To the horror of prudes everywhere, American Pie 2 is even funnier than its popular predecessor, pushing the R rating with such unabashed ribaldry that you'll either be appalled or surprised by its defiant celebration of the young-adult male libido. Females will be equally shocked or delighted, because like American Pie this appealing, character-based comedy puts the women in control while offering a front-row view of horny guys in all their dubious glory. Which is to say, American Pie is mostly about sex--or, to be more specific, breasts, genitalia, "potential" lesbianism, blue silicone sex toys, crude methods of seduction, "the rule of three" (just watch the movie), a shower of "champagne," phone sex, tantric sex, and, oh yeah... superglue.
In the case of college freshman Jim (Jason Biggs), performance anxiety plagues his upcoming reunion with sexy Czech exchange student Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth), but his buddies from American Pie have a solution: rent a Lake Michigan beach house for the summer, throw wild parties to lure the local "hotties," and score big-time. Beach Party this ain't: blessed with a complete cast reunion from AP1 (including Eugene Levy as Jim's dad), this sequel is anything but innocent, and with the exception of drugs (which are conspicuously absent), pretty much anything goes. The gags are almost nonstop, and director J.B. Rogers (recovering from his debut debacle Say It Isn't So) handles them with laudable precision, allowing his young cast (particularly Biggs, who epitomizes comedic good sportsmanship) to run with lines that most people wouldn't dare utter aloud. The result is a liberating and eminently good-natured comedy that needn't apologize for its one-track mind. --Jeff Shannon

Better than the first!.......2007-02-21
American Pie 2 was definately funnier than the first. Good soundtrack and plotline too. A highly entertaining, laugh-out loud teen comedy.
OMG...LMBO.......2006-11-16
Any time you need a good "That SO disgusting(!)" laugh, break out this movie. This movie will keep you laughing.
So Stupid it is so funny.......2006-10-17
Sometimes I just need a really stupid movie for the laugh factor. This movie is valuble for that. It does have a plot. It is not one the religious sect would like because it is packed full of sex and sex references. So this is not for you. If you just want a laugh this is good. The first one is good too. I am not a teen perhaps if I was one I would think this is a classic of my time, but no I am from the breakfast club generation. this was just a good laugh.
As if High School wasn't enough!.......2006-08-12
Following american Pie,American Pie 2 finds Jim and his friends going to a Lake house for the summer for partying, women, and alcohol. But when Jim finds that Nadia is coming down to visit,he panics and seeks help from the one person he knows can tell him if he sucked or not:the band geek who went to the prom with him.Stifler also returns, loud and obnoxious as ever as he accuses the two women living in the house they are painting to be lesbians,so they sneak in and....BUSTED!As if the Nadia broadcast wasn't enough, another broadcast is made, this time on a CB radio,in one of the most ridiculous contests I've ever seen.American Pie 2 is even more hillarious than the first, including incidents with super glue and trumpets. You'll enjoy this film.
Good sequel.......2006-08-05
American Pie 2's story line was good. The story picks up after the first year of college. Like many have encountered after the first summer after college many new things occur and many things that do not change. The beach house is the scene for wild scenes and good laughs. What AM2 does do that many other sequels do as well is the repetitive bug. The shock/funny appeal is still there in some scenes, but it isn't like the original. Still, though the movie is entertaining enough and with several gut wrenching scenes.

R-Rated VS. Unrated.......2003-05-02
This is a great DVD set. It features both classic American Pie movies, widescreen, special editions. Also, they're both Unrated. I should tell you now, if you haven't seen the movies, this review contains some spoilers.
For the first movie, the Unrated and R-Rated versions have so little difference that if you've only seen it once, you probably wouldn't notice. The only difference that stands out is the famous pie scene. I feel, however, the original one was funnier. The cover promises "more pie," while what we see is a different version of pie. There are five seconds of extra Nadia scenes in which she.... uh... pleasures herself. There is more moaning during the Vicky/Kevin scene. The..... stuff... in the beer is clearer (I honestly didn't notice). That's basically it. No, wait! There's a few more pages to the "sex bible."
Doesn't sound like much, does it? Well, it isn't. But, the Unrated version of part two more than makes up for it. There are at least fifteen, repeat: FIFTEEN differences in this. These even include whole new scenes! Part one only had about 10 seconds of extra footage. This one has six minutes. And all the added scenes are really funny! There is a very special one featuring Jim and his dad in the hospital. Also, a bit more in the "lesbian" scene. Stifler boots some kids out of his house, and criticizes (sp?) Oz's choice of girlfriend. There's tons more, but I think I missed some. Believe me, this Unrated one is great!
So, anyway, both are Unrated in this excellent box-set. I don't mind #1 being like that. If I bought them separate, I'd probably just get the Unrated. It has better cover art. But, the one for part two is awesome, and is the only one that should be watched. This is a great set. They're both Collector's Editions. I don't care. The "Ultimate Edition" of part 1 is ridiculous. There's almost nothing new, except some deleted scenes and a full-screen version, and nobody should watch full-screen stuff.
Buy this great set. It's worthy, and you'll watch them over and over again!
1st is good, 2nd isn't much........2002-12-07
American Pie 1 is definitely worth checking out, it has the comedy, charm, and sleaziness that were once great in the 80's but were lost in the 90's. It's a high school film that could've been a little more serious, but it was serious enough, and definitely portrayed young high school boys the way most of them really are. Yes, they're horny and stupid sometimes, but also have feelings and are confused about love, and can be as lonely as anyone now matter what their "status" is. I definitely recommend it.
American Pie 2 takes the same cast a year later once in college. This one isn't as good. Why? B/c it's completely full of college cliches and stereotypes. The actors acting abilites just seemed to worsen dramatically (the whole story with those 2 x-lovebirds coming back together as "friends" after a year was so ridiculously stupid and unrealistic it made me wanna vomit, not to mention how laughably horrible they acted it out), and the college experience as a whole was completely superficial. Granted there are a couple of funny parts during the film, they're mostly unnessecary goofy antics that are really the only things holding the movie up.
Even though the first was pretty good, both films' depictions of the teenage obsession with sex went a little far sometimes, it becomes hard to believe. Ask any REAL highschooler, having sex at that age isn't as huge a deal as it is portrayed, and if it is a huge deal, it's because of movies like this. Buy the first, rent the second.
One of the Funniest movies ever made!!.......2002-11-05
Personally,I would suggest for people to see the first one before they see the second one.I thought the first one was the
funniest and the best one out of the two.The second movie is
more serious and has more of a story line. It's not as funny as
the first one but it has it's funny scenes.I think American Pie
part 1 is one of the best teenage comedy's ever made,If you love
teenage comedy's,you'll love American Pie.
I couldn't breathe..........2002-10-12
These movies are so funny that the first time I saw each of them I laughed so hard I couldn't catch my breath. Sure they are both sophomoric, that is what they are ment to be, no hidden purpose, no message, just laughter. You just have to see the movies, and judge for yourself which one is your favorite, they are both great.
Just as good as the first.......2002-08-18
American Pie 2 is a great movie......if u just need a good laugh every now and then. Stifler real steals the show in this one. The part when they are convincing the girls to strip and do things to one another is classic, Ages 19-25 will really enjoy. GO SEE IT...........
