Pumpkin scores bonus points for risk-taking satire, but it's the right movie made by the wrong people. Despite an able assist from star and coproducer Christina Ricci, first-time codirectors (and USC film-school graduates) Anthony Abrams and Adam Larson Broder lack the delicate touch required to pull off a comedic romance between an idealistic sorority girl (Ricci) and the semi-retarded, physically challenged boy nicknamed Pumpkin (Hank Harris) whom she's paired with as part of her sorority's image-boosting charity campaign. The movie boldly addresses the taboos and condescension typically applied toward the disabled in movies and hits its satirical targets (social elitism, campus hypocrisy) while undermining the "Jerry's Kids" stereotype of so-called "special" people. It's a valiant effort, but the strengths of Pumpkin are overwhelmed by its ineptitude, with poor character development, choppy plotting, and rampant inconsistencies. Its many flaws aside, Pumpkin deserves credit for trying something new, difficult, and altogether challenging. --Jeff Shannon

Tough but moving, Thunderheart is an unusual story about an arrogant FBI agent (Val Kilmer) who participates in a federal investigation of a murder on an Oglala Sioux reservation. Kilmer's character is part Sioux himself, a detail that leaves him cold as he sets about pushing his way through the community to find facts on the case. In time, however, he begins to feel an ethnic tug and grows increasingly sympathetic to the locals and hostile toward his fellow G-men, much to the dismay of his agency mentor (Sam Shepard). The script is based on real events that occurred on the Pine Ridge Reservation in 1975 in South Dakota (involving an armed standoff between Indian activists and the FBI, an event that prompted Thunderheart director Michael Apted to make a companion documentary, Incident at Oglala). The conclusion of Thunderheart feels like politically charged whimsy, but the real strength of the film is Kilmer's outstanding performance as a man in transformation. Apted's clear-eyed depiction of the Sioux's spiritual and cultural continuity with the past has none of the cloying romanticism of other films about Indians. Produced by Robert De Niro. --Tom Keogh
Customer Reviews:
I've seen this movie three times........2007-05-25
Still can't writing a good review. He is part Souix indian, also fbi agent, But who killed Jimmy? Grandpa know all about Ray, lots of mysteries.
Best Tony Hillerman Ever Filmed!?!.......2007-04-14
Although not actually a story by Hillerman Thunder Heart is the perfect marriage of Mystery and Mysticism that has yet to fully translate to either the Silver or Small screen for an actual Hillerman Novel. Why is this? The bottom line I believe is Val Kilmer. Kilmer's cultural transformation is compelling from this initial arrival to his Last Stand.
Real life drama.......2007-03-09
This movie is a great movie. Val Kilmer plays his part excellently. I watch this movie over and over again. Definately a favorite of mine. A must see!
A top-line movie........2007-01-03
I found Thunderheart to be a very touching movie, with an excellent cast. People who are part Indian, like myself, will find much to relate to. The settings, in themselves, tell a story that is only too true about Indian life in these times. It is humorous too, with a sly tongue-in-cheek humor that will appeal to many people. I have viewed this picture many times and get something new out of it constantly. Worth evey penny, and inexpensive to boot. People who like this one should also buy "Last of the Dogmen". Well cast also, and timely, with the thought that this might really happen. These are movies you will KEEP.
An Excellent Film, And A Terrific Cast!.......2006-10-18
I was pleasantly surprised when I first viewed this film. I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. An FBI agent, Ray (Val Kilmer) with a Native American background is sent into the Oglala Sioux reservation to investigate a murder. He is sent in by the agency due to his Sioux background. However, he does not show interest in either the Sioux culture, or the inhabitants of the reservation. His partner is a well-known veteran of the FBI (Sam Shepard). Shepard does an excellent acting performance as a hardened field agent who has been in the area for quite a number of years. Not to mention he has a solid and well-known reputation within the FBI. However, there is more to Ray's partner than he realizes: But Ray (Kilmer) will soon find out.
The film is further enhanced by the acting of (Graham Greene), whose portrayal of a saavy and intelligent Native American police officer in charge of enforcing the laws of the U.S., on the reservation, are met with hostility by both the members of the tribal council, and the FBI agents in the field itself. The film delves into [to some degree] with events that occured in the 1970's, on various reservations in the USA. Remember A.I.M? [American Indian Movement] Moreover, the film has an underlying plot as to the nature and reasons behind the murder of the Sioux whose death is being investigated by the FBI. Is the FBI behind it? Was it A.I.M.? And why is the tribal council trying to sell its land to developers? These questions are answered in the film. Highly recommended.

Two of the all-time cartoon classics It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966) and A Charlie Brown Christmas (a Peabody and Emmy winner from 1965) highlight this three-disc, six-episode set. Although the DVDs contain no extras (good grief!) and could have been combined on a single disc (drat!), the collection looks and sounds wonderful on DVD. The content is the same on the VHS and DVD sets, with two episodes per tape or disc. Accompanying Pumpkin is You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown, a cute spin on politics that has aged very well since its 1972 release. Christmas sports a lackluster sequel of sorts, It's Christmas Time Again, Charlie Brown (1992) that has Sally dwelling on getting (instead of giving), Charlie Brown facing a spending dilemma, and everyone suffering stage fright before the annual school play. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973) also won an Emmy but is not as well known as others; it also suffers from not having the original cast. Snoopy is foremost in helping to put on an impromptu feast (toast and popcorn) as the gang keeps forgetting the true meaning of the holiday. Also on the disc is a better Thanksgiving venue, The Mayflower Voyages (1988), part of the This is America, Charlie Brown series that breathed new life into the franchise. Mostly narrated by Linus, the show traces the Pilgrims' plight and doesn't talk down to youngsters on the hardships they faced. It's a treasure of a gift (for others or yourself), all nicely packaged. --Doug Thomas

Great memories, super gift idea!.......2007-04-05
We bought this great holiday collection for our grown daughter. She loves watching these timeless, classic animated movies because they bring back happy childhood memories of Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang. Our future grandchildren will enjoy these treasures for years to come. Definitely a super gift for kids of any age, 1 to 100.

Charlie Brown gets rocks in his trick-or-treat bag, Linus awaits a visitation from the Great Pumpkin in his terribly sincere pumpkin patch (while the adoring little Sally sits tight with him), Snoopy falls asleep, Lucy harasses Schroeder, and Pig-Pen kicks up a dust storm even beneath his costume in this classic television broadcast. Funny stuff, but also graced with Charles Schultz's more poignant and gently satiric themes from the 1960s on the influence of faith, failure, and hope in our lives. --Tom Keogh

Cute--Good for Parties, Apparently.......2007-06-14
My family and I are huge Snoopy fans. Peanuts dominated my childhood. Every Halloween was marked with the traditional viewing of The Great Pumpkin. This isn't just for kids' enjoyment, however. My junior year of high school, I was invited to my friend's Halloween party, consisting of an eclectic group of high school and college students, who all willingly sat down some time in the evening to It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. It's the kind of movie you actually want to buy, because you know you'll end up watching it every year.
Great Family Fun!.......2007-06-09
This was a great DVD, and a great tradition to start with any family! We watch this every Halloween, and love it to pieces.
It's the Great Pumpkin - Great Classic DVD.......2007-01-24
This is probably the best Charlie Brown special made. It's a great dvd with really nice cover art. I received it quickly in perfect condition. Thanks.
It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.......2007-01-11
Children and adults can enjoy this DVD together. It's a wonderful Halloween story with just the right level of fun, comedy, and spookiness for chidren. Adults can also enjoy the gorgeous art work. The pictures of the night skies alone are reason enough to watch it. The colors are beautiful and as a preschool teacher, I can say very similar to children's art work. My children and I still watch this every year - it just isn't Halloween without it.
Classic!.......2007-01-06
You've got to love this one. Its a classic and my son whom is 3 loves it as well.

Description
Silly, sweet, farcical and subversive, Pumpkin pushes the boundaries of teen melodrama to anabsurd pitch, resulting in a film that is bracing, hilariously funny, and quite often, and in unexpected ways, touching (A.O. Scott, The New York Times)! Sexy Carolyn McDuffy (Christina Ricci) has a perfect lifea good family, a top sorority and a hot boyfrienduntil she meets the not-so-perfect Pumpkin, (Hank Harris), a challenged discus thrower who touches her soul and turns her life upside down. Suddenly smitten, Carolyn finds herself embroiled in a culture clash that will make you laugh with humor, with recognition and with disbelief (Roger Ebert) as you follow her hysterical journey from popular insider'to ostracized outcast!
Customer Reviews:
Are the previous reviews JOKING?.......2007-04-15
To give this movie any rating better than among the top ten worst-made movies ever, yeah, EVER, you'd have to be way more brain-crippled than Pumpkin (one of the main characters). I have to believe, in order to keep going with my life, that this movie was MEANT to be as it is.
The acting is so melodramatically amateur you'd just about have to DIRECT for it to acheive such terrible performances. The reaction of the stock character-refinedly-thuggish poetry teacher when Caroline drives off is like no other on-screen reaction you'll ever experience.
There are so many pricelessly terrible one-liners in this film that you could make a book off of it entitled "Terrible Quotes That Are Terrible."
Once you've subjected yourself to the first few seconds of torture, you're drawn into this catastrophic film like, yes, the over-used cliche of staring at an aweful car accident. Watch it, love it, find the sound track if you ever wish to torture yourself further (although the inappropriate screen-to-song arrangements help in fully showcasing the sountrack's absurdness). I want the part of my life back that it took to watch this film. Do yourself a favor - make better use of your given time slot and learn to withstand water torture or bamboo shoots up the fingernails - at least those would be good stories for the grandkids.
Don't get me wrong - I know there's a slot for reflective, thoughful movies and that there are also enough silly moviewatchers to think that this is one of them, but it's not. It's not not not. Think of my brilliance which you should have further considered if you ever choose to subject yourself to this Monster (should have been the name of THIS Christina Ricci film).
WOW I DUG THIS MOVIE A LOT.......2007-03-14
If you like something off the wall, maybe Pumpkin is for you. I was very surprised watching this film and that doesn't happen often. The Dvd is a good transfer and I am happy to own this film!
Good movie-Nast language.......2007-03-13
I saw this movie on TV and evidentally it was edited. I have an autistic grandson who loves the girl actress in this movie so I ordered it for him. Well, needless to say, for a movie for young people, this one was trashed because every other word was a slang word...the 4 letter kind! It was so appauling that the swearing took away from the movie. The story itself is wonderful. I was so dissappointed.
The Lowdown.......2006-11-05
If you look for movies that are reflective of real life, maybe you won't like this. Or if you harbor intense guilt/dislike/shame towards handicapped people. But if you watch movies because you like to stretch reality, stretch your mind, and use your imagination, then I would recommend Pumpkin. I bought it after seeing it only one time, but I thought the characters were a great study on relationships, stereotypes, and social norms. No, it is not always realistic- hence it is a movie. The characters and their reactions to their environment are all exaggerated. My only issue is that I felt it could use a little more editing. It stretched out a little too long- I kept thinking it was going to end but didn't. So if you are feeling open and enjoyed movies like Ghost World, or anything with a slightly darker humor, give it a chance. You'll probably like it.
Someone got it right.......2006-10-26
Wow. What a mix of perceptions and opinions from all reviewers. Read other reviews for plot details.
SPOILER. I think that the reviewer J. F. Rick got it right with a possible explanation of the filmmaker's methods: "My interpretation is simple: Carolyn succeeds at suicide. The rest of the movie, after the suicide attempt, is simply her imagined happy ending as she slips into the beyond."
Makes sense. I'm satisfied with that insight about the movies uneven and ludicrous 2nd half. A lot of it is a metaphor and dream exaggeration.
Obviously this movie is not for everyone. I would not rank it a "must see," but I enjoyed it when my other options were limited.

Another bomb from Asylum.......2007-05-27
If you see the name Asylum on the back of your movie's box, put it back immediately. This company makes Ed Wood look genius. Its sad that they churn out these flicks to try to cash in on a similiar movie playing in a theater.
Boring!!!!.......2007-01-16
This movie was sooooo boring. It started off with a lot of action. I thought it was going to be a keeper totally boring and not worth the money. I wish I would have gotten it used or something. It was so not worth the pricey price tag. Maybe half of the lowest used price.
Funny, scary and actually a pretty good horror flick.......2006-12-20
I could see this film gaining a small cult following based on some of the antics it contains. For example, when the funny character dressed as the Incredible Hulk helps out with a wheel barrow full of pumpkins he does a quick flex, "and.. tight!" I cracked up.
It's the tale of a kid who is a talented pumpkin carver (though we never get any back story until later), who kills his sister's boyfriend in defense of her during a halloween prank gone awry. That part was pretty good. They move out to a small, country town, where they meet up with some local kids at a halloween party featuring a pumpkin carving contest.
During the party our lead character starts having some strange episodes, imagining his sister's dead boyfriend is coming after him. He meets a local cutie and starts hanging out with her, then meets her jealous, hot-shot x-boyfriend. A creepy old man is lurking around the place too. Seems it is his land, and he is a pumpkin carver too.
We're not sure who's doing the killing - the old man, an angry lover, or the ghost of the dead boyfrend - but one of the girls gets carved up. Another kid loses his head in the pumpkin patch, then all hell breaks loose and our lead man's love interest gets killed too. I was kind of saddened by that loss. I was hoping she would end up surviving in the end, but that's not the case.
There's a twist ending, and plenty of gore, and I think there may be room for a sequel, but I'm sure that depends on what kind of response this first movie gets.
Pumpkin Karver gets three stars from me because, while the story is clever, it seems a little sloppy in the end, and I never did understand the need for the electricity effect, seems like someone got carried away with the digital effects technology. The acting wasn't top notch either, especially the lead character, but in all it wasn't too bad.
I would watch this movie again, mainly because it had some humorous moments and some great scares. All in all it's a pretty good movie. Hey, I've seen worse.
Not Bad.......2006-12-09
For a low budget film this would be 4 stars. I was surprised by this little slasher film. Certainly the acting could be better and some of the special effects are a little shaky, but all in all it is a great effort, and I would love to see what the director could do with a larger budget to work with. The story follows a brother and sister moving to a small rural town after the brother accidently kills his sister's jerky boyfriend during a Halloween prank. Soon, the kids of town start dying. You have a bunch of suspects, from an angry ex boyfriend, a creepy old man, and the brother himself. The ending is decent. If you would like a low budget surprise, pick up this little slasher movie.
Pleasantly suprised.......2006-10-30
3.5 STARS
Going into this movie I didn't have high hopes of a movie that was even watchable, to my suprise I enjoyed it from beginning to end(mostly). Saying that it was the same formula with parts interchanged from past movies, like most from this genre of movies. The thing that really turned me off was the ending it reminded me of Halloween 5, but ultimately seemed an unnecessary twist. It also contains it fair share of overacting, with that said it didn't detract from the movie because some people drinking alcohol do overact in real life so it is completely pausible. Still there are quite a few moments of chessy nonsense that I can overlook. At least give it a rent it is a decent horror movie with some good kills.

PUTRID PUMPKIN.......2006-08-17
JACK O'LANTERN may be one of the worst horror movies made in the past twenty years. The film opens with three good old boys in a pickup truck on Halloween evening in Mississippi. They encounter a couple of rednecks who are obviously cannibals, and also a screaming blonde who says these guys killed a bunch of her friends, and of course, the three good old boys get it too, but so do the killers by some unseen force.
Flash forward to a year and lo and behold, this whole setup has nothing to do with the rest of this lamely made fiasco. A teenage boy who looks all of 27 is mute as a result of an auto accident which killed his father. Soon some jackolanterned killer starts wiping out his friends, and is it this lamebrained kid named Jack or what? Forcing a totally unconvincing reason for these revenge killings does little to validate the plot. The acting in this movie is awful; they even have one scene where they switched victims because one of the actresses (used loosely) wasn't available to finish the movie, so they just switched who got killed...but they don't show the audience who gets killed. This is just a waste of time, folks.
Maybe it's Just Me???.......2006-06-16
Just a quick side-note. I love bad horror films. I love cheesy-bad horror films. And one of the best parts about seeing a bad film is coming here to Amazon to read the reviews. I got a good laugh out of a couple of the reviews posted here....the fact that you can add the "Jack O'Lantern" DVD to your wedding registry is GREAT! I never would have noticed that if it weren't pointed out in a review! I want to get divorced and remarried just so I can register a ton of crappy movies for me and my future wife!
Okay onto the movie. Maybe it's just me, but I enjoyed this film. Sure it's grade Z stuff, with bad acting, goofy special effects, and has the production values of your standard home movies, but I enjoyed it. Of course I only paid $1.99 for it at Blockbuster, so I felt I got my money's worth. And while the story is hardly original, "Wrong Turn" meets "Pumpkinhead" meets "I Know What You Did Last Summer", it was kind of fun. It's nonsense, but it's fun nonsense. Like how "Jack" chases several victims around the Georgian suburbs in broad daylight, but we later learn, sunlight may be Jack's Achilles heel? And "Jack" is a pretty impressive looking monster....until he steps out of the shadows. When we finally see "Jack" in full lighting you can't help but chuckle. The acting is awful for sure, but I gotta say I couldn't do any better, and it's about on par with what you would expect from an indy horror flick shot in Georgia.
The "Behind the Screams" extra is great. Everyone is so excited and talking about "Jack O'Lantern" as though it's an A-List film. But it does offer a neat peak into the world of indy films. I don't think I would recommend "Jack O'Lantern" to anyone wanting a truly scary flick, but if you like your horror with no production values, and served with a heaping load of cheese, then you might like this movie.
And by the way, for those of you who think the is the "worst horror movie ever!", I defy you to sit through "The Last Slumber Party".
Crap o Lantern.......2006-05-16
I had marginal hopes for this one. It looked like it would have the classic horror elements but with a slightly new spin. A few minutes into the movie I realized I was wrong.
"What went wrong?", you ask. Well, to start with the prologue deals with some guys being pursued by cannibalistic rednecks. This has nothing to do with the rest of the movie, or if it does it was during one of the moments towards the end where I began to doze off. Sad thing is I was wide awake before I started watching.
The main plot deals with your basic 26 year old "teenager", named Jack, who has been left seemingly brain damaged after a car accident that also took the life of his father. The guilty parties start getting killed off by a monster with a pumpkin head(though not "Pumpkinhead", that movie was pretty good). After each killing, Jack seems to become more normal.
Although the plotline's derivative, this still could have been a decent movie. Any chances of that happening are foiled by the hack writing, bad acting, and amateurish direction. Not to mention the leaden pacing. The movie's boring, bottom line.
The DVD contains a "making of" featurette that's much better than the film itself. The filmmakers and actors are enthusiastic about the film in the featurette which leads me to believe none of them had seen the finished product before they were interviewed.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is one to avoid.
What's really scary, is that Amazon actually has "more of this movie on the way!.......2006-02-24
The clear winner, absolutely the worst horror movie I have ever seen. So that makes the fact that Amazon is ordering more REALLY scary, and look at the other link. . you can add this to a wedding registry. (gee guys, I'd sure love that "Jack O Lantern" movie for my own collection, forget the bottles of wine or the trip to Cancun)
The cover art and trailer looked promising.. . the tag line .
"One year after a deadly car accident, Jack returns home and tries to get past the recurring nightmares that haunt him. As his deadly visions become a reality, Jack soon realizes that each new nightmare is uncovering details of the accident that he had forgotten and someone is using him to
exact a deadly vengeance"
This is a HOME MOVIE! Seriously, it looks to be shot on a Best Buy camcorder with actors rounded up from the nearest McDonalds.
It opens with the words "Halloween" on the screen while the three boys running out of gas in the boonies are clearly being filmed in what was the middle of summer, as far as vegetation, lighting and the chorus of cicadas as the sun went down.
The first part of the movie had absolutely no semblance to the plot tag. These three young people, the sterotypical good guy, black guy, and overweight fun guy, break down after leaving the main roadway onto dirt roads in search of a gas station. It morphs into a deliverance type plot with a slow witted inbred with an "ax to grind", his face hidden by a hat (run for your lives it's Wilson from Home Improvement!)
The next scene where some blond on the run from the monster runs into the boys is such a monument to bad acting, it is almost worth the rental just to watch that scene alone. "Wilson" is soon done in by the real movie monster. . which after seeing, all I can say is bwah ha ha ha hahahahahahahahahahaa. The Petco dog sock puppet would have been scarier.
The film itself has no semblance of a cohesive plot, with
completely unexplainable and random threads tossed in with wild abandon. After the seemingly unrelated opening we get to a bit about a car accident and another sterotype is added, this time the religious figure who has to be the worst actor ever fill the screen.
The movie ends abruptly, never pulling any of the plot pieces together, and ending seemingly only for the reason that the sun came up, but not before they could throw in a lame brained "maybe there will be a sequel" scene that defies credulity.
Like Stale Halloween Candy.......2006-01-28
Don't worry, there's nothing I can spoil for you in this review. This pumpkin is already spoiled and rotten beyond belief.
A bunch of kids are drunk and then kill somebody on the road. Years later, there's a stalker going around with a pumpkin on his head killing all the kids that were involved. It's like I Know What You Did Last Summer with a pumpkin man. This shoddy production is shot on somebody's home video camera with a bunch of actors who have been recruited from the local shopping mall. It's not really worth spending any more time on it. It's a waste of time for me to write, and a waste of time for you to read. Go ahead and pass this one by, trick or treaters, this movie is like the stale candy that somebody had left over from three years ago.

Description
This is an outstanding ballet of the timeless fairytale that has captured the hearts of young and old for centuries! Set to Sergei Prokofiev's classic score, the Bolshoi Ballet performs in this color motion picture from 1961. Filmed with multiple cameras which created long, medium and close-up shots and special effects, this is not simply a "canned" performance, but one in which film, dance and music combine to produce an unforgettable experience. And with Raisa Struchkova in the title role, and a teenaged Yekaterina Maximova in a supporting part, this historic program is a must for ballet lovers everywhere!

timeless.......2007-06-25
I was really scared to buy this after reading the other reviews. I bought it anyway and I don't regret it. The film is old but it has Struckova in it and that makes it worth it alone. Ekaterina Maximova plays the part of Spring in it and she is very young at the time of this production. Having Maximova is a bonus. Yes it is an old film, but for historic purposes alone it makes it worth it. Don't forget to buy Anyuta: Ekaterina Maximova with Vasiliev. It's fantastic.
A Very Interesting Ballet Movie Classic!.......2006-07-05
First of all, this is from 1961 and is a very fine example of the Russian cinema from that period. It is in color with beautiful camera work, special effects of the period, and great acting. The camera gives us many closeups to show facial reactions. The image and sound quality are very good and typical of movies from that period. If you have been spoiled by the technical perfection of image and sound quality of today's digital products, you may not want this. I have met many people that tell me they refuse to watch any of the older movies for this reason! I, for one, am very glad to have these classics available to me(as I was growing up, I only heard about classic movies, but could never see them!). The performance, itself, is quite good with very interesting choreography. All the female parts are danced on pointe, including the ugly sisters, the mother and even the fairy godmother. We are also given the fairies of the seasons here with solos for each of them. The famous ballerina, Yekaterina Maximova, dances the role of the Spring fairy. The Prince is played by Gennadi Lediakh and he gives a very impressive performance with some extremely challenging solo variations(his opening solo includes an eleven-turn pirouette!). This was the period at the Bolshoi that was strongly influenced by Asaf Messerer(Maya Plisetskaya's uncle) who helped bring the Bolshoi into the modern age of classical technique. Cinderella is danced by Raisa Struchkova and she shows us a very convincing and spirited character. Keeping in mind that this is from a bygone era, I highly recommend it!
Hisstoric.......2005-12-30
I could only take 5 minutes of the tape hiss before stopping the disk. The picture quality is sub par but at least watchable. But the audio is totally unacceptable. Kultur says it's a historic recording. Actually it's a Hiss Hiss recording. If I watch it again it will be with the sound turned off. There are other recording of Cinderella. Get them.

Kids Love it! A right of passage for parents!!.......2007-05-03
Pixar it's not. It lacks the texture, lighting and subtle nuance of a Pixar film. However, the computer animation is pretty good for a children's video and you won't be disappointed. There are several children's videos that I like to watch with my kids. This particular video leaves me lukewarm. There are very few, if any, bits of humor for adults to bolster our flagging sanity. That said, it passes the most important test; the kids love it. Parents won't find it annoying (at least for the first 50 times they see it). My kids particularly like the musical bits. My five-year-old also likes the read along version of the original "Spookley" book on the bonus section. It's interesting that the book diverges SIGNIFICANTLY from the video. My son has specifically asked to see the bonus feature several times. It's read by the same guy who sings "Monster Mash", so gives the story a very nice "Transylvania Twist". Overall, I'm not disappointed I bought it for my kids.
Entertaining show with a good message.......2007-02-02
My kids love this DVD. Spookley is a pumpkin who is teased because he is different but this show teaches not to judge a book by it's cover. 5 Cute songs and it teaches a valuable lesson. Special features include:
-Direct Play DVD-full screen version
-Read Along with Bobby(Monster Mash) Pickett
My 2 year & 8 year old love this show and ask for it all through the year.
Spookly The Great!!.......2007-01-17
My 4 year old loves this Halloween classic. This movie does for Halloween what Rudolph and Frosty do for Christmas. I would definitely recommend it.
Great movie.......2007-01-10
My children, ages 4 and 5 absolutely loooove this movie! The songs are very singable, and original! Great for Halloween, or any time you want to give the kids a 'treat'! You won't be disappointed, it also sends a strong message about being 'different'.
Very entertaining !.......2006-11-14
Purchased movie for my 4 year old granddaughter (got her the book last year and she loves it ). Movie is now one of her favorites. Music is fun and story is entertaining with a message.
