The lovely snowy expanses of Alaska are the setting for Chilly Dogs, a goofy comedy about a travel agency clerk (Skeet Ulrich, Scream, The Newton Boys) from Los Angeles who has to prove his mettle by racing a team of mismatched sled dogs from Anchorage to Nome. Only this will allow him to claim his grandfather's inheritance--and a wily lawyer (Leslie Nielsen, mugging shamelessly as usual) intends to claim that inheritance for himself by knocking the clerk out of the race. It's not surprising to see Ulrich in a movie full of clumsy, half-baked slapstick and bodily function humor, but why is Natasha Henstridge (Species, The Whole Nine Yards) thrown away as a bland romantic foil? Her intelligence and sexy/tough persona deserve better--she provides Chilly Dogs with what little momentum it has. Also featuring Rik Mayall (The Young Ones). --Bret Fetzer

Not very good.......2006-08-02

I bought this movie thinking it might be slightly entertaining, unfortunately I was wrong, very wrong. This has to be one of the stupidest movies I have seen in a long time, the parts of the movie that were meant to be funny were boring and just ridiculous.I would NOT recommend this movie, you would be better off doing something more useful with your time. I have seen Ulrich,Nielsen & Henstridge in much better moves than this.

OK -- so its not going to win an oscar. Its corney, predictable and the effects are low tech. In spite of all that I like it. The actors are good (considering the script), the sound track is very good (though you won't find any chartbusters on it)and there is a load of subtle as well as in-your-face slap stick comedy. Seeing it once will not be enough to pick up on all the little touches in this movie. Overall its a great movie when you want something relaxing, simple and funny.

OH LESLIE WHERE ART THOU?.......2004-05-22

Leslie Nielsen is finally in a film that didn't make me laugh much. That's saying a lot for this talented gentleman who gave us so many laughs in THE NAKED GUN movies. But this lame effort from director Rob Spiers is so painfully strained for jokes that when a potential funny one comes along, you've already expected it. Skeet Ulrich looks like he's sleepwalking through the whole movie; Natasha Henstridge looks embarrassed, and Lochlyn Munro looks constipated. There are few funny moments in this film, and it's a shame Leslie is reduced to such a humorless performance.

Why Bother.......2004-04-17

This Movie is tittled Kevin Of The North, in Australia. And I have had trouble finding it to give this reveiw. This is a great example of how bad a movie can be, and this is the only reason why I would recomend that you see this movie. Not even lesie nelson fans could enjoy this movie. The story line is bad so is the so called "humour". The acting is terible. 3-7 year old kids may find some of the jokes amusing, but I didnt laugh once. It was almost embarising to watch the bad jokes. I would highly recomend that Nobody Buys this Movie, and that if you must see this movie (you should see it, just to see a realy bad movie) rent it. This sort of movie writing/acting should not be encoraged.

Ok, Slapstick comedy....bathroom humor.....poodles et all for dogsled team....a little romance.....and Leslie Nielson from Mr. Magoo and Naked Gun series.... funny(but suggest you rent and not own...once u see it, you,ve seen all!)
