Here's the actual back cover text and track listing:

In January 1992 Simply Red set off on tour. They had just released their 4th album "Stars." In the 14 months that followed, they played 131 shows to 1.5 million people and sold 9 million albums around the world.

This extraordinary film captures Simply Red in concert in Hamburg at the peak of their success on this sell-out tour. It features songs ranging from the band's early hits "Holding Back the Years" and "Money's Too Tight (To Mention)" to "Thrill Me," "For Your Babies," and "Something Got Me Started" from the "Stars" album.

With 9 new songs not included on the original video version, and newly remastered to high-definition and 5.1 surround sound for DVD release, it also includes exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews with the band's singer, songwriter, and driving force, Mick Hucknall, further interviews with band members and with other key collaborators shed light on the enduring popularity of one of the world's most successful groups.

Now I have reviewed and attended numerous live concerts, and this one, I consider it just a masterpiece. First of all, eventhough this concert took place in 1992 in Hamburg, Germany, this new special edition DVD was released in 2005, utilizing High-Definition wide-screen transfer, as well as remastered Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound, with multiple camera editing. Fine. But what about the performance? A masterpiece. The original band members were at their peak, as well as band leader Mick Hucknall. The stage presence and musicianship is just superb. This show performance is much better than the "Live in London" DVD, and just as lively and outstanding as the "Live in Sicily" DVD. I enjoy live performances and this DVD does it all. It will make your Home Theater system outshine and clearly demostrate that Simply Red crosses all boundaries and feelings with enduring musicianship. As you can tell, it is highly recommended!

3 out of 5 stars Enjoyable concert, but the transfer should have been better........2007-05-28

I have enjoyed the laserdisc version of this concert for many years and really looked forward to the DVD. The video consists of 20 songs, runs 1 hr 18 min, and shows Julio, his beautiful backup singers, and his band in their element, performing at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. The music is full of romantic energy, and the visual presentation is lush and colorful. All of this was captured beautifully on the laserdisc version, but the DVD falls short in both the audio and video domains. The DVD's audio is over-equalized, with bass that sounds especially boomy, and the video lacks the richly saturated colors rendered by the laserdisc, at times appearing almost black-and-white in some of the darker scenes. Whereas this all-region DVD was apparently produced in South Korea, it is curious that the music lyrics are available as English subtitles (that can be switched off) but the biography section is rendered only in Korean! Go figure. Don't misunderstand - the concert is terrific and the DVD is enjoyable. But if you have had the opportunity to enjoy the laserdisc version, you will be disappointed by the DVD.

    2 out of 5 stars It's Not The Worst I've Ever Seen..........2005-01-06

Van Gogh wearing eyeliner, and delivering some of the worst movie lines ever in an accent that ocillates between an obscure Transylvanian dialect and slurred Irish. Good Times. Not the worst movie I've ever seen, but certainly one of the most ridiculous.

    5 out of 5 stars STARRY NIGHT.......2003-10-18

STARRY NIGHT is amazingly magical. It resonated to the artist in all of us who have struggled with art all of our lives and have not been recognized in our lifetimes. It gives hope. Abbott Alexander's fanciful portrayal of Vincent is wonderful -- you can't keep your eyes off of him. He is intensely charismatic. I bought many copies to send to family back home -- as this is a must see for all families to watch together -- and there are not many films out there like that.

5 out of 5 stars Light and fun. Gives a bit of sunshine to the way people...........2003-01-06

Light and fun. Gives a bit of sunshine to the way people invision Vincent van Gogh. I think that if you see this movie with knowing that is fantasy and a kind of what if story line...
Then en you will smile and feel got at the end.

    4 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Light Movie/VVG Returns...to LA!.......2002-12-03

I've seen all the "serious" Van Gogh movies extant as he is one of my very favorite painters. It would be silly to try and compare this movie to any of them as it has a very different aim. This is a very whimsical fairy tale based on the idea of what would happen if Vincent came back. What would he think of the prices that his art now goes for? What would he think of the buyers of his work? Would he ally himself with starving artists needing the help he needed in his own lifetime? I found these very provocative questions and the movie examines how Vincent would answer those questions if he had 100 days to live again in modern day LA. Don McLean sings his ode to Vincent over the credits and that is very nice too. I'm sure this was shot on a shoestring budget but that adds to its rather offbeat charm. I'm an artist and that may have influenced my liking of this film. An art collector might not like this film much though as Vincent does not think much of them (which is fairly consistent with his view in his own time). If you have Van Gogh high up on a pedestal, I would advise you to skip this movie. There is nothing exalted about this movie at all and that's why I liked it.

4 out of 5 stars Accept the Corny-ness! This movie has heart!.......2002-11-03

This movie is really fun as long as you go into it with the right attitude. The sets are cheap, there are some continuity problems, and the acting is really, really strange. It's sort of like something you'd expect from a PBS-produced soap-opera documentary. Some would call it bad--and I would agree if it was confined to one cast member--but it seems like the whole cast is in on the joke, and once you accept it, the movie is really quite interesting. Don't expect your life to be changed, or your sense of aesthetics to be redefined, but settle down to enjoy a whimsical little movie with a really unique tone.

5 out of 5 stars Some of the best songs of all .......2007-04-13

Don MacLean has written some of the best popular music ever. His 'And I love you so' and 'American Pie' are among the most well- known. I have a special appreciation for his 'Starry Starry Nights' appreciation of the life and work of Van Gogh. MacLean has visited in Israel and has an appreciation of the country .This is reflected in his great song "By the waters of Babylon" and "Jerusalem".
His intelligence his lyricism his sensitivity and his lyricism make for
    great musical performance.

    4 out of 5 stars Tuned in.......2002-01-22

I saw this video on PBS 2 years ago, but all that was available was the VHS. I'm a child of the 60's and a mother of the 70's and my kids grew up knowing that "American Pie" was their Dad's and my song. They think we're weird. Perhaps we are. Who cares?
They know all the lyrics to many of Don's songs by heart, so I guess we did something right. I have looked everywhere for a DVD of this concert and the only place I could find it was Amazon! Thank you!

    3 out of 5 stars Only 70+ minutes, Stereo 2 channel.......2001-11-13

I pre-ordered this DVD before it is released, and did not have any information i.e. length of concert, audio format (dts, Dolby 5.1 or Dolby 2 ch) when I ordered it. When I received it, I played it at once with great expectation. However, I was somewhat disappointed to note that only about 16 songs were included in the DVD (as compared with 24 songs in the CD set). Moreover, the aduio is only 2 channel that sounds a bit inferior with my 5.1 channel AV system. The most valuable part of this DVD, indeed, is the footages of 3 previous concerts with Don at his peak. But one of them is of rather poor sound & picture quality. Neverthless, this DVD is worth buying for Don's friend as it is the only Don's DVD available in market.

2 out of 5 stars What Happened to the rest of the show?.......2001-10-23

When I purchased this DVD, I already owned the CD of the same name. But somehow, despite the great video capacity of the DVD, some suits somwhere decided to only include about 60% of the performances as seen on the original PBS special. Yes, the big hits are there, but many great songs, including Dons opening Buddy Holly cover are sadly missing. The greatest travesty though is the quality of the audio. The CD pressing has great audio, but somehow this DVD issue is lacking fidelity and definition to the point where I swear it's in mono! There is one redeeming feature in the special features portion of the DVD,where Don is shown in vintage performances from the 70's, 80's and 90's. The 70's portion features 3 songs shot probably on 16mm when Don was at his peak as a forcefull singer with passion, not the crooner he has become. If you are a die-hard fan, you're gonna have to have it. But if you are a casual fan, just bear in mind you're paying a premium for some old, vintage footage, because the PBS concert portion of this DVD is not worth having.
