"Jackie Mason is Like Chocolate.".......2007-04-18
I had the privilege of speaking to Mr. Mason the other day and this precipitated my attempt to thoroughly check out his oeuvre. I'll try to review whatever films I am able to get a hold of. As for this Comedy Trilogy, the first part isn't purely a performance video, but a documentary about Jackie's life that features quite a few comedic segments along with a great many interviews with his relatives and celebrities who know him. The thing I liked best about the special was the old clips from the sixties from The Ed Sullivan and Steve Allen shows. Seeing him as a young up-and-coming comic was great. The second part showcases his stand-up act in Israel. The stuff on sexual harassment was absolutely classic. The third part is a video of his acceptance speech for an award from the Oxford University Debating Society. His ability to answer questions about things like racial stereotyping was particularly impressive. Mason seems to give each audience a unique kind of shtick.
Great Gift.......2007-01-11
I bought this for a friend of mine and he throughly enjoyed it. He raves that he misses his kind of humor, dry and smart. Looks like I'm going to have to purchase a copy for myself.
This DVD is excellent.......2006-01-12
The first part of the trilogy, "An Equal Opportunity Offender," includes a biography of Jackie Mason, which is quite interesting, presenting a lot of information about him that I didn't know before. The second part, "In Israel," is a video of his comedy performance in Israel, and it's so funny that I was crying with laughter at several points. In the third part, "On Campus," the comic performs briefly before an audience at Oxford University, then he has a chance to demonstrate his intelligence and quick wit as he fields questions from students. Although this part repeats much of the second part, it's still high quality. One warning: Mr. Mason speaks rapidly with a heavy accent, and the microphone is not always close enough to him, especially in part two, so at times it's difficult to understand what he's saying. But that should not deter anyone from enjoying this DVD.

I cannot use this disk because after about 5 minutes of playing the picture breaks up into digits. I really would like my money back.
Three In One.......2005-03-28
If you are a Jackie Mason fan this a particularly attractive album. The CD really contains three complete presentations. The first is an excellent documentary telling the story of Jackie's meteoric rise and fall...both at the hands of a malevolent nacisistic Ed Sullivan. More gratifying is his amazing return after presenting a one man show in Hollywood thrity years after the "demise" of his first carear. Then there are appearances in London and Israel. Both display his remarkable acerbic wit as well as his mastery of current events as well as that hilarious talent as a historical revisionist.
