If you don't think Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997) is one of the funniest movies of the 1990s, maybe you should be packed into a cryogenic time chamber and sent back to the decade whence you came. Perhaps it was the 1960s--the shagadelic decade when London hipster Austin Powers scored with gorgeous chicks as a fashion photographer by day, crime-fighting international man of mystery by night. Yeah, baby, yeah! But when Powers's arch nemesis, Dr. Evil, puts himself into a deep-freeze and travels via time machine to the late 1990s, Powers must follow him and foil Evil's nefarious scheme of global domination. Mike Myers plays dual roles as Powers and Dr. Evil, with Elizabeth Hurley as his present-day sidekick and karate-kicking paramour. A hilarious spoof of '60s spy movies, this colorful comedy actually gets funnier with successive viewings, making it a perfect home video for gloomy days and randy nights. Oh, behave!
"I put the grrr in swinger, baby!" a deliciously randy Powers coos near the beginning of The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), and if the imagination of Austin creator Mike Myers seems to have sagged a bit, his energy surely hasn't. This friendly, go-for-broke sequel finds our man Austin heading back to the '60s to keep perennial nemesis Dr. Evil (Myers again) from blowing up the world--and, more importantly, to get back his mojo, that man-juice that turns Austin into irresistible catnip for women, especially American spygirl Felicity Shagwell (a pretty but vacant Heather Graham). The plot may be irreverent and illogical, the jokes may be bad, and the scenes may run on too long, but it's all delivered sunnily and with tongue firmly in cheek. Myers teams Dr. Evil with a diminutive clone, Mini-Me (Verne J. Troyer), then pulls a hat trick by playing a third character, the obese and disgusting Scottish assassin Fat Bastard.
Despite symptoms of sequelitis, Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) is must-see lunacy for devoted fans of the shagadelic franchise. Unfortunately, the law of diminishing returns is in full effect: for every big-name cameo and raunchy double-entendre, there's an equal share of redundant shtick, juvenile scatology, and pop-cultural spoofery. All is forgiven when the hilarity level is consistently high, and Mike Myers--returning here as randy Brit spy Austin, his nemesis Dr. Evil, the bloated Scottish henchman Fat Bastard, and new Dutch disco-villain Goldmember--thrives by favoring comedic chaos over coherent plotting. Once they've tossed Austin into the disco fever of 1975 (where he's sent to rescue his father, gamely played by Michael Caine), Myers and director Jay Roach seem vaguely adrift with old and new characters, including Verne Troyer's Mini-Me and pop star Beyoncé Knowles as Pam Grier-ish blaxpo-babe Foxxy Cleopatra. A bit tired, perhaps, but Powers hasn't lost his mojo.

"I put the grrr in swinger, baby!" a deliciously randy Austin Powers coos near the beginning of The Spy Who Shagged Me, and if the imagination of Austin creator Mike Myers seems to have sagged a bit, his energy surely hasn't. This friendly, go-for-broke sequel to 1997's Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery finds our man Austin heading back to the '60s to keep perennial nemesis Dr. Evil (Myers again) from blowing up the world--and, more importantly, to get back his mojo, that man-juice that turns Austin into irresistible catnip for women, especially American spygirl Felicity Shagwell (a pretty but vacant Heather Graham). The plot may be irreverent and illogical, the jokes may be bad (with characters named Ivana Humpalot and Robin Swallows, née Spitz), and the scenes may run on too long, but it's all delivered sunnily and with tongue firmly in cheek.
Myers's true triumph, though, is his turn as the neurotic Dr. Evil, who tends to spout the right cultural reference at exactly the wrong time (referring to his moon base as a "Death Star" with Moon Units Alpha and Zappa--in 1969). Myers teams Dr. Evil with a diminutive clone, Mini-Me (Verne J. Troyer), who soon replaces slacker son Scott Evil (Seth Green) as the apple of the doctor's eye; Myers and Troyer work magic in what could plausibly be one of the year's most affecting (and hysterically funny) love stories. Despite a stellar supporting cast--including a sly Rob Lowe as Robert Wagner's younger self and Mindy Sterling as the forbidding Frau Farbissina--it's basically Myers's show, and he pulls a hat trick by playing a third character, the obese and disgusting Scottish assassin Fat Bastard. Many viewers will reel in disgust at Mr. Bastard's repulsive antics and the scatological bent Myers indulges in, including one showstopper involving coffee and--shudder--a stool sample. Still, Myers's good humor and dead-on cultural references win the day; Austin is one spy who proves he can still shag like a minx. --Mark Englehart

A bit too much at times.......2006-07-25
This is what happens when you get a film that does modest business, but becomes a huge cult sensation once it hits the home audience. You make everything bigger and better and hope the audience eats it up without noticing how empty the film feels at times. Ironically this was also one of the principle flaws of the James Bond series, which Austin Powers chiefly parodies.
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me lacks the heart of the first film. That may seem like an odd comment for a comedy film like this, but it was really the character-driven bits in the first one (and the third) that kept the comedy bits together. Here the plot feels kinda random and disorganized. There are defnitely some new concepts and gags (Mini-Me!), but a lot also feel recycled. The gags are also a little much this time around, even for someone used to this kind of bathroom humour. I found the gags in the first and third much more clever and entertaining.
So we get a 3 star film, which has flaws but is generally a nice reunion of old characters. The dvd however, presents a lot of great extras that boost the final rating to 4. Lots of hilarious deleted scenes, a great commentary track, music videos, and other fun extras. A lot of care was put into this set and it shows.
The weak link of the Austin Powers trilogy, but worth owning for fans, and worth a rental for those who haven't experienced Austin Powers yet.
Hop on the good foot and do the bad thing.......2006-07-09
Austin Powers (AKA "Sir Austin Danger Powers"), Dr Evil and Fat [...] all played by Mike Myers? Fantastic! The costume and make-up team are second to none.
Verne Troyer as Mini me is great. Not that many other actors could have "filled his shoes". Danny Devito doesn't even come close!
Ivana Humpalot (Kristen Johnston) is a Russian woman sent to kill our hero. As a chess fan I was curious about the direction of this particular game.
Overall, this film is a comedy. You can't expect a Les Miserables plot or the depth of Ben Hur. It's a great laugh for a night in and it achieves what I believe it set out to do.
Dr. Evil's movie.......2006-06-21
This sequal to the first austin powers is not quite as good as the first one, but it's not that bad. Austin power's character has pretty much been reduced to nothing in this movie. Heather Graham's character is just in the movie for eye candy. That leaves Dr. Evil, who pretty much has all of the funny scene's in the movie. Although, I thought the whole thing with him trying to be a rapper was stupid. Fat Bastard's character was ok, but it got dull after a while. Overall: I think you should check it out just for dr. evil's scenes in the movie.
AUSTIN POWERS IS BADDER THAN EVER AND HE'S BACK.......2006-05-08
THE RETURN OF AUSTIN POWERS
STILL A FACETIOUS IRREVERENT LIGHT- HEARTED SATIRE & VERY FUNNY TOO!
IN A NUTSHELL: STILL A BIT TOO MUCH - BUT SO WHAT IF IT WORKS!
Still a bit too facetious, a bit too vulgar, a bit too irreverent, and a bit too overdone. Only now, everything, including Austin's new nemesis FB [also played by Mike Meyers] is supersized. Nevertheless, this comedy still does work and it still pays homage to the original James Bond series, as well as the anglo and american cultures of the 1960s. In the end, "Austin Powers - The Spy Who Shagged Me" is still simply quite effective in its role as a satirical comedy.
HOWEVER THERE ARE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE 1st & 2nd FILMS:
The tone of the film is the same, but more. In doing so, the film has had to rely more on comical set-pieces than the natural progression of a silly satirical story line, as it did in the original film. At times this slows things down or seems to detour the film almost to the point of derailing. Almost, however, is the key word and the film keeps on trucking. Some of these comedic set-pieces are self-contained entertainment in their own right, such as Dr. Evil's duet ["Just The Two Of Us"] with Mini Me, and the commotion in the tent where strange things seemed to be happening within Austin's innards, as seen from outside the tent by Dr. Evil's disgusted henchmen. Or that whole story line involving group family therapy which spilled over to the "Jerry Springer Show" - very effectively silly, irreverent stuff.

BOTTOM LINE: MIKE MEYERS & FIRST TWO FILMS OF THIS SERIES ARE EXCELLENT
Great Sequel.......2006-01-24
When it appeared in theatres back in summer '99, I thought this is one of the good sequels that was just as good as before. Vanessa Shagme and Fat Bastard were both a plus to this new movie. Doctor Evil and Austin Powers still act the same, and still make me laugh. Michel Meyers didn't loose with this one. The story line made sense (unlike the one after this one)and it was one enjoyable movie. I recommend that you get this one, because it will make you laugh.

These movies are great fun to watch with our teenage kids. Even though they are from the 90's they are still hillarious! After watching one of them, our family imitates the characters and we have lots of silly fun .... The world needs more silly fun!!
Groovy Movies.......2007-05-10
I love the austin powers series of movies. Worth the price tag. Buy it.
Great Gift for the man in your life.......2007-05-08
I bought this set for my son , and he has enjoyed the so much . a laugh a minute
Austin Powers is Pure Comedy!.......2007-03-13
I am a fan of all Michael Myers movies. I loved the first two movies of series and am going too buy them soon! Too bad I can't say the same for the third one. The first "Austin Powers" movie is funny and not too crude (4 stars). The second one is funny, but is a little more crude (3 stars) and the third one is nothing but fart jokes (2 stars). If people agree wiht me, don't buy this whole entire series, just buy the first two. If you are a die hard fan, buy the whole pack.

One of my favorite comedies.......2007-04-07
I Love owning this film because its one of those silly comedies that just gets funnier to me with each watching. just the anticipation of some of the jokes about to happen can make me laugh. Its like an old friend that you share so many private jokes with.you begin to giggle before its even said, even the really stupidest and corny of the lines. Dr. Evil is just so classic and probably my favorite of all of Myers characters.
Anyway, I think its worth letting it grow on you and watching again every few weeks.
whenever I might need a lift I know I can pop this movie in and its got me smiling again .
Classic Comedy -- But Don't Waste Your Time with the Sequels.......2007-04-02
I actually saw "The Spy Who Shagged Me" first, and was mostly bored throughout. There were maybe two funny scenes. I thought to myself, why do people seem to love "Austin Powers" so much? This was pretty lame.
Several months later I caught bits and pieces of the original ("International Man of Mystery") on TV, and found myself laughing at almost every scene! This is why people loved "Austin Powers"! Eventually I'd seen enough to know I needed to own the movie. I bought it on VHS about 5 years ago, and just got the DVD today. It is an absolute classic. I have to rate it among the best comedies of all time. If you haven't seen it yet, you just don't know what you're missing. It is extremely well-written, clever, witty, and with great delivery and timing.
Now, a warning. It is my opinion that the two sequels to this movie amount to a pile of crap. They are cliché, unoriginal, lame movies. If you like the first one, there is absolutely no guarantee you will like the second or third installments. I would recommend you not waste your time with them, period. I personally just try to pretend they don't even exist. That allows me to continue to love "Austin Powers."
Austin Powers, Man of Mystery Indeed!.......2006-11-10
What a film, brilliantly executed, the gags all reach without dragging on. Mike Meyers has done a good job with the script and characterizations as I really haven't laughed this hard in a while--probably since 'Mars Attacks'.
He manages to spoof 'Bond' films tastefully with a comics' aplomb. I fear however, that the mainstream Tom Cruise/Julia Roberts type of fan will miss the point on this one though.
Give your undercarriage a little bit of a "How's your father?".......2006-11-06
The first Austin Powers flick is still funny today, despite several catchphrases ("Do I make you horny, baby?", "Oh, behave!", etc.) having long since worn out their welcome and a duo of redundant, unimaginative sequels. There are two primary reasons why this movie is comic gold:
1. It's the best James Bond spoof you'll ever see. (You can take my word for it: I'm a HUGE 007 fan.)
2. The dialogue crackles with wit and is delivered flawlessly by the cast.
For reference, check out the scene where Dr. Evil struggles to come up with a contemporary scheme that *hasn't* already happened: "Oh, hell. Let's just do what we always do: hijack some nuclear weapons and hold the world hostage."
Or how about when Austin tries to live dangerously by staying at five while playing Blackjack with Number Two. "I SUGGEST you hit, sir!"
Yes, the movie plays to the adolescent crowd sometimes by throwing in a bunch of sex-related jokes, but at least they're clever and often howlingly funny (especially the Swiss-made penis enlarger bit). To the film's credit, there are no gags that go on for too long and the script is very economical.
Very few comedies have a killer-to-filler ratio as high as the first Austin Powers. Buy this DVD.
FACETIOUS IRREVERENT LIGHT- HEARTED SATIRE & VERY FUNNY TOO!.......2006-05-08
IN A NUTSHELL: A BIT TOO MUCH - BUT SO WHAT IF IT WORKS!
A bit too facetious, a bit too vulgar, a bit too irreverent, and a bit too overdone. Nevertheless, this comedy does work and it pays homage to the original James Bond series, as well as the anglo and american cultures of the 1960s. In the end, "Austin Powers - International Man of Mystery" is simply quite effective in its role as a satirical comedy.

Despite symptoms of sequelitis, Austin Powers in Goldmember is must-see lunacy for devoted fans of the shagadelic franchise. --Jeff Shannon

Austin Powers in GOLDMEMBER
Not a bad movie at all. Pretty funny, but not as funny as Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
Should've given more dialog to Foxy Cleopatra (Beyonce Knowles from Destiny's Child); instead, she's just the next girlfriend for Austin, and not a more fleshed-out character, like Heather Graham or Elizabeth Hurley before her.
The character of Goldmember, while not in the film a lot, could've been cut down a bit more. He isn't particlularly interesting. He's not as evil as Dr. Evil, and not as disgusting as Fat [...], and comes off as a washed out amalgam of the two.
Fred Savage, from TV's "The Wonder Years," is good in his two scenes as "the Mole." It's Dr. Evil, as usual, who steals the show, however. And it's a pretty good show.

F.Y.I.: While in the movie we hear ELO's "Evil Woman," King Floyd's funk classic "Groove Me," and Bobby Darin's "Beyond the Sea," Darin's song is not on the soundtrack, and absolutely awful cover versions of the first two make the album. Avoid this soundtrack at all costs!
It has its moments.......2006-06-21
I'm a big fan of the first 2, but this one just seemed unnecessary. Most of the jokes in this one are recycled from the 2nd one and other jokes were just stupid. The only funny moments came mostly with scenes that had dr evil in them and the "mole" scenes were pretty funny to. But, even some of the scenes with dr evil were kinda stupid. The opening credits thing was really stupid to, it just went too far with the cameos. I really only bought this one cause it was like 5 bucks at compusa. Overall: If you've seen the first two, just stick with those cause you won't be getting anything new from this one.

Austin Powers, back again for Goldmember. As usual, with half the characters played by Mike Myers, nothing is really out of the ordinary. Dr. Evil and his clone, Mini Me go back to 1975 to find Goldmember, a lover of gold trying to take over the world. When Austin goes back, he find sexy Foxy Cleopatra (Beyonce Knowles)and they work together to find Dr. Evil and Goldmember. In the meanwhile, Austin's father, Nigel Powers gets kidnapped by Goldmember and Austin saves him.
The biggest problem of the movie is that Beyonce can't act. Her punchline is "Shazzam". The movie is extremely funny, but no serious people would want to see it. If you came for a James Bond movie, you are in the wrong place. If you are looking for a few good laughs, Goldmember is for you.

Description
Paul Kane (Alec Baldwin) awakes from a coma with spotty memories of his past, including the airplane accident that killed his wife and two daughters, and nearly killed him. With the help of a psychiatrist (Lombard), Kane attempts to reconstruct his memories and return to some semblance of his life. Soon, Kane is able to remember his career as an American government agent based in London, working under Kelton Reed (Powers Boothe). But after recovering from his physical injuries and returning to work, Kane discovers that he can no longer carry out his duties and begins to make alarming discoveries that lead him to unlock memories of his shocking past and to question everything - including the motives of everyone around him and his own identity.
Customer Reviews:
A decent TV movie.......2006-08-29
I have seen a very similar story on Babylon V and I think its a non SF copy. The story itself is of a prisioner who is rehabilitated using a mind control method. However others have a different agenda and attempt to turn him into an assassin. It had enough twists and turns to make it interesting.
The acting was fair. Certainly Alec Baldwin can do much better.
Overall it was quite viewable. Probably worth a look.
MISTY WATER COLORED MEMORIES.......2005-05-06
SECOND NATURE examines the intrinsic nature of the human psyche: can a cold blooded killer be reformed and change his killing ways? Alec Baldwin turns in a rather stiff performance as a man who wakes up from a coma after a plane crash that killed his wife and two daughters. He is in England, in the care of lovely psychiatrist Louise Lombard. As pieces of his memories come back, Baldwin starts to wonder just who he was and who he is, and what is his connection with shady Powers Boothe (a rather dull and wooden performance here too). By the time it reaches its revelations at the end, there are so many inconsistencies and implausibilities, SECOND NATURE just can't repair the damage done. A mediocre film at best.
SUSPEND DISBELIEF, THEN PERHAPS TOLERATE.......2004-03-31
Good production values, a superb soundtrack and some good suspense shots can all still not make up for a doozy plot. If you don't mind not having to question its theme, the movie is interesting and will keep you guessing. But there are holes big as Gouda in the plot -- stuff like assassins leaving guns with fingerprints behind, people remembering things in a country they've never been in before, people being doctored...oh well, rent it and enjoy some neighborhood-garage type film making. The DVD tells me this was made for TV, so perhaps such a puerile level of oversight is forgiveable, but one wonders how much Baldwin's knees must have heart bending to these lows.

Description
A revealing documentary that covers two years in the life of Annabel Chong (nee Grace Quek). As Quek, she is a feminist who is receiving her bachelor`s degree at the University of Southern California. As Chong, she is a porn actress who breaks a world record by having sex with two hundred fifty-one men in a ten hour span (graphically chronicled in THE WORLD`S BIGGEST GANGBANG). The conflicting personas of Quek/Chong eventually come to blows, resulting in an emotional reunion with her mother in her native Singapore.
Customer Reviews:
Interesting Character Study Of A Sexual Extremist.......2007-06-03
What makes this movie work is the unique character known as Annabel Chong. Actually Annabel Chong is the "porn name" of a young USC student named Grace Quek. Grace grew up with a religious family in the ultra conservative society of Singapore. Apparently Grace began to rebel against these strict social conventions, especially after being exposed to more permissive people and cultures in London and California. Grace was a serious student who was seeking to combine her feminist perspective with her intense interest in sex. She became famous by appearing in a porn movie where she had sex with 251 different men in a 10 hour period.
Grace is clearly an intelligent woman who was attempting to push the sexual boundaries (and buttons) of conservative society. She was also someone with "issues," as made clear by her admitteded drug abuse, weird mannerisms and inarticulate ramblings. Quite likely she was still getting high while this film was being shot. But yet I found her to be an interesting person. Remember she was just a college kid and an especially adventurous one at that. She was also someone who wanted to experiment with her sexuality outside of what mainstream society considers acceptable. Of course, a woman having sex with so many different men is disturbing to most people. But I think that is exactly what Grace wanted to do, to "disturb" people and to challenge the social stigma against the free and full expression of wanton female sexuality in its most extreme form. So, personally, Annabel/Grace I commend you for your courage!
My primary complaint with the movie is that Gough Lewis is a pretty mediocre director. The documentary seems to lack a clear storyline or purpose and is instead just a confusing mishmash of different scenes thrown together. Not enough attention is devoted to explaining Grace's past or why she wants to do the "gangbang". Also on the bonus documentary, which was filmed 4 years after the movie, Grace complains that Lewis included certain scenes out of context. For example, the original film shows a scene of Grace mutilating her arm with a knife and makes it seems like this is something she does on a regular basis. But Grace says she only did this on a single occassion, the day that she and the director broke off their romantic relationship, and that he not only encouraged her to do this but took part in the self-mutilation himself.
In any case, I'm curious whatever became of Grace. This world doesn't always treat it's weirdos and extremists all that well. But hopefully she is doing OK. Whatever your opinions on the actions of "Annabel" this is still a movie well worth watching.
Will puncture your presumptions about the porn industry.......2006-08-31
If you think porn actresses are well-compensated, this is the movie for you. I guess I thought those ads promising $500 - $5000 "daily" were for real. Chong lives the lifestyle of a cheap hooker, and her place is a dump. The reason she comes across as a "babbling idiot" when she speaks in public (her producer's words, not mine) is more than likely heavy drug use/addiction. She's one of these nimwit slicers who cuts herself "to let all the pain out". There is a whole subculture about these half-breeds on the internet. They even have their own newsgroup. Chong should be the newsgroup moderator, only she doesn't "get" computers, nor anything that doesn't involve a dildo.
The premise of the film, as advertised, is her having sex with 251 men. Be advised, not even one encounter is depicted in full. Instead this is a serious, depressing documentary about her sordid, sad life. Chong's a bore. Not by a remote stretch of the imagination can she act or deport herself with any grace or character.
Chong's purportedly (*it could be B.S.) a nympho, which is a remarkable and highly unusual gift, and the film should have explored this very interesting angle, and conducted experiments and/or shown more sexual activity. Everytime she opens her mouth to explain her views on sexuality, it sounds like something somebody told her backstage, five minutes before. She quickly spaces out and what seemed like a budding cogent conversation devolves into a marijuana trip.
[SPOILER]...So if you want to get free drugs and sex and a little bit of money to support yourself in a wretched apartment, then maybe you can look into being a porn actress. The porn guys pay her less than a thousand bucks a film, a mere pittance for exposure to AIDS. And, they stiffed her on the 251 men thing...she got nuthin. My conclusion is, the porn industry sucks.
Strangely despite all the nude flesh, I did not find this film even a little bit arousing. It is all mechanical sex, like in-out, not even slightly erotic. Sub-100 I.Q. man's idea of what is sexy. Nobody here is an artist; just cocks with cameras. Their idea of sophistication is triple penetration. I am not even going to explain.
The strange, but consistent, logic of a porn actress.......2006-07-16
This documentary tells, in a rambling, confused style, the story of Annabel Chong, the woman who participated in 251 sex acts in 10 hours.
Although not being a fan of the porn genre, I have always been curious to understand why people would choose to give their working lives to such an appalling industry. This documentary - in a fragmented way - gives a suggested explanation in Annabel's case.
Grace (Annabel's real name) was brought up in a fairly strict, but loving, family in Singapore and given a first-class education. She then came to London for a brief period to further her studies. Tragically, there she was brutally sexually attacked by multiple assailants. This seems to have set her on a new course in life: looking for something to alleviate her pain and come to terms with what has happened.
She then decides to study sexuality, in particular "female empowerment", at USC. I have since learnt that Grace was reading Law in England, hence this represents a radical step - something the documentary-makers completely fail to discuss or even mention.
This quest for empowerment leads to her misguidedly seeking sex with as many men as possible. It's only a step from there to the notorious "gang bang" movie. Of course, the men who run the Californian porn industry are delighted to have such a promiscuous and hard-working "talent" on their hands and go out of their way to exploit her apparent enthusiasm.
After the event, Grace clearly has not found the sense of self-worth she was looking for. Quite the reverse, she descends further into harm and unhappiness; the most upsetting scene of all is when her mother finally finds out what she has been up to in the States.
Don't watch this film if you are looking for titillation. It is one of the most distressing, least sexually exciting films ever made. And expect to come away with more questions than answers.
The story of this woman is a wake-up call to anyone who thinks that porn is just a bit of harmless fun. It's just a shame the producers weren't more committed to their subject.
She was a confused woman. .......2006-02-28
This was an interesting documentary. I was very curious about this woman, and honestly never heard of her. Grace found what she did empowering, and a way to take away the negativity that comes with women being in the sex industry. Her issue is when men have sex with multiple women, they are looked at as studs. When a woman does it, she is looked at as loose. She is tired of the double standard, and I honestly can't say I blame her. Her goal was to have sex with 300 men, but she had to stop at 251. Later someone did beat her record of 300. What was disturbing was her answer regarding STD's, especially HIV. Her answer was simply she would have no regrets and that she did an amazing thing. But if what she was doing was so amazing why hides the fact she was a porn start from her mother? She was a mixed up person, and sometimes seemed a little infantile to me. If you are expecting to see a lot of sex while watching this, you will be disappointed. You will have to be open minded to watch this DVD. The documentary is done with interviews and outtakes, some which can be shocking IMHO. The part where she was cutting herself was very disturbing. It's really sad that some people feel they have to mutilate themselves in order to feel pain.
What was more disturbing is she puts her life at risk to do this, and was not paid her $10,000 fee and did not even fight for it. If she was promised $10,000 she should have gotten her money!!! What kind of stupidity is that? She says that the United States is repressive, but she keeps what she does a secret. So it would appear that Singapore is repressive as well, and the emotional outburst when she does reveal to her mother shows how much Grace/Annabel is confused.
When the documentary ended all I got out of this was this woman is confused and in a lot of turmoil. I feel this documentary is interesting to rent, not purchase.
A very biased I like it.......2005-12-11
Having been a fan of Ms. Quek's (aka annabel chong) movies as well as an online friend to hers. I loved the documentary. Though the maker leaves a lot to be desired. ( after all, dating the main subject of the doc may sku things wrong.) She is a beauty in an unconventional sense and as far as I am concerned she is right.
A guy bangs a thousand women and he is to be looked at as a special significant player. A woman admits to having sex with more than one man and she is human filth. We have a double standard that should be burned away in our society.
The fact that Ms. Quek is a voting member of society now and a republican to boot, should give all fair warning that to pigeon hole her would be a vast mistake.
