Maybe 3 stars is a bit generous; however, from a film history standpoint, this is an interesting compilation, especially since 2 of the films are re-makes of 'B' sci-fi cult 'classics'.

"In the Year 2889": Re-make/rip-off of Roger Corman's "Day the World Ended" in color. A waste of color film (and the time it took to process it!). Paul Peterson (anyone remember "The Donna Reed Show" on TV??) is the 'hero' in a woodenly acted version of Corman's moodier, creepier and much, much better cheapie from the 50's that was filmed in glorious black and white.

"Idaho Transfer": Probably the best of this bunch. Directed by Peter Fonda, it's the tale of a government secret research project that's a secret kept from the government(!). Give this one some time...it's not an Acadamy Award winner by any stretch of the imagination, but it's worthy of your attention, especially for cinematography. Beautifully photographed, many awesome shots. A bleak, troubling journey into the near future. On another level, a great hiking/camping/outdoors movie.

"Journey to the Center of Time": Shameless rip-off of Ib Melchoir's "The Time Travelers" without the acting, humor, continuity or values of the original. It does take several 'special effects' scenes from the original movie. Terrible casting of and acting by Scott Brady, who plays a 40 year old man going on 17. The film is hampered by a low budget and inept directing. Look for Lyle Waggoner as the alien leader! If you've seen "The Time Travelers", it is clear that this film is from the Alternative Universe of B Movies! From that perspective, it's still fun to watch.

"The Day Time Ended": The always beautiful/sexy Dorothy Malone plays opposite former TV cowboy star Jim Davis in this ho-hum saga of a family put upon by time-warping aliens, or something. The film's premise is classic sci-fi, but the script, directing, and acting get in the way. Sort of a "Close Encounters" meets animated clay figures (and wooden actors).

Buyer Beware!!!.......2006-03-16

This is not the Ib Melchior 1964 version of The Time Travelers. It is instead a 2-disc set that contains four films. "In the Year 2889" "Journey To The Center of Time" "Idaho Transfer" and "The Day Time Ended". All four films are presented in terrible condition with heavy scratches on both disks. Hopefully I can return this horrible purchase without spending more than $8.99 for the return shipping. Save your money and buy something else!

If this is the English movie with the littel boy in his bedroom that finds the map of all the holes in time along with a strange band of travelers, it's a fabulous kids movie that I would like to see again. I'm not sure I have the right movie in mind. Can anyone confirm this?

In 1964, Ib Melchior (Robinson Crusoe on Mars) made The Time Travelers. 3 years later David Hewitt made Journey To The Center of Time - a very disappointing, obvious ripoff of The Time Travelers.

If I wanted to purchase a box set about Time Travel, I would not buy one with Journey To The Center of Time.

This is one of my favorites,great camp,lots of inside jokes,a good plot,and if you used to read Famous Monsters of Filmland like I did,there is a special guest shot of Forest j Akerman in it also. This film was also shown in the Air and Space Museum during their sci fi film series. The cast does a good job and some pretty good special effects. For a low budget sci fi flick it covers a lot of ground,post nuclear war,mutants,space travel,love affairs,some wild futuristic music,and of course time travel.I think the ending will leave you thinking,and wanting to see this movie again and again.

Stop this nonsense, Rhino... release season 3!.......2005-10-12

Season 3 was slated for an August 9 release... then, APPARENTLY, someone at Rhino got the bright idea to hold the release back indefinitely to shill this little 4-episode waste of money. My advice is... don't buy this. Make Rhino eat as much of the production cost as possible.

Where's Season Three????.......2005-09-14

This happens more often than not since the release of older tv shows on DVD has become popular. The distributors such as Rhino suck us, the consumers into buying,as an example, seasons one and two of My Favorite Martian and anticipating the scheduled release date for season three. Companies such as Amazon need to start holding the feet of companies like Rhino, to the fire and make them release what is promised on time. DO YOU HEAR ME AMAZON AND RHINO????

I love sailor moon in its orignal japanese form not the edited version. I like uncut dubs not edits. In America This is a kid show. In Japan its an older teen anime for kids 15+ or 13+. Sailor MoonR is finally availble in japanese with subtiles. I ignore sailor moon dubbed and watch the amazing subtile version. Usagi is the BEST.

This DVD contains the episodes:

Smarts Payoff- Sailor Mercury is accused of cheating cause of her good grades and then she is set against her friends by the enemy.

Child's Play- Rini finds a friends but the negamoon sets her against her after the battle Rini decides to take the scouts to the future.

Future Shocked- The scouts get lost in the time warp and have to fight to save Rini form danger.

Legend Of The Negamoon- Everyone arrives tot he future and all is revealed to the scouts by Darien's future self. ( Serena and Darien find out Rini is their daughter)

Jealousy's Just Reward- Emerald's jealousy blinds her with power and turns into a powerful dragon bent on destruction.

This season is great it's about some major aspect of the Sailor Moon series and it's also about Reeny. Great huh! Sailor Moon is great.

An interesting little movie.......2006-02-25

This movie is surprisingly good and a little less confusing than the average Japanese flick. The two main heroines are pleasing to the eye and effects are decent, the only real problem I have is with the transfer...rather subdued colours and lacking a little clarity.The rating would have been higher with a quality transfer..I'm not going to bother going into any plot details, if you like slightly off-kilter Japanese SF you will like it...especially if you have a roving eye for the Asian ladies.

Sophisticated Sci FI!.......2003-11-22

The Dimension Travelers is a decent film which explores the posability of alternate realites.

The film centers around a school girl Midori (played by Chiharu Niiyama) who begins to find her life and friends routine and boring, until she meets a new student at her school Mayumi. The girls connect and become fast friends. Eventually Mayumi confesses that she is a dimension traveler, which allows her to enter alternate realites by the sheer force of imagining them with her mind. Mayumi also reveals that Midori is a dimesnsion traveler, and soon Midori is caught up in the ability to switch her realities. As she switches realities, Midori soon discovers that not all are safe. Both to her and the worlds in general. In one reality she is a mental patient in a psychatric hospital. In another the people of the world are being controlled by a mind altering device, and Midori is part of a resistance force. Soon the ability to jump into other realities becomes a problem for both the girls and a third dimension traveler. The worlds begin colliding with one another creating chaos and destruction. The three travelers discover what the problem is in the end and have to make a sacrifice in order to save the realities. I don't want to spoil the film for you, so I'll leave the rest for you to see.

The Dimension Travelers is an intelligent story, and was written by the same screenwriter of the anime movie Perfect Blue. The film plays out more like a psychological tease leaving the viewer to decide if Midori is really switching into alternate dimensions, or if she's just plain crazy. The special effects are average, save the reality where Midori is a freedom fighter. The two leads, Midori and Mayumi, do a good job with their roles and help convey the urgency of each reality. Also, the soundtrack fits the film with it's hauntingly Sci FI sound accompanied by a female vocalist.

The tech aspects of the DVD include both a Japanese and English dubbed version.(English dub is done well on this one) Movie tralier, a bio on Chiharu Niiyama, character notes and some DVD-ROM features.

I did like this film and have watched it more than once. However, I only gave it a three, because the film moves along slowly, and the disc quality could have been better. This edition appears to have been copied form a laser disc where a slight glitch appears, also there are a few spots where the color looks a little too green.

This film is not for everyone, but if you like psychological teasers, anime that makes you think, or non-action oriented Sci FI, you might just enjoy this film. It's worth a watch if you fit into any of those three categories. Just don't expect a Matrix type film. It's definately not that.
