"Diario de una Pasante" is a Spanish comedy that concerns a group of young radio station interns. While the film tries to be lively and colourful, it's also superficial and ultimately dull. When the film begins, the interns gather around a large conference table and receive the standard lecture from their new exacting and impossible-to-please employer. As interns for the summer for CCN--a major Spanish radio station, they are told they won't actually get paid, but that the best of the bunch will be given permanent employment in the autumn.

The usual things take place--one girl is pressured to give her story to another employee who has more seniority, an employee spits in the boss's coffee, and the shapely blonde with the seductive wiggle predictably becomes the boss's new 'assistant.' There's even a group idiot who makes his appearance in the first scene, and his role is horribly overdone.

In order to cope with the frustrations of their jobs, the interns gather at night and party in various clubs. This is all rather dull stuff that's been done with more creativity many, many times before. While the film tries to render the horrors of employment with a comic touch, this often misfires and results in only superficial treatment of the subject. Ultimately, the characters and their activities (vomiting included) are not particularly funny. "Diario de una Pasante" is directed by Josecho San Mateo and is in Spanish with English subtitles--displacedhuman
