This DVD is filled with three fantastic episodes of the fun Arthur series. I'm 11, but I still enjoy watching Arthur, this DVD was one I especially love to watch. The three episodes are: The Rat Who Came to Dinner, The Long Dull Winter and The Blizzard.

The Rat Who Came To Dinner: When Mr. Ratburn's Roof falls in, Arthur's parents let him stay at their house; much to Arthur's dismay. They end up having fun together, but what will arthur's classmates think?
The Long Dull Winter: Time seems like it's standing still in lakewood city, but will a new holiday cheer them up?
The Blizzard: Arthur was hoping for snow, but what he got was a blizzard. The families pull together in this time of need, and learn what it was like for the Pioneers.

Once I put this DVD in the player, I watched it over, and over again. I guarantee you'll want to do the same thing!

I LOVE THIS SHOW. . ITS SOO CUTE AND AMANDA BYNES IS HILLARIOUS!!! ITS FUNNY I JUST STARTED THE SERIES AND I BELIEVE HAS BEEN AROUND FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW BUT JUST DISCOVERED THE REPEATS AIRED ON THE NEW CW18 IN ORLANDO FOR ABOUT A MONTH. IM SOO HOOKED ON THIS SHOW I RECORD IT BECAUSE IM ALWAYS WORKING AT THE TIME IT AIRS ON TELEVISON. I LOOK FORWARD TO VIEWING WHEN I GET HOME. Amanda An Amazingly Funny Girl.......2006-11-10

Had it not been for my kids watching The Amanda Show on satellite tv I would not have caught an episode of the Amanda Show and found out why they were always laughing so hard. I have to admit that her comedic timing and facial expressions are truly entertaining and off the wall. Amanda is an inspiration to my youngest daughter, who hopes to carry as much spunk and charisma as Amanda does. It's good to see that good clean fun is still being offered these days and I would highly recommend these DVDs for family viewing and a hardy escape from the work-a-day world into hilarious hijinx.

GOSH DARNED BRILLIANT!!!! .......2006-01-17

OK, OK, I'm twenty three years old. I was introduced to this show, via my friend's four year old daughter, but now I watch it for my own enjoyment purposes. The show is hillarious, the best thing to come out of Nickelodeon since You Can't Do THat On Television, which is greatly missed I might add... when are they going to release that on DVD?
First of all Amanda Bynes is a cute teen chick, without all the BS surrounding her, like dear, does she have a studio album yet? I don't think so! She has a very lively persona, that is perfect to center this sketch comedy show for kids around. Good crazy fun. Instead of selling sex, she sells fart jokes and country hick-billy jokes, very well. Her numerous recurring characters are all a bunch of fun, and the supporting cast is also very talented, the Drake and Josh kids are pretty hip as well in their own show. Great for kids of all ages.

P.S> to the kids who don't remember You Can't DO That On Television, I'm very sorry. Nickelodeon stopped airing it about twelve years ago, but it was the most rock and roll show ever! Anyway, The Amanda Show doesn't air new shows either, I'm well aware... but at least there are still repeats and a DVD. I am happy to know that there are still hip shows for kids, because I really get scared sometimes for the future crop of kids, and a pussified, saturated world.

I seen What I like about you, the show is compared to The Gilmore Girls, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Related. Val and Holly are like Lorelai and Rory Gilmore and Buffy and Dawn Summers. Jennie Garth has the greatest resemblance of The O.C.'s Mischa Barton. Amanda Bynes has the greatest resemblance of 7th Heaven Jessica Biel, Katie Holmes and The O.C.'s Rachel Bilson. Tom Cruise can mistake her for Katie Holmes. I always think Amanda Bynes should of married Tom Cruise not Katie Holmes. Nick Zano has the greatest resemblance of Angel's David Boreanaz. Vince and Holly are like Buffy and Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Wesley Jonathan is compared to Will Smith. If he ever did an action movie he would done Bad Boys, better than him. Leslie Erin Grossman is compared to Urma Thurman. That's no lie, she really does look like Urma Thurman. Allison Munn has the greatest resemblance of Paris Hilton and Grammy award winner Christina Aguilera. Dan Cortese looks like N'Sync Lance Bass. Tell you the truth Justin Timberlake can mistake him for Lance Bass, that is no joke. Lauren and Tina are like the cynical and worried best friends of Val and Holly. Amanda Bynes might someday win an Oscar anytime soon. If she did, she never forget where she came from. If Amanda Bynes ever was on Buffy, she probably would have gone for Angel or Spike. If Amanda Bynes was on American Pie, she probably would have gone for Steve Stifler. Amanda Bynes has whole new road to go through. Jennie Garth looks like she was eighteen or ninteen. Even though she is 33 she looks like she looks like she was eighteen or ninteen than 33. Amanda Bynes might be ninteen she looks like she was 24 or 25.

Anything can happen on a snow day. So it's too bad the winter's been unseasonably warm, and there's nothing that Chevy Chase--weatherman and father of three--can do about it. But what if it miraculously snowed enough to close the school? Perhaps the oldest son would have a chance to date the most popular girl in school, his sister might have more time to play with him, their mother would act more like a mom and less like a workaholic, and Chase might even be given the chance to be a respected meteorologist who didn't have to wear stupid costumes on the TV news. When the snow does fall, these dreams slowly transform into reality, of course. There are no big surprises in Snow Day, and children will enjoy its genial jokes and good-natured slapstick. Adults may get a kick out of Iggy Pop's portrayal of an ice rink manager who plays nothing but wonderfully unpopular Al Martino songs. Chris Elliott (Get a Life) also has a small role as "the creepy guy with a plow" who, because he plows the streets, is the enemy of snow day lovers everywhere. A Must for Pete and Pete Fans.......2006-06-03

This movie isn't over the top spectacular, nor is it the greatest movie ever made. But for those of you who are big fans of the television series The Adventures of Pete and Pete, this really is a must see. This film was originally conceived and written to be a P&P motion picture, and many of the elements are still there... You just have to be a big enough fan to spot them :) Big Pete's signature narration is present through the character of Hal Brandston, and Natalie Brandston seems to be doing the job of taking on the International Adult Conspiracy (although, admittedly, she is no Little Pete). Many actors from P&P are present (Iggy Pop, Chris Elliott, and Damian Young), and some characters as well. Wayne Pardue became Wayne Alworth, and Bill Korn became... Well, Bill Korn. Gone is the signature soundtrack of bands such Polaris or Apples in Stereo, and watered down is the surrealism and trash talking (although Hal does call someone a "blow hole")... But if you take it like it is, you just might have a blast pointing out what has been kept in tact :)

Good For A Snowy Day.......2006-02-12

This movie was originaly released in 2000 but I only just got the chance to see it now, six years later. I can't believe how young Josh Peck was back then. It hasn't really been that long and he currently looks like he's ready to graduate from high school! Then again with his acting career sky-rocketing he probably should, if he hasn't already. They were also lucky enough to get (gasp!) Chevy Chase and Chris Elliott! I love Chase because of the National Lampoon's Vacation movies. The main reason I'm writing this however is because of the minds behind it. It was co-written and co-produced by Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi, the same ones responsible for The Adventures Of Pete & Pete, which would explain it's dark legend based humor (i.e. Snowplow Man, evil killer of snow days everywhere), and kids in charge/ adults left in the dust (snow?) nature. Infact I wouldn't be surprised if this started out as a planned series, perhaps The Adventures Of Hal & Nat, (they were the main characters), with "Snow Day" being the first episode. Which reminds me, two Pete & Pete actors returned for Snow Day. Iggy Pop (Mr. Mecklenburg) is now Mr. Zellweger the owner of the ice skating rink and Damian Young (Bus Driver Stu Benedict) is Principal Weaver, who is consantly being attacked with snowballs. I have found many other Pete & Pete overtones in Snow Day as well. How many can you find? Surprisingly I only gave this three stars while I scored Pete & Pete a perfect five. Snow Day is pretty good but not as good as I thought it would be. It's good for a deep snowy day if you want to stay inside. Grab a hot coco make yourself comfortable and enjoy. You're sure to get a good laugh. (Update 1/17/07) Here's irony for you, I just found out that this was originaly planned to be the Pete & Pete movie. I suppose this would explain the show's overtones through out the movie.

Rockin Movie.......2005-12-16

I really like this moviw for 2 reasons:
A: It catches the atmospere of a real snow day!
B: I love some of the humor.
Of course, this movie had it's downs, including close-ups of rotten teeth, pretty stupid stop motion sequence, and the romance....
Also, the target audience is not known. I'm still not sure who the main charicter is...

when i bought the amanda show i got it in a box set containing the 1 and 2 volumes! the best sketches are stranded,cookie dooper,the girls room. but the greatest of all time sketces are

I seen Amanda Bynes sketch from Moody's Point, it was amazing. The show is compared to Dawson's Creek and The O.C. Amanda Bynes character Moody is compared to Dawson's Creek Joey Potter and The O.C.'s Marisa Cooper. Amanda Bynes is compared to Dawson's Creek' Katie Holmes, 7th Heaven Jessica Biel and The O.C.'s Rachel Bilson. I asked for both Amanda Show DVDs for Christmas, and I actually got them. My family thinks the show is obnoxious, but I absolutely adore them. There are so many great episodes, bloopers, and behind-the-scenes footage, you can't help but watch it over and over again.

I was urtely shocked of this!!!! I've never heard of Amanda being on vhs. I sure hope she gets to be on DVD or has already ( I'll go check) Wow its amazing that its been years and still didn't know of this... I rate it about 3 stars cause one I haven't seen it on the actual VHs/ DVD release. My favorite part was Penelope Tyant. I actually believed they were two different people. x.x
