This inane mecha OAV boasts a back story so convoluted, it has to be explained onscreen in print. An ancient civilization that drew power from feng shui created the enormous robots the Devil Dragons; the greatest of them, Dangaizer, required three pilots. Ten thousand years later, that civilization is trying to make a comeback. Teenage game champion Hina is the descendant (reincarnation?) of one of that pilot trio: she joins Cindy and Fou in the predictable battle against the operators of the Devil Dragons. Dangaizer involves too many characters and too little character development. For all its complexities, the plot exists only to provide a setting for the mecha fights, which aren't particularly well staged, and the jiggle shots--most of the characters are pneumatic women who run around in a few plastic curlicues. Releasing four 30-minute episodes on two discs is decidedly chintzy. (Rated 16 and older: violence, nudity, profanity, tobacco use) --Charles Solomon

4 out of 5 stars Good Anime, better animation!~.......2004-04-21

As far as mech-fighting is concerned, this rather tame, and the storyline is not too great. But it's also not too bad.
The animation is top-notch, the characters are cute and funny, the music is great, and overall this is a decent anime. I was expecting more fan service and was happy that they kept it under control, as it kept the story on a more serious note. Definately worth at least 21.99.

3 out of 5 stars Cool costumes.......2003-02-08

This is a pretty good DVD. The animation is crisp and of course, The women are gorgeous. The Feng-Shui thing knocks you a bit off track but all in all its a cute anime to own. The costume design's are fantastic though the brief nudity was too Sailor Moonish for me.
