American Pie Trilogy.......2007-04-07
I love the movies that's why I ordered the collection. Came in good time and in good condition.
Funny DVD for teens.......2007-02-26
This is a very funny series of movies. Not appropriate for younger kids, early teens and up it is hilarious!
the best 3 movie pack for comedy genre.......2006-09-21
All 3 movies are just as funny...I can't pick out my favorite...the commentaries are priceless also. Seann William Scott's (Stifler's) commentary is hilarious. All three are classics and should be owned by any fan of comedies.
Hilarious.......2006-08-10
This compilation of all 3 original American Pie's is a hilarious action pack. Anyone who is fond of comedy I recommend this product.
The only teen comedy that matters forget the rest........2006-05-24
I'm not a fan of the teen comedy genre and yet I realy liked these films cause there absolutely hilarious especially when it comes to Stifler (Sean William Scott), Jim (Jason Biggs) and Jim's dad (Eugene Levy) those three are the funniest characters in my opinion. Yes the humor is very crude but what else do you expect from a dumb teen sex comedy, all the films are dumb but also have some very funny and witty scenes in them and they're very enjoyable. The first American pie film is about Jim and his highschool friends who make a promise that each one is going to lose there virginity by the end of their highschool year but then fail and end up doing some ridicoulos and very silly things to each other.
The second film which is my favorite has the same gang back together after a year from college, they decide to have a beach party at one of the guys summer house and Nadya the exchange student is back so Jim trys to get back with her and have sex with her finaly but he still has feelings for Michelle (Alyson Hannigon) who is a band geek and some hilarity ensues including the superglue scene which is the funniest thing I have ever seen. The third film is the weakest film in the series and not for the few missing cast members but because it just wasn't funny enough, Jim is all grown up and has asked Michelle his highschool sweetheart to marry him but when he plans for the wedding it seems like whole thing turns into one big disaster after another. Overall I would say that this boxset is a great addition to your comedy collection and two thumbs up!.

Kudos to the home-video exec who came up with the "Presents..." prefix to keep a movie franchise going, even though it has almost no relation to the entries that came before. This is number five in the series that started with American Pie, an unexpected hit of a teen sex romp that kept the box office and DVD grosses (not to mention gross-outs) coming. The last entry, American Pie Presents: Band Camp, was the first non-theatrical release, which gave the filmmakers more "anything goes" freedom in the "unrated" department than ever. The Naked Mile kicks it up another notch with more gratuitous female nudity, bodily fluid flinging, and sexual overtones than anyone thought could be topped. Pubescent boys and those with minds forever stuck in that dimension, get ready to ogle babes and roar at puerile humor like you never have before. The only American Pie connections are in the form of the Stifler family, filled with a never-ending string of sex-crazed high school and college boys, and Eugene Levy as family friend Mr. Levenstein, who pops in for a (presumably) hefty paycheck and a couple of lines of sexual wisdom about the connection between promiscuity and growing up. Our hero, Erik Stifler, is on a weekend vacation at the local college where his cousin knows all the hot babes. He's in possession of a "free pass" from his virginal girlfriend to lose his own virginity. His visit just happens to coincide with the college's traditional Naked Mile run, an excuse to fill the screen with raw young flesh and stupid drunken frat kids engaging in silly sexual deviance that some people may find funny. And let's face it, if they're going to find the nudity and sordid sex play offensive, they're not going to have this DVD in their hands. All ends as it should: Erik finds true sex--ahem, love--with his girlfriend and everyone else finds it with whoever is handy. Mostly importantly, the cycle is left open with everything ripe for another sure-to-be classic in the American Pie Presents series. --Ted Fry

Customer Reviews:
Naked Mile was a pretty good marathon.......2007-05-01
I saw Band Camp a while back, and was extremely disappointed. It was just lame lame lame. When this one came out, I thought I would give it a try just because it couldn't get much worse than Band Camp. I was pleasently surprised that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and is actually pretty good.
Once again we meet a Stiffler. This Stiffler is a somewhat awkward one, not living up to his family reputation of obnoxious and deviant behavior. He is looking to live up to his family name, and when he is given a weekend pass by his girlfriend, he and his equally awkward buddies (in reminiscence of the original Pie triology) go off for a weekend at his cousin Stiffler's college. The hilarity ensues, as they are going to take part in the Naked Mile streaking, binge drinking, and all the other accoutraments of college life.
Why not 5 stars? They played on some pretty obvious things, like the midget football, the underwear party, and the girls with weird fetishes. And didn't you know from the beginning that college Stiffler would bang his rival's girlfriend even though she was a midget? The good Stiffler realizes that he doesn't want to run wild, he just wants to be with his girlfriend at home. And at long last they get together. A little predictable, but still a pretty good time.
American Pie: The New Lampoon.......2007-04-15
Is it just me or is American Pie becoming another National Lampoon type thing where they just create a bunch of weak, strait to DVD movies that are trying to sale based on the American Pie franchize name? About as lame as the Dukes of Hazzard sequal, Dumb & Dumberer, and the numerous Disney movies comin' out with strait to DVD release sequals to movies made like 50 years ago.
I actually thought it was sweet.......2007-03-04
Not in that way sweet, of course. the fact that he rode a horse to her and stayed together and wont let sex come in between them. I actually want a boyfriend like that. Good movie. Eventhough it has strong sexual content in it, people ages from 14-18 would enjoy it and get the part of the story better.
Yes... I Watched This, But If You Repeat That I'll Deny It.......2007-02-22
I secretly watched this movie because... ahem, I am familiar with the Naked Mile and despite my preference for film making as an art, I do enjoy a bad gross-out comedy once in a while.
The plot of this film revolves around familiar themes that are prevalent throughout the American Pie franchise: the desire of an adolescent protagonist to lose his virginity before graduation, squeamishly embarrassing situations, wild partying, alumni who are sexual/party legends, and outlandish scatological humor. 'American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile' continues to raise the bar on gross-out gags involving urination, vomiting, diarrhea, farting, and ejaculate. It also contains the highest amount of nudity and penis jokes seen thus far in the series. For all its crude depictions of promiscuous sexuality, alcohol and recreational drug use, and other hedonistic debauchery, it also features a plot line which concludes in a characteristically sweet manner.
Don't get me wrong. It's a really horrible movie that will never win any awards. There are times when the plot literally grinds to a stop so that they can show gratuitous sequences of partying and flesh. But for what it is: junk food movies, well, how can you criticize that? It's delicious, terribly bad for you, and irresistible.
Not as good as 1-3, but definitely better than 4.......2007-02-18
Although it doesn't live up to most of its predecessors, American Pie 5: The Naked Mile, is still a pretty good comedy. The big stars from the trilogy are overall absent as the movie focuses on Steve Stifler's little cousin Eric. Being something of the black sheep of the family for being a senior in high school and still a virgin, Eric gets a guilt-free weekend pass from his girlfriend to visit a college campus for the legendary Naked Mile...
The movie, though not a masterpiece, is quite funny and it is guaranteed to provide more than a just a few laughs. The casting is pretty good, but it's just too bad that most of the original characters are missing. An appearance by Seann William Scott would have been great!
The setting, the dialogues, the music and the humor, are overall good.
As for the film's highlight, it has to be the girls! Jessy Schram and Candace Kroslak to name a few were simply AMAZING!!!
Overall, it is a movie worth watching, and even though quite silly at times, it will surely put you in a good mood!

To the horror of prudes everywhere, American Pie 2 is even funnier than its popular predecessor, pushing the R rating with such unabashed ribaldry that you'll either be appalled or surprised by its defiant celebration of the young-adult male libido. Females will be equally shocked or delighted, because like American Pie this appealing, character-based comedy puts the women in control while offering a front-row view of horny guys in all their dubious glory. Which is to say, American Pie is mostly about sex--or, to be more specific, breasts, genitalia, "potential" lesbianism, blue silicone sex toys, crude methods of seduction, "the rule of three" (just watch the movie), a shower of "champagne," phone sex, tantric sex, and, oh yeah... superglue.
In the case of college freshman Jim (Jason Biggs), performance anxiety plagues his upcoming reunion with sexy Czech exchange student Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth), but his buddies from American Pie have a solution: rent a Lake Michigan beach house for the summer, throw wild parties to lure the local "hotties," and score big-time. Beach Party this ain't: blessed with a complete cast reunion from AP1 (including Eugene Levy as Jim's dad), this sequel is anything but innocent, and with the exception of drugs (which are conspicuously absent), pretty much anything goes. The gags are almost nonstop, and director J.B. Rogers (recovering from his debut debacle Say It Isn't So) handles them with laudable precision, allowing his young cast (particularly Biggs, who epitomizes comedic good sportsmanship) to run with lines that most people wouldn't dare utter aloud. The result is a liberating and eminently good-natured comedy that needn't apologize for its one-track mind. --Jeff Shannon
Customer Reviews:
Better than the first!.......2007-02-21
American Pie 2 was definately funnier than the first. Good soundtrack and plotline too. A highly entertaining, laugh-out loud teen comedy.
OMG...LMBO.......2006-11-16
Any time you need a good "That SO disgusting(!)" laugh, break out this movie. This movie will keep you laughing.
So Stupid it is so funny.......2006-10-17
Sometimes I just need a really stupid movie for the laugh factor. This movie is valuble for that. It does have a plot. It is not one the religious sect would like because it is packed full of sex and sex references. So this is not for you. If you just want a laugh this is good. The first one is good too. I am not a teen perhaps if I was one I would think this is a classic of my time, but no I am from the breakfast club generation. this was just a good laugh.
As if High School wasn't enough!.......2006-08-12
Following american Pie,American Pie 2 finds Jim and his friends going to a Lake house for the summer for partying, women, and alcohol. But when Jim finds that Nadia is coming down to visit,he panics and seeks help from the one person he knows can tell him if he sucked or not:the band geek who went to the prom with him.Stifler also returns, loud and obnoxious as ever as he accuses the two women living in the house they are painting to be lesbians,so they sneak in and....BUSTED!As if the Nadia broadcast wasn't enough, another broadcast is made, this time on a CB radio,in one of the most ridiculous contests I've ever seen.American Pie 2 is even more hillarious than the first, including incidents with super glue and trumpets. You'll enjoy this film.
Good sequel.......2006-08-05
American Pie 2's story line was good. The story picks up after the first year of college. Like many have encountered after the first summer after college many new things occur and many things that do not change. The beach house is the scene for wild scenes and good laughs. What AM2 does do that many other sequels do as well is the repetitive bug. The shock/funny appeal is still there in some scenes, but it isn't like the original. Still, though the movie is entertaining enough and with several gut wrenching scenes.

A spin-off rather than a sequel, Band Camp is the fourth entry in the American Pie franchise, but the first without the original cast. Instead a new trash-talking teen takes the lead. His name is Matt (Tad Hilgenbrinck) and he's Steve Stifler's younger brother (and despite the dark hair, Hilgenbrinck does resemble Seann William Scott--without the impish charm). There's nothing the football playing party boy hates more than bandies, the geeky members of the high school band. After he gets caught "punking" his favorite victims, he's sent to the guidance counselor, a redheaded gent known as the Sherminator (Chris Owen), who recommends band camp as penance. Since Steve has moved on to become a Girls Gone Wild impresario, Matt decides he'll make his own R-rated opus, "Bandies Gone Wild." This means spying on the well endowed camp counselors and other unwitting campers while they're showering, sunbathing, etc. When the not-so-bright triangle player gets caught yet again, his new friends abandon him, leading Stiffmeister Jr. to believe he just may have gone too far. Band Camp, which was released straight to DVD, plays more like Porky's than American Pie, and features Eugene Levy as Mr. Levenstein, AKA "Jim's Dad," the camp's conflict resolution officer and ex-porn star Ginger Lynn Allen as the camp nurse. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Customer Reviews:
Nothing like the others.......2007-05-14
I tried a couple of times to watch this, but I just never got though the whole movie...it was too dumb. Maybe it is meant for young kids that don't care about stupid acts. It is nothing like the others.
Video for IAG.......2007-02-26
My son LOVES this trilogy! It is extremely funny (totaly inappropriate, but very funny)! We enjoyed them!
Root for the Bad Guy.......2007-01-12
Although based on characters from American Pie, Eugene Levy is the only true common factor between this and the American Pie movies. Stiffler's younger brother, who in no way seems to be a grown-up version of the kid we saw in American Pie 2, has been sentenced to Band Camp after playing a public practical joke on the school band. Unlike in the American Pie movies, the lead is not the good guy. Stiffler decides to use spy equipment to film the girls of band camp and try and outdo his older brother's video business.
Once at camp he meets Levy who is the camp's moral director (not morale). Stiffler obviously does not want to be at the camp but he revels in the spying. Soon he learns he can get further by pretending to befriend everyone. Everything is movie toward a competition between the camp's bands and a possible love interest between Stiffler and his band leader. Well, the film tries to get you to like Stiffler but he is a real jerk for almost the entire film.
If you like the American Pie movies for the raciness, sexuality or nudity, then you will probably like this one. If, however, you like all the features of American Pie that are not common to teen sex comedies, you won't find them here. I had expected better from anything that had the American Pie label but it seems the franchise sold out with this one. The best thing about the film was an extra involving a sexual education video using fruit instead of anatomy. Otherwise it was pretty standard fare.
Not quite the same as American Pie.......2007-01-04
We keep getting further from the real movie, especially on this one. Still funny, but just not the same. Miss the real cast.
Better than expected.......2006-12-22
As a big American Pie fan, I rented this DVD from Netflix expecting the worst. I have to say it was definately worth the rental for a few laughs and was better than expected. If you like gross, amateurish humor along the lines of American Pie and other teen movies, you'll like it. It's not up to the quality of the other REAL American Pie movies but it's far from the worst. But I admit it, I like most teen movies. Matt Stiffler's character is funny and gross, Elyse is HOT, and you get a bonus Eugene Levy and the SHERMINATOR. Any American Pie fan will enjoy this.

Fennessy

Anyone who's watched just about any teenage film knows that the greatest evil in this world isn't chemical warfare, ethnic cleansing, or even the nuclear bomb. The worst crime known to man? Why, virginity, of course. As we've learned from countless films--from Summer of '42 to Risky Business--virginity is a criminal burden that one must shed oneself of as quickly as possible. And while many of these films have given the topic a bad name, American Pie quietly sweeps in and gives sex some of its dignity back. Dignity, you may say? How can a film that highlights intercourse with fruit pies, premature ejaculation broadcasted across the Internet, and the gratuitous "gross-out" shots restore the dignity of a genre that's been encumbered with such heavyweights as Porky's and Losin' It? The plot may be typical, with four high school friends swearing to "score" by prom, yet the film rises above the muck with its superior cast, successful and sweet humor, and some actually rather retro values about the meaning and importance of sex. Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, and Eddie Kaye Thomas make up the odd quartet of pals determined to woo, lie, and beg their way to manhood. The young women they pursue are wary girlfriend Vicky (Tara Reid), choir girl Heather (Mena Suvari), band geek Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), and just about any other female who is willing and able. Natasha Lyonne as Jessica, playing a similar role as in Slums of Beverly Hills, is the general adviser to the crowd (when Vicky tells her "I want it to be the right time, the right place," Jessica responds, "It's not a space shuttle launch, it's sex"). The comedic timing hits the mark--especially in the deliberately awkward scenes between Jim (Biggs) and his father (Eugene Levy). And, of course, lessons are learned in this genuinely funny film, which will probably please the adult crowd even more than it will the teenage one. --Jenny Brown

American Pie.......2007-03-17
Well I had all the other movies, but this makes my collection complete. This is the kind of movie you can watch over and over again and it never gets boring.
Just so over-rated.......2007-02-23
This may be one of the most over-rated movies of the last 20 years. It is typical mindless skirt chasing by high school boys. How many times will this premise be used before people stop watching it?? Please god stop.
Thank you
so stupid it is funny.......2006-10-17
There are good movies and then there are movies like these that are just worth the price for the laugh factor. Yeah it does have a plot a pretty stupid one, but it is so funny. The second one is really funny too. are you trying not to watch things with sex in them or not your kids well do not watch this. this is full of sex references and inuendo. It is really funny and worth the laugh if you are like me and just are not offended.
A pleasant teenage romp!.......2006-08-08
American Pie is a favorite for those of you who like hillarious teenage movies.Jason Biggs plays Jim,an average American teen opening new worlds in his sex life. From encounters with pies to embarrasing moments with other teenage girls,American Pie is a definite favorite.Sean William Scott is wonderfull as Scott Stifler. You'll love it!
Surprisingly touching for its genre.......2006-07-22
For a teen comedy flick with potty humour and "showcase" nudity, American Pie does really well with some coming of age themes. Four boys are on a quest to lose their virginity by prom night, and go to various lengths to impress the girls they meet. Life lessons are learned and the boys grow up in ways other than sexually. The four boys led by Jason Biggs are all likeable, and Seann William Scott had a breakout role as the party-loving fifth wheel to the group. Eugene Levy, one of great comedic alumnis from the 80s, has hilarious moments as Jim's dad. And for who can forget the Shannon Elizabeth scene and the bit with the movie's namesake?
Not a lot on the dvd, but there's a fun commentary with the staff and actors, though it's a bit crowded at times. American Pie's not a groundbreaking film, but it's a solid one for its genre, and may be one of the few really worth owning.

Description
Set in New York City over the course of one eventful year, American Adobo, is a heart-warming comedy about five Filipino-American friends conflicted with their life choices and destinies, as they party away - sharing laughs, secrets, recipes, and lovers. Mike is a news editor in his early 40s who cannot reconcile the shallowness of his material existence with his activist past. Marissa is a beautiful but vain socialite who falls victim to her boyfriend's sexual indiscretions. Marissa's cousin Raul has all the charm and aggression of a Don Juan and seems to have a date not just with gorgeous women but also with destiny itself. Gerry is a closeted homosexual who bears the brunt of the struggle between his Roman Catholic mother and his HIV-positive lover. Finally, there's Tere, an accountant in her mid-forties and still single, insecure about herself and her chances of finding love. American Adobo is a delicious treat for anyone with a family and a dream for the future. Together, these friends weave a uniquely American story about what it means to be an immigrant in a land where it seems everyone is searching for an identity.
Customer Reviews:
Horrible.......2006-12-02
I saw this in the movie theater with friends and I do not recommend this movie to anyone. The acting is wooden and an embarrassment to Filipinos. None of the characters are fleshed out to a point where the audience cares. The most cringe inducing scene is when Christopher de Leon makes everyone say: "I'm mad as hell and I can't take it anymore." The dialogue and story ramble with no particular place to go.
This movie (and like most Filipino movies) are throwbacks to the way Filipino movies were made during the 1970's. Unlike other countries of the Southeast Asian community, the Filipino movie making industry has stagnated and refused to move forward. In all movie making disciplines (direction, cinematography, art direction, lighting)...all amateurish.
Finally, as a Filipino-American, this in no way reflects my life and the lives of any one I know. If I could give this a 0 star, I would.
Great buy!.......2006-07-25
Quick shipment and item was as described. Thanks very much for an easy transaction!
I love it!!!.......2005-02-28
American Adobo is so funny, I love it. As a filipina-american, I can relate to this movie, in so many different ways. It has some tagolog, with sub-titles, but all in all, it is a great filipino experience!
Too melodramatic.......2004-05-10
The movie, American Adobo, started off very nicely and the engaging character buildups were encouraging. The actors seem very relaxed and they all seemed to handle their craft very well. However, as the plot starts to turn into the conflict phase, the movie instantly dives into some tearful, very-"Filipino"-like, melodramatic excursion. Ironically, during the movie, Christopher De Leon's daughter, while being reprimanded, reminded him not to turn their conversation into some "Filipino"-movie variety. The director should have also taken heed.
I have seen many Filipino movies (being a Filipino myself) and while the professional presentation (probably due to its international release) was noteworthy, the same components of most Filipino dramas was alive and unfortunately rooted in too much emphasis on the tearjerker approach, and add to that some untimely political and socio-religious moralities. This kind of annoying manipulation sends wrong messages and somehow promotes agendas that were totally not needed in the movie.
Chistopher De Leon gave a somewhat commendable performance but the rest of the cast seem too rigid and too mechanical. Paolo Montalban was thrown in the cast to warrant the movie's parental guidance viewing and his character seemed superficially unexplored beyond his dealings with the afterthoughts of possibly contacting AIDS. Cherry Pie Picache typifies the overtly emotional and over-acting 'masochist'. Her character (and Ricky's) were the central figures but she leaves us with an unsatisfied feeling, probably due to her uneven and 'pitiful' performance. Dina Bonnevie's relationship almost seemed a distraction since her dealings with infidelities bordered on the common day-to-day and her acting needs work and polishing. Ricky Davao's tale was intriguing but the movie seemed to revolve too much around the homosexuality and AIDs issue that we are tied too much to his personal demons without knowing his real character. Gloria Romero's emotional outbursts, while heartfelt, was a bit strained and too 'sentimentally-syrupy'.
The best part of the movie was when Christoper De Leon and Ricky Davao were driving and talking. Unfortunately, there were not more of this - there were too many trite conversations, unneeded banterings, and unrealistic discussions. Why can't they just talk like normal people instead of trying so hard to impress us with their over-the-top chit-chat.
A couple of haunting shots were the two scenes with the Twin Towers in the background - one scene with Cherry Pie and Dina talking, and the other scene right at the end of the movie, which shows the new restaurant and the towers. I expected a lot from this movie and I felt it was dissapointing and 'bland' to say the least.
Great movie.......2003-12-24
This is one of the first Filipino American movies that was in the theatre and is now available on DVD. Considering many limitations (i.e. budget) this is a great movie, especially for Filipino Americans who will really be able to relate to it. The best part of the movie is that the people starring in it are not white and are more realistic than the Hollywood actors and actresses we usually see in movies. This movie is also totally hilarious.
