Description

Love and politics don't mix. Prepare for an explosive romance.

Politics makes for strange bedfellows, indeed. Robson Green (Reckless, Touching Evil) portrays a Fleet Street tabloid writer who earns his keep airing the private doings of public figures. His next story is going to take him right to the top.

The snooping columnist, who writes under the pseudonym Mrs. Jones, secretly infiltrates 10 Downing Street in an effort to reveal the Prime Minister's intimate personal details and deflate her re-election campaign. But once inside, he finds not scandal but true love-with the married Prime Minister herself. This secret affair may end both his career and the PM's political hopes, but the heart doesn't always listen to logic.

Caroline Goodall (Schindler's List, The Princess Diaries) co-stars as the British Prime Minister in Me and Mrs. Jones, a winning romantic drama propelled by gossip, scandal, and outrage, as well as powerhouse performances from two of today's top talents.

4 out of 5 stars have enjoyed it again and again.......2007-06-22

Thoroughly enjoyed Me and Mrs.Jones, and Robson Green's a delight. Enjoyed his character's growth and the other characters - esp. his friend whose house gets used for their 'dates' and his crush on the PM's bodyguard!

5 out of 5 stars Me and Mrs Jones.......2007-01-10

Absolutely delightful. Robson Green and cast are right on their marks. Great escapist fare.

2 out of 5 stars no chemistry at all between the man and the woman.......2006-09-23

it's so obvious there's no chemistry at all between the guy who played the tabloid writer and the woman who played the prime minister. they were just like two actors who signed up separately and had to carry it out and play to the end. there's nothing between them. the screenplay was also quite lame. nothing to be excited about. a quite ridiculous and lame fairy tale.

5 out of 5 stars Charming and Romantic.......2006-01-23

I just watched Me & Mrs. Jones and it was a very good movie. In the vein of Sleepless in Seattle, this is a charming little story of finding love where you least expect it. And Robson Green showed once again why he is such a popular actor in Britain. He is very believable in the role and is a joy to watch.

5 out of 5 stars Me and Mrs. Jones.......2005-09-10

This is a very good movie to watch and especially if you are familiar with European customs. Robson Green is one of my favorite British actors and I tend to buy a lot of his movies when the movies are released. If you like Cinderella stories and maybe like to escape from reality every so often, then this is the movie for you. All the characters are very believeable and true to form. Even though something like this probably would not happen in real life, its always nice to dream. I recommend this movie to anybody, male or female.

4 out of 5 stars Dang; people. There is a way to give a REVIEW without giving the whole movie away.......2007-06-30

The storyline (and practically the whole story) has already been given in some of the previous reviews, so I will keep this short.

If you are looking for Romance, Humor, a bit of Drama and a little bit of heart, then get this movie. It is certainly one to have in your collection.

Brian White had me cracking up in some of the scenes when he got happy over something.

It was a joy watching him and Kim Fields hit it off. Their chemistry was so warm, I was almost convinced they were a real-life couple.

4 out of 5 stars Just Desserts!.......2007-05-25

A funny love story, with an excellent supporting cast. Our hero (Brian White) has to chose between his new job (and amorous employer) and a budding new romance (Kim Fields). Very easy to watch and enjoyable.

4 out of 5 stars kind of funny.......2005-11-05

The only reason I got this movie because Brian White is in it. He is so physically attractive and mesmerizing to watch. I was kind of surprised because this movie actually had a sense of humor to it; it wasn't like your typical romance movie. The movie starts with Tracy Wainwright(played by Brian White) looking for a job as a graphic designer. After several rejections he is thrilled to finally get a job at Love Net. Little does he know what he's about to get into. The boss turns out to be this mean and cocky older woman, who starts to develop a special interest in him. He seems to return her affections. When he meets Desiree, played by Kim Fields, he develops a special feeling towards her. Now he is troubled because he has different feelings for both of these women.

They kind of have him being a playa in this movie; being with the woman he really loves and then secretly playing hookie with his boss. Some scenes in this film had me laughing. Not only is the
boss mean and arrogant but didn't mind insulting and cussing out her employees if they weren't up to speed on their projects. What also made this movie funny was the white guy, who tried to be down. I also liked when Tracy finally stood up against his boss. She was so demanding, buying him gifts and always wanting his time. At first he didn't mind, making him seem like a pushover, but he finally had enough. He had gotten so angry with her that he put her out of business even encouraging the employees to walk out because of her mean ways. To me that was the best part of the movie, it was like sweet revenge.

Overall, this was a good movie, it had a good storyline, and Brian White did a good job acting in this film (so did the other actors). If you like romance movies with a little bit of humor and drama, I recommend this movie.

4 out of 5 stars Good movie.......2005-07-06

This movie was so funny and good. I thought it was somewhat sweet too. Of course the guy was gorgeous as well. So that was a plus. It's nice to know that there are still some Black films that are good when done right without having to deal with the hood and gangs and acting like buffoons, we can go to the store and pick up a decent Black movie and have an enjoyable laugh or good cry because it was so romantic and cute like other non African American movies.

3 out of 5 stars You, Me, and She................................................................................2005-02-27

Brian White is a very attractive man. That was THE ONLY REASON I picked this movie up.

Tracy Wainwright (Brian White) is in search of a job at Love Net Dating Service. As Tracy becomes an employee he quickly learns that his lippy, older boss whose name ironically is Mrs. Jones may have hired him strictly for the BENEFITS!

Love Net is in serious preparation for a re-launch. They show clips of the applicants in search for the one. WHEW....It's a scary world out there!

Unfortunately for Tracy, Mrs. Jones uses her power to connect herself to him. A promotion, office sex, gifts, and then some type of way she uses LOVE! Where'd that come from? Tracy is slowly getting acquainted with Desiree (Kim Fields) a wedding coordinator who he's feeling but as luck would have it work always seems to get in the middle of that!

It's not hard to believe that Tracy has gotten himself in a hell of a situation. It's usually what happens when there is fraternizing in the work place. What's a Brother to do? Can Tracy keep his two lives separate while reaping the fruits from both?

This is a very bizarre movie filled with too much overacting. ALL of the characters have you looking at the TV like WTF! I can't front I did laugh some. Hubby and I were mainly laughing at how over the top the ENTIRE movie was. It did have some key points (((EXAMPLE))) you get to glimpse Cutie (Brian White) naked quite a few times (not frontal) it is after all a love story, and you know those weaken my knees!

LOW BUDGET leaps off the screen at you which plagues the chances of this being a movie that warrants a serious look.
