Product Description
A flatt tire in the middle of nowhere forces the Rockwell family to seek help at a nearby ramshackle diner. The diner is run by Granny who is actually the insane matriarch of a group of mutants led by the imposing and metal-faced Surgeon General as well as the demented "Plates". The entire Rockwell family is murdered with the exception of the teenaged Tina who is chosen by "Brain" to be his future wife. When a gang of aging but still murderous motorcyclists enters the picture, Tina has to choose sides to sae her life - and this clearly is a tough choice to make.

While traveling through the back woods, a family road trip turns into a horrifying nightmare. Sound familiar? It should--after all, it's the basic storyline of such seminal horror films as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes. A loony matriarch and her clan of mutants hold off on doing away with pretty teenager (Tina) optimistic that she'll succumb to the charms of sensitive son Brain (he's the one with the head the size of a microwave) who desperately wants a girlfriend. Alternating between horror and humor, Skinned Deep offers up generous servings of bad acting, out-of-synch dubbing, and an outrageous storyline that is simply too unbelievable to explain (think John Waters meets John Carpenter). Still, there are some well-deserved chuckles, fun set pieces, and surprisingly creative special effects. Proudly boasts cast member Warwick Davis (Willow, Harry Potter) playing a dinner plate-wielding maniac. --Matt Wold

1 out of 5 stars This movie sucks so bad that I can barely explain........2006-10-10

Bad story based on a bad plot that's already been re-hashed a thousand times before. Bad actors. Bad dialogue. Bad direction. Bad production. Bad effects. Bad costume design. Bad set design. Not even good in that bad b-movie sort of way, or even in a juvenile "my kids made this for their high school project" sort of way. Nope. Nothing. If you really feel like being cruel and want to laugh at someone's complete failure, then I guess you might have reason to watch this movie.

To top it off, in the behind-the-scenes feature on the DVD, Willow/Wicket describes the what's-his-name director as genious. The whole thing is a self-admiring plummet into empathetic emarrassment. If this movie is good, then why are there 50 used copies for sale at Amazon for less than what you can rent it for?

Oh, and dude needs to shave the pubes and get on an enzyte routine or something.

4 out of 5 stars "Shakes vs. willow"!.......2006-06-01

I Dont understand why this got so many bad reviews? This is a CLASSIC horror movie! It reminded me of House Of 1000 Corpses meets The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Horrible acting, Horrible soundtrack, but to make up for all that........great plot, and great characters. If you are a big fan of 70's & 80's slasher films, this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

5 out of 5 stars I couldn't believe my eyes........2006-05-30

Me and my friends are really into terrible horror movies, and this one had us rolling on the floor, our sides splitting open in pure, unadulterrated glee. This is one of the worst written, filmed, edited and acted movies i've ever seen, but what makes this movie spectacular is that through some fluke, all of this bad multiplies itself into a wonderful piece of comedy. In my opinion, the film climaxes when Brian, a lonely member of a sick family, has a day dream about running through new york city, completely naked save his large brain and work boots. We watched that scene through seven times and could not stop laughing. I highly recommend this film to anyone who has a sense of humor and an afternoon or evening to waste. Your life will never be the same.

1 out of 5 stars Bad film! Very bad film!.......2006-01-15

I had the displeasure of enduring this reaking pile about three nights ago. I must say that I will never watch it again. It is awful. The filmmakers tried so hard to be weird and funny that they tripped over their own feet throughout the entire picture. I now remember why I avoid splatter films in general, it's because many of them are not much better than Skinned Deep. Even the effects sucked. If the effects had been better, than the lack of plot or storyline wouldn't have been so bad. I can usually forgive a weak plot if the style is cool. This film is neither cool or well done. It is far below anything I've seen by Troma. I'm happy to see that they didn't have a hand in this. Kinda glad I watched a friend's copy of it and didn't buy it first. He bought it used and cheap. If you feel the need to buy this piece of garbage, get it cheap. Or Watch it or rent it before buying. They are much better movies to buy out there. Try the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Spider Baby, those two films are awesome.

1 out of 5 stars Mediocre and just plain stupid.......2006-01-09

This wasn't even near good as a gore movie (I love gore movies and I like most of them). The person with the most dialogue was a midget who threw plates at people. The whole plot is ridiculous and the movies just simply horrible. Don't even give this a try.
