It must've made for a great pitch meeting: Male chauvinist advertising executive gains the ability to hear the thoughts of any woman around him. Add Mel Gibson--as Nick, the divorced "man's man" who can charm almost any woman into bed--and you've got high-concept comedy made in Hollywood heaven, right? Not necessarily. The smartest thing director Nancy Meyers did with What Women Want is dispose of this ludicrous plot contrivance before it wears out its welcome. It's fun to see Mel react to a deafening chorus of female thoughts, but his dubious "gift"--courtesy of an accidental electro-shock in his bathtub--is a mixed blessing for the audience. The women in Nick's life conveniently think in complete sitcom-friendly sentences, and the novelty quickly wears thin.
The movie improves by focusing on the fallout of Nick's predicament. Exploiting his unfair advantage, he sabotages the career of his new boss (Helen Hunt) even as he's falling in love with her; says all the right things to the aspiring actress (Marisa Tomei) who previously spurned his advances; and uses mind reading to curry favor with his 15-year-old daughter (Ashley Johnson). This two-faced scheming isn't malicious, however, and What Women Want is blessed by Gibson's amiably nuanced performance. His graceful riff on Fred Astaire is a dazzling surprise, and as Nick reforms, Gibson takes major credit for whatever depth this movie achieves. After a bit of nonsense, What Women Want has a lot to say about male and female behavior, be it noble or unappealing. It's both amusing and truthful, and that's almost as fun as a glimpse into someone else's brain. --Jeff Shannon

Customer Reviews:
Adorable movie with a classic flair.......2007-06-17
This is a charming movie with a great soundtrack and superb acting by Mel Gibson and Marisa Tomei. Gibson reaches a peak of comedic genius in the movie, playing funny and compassionate moments with equal skill. Although the movie's premise is rather absurd--a man who can hear women's thoughts after accidentally electrocuting himself in the bathroom--the viewer suspends disbelief and is drawn into the plot. Marisa Tomei is hilarious as the ditzy coffee shop girl. Delta Burke and Valerie Perrine, as well as Bette Midler, all have minor roles and are great in them. Mark Feuerstein as Gibson's buddy is also excellent. Some of the funny lines get a laugh from me every single time I watch (e.g., "The poodle give you that one?"). I loved the music, which included songs by Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Cole Porter, and more. This is a romantic comedy, and although I find it hard to see Helen Hunt as a vulnerable, romantic leading lady--I think of her more as the sardonic and not terribly feminine shrew in "Mad About You"--I thought she acted well in the movie and even worked in some "cupcake"-type moves. I love the movie and have watched it over and over, but I really think she is the one character I would have cast differently; I just do not think of her as feminine and sweet like her character in the movie, and that troubles me a bit when I watch it. This is a DVD whose extra features are worth watching, particularly director Nancy Meyers' comments on how the movie was made. This movie is a keeper that marries the modern dilemmas of romance with the feel of romantic comedies from the 40s and 50s. Mel Gibson's dance scene and the scene where he waxes his leg are outstanding, and he is entirely believable as the chauvinistic playboy who is shocked at what women think. If you want to have fun watching a movie, this is the one for you.
Great rapport between Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt . . . .......2007-01-22
This is a funny movie--Mel Gibson is so cute and Helen Hunt is great as the new boss in town. As I was watching this, I couldn't imagine any other actor playing Mel Gibson's role--he has a great self-deprecating sense of humor. Highly recommended.
i bet it's real stupid,.......2006-07-29
i have not seen this movie, nor do i EVER want to. i've only seen the previews on tv and read about it in previews. why do i think it's probably one of the stupidest, pointless movies on the face of the earth?, because i bet just about every guy who's had trouble getting girls watched it, took notes, and believed each and every single thing that was in this movie, and believed every sentence that was in this movie where you got to hear the woman thinking out loud in the movie. i bet many guys took this movie way too seriously.
well, i bet some of the stuff said in there where it has the woman thinking out loud was garbage. not all women are the same, and not all men are the same... you can't believe every thing a woman says. not all women want what that one individual woman wants and some women lie. but hey, nobody's perfect. every guy had individual tastes too, and guys lie sometimes to.
i for one, as far what i finad sexually appealing with a woman's appearance, like women who are a tad bigger. i like'em to weigh about 140 to 160 lbs. if they're around 5'5" to 5'7". yet there are guys who like petite women(i personlly don't know why).
there shouldn't be a movie that tries to help guys get girls. the movie title "what women want" was just wrong. i bet many guys thought of it as the gateway to seriously improving their game if they're looking for a date.
i personally think guys put way too much emphasis on trying to find out what women want. i don't think that should be necessary. i think it's ridiculous. i think the guy should be himself like the girl is practially all the time and just feel good about himself. not every girl is going to be into every guy... i think self-confidence is probably the most important thing for a guy to have when trying to get women.
i'm a guy and that's my opinion....
What Women Want....Does Anyone Really Know?.......2006-07-23
This is pretty much the typical romantic comedy, but with an interesting twist; the main character has the ability to hear womens thoughts. The important thing was that for it to work, the character would be placed in a lot of interesting comical situations, where you could laugh at it, without it being too mocking of womens thoughts, or too far-out to enjoy. It succeeds pretty well, however the way the character gains and loses the ability were handled somewhat poorly. The humor is good, and there is plenty of it, throughout the entire runtime. The characters were believable, and the main character eventually grew to be likable. The plot was good, and the acting likewise. The only thing that brings the movie down, is the poor execution of the gain/loss of the ability to hear womens thoughts, and the sugar-sweet ending, that was too predictable and plain boring, as anyone who's seen one of the hundreds of romantic comedies out there. No actual new stuff brought to the table, apart from the interesting and original concept of a man being able to hear what women are thinking.
I enjoyed the movie thoroughly and enjoyed the humor. The film was filled with talented acting, laughs, and lighthearted suspense. It would be a good recommendation for anyone who is bored and desires a humorous, fun movie. The idea of a man being able to read women's minds is clever and amusing. Should this ever happen, would it be classified as a gift, or a nightmare?
what kind of wine is mel drinking?.......2006-03-24
I wanted to know what kind of wine mel is drinking in the movie, i tried to get a close but no luck. So if you know, here is the adress.
www.HAMMBNN@AOL.COM don't use caps, And bye the way, i give the movie five stars.

Great for couples! .......2007-04-14
This is a good deal. Two of the DVDs are for women and two are for men, but all four made enjoyable viewing for us as a couple. Each DVD features instructional information, interviews with real people, and hot sexy scenes with good-looking real-life couples. It is obvious the couples care for each other and are not just porn actors. That made a big difference for us. This is a great tool for any committed couple - and for singles as well!

These videos were nothing but low budget soft core porn. There was nothing of any use in them. They tell you to be adventurous and try new things.... now you don't need to buy them.

Dr. Lonnie Barbach is our hostess with the mostess for this foray into the world of what women want. As a woman, I'm the first to admit I'm not always sure what I want from a man, so I was more than interested in finding out what Dr. Barbach and the video itself had to say on the subject. To begin with, there is a short introduction where Dr. Barbach explains that this is not meant to be a definitive guide on the subject and is really just designed to give people ideas, some food for thought as it were. Actually, food featured pretty heavily in the first two scenes of this video. There are also some interviews with real women scattered throughout the film where real women are asked what they want from a man. If those do nothing else, they may well confirm what we were told at the intro, and that is each women is as individual as the clothes she wears, or the job she has.
Scene one transports us into a bedroom where a couple begins to explore the delights of having a thoughtful man who knows how to cut up and prepare all manner of fruits. From grapes to mandarins he tenderly feeds his partner, before gently removing her clothes and feasting on her. I got the point here in that many women say they want their partner to worship and adore them and he certainly does that in this scene.
Magically we travel back to real life interviews as we do between all the scenes in this video. I actually really like this touch as it adds some reality to the whole scenario. Next, we enter a kitchen as a man prepares, or more accurately attempts to prepare, a meal for his partner before she returns from a hard day at the office. Even though the meal wasn't the most appetizing looking thing in the world, the fact that he went to all that trouble just for her, certainly appealed judging by what she choose for dessert: Him -)) This scene was a little hard for me to swallow but it was erotic as she devours him. I would have liked to have actually seen the couple undress, but that said, it was worth watching because the sentiment behind it was right. A little effort goes a long way. Take note guys!
The next issue that is talked about is trust. The scene cuts to an older women masturbating on her bed as she reads an erotic story. She's blissfully unaware that her lover is secretly watching through a crack in the door, although it's not long before he decides to join her. What follows next is actually as much about communication as trust in my book, although the two do go hand in hand. She directs him, showing what strokes she prefers and the results are satisfying for both partners judging by the smiles on both their faces. I actually thought this was a great scene for those who may be worried about sharing their masturbation habits with their partners. The basic message being if you share you'll get more out of the experience.
Back to the real interviews and opinions before we go to the airport where a women decides to surprise her partner who has returned from a business trip. After picking him up, she reveals that all she is wearing beneath her coat is some lingerie. It's not long before they arrive at an old haunt of theirs and the windows of the car start to steam up. This was a really fun scene and the fact that the female took the initiative was a definite plus.
Carrying on that theme, we move to sex in public places and anyone whose ever partaken in this particular activity knows just how exciting it can be. Here we join a couple that is sightseeing from a vantage point high above Los Angeles. This scene has all the elements that both partners will probably enjoy watching, like most of those in this series. The setting is romantic and yet offers the element of danger in that they are exposed as they make love with their clothes on. The fact that she has a dress on and no panties is definitely a plus here, as it makes for easier access, and is something that I recommend everyone tries at least once in their life.
Now we move back indoors and to the familiar bedroom setting, where a couple is busy making love but with a difference. In this scene the women is in control of the situation. By in control, I don't mean in an S+M type scenario, I just mean it's obvious that she is comfortable with her sexuality and knows how to tease her partner and more importantly they both enjoy this. Hubby was captivated by a scene where the woman sits astride the man and uses his penis as a clitoral stimulator, then teases him by masturbating. The film finishes by once again returning to our real life interviewees who again try to sum up what they find sexy in a man, and teh women all seem to fail miserably.
What's it all add up to? This was a well thought out video and one that I really enjoyed watching, as did my partner. I didn't think the title reflects what this video is about though. To me it wasn't so much about what women wanted but how you could introduce elements into a relationship that would serve both partner's needs. Men want passionate, alive women. Women want passionate, alive men was the message I got from this video and I'm not sure if that's what the producers were aiming for, but either way it's an erotic, sensual film that as a women I was able to really enjoy. I came away from this viewing experience ready to take control, try new things, or revamp old ones from our past. The fact that this video seemed to have a really nice pace and flow to it was a definite plus as well. Bringing out important points but not in the way many instructional type videos do. The emphasis was on making things fun and I for one fully concur with that sentiment.
ON WHAT MEN WANT.......2003-02-07
Reviewed By: Katie
What do men want? For years I've thought about this question and finally they've come up with a video that's going to give me all the answers, or so I hoped.
The video opens with an introduction by Dr. Bernie Ziebergeld explaining that his video is not about what EVERY man wants, but that it gives you some ideas of what many men want. It's a place to start at least. From there it goes into a man-in-the-street interview asking men what it is they want when it comes to sex.
The answers are really not all that surprising, one of which is that men want their partners to actually be interested in them and in sex in general. Apparently they enjoy it when the woman takes the initiative. "Being creative is important because it makes men feel that you care enough to share in the work of sex."
The video goes on to follow one couple, showing how the woman initiated sex with her partner by leaving a snapshot of herself in various stages of undress from the front door all the way to the bathroom shower where she waited for him. What follows is a shower scene where she washes him and then gives him a hand-job rich with slippery, soapy lather. (Note: Some soap can cause a burning sensation in the urethra) It's a very sexy scene. Matter of fact, I rewound the video and watched it again ;-) The couple then goes on to have sex while standing in the shower. Now I know this isn't always physically possible for some couples, but it was still sexy to see it work for them.
Back to the man-in-the-street to find out more of what men want again followed by a normal looking couple acting out one of the suggestions given by the men being interviewed. In all, there are five scenes acted out - Surprise in the Shower, Driver her Crazy in Bed, Fun in the Van, In the Jacuzzi, and An Erotic Birthday Present.
There was an interesting thing that happened in the Jacuzzi, as noted by Dr. Ziebergeld. The setup for this scene is that the man gets more pleasure out of pleasing his partner than in taking pleasure for himself. In that scene we see him pleasuring her orally by the side of the Jacuzzi, but the man never has an orgasm or full erection even though there is plenty of sexplay. Dr. Ziebergeld suggests the following for how men would like women to deal with this type of situation: "Respond by not asking anxious questions about whether she is turning you on or stimulating you correctly. Just go on with the show." I agree with this to a point. Making the situation stressful when it is happening is NOT a good idea. However, if it happens on a regular occasion, I think as a couple you should discuss what is happening.
What does it all add up to?
Overall, I enjoyed watching this video. It did give me some ideas for different things that I can do with my lover to enhance our relationship. It's important to be reminded every once in a while of what keeps the spark in a sexual relationship. If your partner is a bit shy and is not willing to tell you outright what he wants, Dr. Ziebergeld suggests that you tell him your likes and wants first. Your sharing will help him to do the same. That's good advice, but doing so is not always easy. Watching these videos is a step in the right direction.

Turn the girls on!.......2007-04-13
This DVD is subtitled "The Key to Women's Secret Desires", and it does feature real women talking about what they do and don't find attractive about a man. There are also segments with really hot sex scenes... very explicit. It's even more erotic that these couples do seem to be in real relationships and care about each other... not cheesy porn actors. Some of the information is obvious, but it's always good to be reminded... my boyfriend bought it and I'm glad he did! I give it 5 stars!
5 minutes of instruction, rest is video.......2004-06-30
The video is very misleading. The video has 7 chapters. The format of each chapter is Dr. Lonnie speaking for a few minutes on the chapter subject, women on the street speaking about the subject and then a lenghty video of a couple engaged in love-making. The subjects are not what you expect, they cover subjects such as, trust, worshiping her, smile, etc. The instruction covers no physical techniques as the video title would lead you to believe. The video of the couples has nothing to do with the subject and there is no instruction as they are engaged. Total rip-off.

Description
If you have committed a violent crime, is it possible to redeem yourself? In What I Want My Words to Do to You, women inmates at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women try to answer the question. In a writing workshop led by playwright Eve Ensler, the women in the group include high-profile convicts like Kathy Boudin and Judy Clark, former members of the Weather Underground. Through a series of writing exercises and discussions, the deeply personal mixes with the humorous and the tragic, profoundly showing the power of art in the service of healing. The film culminates in an unprecedented prison performance of the women's writings by Glenn Close, Marisa Tomei, Hazelle Goodman, Mary Alice and Rosie Perez.

Unbelievably Powerful!.......2005-09-26
WOW!!! I just finished watching "What I Want My Words to do to You", and I have to say that it's one of the most powerful documentaries I have EVER seen!
This "show" is about an exploratory writing class that was held over a period of 4 years at a maximum security prison in New York. During these classes, the women were encouraged to write about specific topics dealing with their incarceration, as well as all the things that contributed to their crimes.
So many questions and thoughts went through my mind as I watched this movie - I also found myself crying quite a few times - sad for what they went through as children, sad that they didn't choose a different way of life, sad that our justice system does not yet regcognize when TRUE positive change has been made - when certain people are no longer a threat to society... But although it did bring about a profound sadness within me, it also made me realize that these people who we lock away are still VERY HUMAN! It's so easy for us all to lock them away and throw out the key when we see them as their crimes...
I am a "big time" watcher of the various real-life crime shows out there - where they talk about a particular case, and show how it was solved. All these years, I rarely questioned what led the person to do such a thing. I just sighed a sigh of relief that they were no longer on the street. I don't think I will ever watch these shows again with the same disregard for the perpetrator - I realize how important it is to realize that they are human as well - They have a story too...
Now, this doesn't mean that I think crimes should just be forgiven and forgotten, without some sort of punishment - and jail may in fact be the answer. But I now realize more than ever that when people are sent to jail, we as a society need to realize that they are still people, and many times they have been victims of violent crimes themselves. Those who end up in jail obviously need help in learning to deal with whatever hand they were dealt, and take responsiblity for their own choices - both in the past and present. To put someone in jail, without providing EFFECTIVE forms of treatment is preposterous! Is it any wonder that the recitivism rates are so high??? These people obviously are in need of help - at least someone to show them an appropriate path for when the leave the prison walls. We also need to help them find hope - something that seems lacking even in those who are on this documentary.
Another thing that surprised me while watching this documentary is that the sentences are so very different for virtually the same crime. Some of the women had actually "pulled the trigger", and they got 15 to life, where other's had been accomplices - having never touched a weapon, and they received a life sentence without the chance of parole. There needs to be some sort of consistency. It appears that there is just too much lee-way in determining the length of someone's sentence...
Watching some of these women, I could see that they were no longer a danger to society. This brings up the question of whether inmates deserve to have their sentences revoked if they are found to be truly changed, and no longer a threat. Of course, I don't know how this could be done, as I'm sure plenty of inmates could fake change just to get out. But what of the people who really have changed? Do they deserve a second chance?
As I said, watching this brought up many questions within me that I just don't know the answers to - but that's what makes it so powerful.
One thing I really liked about this "movie" was that ALL of the women took responsiblity for what they had done. And, although they had been victimized themselves, they didn't blame their actions soley on that - yet it's clear to see how their past contributed to their actions.
I think the hardest part of watching this was the realization that it could literally be anyone sitting in that jail in their place - given horrible life circumstances, fear, lack of love, and no hope for a better future, anyone could have made the same horrific choices they did - No one is immune...
You may wonder why I have not said much re: the victims of these womens' crimes - it's only because that is not the point of this documentary. However, I do believe that victims and their families should be able to feel safe - that their perpetrators be caught, and sentenced appropriately. The point for me here is that we need to help these "perps" to learn to become responsible contributors in our society, so that no one else is hurt by their actions when their sentence is over - and right now, our justice system is not doing a good job at this at all. However, workshops such as the one shown here is a good start.
Overall, I would highly recommend "What I Want My Words to do to You" to everyone. It serves in many ways as a wake up call, and is truly thought provoking & profound. Just a suggestion - make sure to have a box of tissues handy...
P.S. I apologize for the length of this review - I just had so much that I wanted to say about it, and the words just kept coming...
what I want my words to do to you.......2005-05-02
This is an excellent movie. These women are in prison for very serious crimes and you learn about their lives in prison and when they committed the crimes. Many of these women were abused and their crimes were a reaction to the abuse. You see how this is connected in the movie. This is a very important movie that educates the people on the outsideas to what prison is like.
Excellent Movie!.......2005-01-20
I loved this movie. I had to buy my own copy of it. Not only did I think the workshop was interesting but also the actors and their performences. Also, the actor's discussions throughout the film. I definitly recommend this to other people who are interested. I think writing is a good exercise to solve certain problems. I also love Eve Ensler, she is my favorite female playwright.
Gripping and full of compassion.......2004-03-29
This production shows women who have committed terrible crimes talking about their feelings as human beings-- their regrets, the difficulty of living after the crime/s were committed, what it's like to know they will be in prison for the rest of their lives, what it felt like to be considered 'monsters' in the press, and more. Eve Ensler is leading a writer's circle where the women are exploring these themes. Her interaction with the women is so straight across. The whole feeling of this production is that these are human beings first and prisoners second. It is a work of great compassion and honesty.

Just Like Heaven
Bad romantic comedies make you scoff at their absurdity; good ones make you wish your life was that absurd. Just Like Heaven is just smart and likable enough to trigger that wishing. David (Mark Ruffalo, Collateral, You Can Count On Me) finds an amazing apartment in San Francisco--only to discover it's haunted by the spirit of the previous tenant, an overachieving doctor named Elizabeth (Reese Witherspoon, Legally Blonde, Election). There's something not quite right about Elizabeth's afterlife; against his better judgement, David agrees to help her investigate her life...but finds himself digging into his own as well. The plot takes a twist that some viewers will see coming, but Just Like Heaven doesn't rely on the surprise alone; the revelation takes the story in a new and just as entertaining direction. Witherspoon and Ruffalo are two of the best romantic leads around, but the surprise is how well their contrasting flavors (perky and moody, respectively) mesh, creating a sparky, engaging chemistry. Also featuring Dina Waters (Freaky Friday), Donal Logue (The Tao of Steve), Ben Shenkman (Angels in America), and Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite). Crisply directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls), who carefully keeps the supernatural from getting silly and the romance from getting gooey. --Bret Fetzer
Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!
To improve their client's tarnished image, the managers of movie heartthrob Tad Hamilton (TV star Josh Duhamel) trump up a contest in which an innocent middle-American girl will win a date with the hunk. A West Virginia grocery clerk named Rosalee (Kate Bosworth, Blue Crush) wins, much to the dismay of her friend Pete (Topher Grace, Traffic), who's secretly in love with her. A summary of the romantic triangle that follows won't capture the charm of Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!. Though formulaic in structure, the movie is constantly surprising and engaging in its details. All romantic comedies should have such a smart script, understated but spot-on acting (Grace, Bosworth, and Duhamel are delightful and given excellent comic support from Nathan Lane, Sean Hayes, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Gary Cole), and clean, clear direction (from the director of Legally Blonde, another formulaic but irrepressibly fun movie). --Bret Fetzer
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Kate Hudson twinkles as the heroine of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, a magazine writer assigned to date a guy, make all the mistakes girls make that drive guys away (being clingy, talking in baby-talk, etc.), and record the process like a sociological experiment. However, the guy she picks--rangy Matthew McConaughey--is an advertising executive who's just bet that he can make a woman fall in love with him in ten days; if he succeeds, he'll win a huge account that will make his career. The set-up is completely absurd, but the collision of their efforts to woo and repel creates some pretty funny scenes. McConaughey's easy charm and Hudson's lightweight impishness play well together and the plot, though strictly Hollywood formula, chugs along efficiently. At moments Hudson seems to channel her mother, Goldie Hawn, to slightly unnerving effect. --Bret Fetzer
What Women Want
Forces of Nature
Plane crashes, pickpockets, hurricanes--heaven and hell is moving to prevent our able hero Ben (Ben Affleck) from marrying his sweetie (Maura Tierney) in Savannah. At every turn he runs into someone else despairing about the woes of married life. And of course, temptation proves overwhelming in the face of traveling companion Sarah (Sandra Bullock), the wild woman whom he can't seem--or doesn't want--to lose.
After a wayward bird flies into the engine of his airplane, Ben is forced to find another way to his wedding. He finds himself stuck with Sarah, whom he carried from the plane after she was whacked in the noggin by his laptop. The heat between them is unmistakable, and the drama in the film comes from the "will he or won't he," both in terms of sleeping with Sarah and meeting up with his bride. Forces of Nature is a fun and sentimental road-trip film, but Ben is such a strait-laced noodge, you can't help but want him to fall flat on his face just a little. Bullock is the life of this film, although her free-spirited ways get a bit tired (responsibility is not all bad). The highlight of this movie, though, is definitely the cinematography. The beautiful rain shots and the colors of the scenes lend to the unsettling mood. While the jokes are not rip-roaring, Forces is to be reckoned with for those times when a lighthearted film is what you need. --Jenny Brown

Just Like Heaven
A couple who live on different sides of the divide of life and death discover just how many boundaries love can cross in this romantic comic fantasy. Elizabeth (Reese Witherspoon) is a hardworking and dedicated medical resident who, after 20 hours on duty, is heading home when she falls asleep at the wheel of her car and is involved in a fatal auto accident. Several weeks later, a man named David (Mark Ruffalo) takes over the lease on Elizabeth's apartment, but he discovers that she hasn't quite vacated the building. Elizabeth's body may be dead, but her spirit is still quite lively, and her ghost is insisting that the apartment is still hers...and that she wants him to move out. David brings in Darryl (Jon Heder), an eccentric man who claims to have psychic powers, to help sweep Elizabeth's spirit out of the apartment, but she refuses to budge, certain that she can't be completely dead, despite all evidence to the contrary. As Elizabeth and David try to share the flat, they discover that their differences aren't as great as they once imagined, and they become attracted to one another. But will Elizabeth's spirit stay in the land of the living long enough for their romance to go somewhere? Just Like Heaven marked Jon Heder's first feature film role after his breakthrough appearance in the independent hit Napoleon Dynamite.

Keep your woman satisfied!.......2007-04-13
This is a very sexy DVD, with real life couples demonstrating everything from oral sex to threesomes. It also shows men where to find the G-spot and how to stimulate it... girls, if your man needs some private pointers, this is a good buy. There are short snippets of women telling what they do and don't like in a guy, and there are also some very hot sex scenes where nothing is left to the imagination. If you're thinking about trying something new, or indulging your fantasies, this is a good place to start!
I learned more from the Lifetime channel..........2006-09-07
This DVD sucked and not in a good way. I purchased this DVD as a combo pack with "What Men Want" and I will never purchase one of the tapes in this series again. The things they did in this video were all common knowledge. I was looking to learn a thing or two and I learned absolutely nothing from these videos. The couples looked like they were faking it and the commentaries were pointless. I did more in the shower as a virgin with my boyfriend then these folks did. Don't buy this tape because you can get more knowledge from cable tv then these provide. I'm sure the average imagination naturally comes up with better stuff.
Trying to be positive........2006-06-04
What happened. This move was supposed to reveal some hot sexy preference most women love. Instead it fell short by, hitting on the average, mundane already know side of sexual pleasure. Leaving the viewer with a feeling of why did they even bother producing this DVD. Actually this company has produced several; I suspect mostly for profits. A DVD I recommend is deliberate orgasm. It reveals the women's most sensitive areas in a scientific way supported by a live demonstration. Just read some of the other reviews and I think you'll find it a better choose then this pick.

The women's suffrage movement inspired this silent film classic that includes appearances by equal rights crusaders Emmeline Pankhurst and Harriet Stanton Blatch. As politicos work to deny women the right to vote, a young lawyer tells his activist girlfriend of the corruption within the government that actively seeks to ensure that her voice is never heard. Douglass Dumbrille, Ronald Everett, George Henry star. Made in 1913.

Who wants what where?.......2007-01-11
Just a quick word to warn the silent film fans to stay away. The film is almost nonexistent - there's no the slightest hint of any kind of direction, and if there are good actors, the copy is so miserable that you just won't be able to see. It's a mediocre story of a woman and a bad, corrupt man, and somehow the moral seems to be "Votes for Women!". How it ever got there, beats me, since my attention faded very soon. Too bad.

Customer Reviews:
THE CRITICS WERE WRONG..........2006-04-27
This movie is surprisingly charming, given the fact that critics pilloried it when it first came out. All I can say is that Mel Gibson still has what it takes to be a leading man in a romantic comedy.
The movie certainly opens promisingly enough with a hilarious sneak preview into the childhood of the main character, Nick, a top advertising agency executive that Mel Gibson plays with great aplomb. Nick is a divorced, male chauvinist who thinks that he is God's gift to women. Unfortunately, as so many men of this type are, he is dead wrong. He is just a man's man who thinks that he is a ladies' man.
He begins to get his comeuppance when the coveted job of Creative Director, to which he is expecting to be promoted, is offered to someone outside the agency, another advertising whiz named Darcie, affectingly played by Helen Hunt. She gets the job, rather than he, so that the agency might be better able to tap into the women's market. She is now his new boss, and Nick is not happy.
After their first meeting, the disgruntled Nick goes home and drinks himself into a stupor. Look for the wonderful dance routine done in best Fred Astaire style. It is a charming salute to an all time great. While in his inebriated state, however, Nick has a shocking accident (pun intended) that enables him to be able to read women's minds.
This ability causes him some distress, as he is amazed to find out what women really think of him, and it is not always flattering. It also enables him to please women as never before, as he is able to read their innermost thoughts and anticipate their needs. It even helps him repair his relationship with his fifteen year old daughter who is undergoing teenage angst.
He uses this ability, however, to trump Darcie, unbeknownst to her, as he has every intention of getting the job he coveted. What he does not anticipate is falling in love with her. This certainly puts a kink into his plans. The question is whether love will triumph. Watch the movie and find out.
The contrivance of being able to read women's minds creates some very funny scenes and interesting situations. It also allows Nick's character to grow as a person and become more three dimensional. There is a strong supporting cast that includes Delta Burke, Marisa Tomei, and an unbilled cameo by by Bette Midler. This is an engaging film that, oddly enough, is sure to delight both men and women, and Mel Gibson, with his easy going charm, is definitely what women want.
