood's staple diet of mayhem. With superior production values at his disposal, writer-director Gary Ross (Pleasantville) is a bit too reverent toward Laura Hillenbrand's captivating bestseller, unnecessarily using archival material--and David McCullough's familiar PBS-styled narration--to pay Ken Burns-like tribute to Hillenbrand's acclaimed history of Seabiscuit, the knobby-kneed thoroughbred who "came from behind" in the late 1930s to win the hearts of Depression-weary Americans. That caveat aside, Ross's adaptation retains much of the horse-and-human heroism that Hillenbrand so effectively conveyed; this is a classically styled "legend" movie like The Natural, which was also heightened by a lushly sentimental Randy Newman score. Led by Tobey Maguire as Seabiscuit's hard-luck jockey, the film's first-rate cast is uniformly excellent, including William H. Macy as a wacky trackside announcer who fills this earnest film with a much-needed spirit of fun. --Jeff Shannon

Seabiscuit.......2007-06-08
Very inspirational movie. It shows how close a person and an animal can relate to each other. You can see the true beauty and strength of a racehorse. It give a lesson on never giving up, and how you do need others to help at times.
Loved this film but know others who did not.......2007-05-23
This is a wonderful film. It's a story about a race horse who should not have won, ridden by a jockey who should not have won, owned by a man who pulls himself out of grief by his devotion to the horse, the jockey, the trainer, and a second wife.
The story starts with a man (Jeff Bridges) who moves to California and opens a bicycle shop. He is failing until he switches from bicycles to automobiles. He becomes a millionaire selling automobiles. He buys a ranch and uses the barn to store his car collection. After his son is killed in an auto accident, the cars are removed from the barn and taken away. His first wife never recovers from the death of their son, blames her husband, and leaves him.
He meets a young beautiful woman who becomes his second wife. His wife loves horse racing. He decides to buy a horse. He searches for just the right trainer to pick out a horse for him. He finds the trainer, a taciturn man living by himself, camping in the wilderness. The trainer sees Seabiscuit on a track and tells the millionaire to buy him. He sees a certain spirit in the horse who has been mistreated all his life. There's a certain irony that a man who made his millions selling cars which replaced horses should buy and become devoted to a horse.
Tobey Maguire's character was given away as a child to a horse trainer by his parents (virtually abandoned). He loves horses. For a time, he gets to race as a jockey but as he grows up he becomes too large to be a jockey and starves himself to keep his weight down. By the time he is hired by the millionaire to be the jockey for Seabiscuit, he is a broken down has-been jockey.
Both the jockey and the horse have to be retrained out of the self-destuctive habits of a lifetime. Together, they become winners.
All of the major characters associated with the horse Seabiscuit have suffered. They come together as a family of choice rather than one of blood and it is through their association with Seabiscuit and each other that they are each healed.
Some people will not love this film for various reasons. Let me tell you about two.
My parents grew up during the great depression. They have told me many stories about their life back then. For me, this movie made that period come alive, made me understand how bleak the depression was, the desperation that many people faced.
It gave me a better understanding of why my parents are they way they are, how they were shaped by the times they lived through as children and teenagers. But I think that is the reason my mother had difficulty watching this film. Its depiction of the great depression was too real. It reopened the wounds that had scarred over from the suffering my mother experienced during the depression.
My husband was lukewarm about this film too. Perhaps it is because his grandparents and parents were part of the middle class during the depression so there is no family narrative about suffering during the great depression. Also, my husband's attitude toward life is to pretend that nothing bad ever happens in the real world -- he would rather not face up to the less pleasant sides of reality. He does not mind watching violent movies with lots of gore and death because they are phony and not reality. I think this movie was too much unpleasant reality for him, something he'd rather pretend did not and does not exist.
We can all learn something from this Movie........2007-04-24
I just love this movie - and I have watched it many a times. Not only because it deals with horses, which I love, but more with the theme it is dealing with.
You will no doubt find out what the story is, or you would have seen it already (it was released around 2003 or 2004?), but there is a line which came up in the movie a couple of times, and I like it a lot. It goes something like:
"Just because someone's got banged a little, we are not gonna throw a whole life away".
It's vitally important we give ourselves or someone else a second chance. It is just equally important that we grab that second chance ourselves, whenever it comes, before it fades away.
There are many second chances out there to grab, it is just a matter if we would have the heart to grab them or not. Not everyone strikes out winning the first time, but to keep fighting without losing hearts is vital.
Both the Horse (Seabiscuit) and the Jockey (Red) made a comeback when everybody thought they were out for good; one (the Jockey) broke his leg in a riding accident, the other (the Horse, Seabiscuit) sprained its ligament in a race. All the doctors and vets told them they would not ride nor race again in their lives, one even suggested to put the horse down, but the Owner gave them both a second chance, they took the time to recover enough to make a comeback. And they did it, together.
It may sound an ordinary story, a plain sporting movie to try to inspire and draw a few tears in the audience, well, not for me. This actually happened in real life. And it happens on a daily basis to a lot of people. It matters if one has the heart to fight back.
Another part I like the movie Seabiscuit a lot is that:
The Horse Seabiscuit was a castaway whom nobody thought could achieve anything in racng - he was only 15 hands tall, not big enough for a racerhorse. The champion War Admiral he faced was a full 19 hands, and a thoroughbred.
"He may be little, but he is fierce" - and his hearts and racing spirits made up for it.
The Jockey was a losing jockey, a nobody who lost his family in the Great Depression, had to beg to ride for racings, but he had the fighting spirits to give it a go, never giving up.
The Trainer was an old man who knows his horses, but nobody thought well of hiring him because his ways were peculiar, even eccentric
The Owner was a divorced person who made out on his own, made his fortunes all by himself, but felt guilty for the death of his son. And he had had the hearts to give both the Jockey and the Trainer, and even Seabiscuit himself, a second chance(s).
When Seabiscuit won the races, people said the 3 of them, the Owner, Trainer and Jockey had fixed a broken horse. In a way, they all fixed each other.
It was a good story. It teaches me a lot. We could all learn something from it.
Accepting the challenge of life is difficult........2007-02-27
In this feature film about horseracing and one champion, we vicariously travel back in time to see the beginnings of a rich pasttime. In New York City 1910, the Ford Model T, off the assembly line developed by Ford Motors, competes with all the pretty horses for the attention and money of those who flaunt their status. The horses are on a ranch, encirled by something new then, barbed wire fence.
Across country, it is till a varied transportation in San Francisco where the horse and carriages races bucyckesm the Stanley Steamer and a very small locomotive. An optimistic repairman became a car salesman for Buick. The old race cars were something else. The future is in the finish line.
In Alberta, Canada, the sky is the limit! Betting on the horses was the thing to do in Tijuana, Mexico, as a mariachi band plays and the liquor flows where gambling proliferates. There is a Spanish bullfight, matadors all decked out for the kill. The 1929 Crash on Wass Street causes unemployment, homelessness, and the Great Depression is born. Tor those who have them, there is a national migration in their automobiles.
This is a disjointed story but, finally, the stars Sea Biscuit and Tobey Maguire, too big to be a jockey, are there in all their glory at the famous racetrack in Kentucky. Tom Smith made a good medicine man.
Red is all grown up telling his stories about Sultan. In Saratoga, New York, we've come full circle. After a successful team effort, Sea Biscuit, a real race horse, is put out to pasture ans is shown as Ferdinand, a fictional character, sitting under a Juniper tree. Thank goodness, he didn't have the same fate as Barbaro.
Mostly on the money...........2007-02-14
There were a couple of places in the movie that I thought were unlikely, but overall, it is a nice piece to watch. I watched the documentary (also sold on Amazon), on Seabiscuit before I watched the movie, and I found that to make the movie more interesting.

GRIND.......2007-06-12
These four skaters Eric, Dustin, Matt and Sweet Lou are trying to get sponsored by Jimmy Wilson, a professional skateboarder. They have a lot of obstacles they have to go through to make it to the top. There skate team brings a lot of difficulties and girls with them. On their journey the boys get stuck cleaning pools, toilets and their van. These boys finally get there chance to show Jimmy what they got but he leaves the team to chase him. When Jimmy finds a tape of them skateboarding on his bus he finds them and sponsors them. Later Eric's wish comes true he get's his name on the board.
This movie was really good and I think other people will like it too. This film was a book before the movie was made. This is not a movie for kids younger than 13 years of age.
I would recommend this movie to any one over 13 years of age. I would also recommend this movie to anyone who skateboards.
INSANELY GREAT MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-06-12
GRIND
Casey La Scala
"Dudes, get the moron outta' the pool."
With hilarious lines like that, you know "GRIND" is a hit. GRIND is all about some average-Joe skaters who want to make it big time. They believe that if they get in front of a pro just once, they'll get sponsored. They run into some hilarious predicaments along the way, and "Mick-job" their way through it all. As long as you're with the "Super Duper Skate Team", you'll fall to the ground laughing and never get up! I guarantee that if you watch this movie a few times, you'll be imitating it months later.
Partners-in-crime Eric Rivers (Mike Vogul), Dustin Knight (Adam Brody), Sweet Lou (Joey Kern), and Matt Jensen (Vince Vieluf) make this film the funniest I've ever seen. I have watched this movie at least 50 times. In my opinion, the character of Matt completely makes the movie.
I recommend this movie to all near the age of 13, considering it's rating (PG-13), and even if you don't skateboard, you'll still love this insanely hilarious comedy.
Utterly Boring, Bland & Unfunny!.......2006-10-02
As movies go, this must be the most boring one I ever saw. And I've seen heaps. It's basically a run of the mill Teen Flick, but without the jokes and the nude babes that are usually at the center of such features. It is utterly unfunny and the characters are bland if not annoying. I couldn't even bear to watch it all the way to the end. Really, if you're looking for a fun or at least moderately entertaining teen flick, look elsewhere. Try 'Old School Unrated', 'School of Rock' or 'Road Trip' if you want uncomplicated fun. Try 'Thirteen' or 'Spun' if you're looking for something grittier. I'd Leave this one well alone if you don't want to be bored to death...
BEST MOVIE EVER MADE! NO JOKE!.......2006-08-02
This is by far one of the funniest movies ever made. I've seen it 1,000,000 times and every time laugh over and over again. The best part of the movie has to be Mike Vogel who is the hottest person in the entire world. Not only is he smoking but he is also a very talented actor and is hilarious. 5 STARS AND MORE! GO RENT IT NOW YOU WILL LOVE IT!
A Road Trip Changes Their Lives.......2006-05-29
Grind is a exciting ride that will keep you in your seat through the whole movie! I like it because I like skateboarding, and even if you don't enjoy skateboarding, it will still keep you cracking up throughout the movie. And if you haven't started skateboarding, it will encourage to go out there and buy a board right away! It's a laugh out loud comedy that will keep your face red the whoooole movie.

Major League: Back to the Minors
On this team they don't just throw screwballs, they put them in uniform! Scott Bakula plays a minor-league manager on the spot to turn a squad of sad sacks into title contenders in another hit sequel featuring Corbin Bernsen, Dennis Haysbert and the inimitable Bob Uecker.

Major League 3: Back to the Minors.......2007-05-13
The plot it predictable and the acting mediocre. If you are just looking to kill some time and watch a movie strictly for entertainment that requires no concentration what so ever this is the movie to see. Otherwise the only reason to have this movie is so you have all three in the series or if you have a baseball movie collection.
Back to the Minors.......2006-08-30
Good and funny like the first two Major League & Major League II
It is what it is and nothing more.......2006-05-29
I'll admit that the only reason I even considered watching this film is the fact that Kenny Johnson and Walton Goggins are in it. I'm a huge fan of The Shield and wanted to see the actors in more films. Was I very critical before I saw it? Yeah I was, how could you not be.
Like I said before, the movie is what it is. A goofy, often funny, movie that's almost entertaining the entire way through. Yes it's bad, but it's also enjoyable in that way. It's not trying to be a classic, it's trying to be a fun movie. And in that way I think it's very enjoyable.
Most fans of the other two major league films are very critical of this one. In my opinion, I really don't consider this a film in that trilogy. Yeah I know it shares the name of the other two, but it's just different. It's really just a film on it's own, and that's the way I think it should be seen as.
Shame to the holy name of Major League.......2006-01-16
This is just blasphemy. As a devoted (ridiculously, I might add) fan of the first, and appreciator of the second, I gotta give this one my lowest rating. Fans of the series will find little to enjoy about this made-for-video release.
Clearly, Warner is trying to squeeze every last drop out of the Major League franchise...
It was Good.......2005-10-03
I like Major League: Back To The Minors, I found it funnier then the second Major League movie. Quantum Leap dude was a good addition to the series, I was disapointed Al wasn't there.
