An impressive cast gives an unexpected boost to Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, the sequel to the first film starring the comic strip cat turned CGI feline. Once again voiced by Bill Murray (whose ever-eclectic career ranges from Meatballs to Lost in Translation), Garfield stows away in the luggage of his owner, Jon (Breckin Meyer, Clueless), as Jon travels to London to propose to his veterinarian girlfriend, Liz (Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ghost Whisperer). It just so happens that in England, a cat named Prince (voiced by Tim Curry) has just inherited a castle--much to the dismay of Lord Dargis (Billy Connolly, Mrs. Brown), who plots to get rid of Prince and all the other animals who inhabit the castle so that he can build condominiums on the property. Naturally, paths cross, identities get switched, and a barnyard of very British beasts find themselves dependent on the eternally lazy Garfield to keep their home safe from Dargis' predations. A Tail of Two Kitties is cheerful and short; nothing about it is very inspired, but it's certainly better than the first film and the technical effects are impeccable. Additional voice work by Bob Hoskins, Jane Horrocks, Rhys Ifans, Vinnie Jones, and others make everything seem just a little bit classier, as does the presence of Roger Rees (from the RSC Nicholas Nickleby) and Lucy Davis (from the original version of The Office). --Bret Fetzer

Ok I'm eighteen years old and my fifteen year old sister and I watched it and we hurt from laughing!!!. We loved it and so do kids I babysit!!. There is no part in this movie that you will not laugh at!!!

I'm not quite sure why this movie was made. It wasn't as good as the first one. However, it was a comical plot twist. It has its moments. It has the funny gags that make even the Garfield comic strips amazingly hilarious. It has Bill Murray and Breckin Meyer. And it has the wonderfully perky Jennifer Love Hewitt.

If you watch this thinking you're going to get some academy award performance, you're wrong. If you go into it with very low expectations, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

It's not a great movie...but it was a decent waste of an hour and a half or so.

Bill was awesome in the voice production. I felt in love with Garfield; a tale of two cities, the moment I watched it once. The artistic ingenuity makes the movie a darling for every family. It's awesome watching this in a big screen. Not a bad movie at all!

I THINK JOHNSON FAMILY VACATION WAS A VERY HILARIOUS MOVIE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE MAJORITY OF ALL THE BAD REVIEWS I HAD READ. MY GUESS IS THEY DON'T LIKE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN VERSION OF THE SO CALLED CLASSIC CHEVY CHASE MOVIE. THIS MOVIE WAS SO FUNNY ! I LOVED THE PART WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PIMPED OUT AND WHEN NATE AND HIS SON D.J. HAD IT OUT ABOUT THE CDS AND THREW THE CDS OUT OF THE WINDOW. THE MOVIE BECAME MORE AND MORE FUNNY WHEN THE FAMILY WERE AT FUN WORLD AND NATE RAN INTO THE CHEF MAKING DESTINY'S BIRTHDAY CAKE HAHAHAHAHA. I felt this was a very poor imitation of the classic Chevy Chase vacation movies. This is about a road trip with a few supposedly hillarious twists and turns which left me unimpressed.
On a personal note, I found the main character's habit of throwing notebooks,soda cups and CDs out of the window of a moving car obnoxious. Littering is neither funny nor cool.

In "Johnson Family Vacation," which is little more than an all-black version of the National Lampoon Vacation movies from twenty or so years ago, Nate Johnson loads his wife and three kids into the car and drives from their home in Los Angeles to a family reunion in Missouri. Along the way, of course, the family meets with a series of comic misadventures that threaten to prevent them from reaching their destination.

Despite the derivative storyline, the early scenes in the film exhibit a kind of playful spirit that bodes well for the rest of the movie. This is due in no small measure to Cedric the Entertainer, who, unlike so many of the comics who appear in these types of movies, doesn't feel the need to stand apart from the material in order to draw attention to himself. Indeed, it is the laid-back, unfussy way in which he delivers his lines that makes them so funny. He is also blessed with an attractive supporting cast that includes Vanessa Williams as his long-suffering wife and Bow Wow as his mouthy but generally good-hearted teenage son. The movie even includes some clever little satirical jabs at the accoutrements and symbols of modern-day black culture as Nate, the traditionalist, who listens to `70`s soul on his worn-out 8-tracks, goes toe-to-toe with his adolescent gansta' rap children.

But as the Johnsons tootle their way across country in their souped-up SUV, we begin to notice that the film itself has stalled out. About halfway through, it dawns on us that the movie isn't really going anywhere, that it is merely playing out variations on incidents we've seen earlier in the film, and that the set pieces and situations aren`t nearly as interesting or outrageous as they should be. This is truly a pity because, given the attractive cast, we really want to like "Johnson Family Vacation" more than we ultimately do.

Still, all things considered, this makes for a reasonable diverting, mindless time at the movies, and Cedric the Entertainer's moniker has rarely seemed so apt.

Wow the crap hollywood throws at The world is incredible and insulting , This film shouldnt even be in existance, Not One funny part I Didnt laught not one time,Crappy reused jokes and plots, THis is the same old crap you've seen hundreds of times,It gets to the point when i ask myself are they even trying, do they make films so bad purposely?? People Take my advice stay away and you might save yourself from this horrible movie(well this doesnt deserve the word movie it suits better when called Cow Crap

The movie is great!! Saw it 14 times at the theater with my friend in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Have friends in the movie as well!

**However, the DVD listed (as of 7-20-2006) is - 1.) Incorrect 2.) Poorly reproduced by Mti Home Video (Miami).

Special Note: Mti Home Video never returned my calls regarding the following DVD production issues.

The Issues:
This DVD is blurred, NOT widescreen as listed and looks as if someone zoomed onto the center of a movie screen thinking this is how modern professional FULL screen digitization is done.
Note: The DVD video is somewhat dark and grainy because of this zoomed action. Very similar to when you use a DVD player's Zoom function.

I bought this DVD because it said "WIDESCREEN". The UPC code on my bought DVD is the same as listed. When you play it, it only plays as FULL SCREEN with the above issues. I found Mti Home Video's press release which says it would be coming out as FULL SCREEN ONLY - so why is it listed on many sites as WIDESCREEN as the only format? This DVD should be High Quality Digital Video if done like all other DVD movies produced and sold today, even the cheap one's. "IF" this movie is re-released with these issues fixed in an updated version, consider this review 5 Stars for the DVD at that time.

Otherwise, as a movie, it is a great 5 star family film that has good morals and great comedic moments. This is one of my favorites of all times. It is similar to
"Camp Nowhere", "Meatballs" and "Caddyshack" - in regard to various resurrected comedic routines found in these movies. Hoku's song is great and provides energy to the movie. Some of the kids in the movie are now regulars on "That's So Raven" and other Disney Channel shows. If you are a fan of Hoku or Bug Hall, this movie is for you.

I was pleasantly surprised when my family watched this movie. My two kids had heard about it from some relatives and asked us to get it. It's basically a Disney-type movie with the Bionic Man playing the role of Yoda. Overall, good family fun; good message; good movie.

What a surprise a movie the entire family can watch! Lots of laughs and touching moments that not only my six year old son loved but even got my thirteen year old daughter to laugh and really enjoy. As a parent, I would recommend for the whole family.

It's obvious why "Arizona Summer" won Favorite Family Film over "Second Hand Lions" at the Kansas City FilmFest! I think it's one of the best family films on the market today. My family enjoyed the fun camp experiences, plus the wonderful stories of growing up and father-son relationships. I think it's a must-see for all families!

Please do not torture your children. Send them to camp, maybe even camp in Arizona. Read a story about summer camp in Arizona. Let them watch Raising Arizona. Do not, however, rent or even think about buying this movie. It was only made because director Joey Travolta is John's brother; terrible is not a strong enough adjective. Bad acting, cheesy set-up, and unintentional moments of humor for those of drunken persuasion.

this was a funny remake of national lampoos vacation this movie was funnier than eurotrip by two notches cerdic was funny playing the black clark and vaness williams plays the pretty wife and their kids his son is still little bow wow not taller than iverson and beyounce younger sister who isn't that bad looking she has nice body like her sister does when she was wearing those nice tight clothes and some cute little girl named destiny cerdic older brother was funny steve harvey who always out did his younger brother the cerdic and vaness was having troubles at home and was separated for 3 months that is when cerdic decided to take his family on a trip to his family reunion over 1,000 miles away from their home before going a their trip cerdic and his son purchase a redc cardillac escade looking car with spinning rims on their way to the reunion the family stopped at a hotel, went to a farm restuarant but decided to leave because it was little destiny's birthday and the cook made a birthday cake that was going to be served to the family but forgot to wash his hands after using the bathroom while cerdic was also using the bathroom the family also pick up a hitch hiker instead of a nun and his wife said tell me u are not about to pick up a hitch hiker and cerdic said baby what would jesus do that was funny i also liked when he put his fast daughter a punishment in the car he said punishment in the car is just like home he turn off tv and took her cell phone away because she was being fresh to him while getting directions to where the indian village in some hotel i enjoyed when they went to another hotel when cerdic brought the family pizza hunt and a few packs of yoyo cakes in the box for destiny birthday he hoped she would enjoy the little cake with one candle on it and said destiny dad got a surpise for ya which was also very funny instead of a birthday cake he use just one of the cake from the corner store or he went to 711 at the reunion steve was at his funniest when he was cracking on his brother car at first everyone was praying together but then it turn into a cracking contest between the 2 brothers at the reunion cerdic cousin like randy q was asking for money but in a differnt style he congulated cerdic on his new job and then asked let me hold something cerdic said i see if i can help u out later alright and he look at his family and ask y u left me with him then the cousin ask for some $$$ but he didn't have anything on him then the cousin ask what size was his tennis shoes those r and bow said my size every year the johnson family follow their tradition of having a series of family games to see who is family of the year the price this year was winning a trophy from high school at the end of the day it was a draw between steve and cerdic the tie breaker was pretending to be like their music artist from the past who ever entertained the crowd the most wins the trophy the older brother family was first who danced like they were michael jackson while performing cerdic was cracking on his brother saying they look like blacky chan because they wore japanese outfits reminded him of jackie chann then cerdic and his family performed on song from the 70s and bow display his skills on the mic by rapping a little bit and cerdic family won the trophy but the older brother was upset because he wanted to win the trophy so when cerdic realize a trophy doesn't make the best family he gave it to his brother and his family but a truck driver drove over the trophy and steve harvey cried like it the trophy was his moma who got ran over he said alord y not me? what did i do? this trophy never did any thing to no body the truck driver was cerdic wife male business partner who thought she loved him but she told him he miss understood she only loved or liked him as a friend not as a boyfriend this guy played on the jamie foxx show as a rich hotel worker who still wouldn't listen to what mrs. johnson was telling him so the cerdic's mom i'll make him understand by knocking him out like tebo did 2 a man in "Friday" and steve said moma said crack mom said crack crack that's who the johnson do why holding the broken family trophy i also enjoyed cerdic's uncle who also played cerdic he was funny trying to get with cerdic's wife while having a girl already who he always says look just like her he was a car worker who could fix cars for a short amount of time when the cerdic and his family came home after the reunion the car broken down before they went inside the house the end

Perfect Road Trip Movie!.......2005-09-04

This movie is outta control!! It's the "perfect road trip movie"
I rated this movie a 5 because it's absolutley funny. Cedric The Entertainer, Bow Wow, Vanessa Williams, and Solange make this movie. You can watch it over and over and never get tired of it.I would tell you more but I don't want to ruin it for you. So stop reading and buy it!!!
