It's party time, but Kid (Christopher Reid) has been grounded by his strict but loving dad (Robin Harris). His best friend, Play (Christopher Martin), however, cooks up a scheme to sneak him out of the house so he can hook up with his honey at a buddy's house, where it's all going on. Rappers Kid 'N Play are engaging and funny--and entertaining rappers when they get the chance. The real find was comic Robin Harris, hilarious in his own right and solid in this role--but he died a short time later. Look for Martin Lawrence in one of his first film roles as well. --Marshall Fine

Angel's Halloween bash.......2007-03-28
OK, so the plot isn't the most original in the world, a kind of "The Amityville Horror" by way of Freddy Krueger-ish wise cracking demon monsters. "Night of the Demons" is about a bunch of likeable (but to the slasher standard unremarkable) stereotypical kids who decide to have a party in an old funeral home. After dancing and drinking for awhile they think it would be fun to have a séance and accidentally unleash the spirits that have lain dormant in the house for so long.
I will be the first to admit there a few logic problems with this movie, the biggest question was how did the monsters become bound to that house in the first place? They aren't ghosts, which would sort of make sense because it's a funeral home, but demons. How did the kids find out about the place? And dose anyone notice that nymphomaniac Suzanne (Linnea Quigley) is quiet a bit older than the other kids (though she's pretty hot in her costume). The acting is pretty atrocious, but what do you expect? The only stand out is Quigley, who was the 1980s reigning scream queen, and shows us things she can do with a tube of lipstick that are pretty wild. Even she is not very convincing.
OK, so far I have been pretty hard on the movie, but there is plenty good about it too. As I said before the kids, while not original, are pretty likable, especially Angela; well, at first anyway. It's the film's sense of humor that's it's redeeming quality. At that time horror movies were taking themselves pretty seriously (despite what you may think), and the script felt pretty light on it's feet. I first saw this movie when I was pretty young, and it scared me to death back then. It is much cornier now, but some of the disturbing images stayed with me for a long time. The gore was pretty impressive too, and that was the selling point to me for this movie. The editing was lean and sharp, and the set design was impressive considering how little money they had to work with.
Pretty good for a Halloween party movie, just don't invite the girl with the lipstick.
Good movie.......2007-03-26
I remember watching this film in the late 80's for the first time on VHS and now again on DVD. I've always been a fan of horror films and say
this is a good 80's horror film watch it.
Linnea Quigley, Demonized!..........2007-03-07
Ah, the 80s! Funny clothes and even funnier haircuts. Still, there is a certain charm about it now. Take NIGHT OF THE DEMONS for instance. It starts out slow and fairly lame, then BOOM! Linnea Quigley (Return Of The Living Dead, Graduation Day) gets possessed and it's party time! Yes, I'm a Linnea loon! She has a way of turning just about any movie into a must see classic! You've all seen or heard about the infamous "Lipstick Disappear-o" scene and Ms. Q's tendency to shed her clothes like nobody's business (praise the Lord). However, she is also great in her demonic persona. She is pretty creepy and menacing for a SoCal gal! Check out her face when she says, "Stop looking at me!" Yikes! I highly recommend NOTD to all LQ fanatics...
Essential for the Horror Fanatic.......2007-02-19
As a child this movie scared that crap out of me. As an adult I found the story and the horrible acting very entertaining. The special effects are great for their time and there are some genuine "boo!" moments that make you jump. Definitely a fun movie to watch and an essential part of a decent horror movie collection.
Horror Review.......2007-02-08
Overall, this is one of those late 80s horror films with cheap actors and low-budget settings. But, the script did not need high-paying actresses like Julia Roberts or Susan Sarandon in order to be successful. The film is trictly about the average horny teenagers who are looking for a cheap scare for the Halloween night at an abandoned parlor home. It was the sight of a gruesome massacre, according to the story. Apparently, the house is POSSESSED and the spirits living inside of it are considered demons. So, here comes the spirited crowd of partiers with a willingness to raise some hell. And, of course, you can predict the storyline as of what happens. The only thing that I can say is useful out of these B-horror films, just as I commented on "Puppet Master" and "Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives", is that these movies provided some hintful ideas for women who might be having some sexual difficulties regarding getting their mates "in the mood" as frequently as they are. If you women are experiencing that problem or would like to spice it up, then pull out your debit card and order some horror flicks mentioned. Some of the best ideas have been pulled out from these films, not Playboy pornography. One peculiar scene is where two lovers are getting it on in a coffin. Out of all the women I have personally dated, maybe only one or two would be possibly open-minded enough to elaborate in some different settings for sexuality. Key word: POSSIBLY!
So, take a glance at some of these horror films. You might catch an idea. But, in reality with all due respect to the fellas, I don't think the majority of us will get very lucky. As my father always said, "Only in the movies!"

Bear Rocks.......2007-03-07
Excellent music & lots of entertainment. Bear does it again teaching children while entertaining at the same time. This is a good way to keep you child busy while they learn. Bear teaches values and helpful information such as dancing, instruments, music, about birthdays, seasons, shapes, colors, potty training, brushing teeth, bathing, sharing, friendship, and alot more.
My Daughter Loves Bear!.......2006-09-24
My Daughter adores Bear, although this video makes her a little hyper.
Your kids will want to dance, dance, dance!
Bear is awesome...and he's in SPANISH, too!.......2006-08-03
Bear is so much more enjoyable than some of the other kiddie fare out there. We love the songs, his gentle, caring nature and his silly sniffing! You can not go wrong with bear. This one is great for the little ones that like to "get down"! As a bonus, this one (and quite a few of the others) has a spanish soundtrack for those wishing to raise their children bilingually. I love it! (The only problem there is that while Bear may say "manzanas" the word "apples" shows up on the screen.) Bear is simply the best. We are cuckoo for Bear in this house. :)
What a party!.......2006-03-17
the songs are lively and catchy. My 2 year old daughter loves to sing and dance to the Grandma Mambo with Grandma Flutter Tutter and play her maracas along with Ojo's orchestra.
This is our favorite Bear DVD!
Lilly loves Bear.......2006-03-03
My one year old loves this show. She laughs out loud and dances with Bear and his friends. I highly recommend it!

William Castle's gimmick-laden comic thriller is not so much a horror movie as a fairground funhouse come to life. Vincent Price stars as a deliciously silky millionaire married to a greedy gold digger (Carol Ohmart) who refuses to divorce him. When he turns his wife's idea for a haunted-house party into a contest--$10,000 to whoever will spend the night in "the only truly haunted house in the world"--it seems he may have found an alternative to divorce. Five strangers gather to test their stamina, Price hands each of them delightfully twisted party favors (loaded handguns, delivered in their own tiny coffins), and the spook show begins. Blood drips from the ceiling, zombielike apparitions float through rooms, severed heads and skeletons suddenly appear, and then a guest is found hanging in the stairwell. Full of screams and things that go bump in the night, House on Haunted Hill isn't particularly scary and often makes little sense, but, like a Halloween haunted house, the spectacle of spook-show clichés is quite entertaining, and Price makes a sardonic master of ceremonies. The original theatrical presentations featured a typically outrageous Castle-engineered gimmick: Emergo, which was nothing more than a skeleton that appeared to fly out of the screen and over the audience on a guide wire. --Sean Axmaker
Customer Reviews:
Not gory like the 1999 version but still good.......2007-02-26
Millionaire Fredrick Loren played by a young Vincent Price invites five strangers to a party in the House On Haunted Hill. With his delectable wife Annabel in tow, he has set the strangers a task of sorts, if they can spend one night locked in the house he will give them $10,000 each, however there is a bit of a catch to this seemingly generous offer, the house has seen several brutal murders and is reputed to be haunted.
One of the guests in the house was even related to one of the victims and he is emphatic that the whole house is haunted and that they are all doomed because of what they are doing.
At midnight the door is locked and everyone in the house waits to see what will happen next, and very soon all are locked into a game of terror and murder as the House on Haunted Hill takes on a life of its own, but there is a twist in the tale that is deliciously surprising as it is fun.
I enjoyed this film, it wasn't overly suspenseful, but there are enough scenes to make you jump every now and then, the special effects were none-existent and there was a lot of screaming and shrieking from the character Norah a young woman who appears to be being targeted by the ghosts in the house.
All in all a hokum of a movie but great fun all the same.
Schlocky yet creepy.......2007-02-06
Vincent Price. A haunted mansion house. Spooky caretakers. And a giant pile of money to any of the guests who lives through the night. What's not to love?
"The House on Haunted Hill" is one of those rare horror movies that seems as fresh as if it were made yesterday. The script is clever, the acting is solid, and while the direction is a bit on the hammy side, the plot is clever enough to keep viewers riveted until the final twist. It's horror, myster and dark comedy all in one.
Frederick Loren (Vincent Price) decides to host a macabre birthday party for his devious wife Annabelle (Carol Ohmart), in the "House on Haunted Hill." He invites a test pilot, a columnist, a secretary and the house's unbalanced owner, and offers each one ten thousand dollars if they stay all night. Chandeliers fall, doors slam shut, and they get to see the wine vat full of acid.
But as the night goes on, poor Nora Manning (Carolyn Craig) begins to see specters and rotted heads. The others think she's hysterical -- until Annabelle is found hanging in the hallway, dead. The unfortunate guests start to suspect that Loren brought them there to murder them (except for the owner, who blames ghosts). But the truth is far more complex and sinister....
William Castle made a lot of slightly kitschy horror movies like "13 Ghosts" and "The Tingler," but this clever twist on haunted-house movies is probably his best work ever. Okay, that dancing skeleton is unintentionally funny, as is the gliding crone. But most of the time, it provides some in-your-face chills and great work from Price.
This movie has solid dialogue ("Do you remember the fun we had when you poisoned me?") and some truly wicked exchanges between Price and Ohmart, as spouses who completely loathe one another. Castle's weird sense of humor shows up in the coffin-shaped boxes, the vat of acid, and the organ playing itself.
But the most impressive aspect of "House" is that it's not just another ghosts-terrify-screaming-idiots movie. It's more of a mystery, before the crime is committed. We're never quite sure if there really are ghosts haunting the place, or if the humans are the ones who are really causing all this trouble. What's really scary is that the humans are more frightening.
Vincent Price is definitely the star here -- creepy, intelligent, debonair, and he has an acid comment for every occasion ("Don't stay up thinking of ways to get rid of me. It makes wrinkles"). Ohmart runs a close second with her seductive, devious trophy wife; the other actors do solid jobs as well, although Craig doesn't do much except shriek periodically.
It's should be noted that the Alpha Video version of this is a good inexpensive version to buy. Many public domain movies are in rotten condition, but the print for this is clear, sharp and unmarred. There's only one problem: everything is tinted slightly purple. I'm not sure why, but if you can ignore it, it's worth getting.
"House on Haunted Hill" is a deserving vintage horror movie -- a twisty plot, and Price doing his best creepy-might-be-villain act. A must-see.
The Beginning of "Horror".......2007-01-11
When I first saw this movie in a theater as a boy I thought it was the scariest movie ever made. When I watched it again fifty years later I found it initially trite, but then I realized why the 1999 remake paid such tribute to Vincent Price. It had many firsts in it's genre, and what it didn't do first it did best (generally). It set the benchmark for "Horror" and wasn't surpassed in fright by anything other than "Splatter-Flicks" until the evolution of computer animation. This is where it began.
"Watch it with someone with warm hands!".......2006-12-06
HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL is a movie I'd heard a lot about, but had never gotten around to watching. So when I saw it in the one dollar DVD bin, this was an easy decision to make. The nice thing about one dollar DVDs is that even when I've been told very positive things about a film, only spending a buck on it means that I almost never raise my expectations very high. Therefore, when I come across a genuinely good film, I'm always pleasantly surprised. And I'm happy that HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL is my kind of 50s horror film. Camp and goofy, yet atmospheric and creepy when it needs to be.
The plot is very simple. Frederick Loren (Vincent Price) offers five strangers $10,000 each if they'll spend the night with himself and his wife in a supposed haunted house. At midnight the doors are locked until morning. If anyone dies during the night, their share is split between the survivors. It's a game for Price. He's picked these individuals carefully, and it apparently amuses him to blow fifty grand on a macabre dinner party. As with most films that put a small cast into an enclosed set, the characters here are very distinct and have hidden motivations that gradually become revealed.
The characters are introduced via an extremely campy voice-over at the start, courtesy of Vincent Price. (Not that I've ever noticed Vincent Price giving voice-overs that weren't purring and campy.)
Watson Prichard (Elisa Cook, who guested-starred in dozens of 1950s and 1960s TV shows) is currently the owner of The House On Haunted Hill (having inherited it from his murdered brother... murdered in the house, of course) and is a nervous, tense, borderline alcoholic, who permanently seems to be on the edge of a complete mental breakdown (which is the type of character Elisa Cook always seems to play). His role is basically to predict doom for everyone in the house based on the old stories of the murders and misdeeds that occurred there before.
Lance Schroeder is a test pilot and the nominal hero of the story. He progress through the story in a typical let's-get-to-the-bottom-of-this fashion. His love-interest (every hero needs one) is Nora Manning, a secretary for one of Vincent Price's many companies. Psychiatrist David Trent and middle-aged journalist Ruth Bridges provide the movie's voices of reason.
Vincent Price's wife is also locked in the house with the others. Her character is notable simply because of the vast contempt husband and wife hold for each other. Indeed, in their opening scene, the two of them wistfully banter about their previous unsuccessful assassination attempts on each other. Great stuff!
The movie is formulaic, but fun. You know what kinds of things to expect from a closed-set scenario such as this. The "game" will be revealed to be deadly early on when the first person meets an untimely end. The number of characters will slowly be whittled down to the most interesting few. At least one character will be overwhelmingly convinced that all the death and destruction is caused by the supernatural. At least one other character will calmly explain that there must be a rational explanation for all the ghoulish happenings.
Whether the terror is otherworldly or man-made is mostly irrelevant in movies such as this. All you really want is good atmosphere, a collection of some solid, scary scenes and a plot that moves quickly enough from point A to point B before you notice any of the tape holding the story strands together.
In this, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL is very much a success. I liked it so much that I was able to forgive its truly horrendous false ending (which gave way to an even more abysmal true ending).
There are probably a thousand DVD releases of this film. The Digiview release has an adequate picture, but the sound quality is a little annoying. It's sounds very tinny, as if the soundtrack were rerecorded in a cookie jar. I got used to it after a while though.
HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL is exactly the kind of movie you make when you have no money but are hoping to make the best of it. If you can't afford a lot of elaborate sets, just have one location and shut it off from the outside world. If you can't afford a lot of on-screen talent, just get a few character actors to hang out with Vincent Price for an evening. If you can't afford flashy special effects, just get a witty and quotable script. It doesn't work every time, but it works here.
A great movie for Halloween........2006-10-29
If you're looking for a true scare, then look no further than this movie. I like movies that give nightmares, and this one is no acception. Vincent Price is a legend and this movie proves it. This movie has everything, from screams, to all sorts of scares. Highly recommended.

Customer Reviews:
Good old fashion Hip-hop comedy.......2007-02-21
I had seen the film when it first debuted back in 1990, and enjoyed it quite a bit, but looking back today, it's hard for me to divorce myself from a certain nostalgia for the look, sound and feel of the urban scene of 1990, when I was as deep into the music as I would ever be. Although this movie doesn't really feature artists on the cutting edge of hip hop of the day, and Kid N Play would come to be known more for their appearance in the House Party movies than anything they ever did as recording artists, there is still a beauty in the way the dialogue is presented and in the fashion of the young African-American teenagers that keeps it interesting for those that embrace such things.
Obviously, at the center of the film is a house party, where the high school clique gets together for some fun, dancing, a little drinking, and a little romance. The gist of the story is that Kid (Reid), a hyperactive high schooler with an enormous high-top fade hair style, is grounded for misdeeds in school, but he still manages a way to sneak out and join the fun. Some of the emphasis is on the romantic connections that will form between two of the girls there, Sidney (Campbell, Little Shop of Horrors) and Charane (Johnson, Dying Young), which Kid (Martin) and his best friend, Play, seem to be vying for. Meanwhile, the high school bullies (Full Force) that got Kid in trouble to begin with are on the prowl for him, while everyone must overcome overzealous cops, whiny neighbors, and maintaining a rep among the peers.
Although it was a modest hit when it was released, the enduring legacy of House Party is that it would eventually set the trend for nearly every party film that would come after it (Can't Hardly Wait is one prime example). It is also refreshing because it plays to its intended audience, but never speaks down to it, nor does it exclude people that aren't part of the scene it portrays from enjoying it. Unlike many other films which featured African-American casts of the time, it doesn't beat you over the head with forced positive messages, and conversely, it is mostly devoid of gangster drama, drugs, or serious crime that usually rear their ugly heads whenever an all-Black cast emerges ina Hollywood film. While there is some very subtle commentary on the nature of police suspicion of Blacks, safe sex, and drinking, they never veer into contrived melodrama, and in fact, they add a good deal of humor to the proceedings without seeming anything like a public service announcement. Other than that, it's a great movie to add on into your collection.
This film stands the test of time!.......2006-03-14
I am not ashamed to admit that I was 26 years old when this movie first came out...and I loved it! I still love this movie...especially knowing that many of the actors were my age when they were filming!
My sons, now in high school also love this movie. The music and the moves, but they do have fun making jokes about the clothes. It was a movie that really tapped into young African-American's and their high school, hip hop world. The Hudlin's were indeed influrenced by Cooley High, but so what! That was a great influence. I also love the messages that are placed in the movie without beating you over the head. Safe sex, no drinking, being there for your friends...even if it means leaving them on their porch while you take their dj equipment.
Frankly I can't imagine Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff in this movie. By using Kid n Play, everybody in the movie WERE friends! This made it believable.
My son's favorite show of "good friends" are the "fellas" taking Groove home because he he was drunk, propped him against the front door, ring the doorbell, cut and RUN!!!!
So, find those leather medalions, bicycle shorts and work on your high top fade, this is a must see movie.
Wave your hands in the air, everybody! .......2006-01-09
I am not ashamed to say that this was not a horrible film. Upon finishing this film, I did a bit of research on it and discovered that this pioneer film (prior to the sequels) was actually a favorite among Sundance goers in 1990. Apparently it racked up quite a bit of awards in the "drama" category. While I must say that it was enjoyable to go back to this type of cinema, you know, the parents are away so the kids will play scenario, but I didn't think this was the best this genre had to offer. Director Reginald Hudlin created this film for his thesis at Harvard as well as a benchmark for DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Price, so how did he finally end up with Kid & Play? While I did think that Kid did a decent job with his character, which couldn't have been too far from himself, Play offered nothing new to the film. Martin Lawrence continued to be the most annoying character in the film, while the love interests were clichéd from the start. The music was fun, the dancing was laughable, and the police officers were racist ... so does that make for Sundance winning cinema? Personally, there were elements that needed tightened and some that were great the way they were. It wasn't the best film, but House Party did provide for an hour and a half of dusty memories.
The characters were both a high point and the low point of the film. House Party is a classic example of great starting characters that eventually dwindle away before the film officially ends. I thought that Kid did a decent job of being a humorous element, while Play coupled with Martin Lawrence's character were just overly annoying. I couldn't get attached to either of them. It was obvious that Lawrence was working towards his character for his television show Martin throughout this entire film. If you watch his television show and this film you will draw similar comparisons. Play cannot act, and throughout this film it becomes apparently clear that his only true talent was acting because he even looses in the infamous rap competition. Tisha Campbell and AJ Johnson couldn't have been more cliché. I say this with the warmest sympathies, but their characters had no depth, no originality, and carried nothing more than eye candy for the two male leads. Women are handed these roles all the time, there are some that stand forward and say that they demand characters with more personality, but then you also have women like this that needed the paycheck. Thinking back on the cast of this film, I do believe that Hudlin could have put more thought into everyone. If you first pick is not available, there is no need to immediately jump to the bottom of the barrel. Be patient, the best could be right in front of you. The film is worth watching for Kid, his expression in his eyes and face is immaculate, but for the rest, I have watched commercials with better character development.
What about this story? The story was an extremely simple set up. High schoolers trying to go out on a school night to the dance party of the century get caught up in a web of trouble only to discover that what they think is important to them isn't necessarily true. Also, true love lurks around the corner in the darkest of spaces. Does this sound like a familiar Hollywood recycled plot to you? To me it does, but what this film does which takes it out of the recycle bin category is the urban themes that Hudlin ignites. While I thought that your typical film would have centered on a love affair, this urban film instead revolved around Kid trying to be a better lyricist. While some will argue that love is the central focus of this film, I saw his desire to be a better performer to the ultimate moment for our character. In nearly all of his scenes he is attempting to finally be the best at his rap game, and finally, even in the jail cell, he proves that he can handle himself with the best. I liked this focus. I liked seeing Kid evolve throughout the film. What I didn't like, and thought was completely trashy, was the racial undertones that Hudlin threw in the mix. The white police officer jokes were not funny. I thought the point where they took the bullies to the docks and beat them was completely uncalled for and ruined the light tone of this film. Was that funny? This reviewer wasn't laughing at all.
Overall, I thought this was a decent film. I have no doubt in my eyes that the sequels that were spun do not carry the overall excitement that was conveyed in this first film, but for now, House Party was a light, enjoyable film that christened a new range of actors into the Hollywood circuit. Could one safely say that this was the first film to introduce rappers as actors? I haven't seen enough films to make that assumption, but I wouldn't mind making a wager. This is a historical film, but not one that can be watched over and over again. The language seemed a bit strong for the levity of the film, but outside of the key points where Hudlin failed (Lawrence role, white officers, cliché women), I thought that this film quietly fell into place by the end. It reminded me of some of the Feldman/Haim match-ups with an urban flair.

And what a party.......2005-11-18
This movie is hilarious, I would suggest for anyone who loves comedy and originality to be buy the 1st three of House Party.
The fourth isn't as funny but it has potential.
let kids have fun.......2005-10-24
Kid has gotten into a fight at school cause of a bully calling his mother the "H" word Kid got suspended for that. The school sent a letter to his father about the suspension when his father saw the letter he said Kid could not go to his friend name Play's party but could you blame Kid he did the right thing cause his mother is dead and it's wrong to talk about a dead relative. Kid decided to go to the party anyway while his father was asleep, later on eventually the dad woke up found out Kid went to the party so he went after him.

Based on a true story and Winner of Best Feature Film at Toronto Film Festival and Gen Art Film Festival, Paul Kaye (Best Actor, U.S. Comedy Arts Festival) stars as Frankie Wilde, the legendary British DJ and musical mastermind of the underground club scene whose career is cut down at its pinnacle by unthinkable tragedy - the loss of his hearing. Darkly funny and inspirational, with fierce performances by both Kaye and Kate Magowan ("24 Hour Party People"), as his sex-crazed Mrs.,you'll laugh and gasp but cheer him on as he struggles out of the abyss to reclaim his life and reputation.

REQUIEM FOR A SONG.......2007-05-21
IT'S ALL GONE PETE TONG is an absolute stunner. The central character has varied interests, substantial amount of money to blow on women, family, alcohol and drugs. He is at his best when he is the center of attention; scenes in the film make you want to cheer him. There is one seen in the film which is almost the MOST disturbing 2 minutes I have seen in a long time. This movie is what you and I wait for all year. My favourite scene in the film involves the central character (F.W) and the time he discovers his own worthlessness without ears. Massively inspiring. The kind of film one quotes. Amazing cause it has an Aviator like charm to offset your heart in it's own profound yet not so humble discourse.
I love it!.......2007-03-10
Guys,
this movie wasn't exported to Italy but I watched it on the flight Milan - Miami...it was incredible! I bought it on Amazon because the feeling of the Dj deaf playing and hearing the music with the human contact of the foots, with a Mac exploding the audio waves, has no words to be described!
Instantly into my "top 10" all time!.......2006-11-05
It's All Gone Pete Tong is excellent from first to last scene. Paul Kaye is amazing. It's a movie that should be seen multpile times- it gets better and better. Besides just having a great story line and premise, the direction is great, the use of music and sound creates lasting emotion. The way they edit the sound to toggle between Frank's deafness and what is just normally happening from scene to scene is so well done that you'd have to concentrate on how they do it to understand it, because it flows so seemlessly and naturally to let the viewer feel what he's going through. This movie is funny, dramatic, original and so well made in every aspect that I would recommend it to everyone. Own this movie and pass it on- people will thank you.
What could be more IRONIC than a deaf DJ?.......2006-10-06
Consumers love IRONY! I can sum up this film in one sentence: DJing, drugs, hummus and sex...silence...newfound appreciation for life. What makes this film great is not the fact that Frankie Wilde does drugs, rather, its HOW he does drugs (see it and you'll understand what I mean). Same thing with his DJing. The fact that he DJs is well-and-good, but you have to see HOW he DJs (pre- and post-deaf). Frankie is a special character and Paul Kaye nails this role (as he says in the DVD extras, "God, I've waited a long time for this job."). Speaking of DVD extras...WATCH THEM. Frankie the spokesmodel for Oman Whiskey, Frankie on a cooking show, Frankie on an interview with a news anchor, Frankie's Rabbi (played by Paul Kaye), among other gimmicks...classic. In regards to credentials...WINNER GEN ART FILM FESTIVAL, WINNER U.S. COMEDY ARTS FESTIVAL, WINNER TORONTO FILM FESTIVAL. And the soundtrack...exceptional club music. Particularly, Reflekt's "Need to Feel Loved" (Seb Fontaine & Jay P Remix). I guarantee you will RE-WATCH this film over and over again. Maybe you'll even take a step back and have a look at your own life?
Note: THIS FILM IS A WORK OF FICTION. IT IS A "MOCK"UMENTARY. DON'T BE FOOLED. The fact that the directors and actors deliver such a compelling final product, where consumers actually believe it is real, is testament alone that this film is a keeper.
Please feel free to disagree with my opinion; let us compare opinions, invite a few more points of view, and debate, like the humans we are.
A very good, very different movie.......2006-06-11
I've watched this movie twice. The first time I believed the first frame of film which reads something like "This film is based on a true story", something like that. It was hard to watch for me because it brings out a lot of emotions. I sometimes didn't know if I should laugh or feel bad about the guy's situation. Then I read these reviews here on Amazon and saw that someone compared it to Spinal Tap and that it actually is not true at all. I watched it a second time and for some reason knowing that it was not true it really allowed me to just laugh and I did that much more than the first time. The tennis scene with the humus was hilarious and really remined me of Spinal Tap. If you like Spinal Tap you should like this, although this is a lot darker. Just remember that it isn't true.

Customer Reviews:
Stinky man, my name's Stinky........2006-02-03
If you were to ask me how many ways this film transformed into a disaster, I do not believe I would have enough fingers and toes to fully count the ways. From the dreamy beginning of this bland final chapter, until the ending cliché moments, there were probably a million different themes and elements that were utterly pathetic. In fact, I believe that this may be the first film that I have watched which had no redeeming values surrounding it. For any of you that have watched, like myself, the House Party trilogy, there is a level of expectation that follows these films. The first movie set the groundwork. Kid & Play need to get to a party and express themselves lyrically. The sequel finished the shabby generic walls of the house by repeating a similar diagram, while the third film was the demolition team to tear it down. Everything set up from the beginning of this series was destroyed, demolished, decayed, disemboweled by the time that the third installment arrived. We were missing key characters, Kid & Play seemed less excited by this film, and apparently continuity from the second film was not a top priority for director Eric Meza. This film is nothing but trash left in the house for too long. House Party 3 smells, it is attracting too many flies, and mold is the only form of life willing to adapt to it. Sad to see the potentials of a trilogy die because the final film didn't pay respect to its beginnings.
I would like to say that the acting was to blame for such a disappointing ending, but that means I would have to admit to there actually being acting in this film. That is something I am not willing to acknowledge at this time. As our story developed, you could easily see the relief behind Kid & Play's eyes knowing that this was going to be their final jaunt in the House Party line. In fact, you could see the excitement melt away from their characters as the film progressed. It was a headache to watch. Kid was not his typical expression-esque self, but instead, older and more tired? Play was just annoying in this film. Meza decided to completely disregard their passions in the first two films and make them managers instead of performers in this final one. This is what hurt the most, to witness two characters that we have seen grow over time from young idealistic teens ready to lyrically express themselves and go to parties, to old, tired, and boring actors caring less about the music, more about the money, and have the lamest parties imaginable. I thought I would never find myself saying this, but I missed "Pops" from the original. I didn't miss him in the second film, but now seeing this final chapter I missed some of the old faces. This may be the only time you hear me say this, but I missed Martin Lawrence. While I hated his character in the first two films, he was an element missing House Party 3. They tried to cover this by employing Bernie Mac as the annoying Uncle, but it just didn't seem to work. Screaming is not a substitute for acting. Chris Tucker makes a small cameo, and honestly, I could have used more of him. He was a shining bit of light in this dark, damp, disgusting film.
As you read this review, you may find yourself saying, "Andy, you hated the other two films, what made you think this would be any different?" I don't think I was hoping for Oscar nominations, but I did want a strong finale to this trilogy. I worked my way through it, I felt I deserved it. I wanted to see familiar faces, as much as I hated them, I wanted to see a familiar plot (however generic and repetitive it was to be), and I wanted to see a union between two familiar characters, instead of throwing in a random stranger at the end. I feel as if these are very reasonable requests considering nothing lead me to believe this film would end up to be the tragedy it was. After watching this film, no matter how bad it was going to be, I wanted to be able to flip through the channels on TV and see House Party on TBS and find myself reminiscing of the future that I knew. Now, that is never going to happen. If there is one trilogy that I want to put behind me, it is the House Party films. For nearly an hour and a half, we watch unmotivated characters force themselves through cliché urban hip-hop cinema motions. Where were the bad guys? Where were the familiarities of the original films? I hated the first films, but I detested House Party 3. Why bother building a fan base if you are just going to tear it down with the finale. It is somewhat like changing characters midway through a television series. It just doesn't work, and it didn't work in this film.
Overall, this movie was a disaster. While the other two films were never much to write home about, I did want a conclusion. I wanted to finish this series without worrying that there may be more coming around the bend. That was, before I noticed House Party 4 as another sequel. This series should have ended after the first one. House Party is a classic example of what happens when Hollywood notices that small budget films can continue to make money even after they loose their appeal. Take a look at Scary Movie 4 being released soon. Honestly, is it necessary? I do not suggest this film or this entire series. The first one, if you are forced to watch, than watch. Otherwise, don't waste your brain space!
Grade: * out of *****
The last real House Party.......2005-12-01
Unless you count the 4th movie, made a few years ago, 'House Party 3' is the true conclusion to this Kid N' Play comedy series. The good news is that the series goes out with a bang. Too many comparisons have been made between this third film and the first two in the series. However, 'House Party 3' is funny in its own right.
Kid N' Play are back and Kid is getting married. A lot of the movie focuses on all the temptation he faces on the way to his upcoming wedding. Play is one of those helping to tempt Kid. There really isn't a solid story to base the movie around. The bigger picture is that a bachelor party is being planned for Kid. Kid N' Play borrow some money to help fund this party, all the while attempting to sign a rap group, Sex As A Weapon (played by real life group, TLC). The whole movie is centered around this thin storyline.
Some of the supporting cast includes Chris Tucker and Bernie Mac, both of whom went on to bigger and better things. The majority of the characters, including Aunt Lucy, don't contribute to the plot and just happen to be in the vicinity.
Kid N' Play must have knew going in that this would be the last movie in the 'House Party' series. It shows when you are watching this. Nonetheless, there are plenty of laughs. The best supporting characters include Uncle Vester (played by Bernie Mac) and Stinky. While Bernie's character, like many of the others, has little to do with the outcome, he makes the movie much better than it would have been without him.
Kid's dad, played in the first movie by the late Robin Harris, has a cameo as a snapshot. Tisha Campbell reprises her role as Kid's former love interest from earlier in the series. Her role is fairly limited and is just meant to stir the pot a little, adding some tension leading up to the wedding.
The ending is a happy one, a simple party scene involving everyone from the movie together in Kid's house. There was a fourth 'House Party' movie made, but Kid N' Play had nothing to do with it. With the way this one ended, it would really be impossible to do another movie with the same characters. It would be too hard to convince people to come to a 'House Party' thrown by a married man.
This should be a no-brainer for fans of the series. The best thing is that there is a very easy lead-in to 'House Party 3', meaning that you don't need to see the first two from the series to sit down and watch this. However, it is a lot more fun that way. Overall, this is a pretty good black comedy with more than enough funny moments to make this worth at least a rental.
da last house party i am ever going 2 watch and attend .......2005-09-17
this party was getting old because kid and play r now old well in their 20s they don't have enough time 2 fool around and getting into trouble like da first 2 films and tisha campbell isn't in da entire film but chris tucker and benmae mac were very funny u get guess star appearacne from tlc and immature da fourth one i didn't bother watching because it didn't have kid and play because they are now in their 30s too old so but i do see is da r and b group immature not so immature and other people that didn't do anything 2 get my attention of watching this film this was da final house party movie that i watched because of da late cool kid and play and what happened 2 big ear martin l he was surpose 2 b here i saw his replacement which was a guy that almost look like him but had an enough bigger mouth than him but he was kinda of funny Joe Brown
House Party Falls Off.......2005-03-27
This movie was a huge dissapointment. I feel Kid 'N Play peaked with Class Act. House Party I is of course a classic, and I felt it was out done by House Party II (those who say this one is better than that film are our of their minds). This film came out 3 years after that one, so I guess the lack of an immediate follow up may be the first clue that this movie wasn't going to be up to standards. My main beef with this film can probably be contributed to waht was going wrong with hip hop culture at the time it came out. This movie seems slightly more thugged out than the previous House Parties. Those movies had a more pure b-boy feel to them. You can feel the impact of the westcoast gangsta bandwagon in this film. They should've just avoided this and done their own thing reguardless. I doubt this has anything to do with what Kid 'N Play would've wanted, so the blame probably goes on the writer/director/studio. They never got played out as rappers imho. Its just the industry got all messed up by this gangsta bs, and obviously a group with their kind of aesthetic could not surviive. Other things I was dissapointed by was the lack of characters from the earlier two films. Sidney gets a couple of cheap cameos instead of a starring role like she should've had. Other than Kid 'N Play and Pops' photograph, thats all there is that links this to the earlier films. However, Kid 'N Play don't even get a fair shake in this movie because alot of their screen time is stolen by those gimmickly, little midgets, Immature, who I seriously wanted to kick the sh** out of. Bernie Mac, however, is hilarious in this film, as always. Hes one of this film's saving graces. There is also a really funny family dinner scene where the crap hits the fan. Overall though, this movie is boring, unfunny, and lacking the charm of Kid 'N Play's other films. Go check those out instead, only get this one if you're really interested in seeing the duo on screen again.
Hip-Hop Love Boat.......2004-02-03
This movie has a revolving door with LOTS of "characters" who are fun to watch. They must have known the franchise was at an end, and threw in everything but the kitchen sink. No real story to get in the way. But it's fun and can be played (and sort of watched while you read or something) over and over. Why only 4 stars? Because I've been conditioned by The Man who says Citizen Kane is a classic. Yawn. HP 3 is as fun as 1 and 2, if not as "good" by conventional standards of story and character development, or even good laughs. But TLC and Immature and Chris Rock, Bernie Mac and the old guy who says his wife is "MY ho" to Mac, etc... make this one fun. Kick It!

Kid 'n Play (Class Act) return, this time to blow the roof off college life--and Harris University will never be the same!

Pajama Jams pay for College?.......2006-01-22
To begin, House Party 2 is no House Party. In fact, those that would like to compare the two are completely off their hypothetical film "rocker". These are two completely separate films. Do you know why? What originally began as a film about some soulful and youthful teens trying to get to the ultimate dance party has now transformed into this cliché morality tale that demonstrates the power of friendship and the strength of humility. WHAT! Is that why I wanted to watch this film? I apologize, but one of the few reasons that I liked House Party was because they followed the K.I.S.S. method (for those unfamiliar it is the Keep It Simple Stupid method) of filmmaking. In the original, becoming a lyricist, a ladies man, and having the best party in town was the root of the film. While there was a romantic side to the story, it fell second nature to the growing hip-hop scene. It was a dance film first, developed character story second. Honestly, that is what I enjoyed about the film. While I didn't think House Party was the greatest release of the century, it did have this genuine feel about it. In fact, after watching this poorly crafted sequel, I have a bit more respect for the original. Where was the dancing? Where was the creativity? Where was the same Kid & Play that I remembered from the first House Party? They were nowhere to be found in this trashy sequel.
Robin Harris. We all remember him as "Pop" from the original film, but what we do not realize about this humorous comedian is that he subsequently changed the image of the House Party series. In the original, he was this father trying to steer his son into a path of academia instead of rap and parties, in the sequel, he plays a spirit who annoyingly hounds Kid throughout the film with flashbacks from the original. Due to his death, he brings nothing new to the table, yet this entire sequel seems to be focused around those few short words that he used in the first film. I don't mean to be rude, but I never felt that the father was such a big element in the original. I thought that Kid trying to challenge authority to attempt to find himself was the underlying meaning of the original, while in this one it is Kid repressing his true self in hopes to make his dead father happy. Where did the lightness of the original go? I watched House Party 2 thinking that there is a limit that the writers could go without making Kid seem totally whipped by his father's words, but we never hit that limit. Where, anywhere in this film, was Kid trying to find his rap roots? I needed to see a young man still interested in becoming the lyricist that he once desired to be? Why did he have to grow up so fast? In fact, the rap side-story to this film seems to be the negative element. We have gone from loving the genre to completely disrespecting it in one film. Ah, the power of the sequel.
Martin Lawrence was again completely annoying to the point in which I completely tuned him out whenever he spoke. He brought nothing to the story and nothing to the main characters. Lawrence was nothing more than a familiar face for the audience to relate to. In fact, it is that dedication to familiar faces from the original that hurt this sequel. When the ultimate PAJAMA JAM finally does occur (one hour into this short film), we are hit with an barrage of repetitive scenes of aged rappers and comedians from the original who do nothing but repeat their lines, actions, and emotions from the first. While many may enjoy these familiar faces, I felt as if it were a cheap trick used to make me feel more comfortable about the film. If these minor characters had done more than just repeat their lines, than maybe I would have bought into the trick, but instead all I saw were cheap repetitive motions used by writers to fill time. I used the word "repetitive" several times in this paragraph because it demonstrated the annoying repetitive nature of this film and completed my point about using that element as a cheap trick. I hope it worked.
In most television series, especially the cheapened kind, we sometimes hear a laugh track or a sound machine used to create some "zany" or "wacky" sound that lightens the mood and creates the viable laugh point. In House Party 2, I do believe that the sound guy was extremely drunk or possibly working his first day in the booth. There were more sound effects in this film than in a Bobby McFerrin music video. Was this a child's movie or another urban comedy? Neither Kid nor Play could do anything in this film without a "zip zim" or a "whoosh" or a "ding dong" noise happening somewhere in the background. This was a fresh element to the sequel which direly needed to be taken away. There is a chase scene near the end of the film which felt like Pee-Wee Herman choreographed it with all the unsettling sounds that were happening. After the first twenty minutes of this, it because increasingly annoying to the point of insanity.
Overall, this sequel soils the original. The themes were sporadic (i.e. in one instance we are talking about the oppression of the African American, while in the other the directors seem to be building age-old stereotypes), the characters continued towards their bland downward spiral, those annoying, randomly placed racist police officers were back, and the dominating "father" element seemed too serious for the overall theme of this film. I hope this film wasn't an indication of the path of colleges in the future? House Party 3, don't fail me now!

the sequal is better then the original.......2005-10-24
Kid'N'Play are going to college, well just mainly Kid, to leave the world of problems. While there Kid learns the lesson of responsibility....the hard way. Play gives Kid's college money to a beautiful, yet crooked music promoter (Iman). And with Sidney want to see new people, Kid comes to Play with help and come up with a PAJAMA JAM PARTY.
Now that's why this movie is way better then the first one and a little bit more funnier.
almost as good as 1 but isn't because every1 is all grown up .......2005-09-17
i still enjoyed da sequel a lot i miss kid pop he was tough but still cool y did he have 2 die in da movie and in while life da black no hair man from rocky 1 through 5 was here in this movie he plays as kid culinary arts boss kid moves out of his house and goes somewhere 2 college while he has problems from his 2 best friends play and martin l they cause him all kinds of problem which leads kid and play 2 eventually fighting each other in da middle of da film female rapper queen l made her guess appearance and delivered well with big head actress tamisha campbell doing well in both house party movies this movie was very funny at times so i have no complaints about this film at all and this movie features some of da best films of da 90s like da 1st 1 did u wouldn't want 2 miss this sequel because it is another house party classic da only difference is that they are in college partying and still gettin into more trouble than the first 1 Joe Brown

The usual slasher-movie teens charter a boat to attend a rave in Washington's San Juan islands, find zombies there, and splatter their guts all over the place. House of the Dead shows early promise when the boat captain is the dude from Das Boot (Jürgen Prochnow) and the mate is the inimitably weird Clint Howard. Alas, things devolve from there. The movie includes frequent flashes from its video game inspiration, not that we need much reminding of the obvious source. Amongst the rotten dialogue, bad acting, and gratuitous topless scenes, there's one looooong shootout sequence in the middle of the picture that should be the main attraction for fans of this kind of thing. Otherwise, it's at the level of every other slasher movie, video game or no video game, in which stupid people do stupid things to keep themselves in harm's way. --Robert Horton

It's that bad.......2007-05-22
Can't anyone make a good zombie movie outside of the 'Dead' movies? Even some of them are pretty lame. Aside from over endulgence in gore let's talk acting here. Now I know that in these types of movie acting shouldn't matter, but here it is plain bad. Stilted actors and lame dialog.
I usually like a Dead movie, been a fan ever since as a boy it took me 7 tries before I finally made it all the way through the origianl 'Night of the LIving Dead' (which in my opinion is the best of any). But this one was bad.
No sense of logic, the heroes extracate themselves from a 'hopeless' situation near the end oh so easily, and don't get me started on the ending fight sequence. I did like the way she popped the leader's head like a pimple however. Thought that was fun.
Just another in a long line of poorly done movies that should be reserved for Sat afternoon on the SciFi Channel.
LOL.......2007-04-17
I think they should implement a new rating system on amazon for movies. In this system it would implement two scores. one score: viewing while sober, and the other viewing while drunk.
now the one star rating i gave this movie as you see above, is obviously the not drunk rating. what you get here is one of the most nonsensical shoddy sloppy ridiculous movies of all time. uwe boll sucks at directing, i dont care how mad he gets or how many people he challenges to a boxing match (notice he weeds out the challengers so he only faces unexperienced fighters). i cant stand these quick cut fast moving hey we are in a music video like sequences that holywood is putting in movies nowadays. and this movie is choke full of those. not to mention horrid acting, horrid dialogue, and a story line that just plain says suck!!!!
now, if you watch this movie drunk (i do not condone the abuse of alcohol in any way) (unfortunatly i think watching this movie sober might actually be more dangerous to your health that alcohol is) then i shall give this movie 5 stars. seriously. gather a bunch of your friends, grab a 6 pack of beer or what ever you drink, and watch away. seriously, i believe this movie would be the greatest episode of mystery science theater 3000 EVER... absolutly wild and zany fun is to be had of this...
ps: this trick only works with this movie. all other uwe boll movies have been made to suck in all ways, drunk or sober....alone in the dark....cries...
I'm the most generous..........2006-12-06
I'll start by saying that I do agree with most of the reviewers here, the movie was really bad. One of the stars I gave is for the good looking cast, unfortunately they can't act at all. Only at the beginning of the movie there are a few moments that makes you jump reason why I gave another star (2 in total), but after that, the movie gets ridiculous, no action, no good video effects (they ran out of $$ I bet) bad acting gets even more stupid, the fighting is horrendous, and the scenes of the game included in the movie don't help at all, instead they make it worst. At the end I was laughing so much, not because it's a good funny movie, but because I could not believe I was watching such an idiotic movie that I spent $8.00 to own. That been said, the only reason to watch it, is to laugh while you discover all the fails and lacks in directing, acting, editing, etc
Wow!.......2006-11-27
Zombie film - lots of slow-moving dead people. Annoying heroes. Only semi-annoying (because very good-looking and under-dressed) heroines.
Zombies, kill zombies! Wow!
somehow..........2006-11-25
you must understand, there is no good reason to like this film other than mindless entertainment value. There are so many plot holes and just all around weak points that it's not even worth mentioning.
Then, in the action scenes they insist on putting a "matrix spin" with the camera around anyone who fires a shot... after every shot! I'd say that if it wasn't for that it would have been helluva lot more entertaining, that just made it a lot worse and in my opinion, the images and action were the only reason anyone would ever watch this.
if you are looking for something to pass the time with some friends, somehting to make a fwe drinking games out of, then go for it. it's fun, nothing more.

BAD-BAD-BAD-AWFUL- Down To The Last.......2007-05-15
BAD-BAD-BAD.... Down to the last second! It's time for Hollywood and everyone else involved in this stinker of a fiasco to JUST LET IT GO! The House Party legacy didn't deserve to be desecrated like this movie does.
Poor scripting, (or shall I say the lack thereof) coupled with awful acting (in some cases OVER acting) Makes for 79 minutes of pure GARBAGE, I've seen pigs eating better slop than this. What a complete waste of time and $$$.... Save yours!!! .......I threw mine away! ......But after one viewing I did the same to this DVD.
very low budget movie.......2007-01-11
this has to one of the most corniest made-for T.V. movies ever. The acting is horrible, the actors are well known people but they definently were not on point in this movie. I also hated that corny classical ballad that kept on playing throughout the movie. Overrall, A VERY BAD MOVIE!!
You are invited to Ferris Bueller's House Party. Wanna come?.......2006-02-25
Sometimes it is funny to watch films implode from your couch, but other times it is just horribly painful to both your eyes and your mind. House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute is one of those rare examples of when both your eyes and your mind are pleading with you to turn the film off. This final installment to the House Party series (which, honestly, ended after the first film) is by far the worst, not just sequel, but film released by Hollywood. It becomes very apparent early on in this "feature" that director Chris Stokes loved Ferris Bueller's Day Off with a passion. I say this because it becomes very clear that Stokes had no trouble lifting the originality of Bueller off John Hughes' hands and choosing to create a film completely void of humor. You would think that by "stealing" themes and images from a funnier film, your own film would at least be able to generate a giggle or two. With House Party 4, Stokes proved that he does not have what it takes to direct a sequel, much less a Hollywood film. From his confusing and choppy story, the inability to make sense of his characters, and recycled old/tired cliché moments, all Stokes is doing is hitting a bigger nail into the coffin that holds the House Party films. It reminds me of that student that forgets about his project due in an hour and quickly slops together super glue, macaroni, cat hair, chewing gum, and straws and presents it as "Hannibal Crossing the Alps". It just looks horrible and you feel embarrassed for the creator.
So, where did this film first take the plunge into the realm of comic stupidity? Honestly, I do not think that most places will allow me to speak that long, so instead I would like to hit upon some of the larger topics that hit me the hardest. To begin, I still cannot shake the Ferris Beuller rip-off. It was as if director Stokes was ashamed of having to direct another sequel to House Party and decided to bring in a completely random formula (from a funnier film) and see if he could cut and paste elements from the original series into that formula. That was a huge mistake. When a director tries to do this, what eventually happens is confusion within the audience. We think that we are going in one direction, but instead we head in another one. That is exactly what you can witness in House Party 4. In one instance we have John-John trying to have the "biggest party of the decade" while also trying to score a record deal (ok, kinda reminds me of the original House Party), but then we whisk away to this random island where Uncle Charles is afraid of flying, Grandma gets drunk, and some idiotic mind-dulling moments with a supposed killer. Again, we begin somewhat strong, and end chaotic. This is the confusion in which I speak. Director Stokes did not have the ability to keep his hand on either the pulse of humor or the ability to tell a sequential story. He would rather cut corners, keep the jokes cheap, and think that the audiences are idiots than attempt to revive a stone-dead series. One would think that when a director was handed that task of filming another House Party film he would walk into it thinking that he/she would be the one to revive it or bring it back to life, instead Stokes just wanted to get paid.
I realize that I am slowly growing older as the days go quickly by, but I do believe I still keep my hand in the younger generation's culture. I listened to rap and R&B growing up, but the group "Immature" never made it to either my cassette deck or my CD player. Why? I don't think they ever quite had a following, but apparently to director Chris Stokes, it would be beneficial to cast them as leads in his new House Party film. Didn't anyone at any studio realize that this was going to be in the red rather quickly? Or how about the option to have Stokes himself play the comedic car repairman, nothing like a director with no sense of comic timing casting himself as the only source of possible humor. It was one of those few instances when I actually missed Robin Harris, and I never thought I would find myself saying that to any film. Outside of a go-nowhere band playing the lead role, I also thought that the remainder of the cast only continued to suck the life out of this film. Uncle Charles was annoying when he attempted humor. Kim Whitely was completely wasted for her scenes (both literally and figuratively) while ... well ... everyone else pretty much falls into that category. The acting, I believe, was found at the bottom of a Cracker Jack box.
Where did Chris Stokes spend most of the budget for this film? Not for special guest stars because while this film may have boasted some, there were definitely none present at the "unforgettable" House Party, nor the possible dream that perhaps Kid or Play would make one final appearance. House Party 4 followed no preset design, which ultimately ruined this feature from the foundation down. Can anyone explain to me why there was any need to use the "escaped murderer who happened to be a licensed taxicab driver" routine for humor? Stokes was reaching deep within the bottom of the barrel and only produced more muck instead of substance. For once I can admit to there being no redeeming value to this film. House Party 4 buried the series, and while I do hear that there may be more in the pipeline, I only hope Hollywood realizes that this series has died. Hollywood needs to let this series end, forget about the past and move forward in the future. I think a sequel to Who's the Man? would get them started in the right direction.
YUCK!
