If you are looking for a clean funny movie without sex, violence, and cursing this is the right movie. It is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Very family orient and I recommend it to anyone.

Excellent family comedy! Don Knotts & Tim Conway are at their best!
Three orphaned siblings are forced upon confirmed bachelor Russel Donovan(Bixby) in a 19nth century boom town of Quake City, California. After an earthquake shakes the area, the children find a large gold nugget worth tens of thousands of dollars. But their newfound wealth is causing more problems than it's solving, so they decide to "give" the gold to 2 bumbling outlaws, Theodore & Amos (Knotts&Conway). But the only way they can get the gold is to steal it from the bank vault where it's being held for safekeeping.

Another Great Walt Disney Picture.......2007-02-01

When I do a movie review I base it on what I think of the movie and not anyone else. This picture was made back in 1975 and is another great Walt Disney picture. Bill Bixby plays the role of Russel Donovan, Tim Conway plays the role of Gangster Amos Tucker, Don Knotts plays the role of Gangster Theodore Ogelvie, and Harry Morgan plays the role of Sheriff Homer McCoy. Donovan comes to town looking for a poker game while on his way to New Orleans. Donovan is approach by an old friend and wants him to claim what's on the stage that belongs to him. Donovan agrees only to fine that he's reasonable for three little kids. According to the local sheriff Donovan has to attend to these three little kids. After an earthquake shakes the area, the children find a large gold nugget worth tens of thousands of dollars. But their newfound wealth is causing more problems than it's solving, so they agree to "give" the gold to two bumbling outlaws (Knotts & Conway). But they only way they can get the gold are to steal it from the bank vault where it's being held for safe keeping.

I love both Apple Dumpling Gang films. I can't wait to own both films. I'm waiting for the 2-Movie Collection of both movies on one DVD. When will the two movies come out on DVD? Please let people like me know. Thank you very much.

Veggietales - hysterically funny as usual!.......2007-04-14

You want my honest opinion? THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME!!! Even at [..], I still love VeggieTales - and its much more intelligent humor than other videos. Though the action is, well, about as action-filled as vegetables can get, the jokes are funny, the lesson is well-thought out, the story line is excellent, and the animation continues to get better and better! The first two Larryboy videos, were, well, kind of funny in parts (more the first than the second), but they weren't as well made - though they were very good at the time. This newest LarryBoy release, however, does tribute to the incredibly creative people at BigIdea! At any rate, I'm a big VeggieTales fan, who has nearly the whole collection, and, I must say, VeggieTales just keeps getting better and better, especially with this release. One of the best parts about all the VT videos is the fact that they're geared towards the whole family - in fact, some of the jokes are more geared towards teens and adults! However, the videos don't go over the kids' heads - what kid wouldn't love the beautifully done animation, the slapstick humor, or the great music - for that matter, what adult wouldn't?
My only complaint about the video is that the action scene at the end falls a little short of what they were aiming for - it was a little short, and the "urgency" of the situation escaped me. However, the animation is so well done in everything else (especially LarryBoy's much more realistically animated plungers - way cooler!), that one can't help but love this funny, engaging, well-done video!

. . . look at the subject of TEMPTATION from the perspective of Bumblyburg and everyone's favorite superhero LARRY BOY!!!

Larry Boy (previously seen in Larry Boy and the Fib from Outer Space and Larry Boy and the Rumor Weed) is back again, struggling to save his town (and himself) from the Bad Apple of temptation.

This is a story that young and old can relate to, and is an exciting addition to the VeggieTales canon. The Bad Apple is a delightfully conceived villain, and the moral of the story can be understood by all.

I hope that the creators of VeggieTales continue to make more "Larry Boy" adventures. My kids (ages 2-16) love 'em -- and so do I!

My 4 year old son's hero is this cucumber in a costume and he just can't get enough of him. The video is well done, the music is great and so is the story line. It's great to have such a positive series for little boys.

Larryboy and the Bad Apple is one of the new films released by Big Idea and I have to say it's very well done. They have all the right pieces in there for a good guy, bad guy story and the best part about this is Larryboy actually gets to do battle with the bad apple. If you like to watch vegetables crack jokes and fight villains, then this is the film for you!

Just viewed tape and I am very upset with its remastering or copying.Tape is choppy and shuts out most of the music in the movie .I also made the mistake of buying it in wide-screen. This is one of my favorite movies and I will now have to reorder it and count my losses with the price of the tape I have.

Bette Davis' portrayal of Apple Annie is pure magic!.......2007-03-19

Frank Capra's remake of his 1940 "Lady For A Day," is a mix of a Christmas story, Cinderella, and a 1920's gangster tale, all rolled into one! Bette Davis is excellent as a gin guzzling bag lady named Apple Annie, who has a daughter (named Louise and played sweetly by lovely Ann-Margaret) living in Spain, of whom she has never seen (except for an 8 X 10 photograph that Annie lovingly keeps in her room) since sending her there to be schooled. It isn't clear or even explained how the girl got to Spain or why that particular country was selected for Louise's schooling. Annie sends money to Louise, and collects much of it from her streetwise peddler friends, all of who she has named as Louise's Godparents. When Annie receives a letter from Louise, telling her she is bringing her fiancé' to meet her mother, Annie is devasted! Enter Mob boss "Dave the Dude" (Glenn Ford), his nightclub lady friend Queenie Martin (Hope Lange) and mob clown Peter Falk. Annie's peddler friends, along with Queenie, talk Dave into making Annie a lady of society. Dave pulls some strings and even gets Annie a penthouse suite! "Pocketful of Miracles" is a delightful story filled with sentiment, laughs, and magic! Watch as the gang transforms Annie from a street corner hag into a lady of high society. As mob member Junior delares when first seeing Annie's transformation, "She's like a cockroach what turned into a butterfly." Exactly! Hope Lange is great as Queenie Martin and Glenn Ford's "Dave the Dude" is excellent as the Mob Boss who believes Annie's apples are his key to good luck. This one belongs in every dvd collector's library of classic films, especially fans of Bette Davis and Hope Lange. It's truly special. The dvd transfer is flawless and the audio is good and clear. Dvd includes the movie trailer. This one is especially fun to watch during the Christmas holidays and will put you in the Holiday spirit!

Glenn Ford as a Soft-Hearted Gangster?.......2007-01-30

Ok, I'm not too sure Ford really nails his role, though he certainly tries his best.

But otherwise this is a heartwarming, enjoyable New York-during-the-holidays kind of film, with a stellar cast including Bette Davis in a signature role and a very funny Peter Falk as Ford's "primitive" sidekick.

This film has all of Capra's trademark moments, a wonderful Cinderella story enlivened by the setting and the great supporting characters. Though you could easily trim 20 or so minutes, this film is a treat that has gotten better with age.

Wonderful story line that's hard to watch without laughing. Great acting as Glenn Ford and Betty Davis try to pull off a great scam for the benefit of Davis' movie daughter. A great movie for the whole family.

Some nice stuff here--an FBI agent with a nagging toothache and a history professor wife who can't keep her mouth shut; another FBI agent with a serious thing for an informant's hot sister; a low-level mob boss whose nickname, "Buddah", shows his contemplative attitude (as long as he gets his money); and a mob soldier with a bright yellow/blond mane and a nasty streak expressing itself in chaining people up.

Not your run of the mill mob film--plus which there's some real comedy here, meaning SMART comedy--e.g., the driver of the FBI van mouths off to the toothache agent about marriage and pines for a candy bar.

This was an HBO telefilm directed by Adam Bernstein, who also did another smart, funny mob comedy crime film, Six Ways to Sunday. Both are definitely worth watching. Bad Apple's based on a novel by crime writer Anthony Bruno and stars Chris Noth as the FBI agent with the hots for the informant's sister; Eliot Gould as "Buddah"; Colm Meaney as the agent with the toothache; Mercedes Ruehl as his snappy wife; and Robert Patrick as the bright blond nasty hood.

The good guys go after the bad guys. Nothing new there, but the approach is so smart and snappy it's a truly refreshing change of pace. Definitely unconventional; definitely fun to watch. Thumbs up.

A whole lot of fun.......2006-07-26

I purchased this film knowing little to nothing about it. My impression was that Chris Noth either played a rotten character, or a character who goes bad through the course of the movie. I couldn't have been more wrong.

'Bad Apple' is a fun, enjoyable movie that doesn't take itself too seriously, and travels along at rollicking pace.

Chris Noth and Colm Meaney star in this movie as FBI agents who are working and busting members of the criminal underworld. Noth's character goes undercover in order to get more evidence, and this is where everything begins to go awry.

Noth's character, Mike Tossi, falls for the sister of the crook who he is supposed to be acting as the business partner of. The catch is, the bad boy that he is attempting to set up a business deal with also has it bad for her.

Through a series of comical blunders, Noth and his would-be girlfriend end up hostages of this particular psychopath, and Meaney's character and his wife wind up hostages themselves - first to the mafia figure that Meaney and Noth were trying to nail, and then to the crook who was supposed to be helping them to begin with.

The movie is more than a little left of centre, but it's fun to watch nonetheless. It's certainly worth getting, provided you don't pay too much for it.
