Hilarious horror comedy!.......2007-06-13

Jeffery is a busy man who experiments on many things and was happy having a fiancee named Elizabeth until a tragic accident happened one day. She's been sliced to pieces, Jeffery has only one solution and it's to bring her back to life again. He goes out to New York City to look for some prostitutes and use a special experimental crack to make the hookers literally go out with a bang, he stitches all parts together along with Elizabeth's head then use lightning to resurrect her as a sleazy minded hooker who can literally kill men during sex but can Jeffery snap her out of it or will she be a sex-crazed undead killer?

Entertaining and over-the-top horror comedy from Frank Henenlotter (director of "Basket Case" and "Brain Damage") brings another winning combination of laughs, splatter and sleaze galore. The acting is kind of bad but there is a twisted sense of humor here such as a exploding guiena pig after smelling the explosive crack's smoke or perhaps the funniest ending since "Some Like It Hot!", this is a sidesplitting and sexy comical horror movie that is guaranteed to leave you in stitches.

This special edition DVD has the unrated uncut version and nifty extras like commentary by Frank Henenlotter and make-up artist Gabe Bartalos, theatrical trailer, interview with Patty Mulen who played Elizabeth in this movie, three featurettes and photo gallery.

This is a really crazy flick! I am very familar with Frank Henenlotter's work and this is very good,but he has done better. Check out "Brain Damage" and the "Basket Case" trilogy. This guy is definately "out there"...but in a good way. If you have an open mind and like horror with a funny twist...this is for you!

Best Documentary About Re-Animated Zombie Prostitutes...EVER........2007-03-29

"FRANKENHOOKER", by virtue of its title alone, needs no introduction. But this is one of the most PERFECT campy sleaze flicks of all time, chock full of gratuitous nudity, a blunt sense of humor, crazy scenarios, and zealous gore effects... it's enough to make a grown man weep tears of laughter and joy. But no one will hear the grown man weeping, for the sounds of this will be eclipsed by lead franken-actress Patty Mullen bellowing out various lady-of-the-night catchphrases such as "WANNA DATE?" to various seedy onlookers, including a patron unlucky enough to take her up on it.

There're a lot of gory and hilarious highlights to be discovered in "FRANKENHOOKER", but the 'nuclear exploding prostitutes' scene alone is fully worth the price of admission.

But it also features a great starring turn by actor James Lorinz, who was so hilarious in "STREET TRASH", a movie that is certainly a kindred spirit to "FRANKENHOOKER". He does almost as well here. The transfer of this film captures, awesomely, the scuzzy neon atmosphere of urban decay that dir. Hennenlotter specializes in (see also "BASKET CASE"), and it looks fantastic and welcoming on the new DVD transfer. Quite honestly, I can't imagine a better presentation of this genre fave. This disc rules.

One of a kind.......2007-02-02

Well after recently watching "Brain Damage" I began to like this guy Frank Henenlotter. This is one of the most unique movies I've ever seen. A little about the story: Jeffrey's girlfriend Elizabeth suffers a terrible misfortune at the hands of a lawnmower. Jeffrey saves Elizabeth's head, and goes in search of other body parts to put her back together. He makes super crack and some hookers smoke it and begin to blow up. He then uses their parts to rebuild Elizabeth. The hookers pimp Zorro becomes suspicious and goes after Jeffrey...
This is truly one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. The best movie I've seen in a while, and I've seen a lot. This is one of the most, if not the most unique horror comedy I've ever seen. If you are looking for a movie with an interesting story, plenty of nudity, and lots of exploding bodyparts, then look no further...Frankenhooker is here! I would also recommend Brain Damage (if you can still find it). Hope my review was helpful. This is definetely the funnest movie I've watched in a long time. Oh and by the way, it is a region one NTSC DVD.

This movie deserves 5 stars because it is perfect for what it is: THE most wacked out horror movie I believe I've ever seen. Alot of fun IF you like this sort of thing. WANNA DATE ?

Could Be So Much Better.......2006-02-04

So this guy loses his fiance when she accidently gets shredded to peices in a lawnmower. He keeps the head and works on a plan to bring her back from the dead like a Frankenstien monster. He has 2 days before a big lightning storm to find the right body, so for no aparent reason he invents super crack and on the night he's inspecting a few hookers for the right body, they end up accidently taking the stuff and blowing themselves into peices. Then he uses the body parts to make a body for his wife and things go wrong from them when she returns to life and is all messed up.

I dont understand the high reviewing of this movie it's gotten so far. I wouldnt say it was a bad movie, but it's a film that had so much potentiol to be hilarious but failed somewhere to take advantage of it.

The acting was pretty bad, but I wont hold that against it, it's a movie that didnt intend to take itself seriosly, and I found it funny trying to watch the guy trying to talk like Arnold Shwartzenegger say his lines badly to thin air.

But by the time the movie seemed to start moving, it was over! It should have continued on a bit with the ending it had or have been more drawn out a bit better, cause it just seemed like if you blink you've missed it.

However, I would be very interested to see them remake this film and write a bit more into the script... it has alot of potentiol to be so much more... partucly when the name sounds cool, but shes not exactly a hooker, especily not in the end of the film.

Overall, this is most likely a low budget film that has some corney acting and lame effects, but also some weird ones that make you laugh... i'd recomend you rent it at first, it's OK, but again, it could have been so much better then it is.

I love this movie it is high camp!!! Trashy and funny and alot of bad taste!! This movie is pretty hard to find and i have been waiting for it to be released new on DVD for years but to no avail...i tried to buy it on ebay and never received the movie and lost the cash...so i am still trying to buy it...i found this film to be hilarious and a b-movie that Elvira would love to host...but i am a John Waters fan and i like movies that are a bit on the ...different side.

Fun, fun, fun.......2005-05-09

Truly a classy movie, what type of class you ask? _LOW_.

It has exploding hookers, a substance called "super crack", killer lawn mowers, trepanning, and archetypical pimps, what's not to love?

Unfortunately, the movie breaks down a bit at the end. But still something well worth watching a time or six.

Exploding hookers........2005-04-17

Frankenhooker was made by the same guy that directed the bizzare and hilarious Basket Case trillogy and Brain Damage so you will know what to expect, a great low budget horror/comedy film. Frankenhooker is deffinently unlike any film that I have ever seen, the film starts with a mad scientist who invents a new lawn mower that unfortunatley gets to mow down his girlfriend and chops her into peices so he goes out to the city to find some hookers to use as body parts for his dead girlfriend, he invents super crack which the hookers end up smoking and then explode thats all I have to say, very nice family film lol.

The copy I rented had a quote on the back credited to Bill Murray that read: "If you see one movie this year, see Frankenhooker." It turns out that the statement was most likely made with only mild sarcasm. Frankenhooker is damned funny. I thought it might be cute, but I had no idea it would be this good. This is what good, low-budget schlock is all about. It's smart, it's funny, and most of all, it's FUN.

I almost gave it 5 stars but I try to be extremely selective with that rating. If you're like me and have thought about checking out Frankenhooker before but then thought again, think thrice and rent the damn thing. You might decide you want to own it.
