Ernest P. Worrell "got milk" (Jim Varney) is a skilled and innovative ball retriever at the local golf course. His one wish is to drive exotic military vehicles like the GMC Napa Sonoma 3000. The only way he can do this is to join the reserves.

Mean while on the other side of the world in Karifistan there is a legend of a great warrior who will free the oppressed people from the tyrant Tuti Tufuti.

Due to an unscrupulous UN Col. Pierre Gullet (David M?ller) their paths may cross. And there is a quasi love interest with the reporter Cindy Swanson (Hayley Tyson.)

Although the story line may not have quite the stature of many of the other Ernest P. Worrell movies, Jim Varney is at his best.

"Ernest in the Army" is not a classic Varney film like say "Ernest Saves Christmas", "Ernest Goes to Jail" or "Ernest Goes to Camp" but it is still a good film. Were plane and simple Ernest goes to the army, oh and makes friends with a young orphaned boy on the way. Film: 3.5/5

The bad thing about it is the DVD flickers for 32 mins.(yes I counted) of the 86 min film. I was thinking it would be a small thing for maybe like 2 mins. From what "Kevin Smith" said in his but oh well. As he said it IS still watchable but for that part of time it looks like an old VHS tape from the 80's (which makes me glad I found it for $5 CAN)

Good Movie.......2003-11-08

This is really a great movie, but when I played this DVD on my Playstation 2, it sort of flickers on some of the scenes (It's still watchable,though). I was originally planning to give this movie 4 stars, but since from some of the flickers, I'll give it 3 stars.

Hilariously funny.......2003-01-17

This is another example of Ernest being is comical self. This movie is not the best of the series, but it is still really funny.
