This is one those 80's films that video stores would put next to popular titles like "Meatballs", "Porky's", and "Screwballs" hoping that they would attract the same customers and i guess they did, because i fell for it.

Now i really don't remember the film that well, but i bought it recently (still waiting for it!) so i guess i'll just tell you what i do remember. It's takes place in a high school (duh!) and there's this student who dies (don't remember how but it's a stupid death) then comes back and realizes that nobody sees him. Awesome! Look for him in the shower of the girls locker room (like the Dvd cover), lifting up their skirts in the hallways, and getting back at other students who tormented him when he was alive.

Now i know there was a point to this film, but back in the 80's as a young kid..i really didn't care, i guess i just wanted to laugh and see a little T & A (didn't we all?) and i guess it had both so i enjoyed it.

Now being a bit older, i'm curious to see how this movie aged so i guess we'll have to wait till i get the movie in the mail.

This is one of..no wait, the worste 80's b movie I've ever seen, and I've seen alot. From the cover of the movie you may get some crazy ideas, but don't let the cover fool you. There is one good lockerroom seen, but it only last for a couple of seconds, and the other 89 minutes or so of the movie has a bad plot, screen writing and acting.

When the Fighting Spirit tv series ended with Volume 15, Ippo was left holding the Japanese Championship belt in his hands after a brutal contest with Sendo. He's healing quite nicely and becoming a bit complacent when an old rival of Chief's from his fighting days shows up asking for a bout between Ippo and his own fighter. The guy denies any ulterior motives to revenge himself upon the Chief for ending his boxing career decades ago. But it's left unsaid that if his fighter can defeat Ippo, it would be the next best thing to fighting and beating the Chief himself. His fighter, Sanada, is a medical student when he's not in the ring, and has studied not only many ways to heal the human body, but also to destroy it! He uses his medical knowledge to pinpoint his opponent's weaknesses and vital areas to greatest effect. Will even Ippo be over to overcome this emotionless fighting machine that exploits the weakness of the flesh?

This dvd is a welcome continuation of a series that seemed abruptly cut off just as Ippo had begun to achieve his dreams and ambitions. Even after all his fights, he still has yet to understand what true strength is, so he's a bit of a work in progress even now. That's one thing I like about this show and Ippo. He never gets time for his success to go to his head. Ippo is constantly wanting to improve himself and become stronger and comes to the slow realization that everyone will now be gunning for him, the Champion. This quest to become an even better fighter unfortunately doesn't lead to much progress in his relationship with his girl "friend", Kumi, which is a little frustrating to me. The unnecessary delay in revealing his true feelings to her is right out of Rumiko Takahashi. It's ironic too, in the sense that Ippo has such a strong heart and indomitable will but can't even tell a girl he loves her. If you haven't watched the previous fifteen volumes, there's little sense in watching this dvd. If you are a fan of the show, it will be like the tv show never ended.

MY HUSBAND AND I LOVE THESE SERIES AND AS SOON AS WE GOT THIS WE SAT AND WATCHED IT. THIS MOVIE WAS GREAT WE CANT WAIT TO SEE WHEN THE NEXT ONE COMES OUT WE ARE EXITED ABOUT THESE SERIES WE HAVE THEM ALL. IF YOU LIKE BOXING YOU WILL LOVE THIS. BUT START AT THE BOTTOM GET THEM ALL THEY ARE WONDERFUL.

Watched this dvd with my 5-year old son this weekend. He absolutely loved it. And I was very surprised how entertaining it was. Watching this video will definitely become a holiday tradition for our family.

I watched the DVD with my 7 year old daughter and I must say that I never thought I would enjoy it so much. And not only was the movie great, but so were the games. She just wanted to play them over and over again. I highly recommend this movie to everyone as it reminded me of my childhood.

Kids loved it! A clean, fresh snowfall on a classic........2005-11-28

This movie is a great update of the classic, with the added insight of today's world. It's got humor that appeals to today's kids and voices they're familiar with: the guys who do Spongebob and Patrick!! (Burt Reynolds is great to hear narrating and singing--he's from my era!) This version, finally, holds my kids' attention. I am relieved to have a good Christmas (Holiday) movie for my kids to watch, without having to overcome some of the dated references. Wholesome, funny, fast-paced. Well done!

My kids are running around my house quoting the movie--which is the true barometer of a good movie these days. They've probably burned a laser-hole in the DVD by now!

Highly recommended DVD.

An instant classic!.......2005-11-08

Legend of Frosty is a warm, endearing movie that is true to the original while being original in its own right. The story, characters, and animation were on par with my favorite holiday specials, and Burt Reynolds was perfect as the narrator. More importantly, the toughest critics of all, my kids, loved it more than I did. It's a great movie to watch with the whole family.

Further complications arise as Hibiki Amawa continues to pass as a female gym teacher at prestigious Seitow Sannomiya Junior High. The principal and vice-principal assign the male students to unnecessary cleanup duties and indulge in shameless male-bashing; the boys in Hibiki's class respond by organizing a strike. Hibiki manages to defuse the situation, with some help from his batty landlady Ba-Chan. The problems grow much stickier when the junior high students begin to think seriously about romance for the first time. Raging hormones lead Aoki to decide he's in love with Hibiki (in female guise) during a class camping trip. Shy, klutzy Fujio develops a crush on class president Akira, who's smitten with Fuko--who's attracted to Hibiki. The first episode starts off with all the teachers getting their salarys - but the vice-principal's is stolen. Without any evidence one of the boys is 'implicated' and this causes a revolt by the male students. How will Hibiki solve the problem before it gets out of hand?
The second episode has the class going on a camping trip. The boys decide to tell the girls they love them, mostly seeming to pick the girls at random. One of them even decides to hit on Hibiki. While filled with humor, this is where the relationships between the students becomes clearer.
The last episode continues where the last one left off. But soon the students find out that they are all in love with somebody else. While this 'somebody loves somebody who loves somebody else who loves somebody else' plot is common within anime, sometimes being the sole plot of many anime and manga, this is just an added complication to an already confused mess. Not only does Hibiki have to deal with pretending to be a woman, and all the issues that brings up, like being a fake, but now Fuko has fallen in love with him and he is having feelings for her too (even if he isn't honest enough to believe it).
I do like the fact that Fuko's love is not just dismissed as a crush and that Hibiki thinks so highly of his teacher-student relations with her. Not that he dismisses the age issue, but he is a teacher above all else and this really helps bring it out.

Great DVD!.......2003-01-11

I was already laughing like crazy through all the other DVDs, but this one really hit the funny bone hard.

The first episode was about the male students finally taking some action after one of their friends was accused of stealing the vice principal's salary. They go on strike and deface the bust of the principal's grandmother, who started the school. Hibiki is upset that the principal and her right hand are prejudice against males, so he decides to settle the matter with the help of Ba-chan. The two perverts of the boarding house come to distract the police. Hibiki calms down the problem by sacrificing something valuable (poor dog!)!

In the next episode, the class goes on a camping trip. The guys decide they are going to tell some girls that they love them (one who happens to be Hibiki-chan!). Tensions flare hilariously. The vice principal can't take it, so she comes to the girls and tells them what men "really" want from a woman. During all this, is Hibiki having feelings toward Fuko?

Finally, the last, cliff hanger episode is where Fujio starts really crushing on Fukae. But wait! It seems like Fukae likes Fuko. Finally, Fujio gets the nerve to tell him her feelings, but Fukae tells her he likes someone else. Fuko walks by, and he tells her his feelings. But wait again! Fuko likes Hibiki. Gosh, if it could get any crazier, Hibiki walks by, but he runs off. All this heartbreak!

Anyways, these are sort synopsises of these wonderfully drawn episodes. I totally recommend this HILARIOUS series. It's kinda preachy with its messages, but it is also really funny. The characters are mostly realistic and likeable. The animation is beautiful. The dub is surprisely as good (maybe better) as the sub. I can't wait to see what happens to Hibiki!
