Product Description
Innovative filmmaker, Spike Lee (She's Gotta Have It), brings to the screen a music-filled, offbeat contemporary comedy that takes an unforgettable look at black college life. Amidst gala coronations, football, fraternities, parades and parties, the stars of the film-Laurence Fishburne ("Dap" Dunlap), an intense student who encourages his buddies ("DaFellas") to fight for his beliefs; Giancarlo Esposito (Julian "Big Brother Almighty" Eaves), out to strengthen the Greek system with his Gamma Phi Gamma fraternity brothers; Spike Lee ("Half-Pint"), driven to become a "Gamma man"; and Tisha Campbell (Jane Toussaint), leader of the sorority, "Gamma Rays," find themselves caught up in romance and relationships/rituals and rivalries during one outrageous homecoming weekend. With dynamic music, including EU's hit "Da Butt", and dance numbers choreographed by Otis Sallid (Fame), Lee successfully challenges viewpoints about self-identity and self-esteem in this original, contemporary musical comedy.

Spike Lee's follow-up to his unlikely hit She's Gotta Have It was this ambitious--some would say too ambitious--attempt at a musical about college life. But Lee, ever the provocateur, doesn't settle for a simple college comedy. Rather, he wants to make a point about the social divisions within all-black colleges: between the socializers and the socially conscious, and between light and dark-skinned blacks. Laurence Fishburne plays a politically aware student trying to bring his fellow students together; Giancarlo Esposito plays the fraternity boss who constantly seeks to insert a wedge between the haves and have-nots. Lee himself plays a pawn in the middle, a would-be frat boy undergoing a wicked Hell Week as a pledge. The story doesn't pull together and the musical numbers--more spoof than anything else--only serve to fragment it. While it offers interesting points, it never does so in a particularly cohesive way. --Marshall Fine

This is Spike's magnus opus. Over the top? Sure...Heavy handed? You bet...Preachy? Of course...none of that changes the fact that Spike makes a powerful statement about the continuing conflict Africans in America have with each other. 'Bamboozled' is a close second...'Do the Right Thing' rounds out the top 3. Love him or hate him, Spike leaves you with something relevant to ponder...isn't that what art is supposed to do?
A BLAST FROM THE PAST!.......2007-05-14
I love this movie. Everytime I watch it, it brings back memories of my college days. Having attended a Historically Black College during the 80's, the movie depicted the realities of our campus life. I laugh, I cry, I reflect on days gone by. Thank you Spike Lee... YO!
Another Great Spike Joint.......2007-04-10
This is Spike Lee's second full length movie. It isn't My favorite but it is still a great movie for anyone that wants to get a small notion of what black college life is/was like. I recommend this movie for all spike lee fans or just fans of a good movie with a great message.
One of my favorite films of all time!!!.......2007-02-09
This is an excellent film. A lot of the topics that were discussed in this film still happen at HBCU's!!!! As a matter of fact, the issue of lightskinned vs. darkskinned is still going on today, on a college campus or not. Spike Lee to me is one of the best film directors of all time. He is not afraid to tackle issues that are in the African American community. I highly recommend this film. If you haven't seen it, get the DVD. It's a classic.

These episodes opened the second season of this popular series: there's a new title sequence and the "Leave It to Kero" feature has been eliminated. Sakura enters the fifth grade and discovers her teacher is Ms. Mizuki, who seems to possess supernatural powers related to the magical Clow Cards. Is she the mysterious woman in Sakura's recurring dream? Sakura works closely with Shaoran Li to subdue the Snow, Voice, Lock, and Cloud Cards, and the two characters seem to be drawing closer, despite Sakura's crush on Yukito. In "Dizzy Fever Day," the spirit of Sakura's dead mother appears to watch over her. Toya, who usually teases his sister mercilessly, shows a gentler side of his nature when he takes care of her--and reveals that he knows more about the magical goings-on than anyone had suspected. Rated 13 Up, but appropriate for children three to four years younger. --Charles Solomon
Description

Not an easy task whe n she's home sick with a high fever, but without Sakura, how can the Cloud Card be capture d?
Customer Reviews:
MY FAVORITE EPISODES!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-08-09
These episodes are very awesome!
36# Sakura and the Snowy new school term
Sakura got a gift from Yukito which makes her very happy, however when the snow card comes she looses it but at the end she gets it back.
37# Sakura and Tomoyo's Lost Voice
MY MOST FAVORITE EPISODE!!!! Out of all 70 this one touched my heart!!! Tomoyo is entering the school chior, but a problem hit Her voice is gone! Kero tells Sakura taht the VOICE card stole it. Sakura goes to visit Tomoyo and she tells Tomoyo that she'll find a way to get Tomoyo's voice back. Sakura uses the song card and she gets Tomoyo's voice back. I was sitting there watching and I was truly crying! It was so upsetting yet it was so happy at the end.
38# Sakura's Fun Starwberry picking journey.
Sakura, Tomoyo and the rest of the classmates are going Strawberry picking, however Sakura, Tomoy, Meilin and Shaoran get locked in a buidling. It's the LOCK card. Sakura must use the Clow key to get out.
39# Sakura's Dizzy Fever day
Sakura wakes up feeling horrible with a fever, however the Cloud card is on the loose. If she doesn't seal it away the sity will be put in clouds!
There all VERY good. The Tomoyo\Voice one is the best though. It's SOOO Touching!!!! Buy it! It's worth your money!!!!
season 2 takes off fast.......2004-02-22
As usually Sakura gets her cards but there are some new things at the beginning of season two. First, her brother is shown to care more about her and to be aware that something is different about her. Second, Sharaon and Melin are starting to help Sakura not just compete with her. Finally Yukito is showing some more than big-brother's-friend interest. Remember this is another culture so if you find love interests between age group inappropriate, don't get this series. Its also just interest -- nothing physical happens at all.
Catch Me Catch Me Matte.......2003-07-19
I began watching Cardcaptor Sakura dubbed in the American Language with a different title "Cardacptors". However, my interest in the animated series grew quickly so I began to order the original versions. I now speak another language...Thanks to subtitles on the DVD and my high interest in the cartoon! Order the DVDs or VHS and you will enjoy a great characters and learn at the same time!
REJOICE!!!.......2002-12-20
"WOW" is the only word I can use to discribe this. It is my very first DVD of CCS (yes I'm a long time fan of the dub, which is my point). I've been watching a butchered series and acctually liking it! I now see what the true story line is about.
SNOW, VOICE, LOCK, and CLOUD are the cards highlighted on this DVD. VOICE and LOCK are not in the dub, why? don't ask me. Anyway this is worth the money if you ask me. If you'd prefer the charactors speaking in your oun language, nothing is stopping you from buying the dub, but if you want to see some REAL anime, I'm begging you, BUY THE SUB!!!
Simply wonderful!.......2002-08-25
Yet another wonderful volume! I love the episodes in this one. I LOVE them! Along with the catchy new theme song, the animation is great and so is the subtitling!
Sakura starts a new school year with a new teacher...hmmmm, wonder who...then Tomoyo loses her voice right before her competion! Time to go strawberry pickin' with...hey! How'd Yukito get here?! Then Sakura's sick! But what about the Clow Card...
I am seriously adicted to this series. I have been collecting these for a while and I'm delighted to relize each new episode is better than the last one. You can just sence the tension rising between Shaoran and Sakura...A great show exploding with cuteness! (Of course, I like cuteness but not everyone does...) Simply wonderful!

Customer Reviews:
Your kids will probably be bored.......2007-03-17
I realize that this batch of films is aimed at older teenagers and college kids, not adults over the age of 25. However, you can probably do much better picking out films your kids will watch than this collection. That's not to say that there aren't some great yet silly films in the batch, because there are. Next I describe each film in descending order of quality.
UHF (1989) - This is a great film starring Weird Al Yankovic as a directionless young man whose uncle gives him a rundown TV station to manage. His unconventional programming turns things around for himself and the station.
Cooley High (1975) - This is a great film for all ages, and was the basis for the sitcom "What's Happening", although it only faintly resembles it. It is set in south-side Chicago in the mid 60's, and concerns a group of high school friends that have numerous comic encounters, but there is also some tragedy involved in the plot.
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) - The first one was very funny and fresh, and Keanu Reeves will always be Ted as far as I'm concerned, even if he winds up doing Shakespeare at some point. The plot concerns two slackers who are about to fail history that are given some help from a time traveller from the future. The only problem is that it is so steeped in 80's pop culture that your kids may not get half the jokes.
Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991) - The second one is still funny, it just seems to try harder and not get quite the same comic effect as the first.
The rest of the movies are under the National Lampoon label.
Dorm Daze (2003) - One of National Lampoon's better college farce movies, with the plot set up by a series of silly misunderstandings. The closest thing you're going to get to "Animal House" 25 years after the fact.
Going the Distance (2004) - A Canadian version of Roadtrip. This movie was better than I expected, with a lot of good interaction between the main characters, but still not that great even for a teen farce.
Class Reunion (1982) - This movie had all the ingredients to be funny, but it just bored me, even in 1982. Top that off with all of the 80's and even 70's pop culture references, and I don't think it would do much for today's kids.
The last three movies are just awful - "Movie Madness", "Gold Diggers", and "Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj". I won't even bother to describe them. When I say they're bad, I'm saying they are boring and completely unfunny. If you force your kids to sit through these three films as part of their summer break, they'll be looking forward to going back to school.
The end result is you have three good to excellent films that are all older movies, four mediocre to OK films, and three horrible movies. I think you can do much better at entertaining your older teenagers/college kids than this collection.
