James Coburn as Derek Flint is as cool as the other side of the pillow. In any situation Flint will prevail with his all encompassing knowledge of seemingly any subject. "The Catalog of Cool" rated these as the coolest movies ever made!
I am extremely happy to have them both in a set on DVD. You will not be dissapointed.

Here he's totally unflappable as he thwarts mad scientists who control the weather--and an island of pleasure drones. Lee J. Cobb costars as Flint's flustered superior, and Edward Mulhare plays a British nemesis with snob appeal. For fans of Austin Powers, incidentally, the funny-sounding phone comes from the Flint films. Our Man Flint......No 007.......2006-02-25

Our Man Flint is likeable. James Coburn is lacking the sophistication and suaveness that can only be the credentials of the one and only Sean Connery as James Bond. Coburn is good at what he does and he never lets anyone down. There is always plenty of action. It is not quite as intense as the car chases and death-defying stunts that James Bond not only attempts, but succeeds in making Spectre (007's bad guys) look and feel quite foolish. This is good entertainment. The language is bearable. Not a lot of advanced swear words. It is an appropriate length. Not a drawn out plot going nowhere situation. The clarity, color, and sound are amazing. I recently just purchased my first DVD/VCR and these three things really impress me. Although not as a polished as 007 it is still a very good movie. In the end the good guys win, and isn't that all we want anyway?

Coburn = Cool.......2006-02-04

For some reason I thought this film and In Like Flint were packaged together on one DVD. I like them both and don't agree that In Like Flint is as bad as some reviewers think (or maybe they simply mean it fails by comparison with Our Man Flint). Coburn is the essence of cool, and this film is a "cool" parody of James Bond films (not a "hot" one, to use the distinction made by Marshall McLuhan). It's not meant to be fall down funny like Austin Powers (which took as much from Derek Flint as from James Bond).

Think instead The Man from Uncle, Honey West and the '60s spy craze (later replaced during TV's heavy-handed obsession with "gritty" crime and cop shows). It's easy to pass over '60s films like this that are packaged in budget, no-frills versions with no extras, but don't miss the Flint films and Coburn's classic cool.

i saw these films when i was little and they hold up even better today than i had hoped. james coburn was such a cool guy that he didn't need a gun just a lighter. do your self a favor if you love bond watch this film and you will love it

Okay. Imagine a suave cross between James Bond and Spock. Now make him utterly unpatriotic and self centered. Funny, funny stuff, and much better than Austin Powers.
