He just might need it.......2006-09-11
I might try to kill his a** for dropping this trash. I saw this garbage not too long ago and this is by far the worst stand up comedy I ever saw. Jamie Foxx is a talented actor and thats just about it. I didnt laugh one time and I was half drunk watching this. I cant believe he actually gets paid for this. I should be paid for watching this s***. Amazon really needs to bless us with a zero star option because it is most needed.
Not funny.......2006-07-12
Jamie Foxx is very talented AS AN ACTOR, but he does not even hold a candle to the top comedians.
If you watched this and thought it was funny, then do yourself a favor and see more stand-up comedians. Foxx's routine gets put to shame by the big names in the industry.
If you are just a Jamie Foxx fan and want to see him perform, then by all means by this DVD. But if you are searching for a quality comedic routine that you can laugh at, look elsewhere.
Not Funny.......2006-01-08
I was very disappointed with this show. Having read the reviews I decided to buy the dvd, now I feel cheated. The jokes are weak, his inaccurate depiction of Africa and his off-the-mark African accent were more annoying than amusing. Jamie was crude, disgusting and even more disappointingly, not funny at all. He will look back at this and feel acknowlege that it wasn't his best performance. He had such good material to base his jokes on but he flopped quite badly. I do not recommend this dvd at all.
Racist Jokes Unfunny.......2005-10-28
Let's face it; some of the jokes are funny. The one about Mike Tyson been like someone else's bulldog let loose in the room was really funny. I also found the bit about Bill Clinton and Osama Bin Laden also funny. However, Jamie dwells too much on the fart joke. How can you tell a fart joke for 6 minutes? After 2 min it becomes worn and so "unfunny". Why does he repeat himself so much with that line, "I am not saying she's a crackhead, just a bit crackish"? It sounds very rehearsed after the second time. If it were only for these errors I would have found the jokes altogether acceptable.
What I found completely unacceptable were the racist jokes that he made against Arabs. I am black myself but found some of the jokes about Islam and Arabs to be in bad taste. Jamie could not even get an Arab accent right. C'mon, guys the accent Jamie pulled was an Indian accent and not an Arab accent.
I kept asking myself, "what would black people do if a white comedian (say Robin Williams) makes the same crude jokes about black people?" Would it be acceptable?". I think not. I am sure the black press would slaughter Robin if he did. I wish to call a spade a spade. Nonsensical, crude racist jobs against any ethnic group (black, white, Asian and yes Arabs) are not funny. They degrade and demean. For not even managing to get an Arabic accent, Jamie deserves 2 stars from me.
Jamie Foxx - I think I Might Need security.......2005-10-20
Jamie is the bomb. There is none funnier than him and no matter how many times I watch it, the jokes are still fresh and funnier than before. Love him, love him, love him. A definite must have.

A must-have collector#s item for all Jamie Foxx fans! Jamie Foxx Unleashed: Jamie Foxx goes back to his Texas roots where he's more outrageous than ever in this no-holds-barred performance! Jamie tells it like it is on everything, from rap's angry lyrics to dating and sex. The master of physical humor combined with 100 percent real honesty and dead-on impersonations, Foxx is pure electricity onstage, driving the jam-packed audience over the edge with laughter! Jamie Foxx: I Might Need Security: You know him as a hilarious television star and when you watch his sold-out performance at the Paramount Theater in Oakland, California, you'll know him as one of the world's funniest comedians. In his irresistible, high-energy style, Foxx delivers a no-holds-barred performance, riffing on everything from his AIDS-fearing grandmother to the Rodney King beating. The multi-talented Foxx winds it all up with a smooth medley of songs from his hit album Peep This.

The Foxx Boxx Collection offers not only some topnotch stand-up comedy, but also the rare opportunity to see a rising star at three very different points in his career. In Straight from the Foxxhole (from 1993), Jamie Foxx is still raw, still refining his comedy, but also hungry for success and throwing himself into his act with full abandon. His physical and vocal talents are in full display with his breakout character Wanda from the sketch comedy show In Living Color, his impersonations of different famous men telling a woman to leave after sex (including James Brown, Prince, and Bill Cosby), and a routine about a paraplegic getting into fights and being knocked out of his wheelchair (you may have guessed by now that Foxx doesn't shy away from controversial subjects). Tweaking black celebrities is a favorite theme; in Unleashed, he imagines a Biggie-Tupac-style feud between Morgan Freeman and Cosby, skewers OJ Simpson and Mike Tyson, and depicts Bill Clinton as "the closest thing to a black president we're going to get." Unleashed was shot in 1997, when Foxx's movie career was just budding; Foxx is a comic juggernaut at this point with the audience eating out of his hand. By the time I Might Need Security was shot in 2002, his movie career had taken off. Foxx clearly still enjoys doing stand-up, but it doesn't consume him the way it did in the previous concerts. Make no mistake, there's still plenty of humor, fueled all the more by Foxx's fresh stardom. He gets a lot of mileage from a squabble with LL Cool J on the set of Any Given Sunday and finding himself uncomfortably attracted to Prince. (Warning: Many of Foxx's routines are extremely sexually explicit, which may jolt viewers who only know him as an actor.) --Bret Fetzer
Customer Reviews:
Utterly disappointing.......2007-02-26
I tried hard hard, but couldn't find a single DVD that I enjoyed in this collection. What a waste of money! Jamie is a better actor and singer than he is a comedian. I might have laughed8 times through all three discs- not good enough. Perhaps I expected too much from Jamie. He just isn't witty enough. He has that schoolground bully type of humour. You can just picture him being the bloke that took the mickey out of the poor kids with low self-esteem. Don't get me wrong, I am no prude and I love irreverence and political incorrectnes, but I feel like Jamie tries too hard.I don't think that comedy comes naturally to him.
This box set is definitely worth a miss.
Scratch.......2006-02-25
The package's general condition is good. However, one of the movies is scratched. The first day i played it, it froze on one part, and now it does the same thing every time. I'm hoping I can fix it with some alcohol or something.
The Forgotten King Of Comedy.......2005-08-17
Jamie Foxx is the best comedian on the planet. He keeps you on the edge of your seat with his comedic style, not to mention his unbelievable singing voice. The Texas native has finally been brought to the world and this DVD proves it. I can't wait until he drops another album!
i just want my jamie!!.......2005-05-04
the show was ok but the man looked good! DANMM JAMIE!! WHEW!
Finally on DVD!!!.......2005-03-07
Straight from the Foxxhole is definitely one that needs to be in the DVD collection. I've been waiting 12 years to own a copy of this. From the previous review, it sounded like the DVD came from the street bootlegs of chinatown. It is not as bad as described. There was about 15 seconds on the DVD where poor "tracking" was visible on the video, but the sound was unaffected. The clarity of the video, overall, was good. If you're a fan of Jaime Foxx, then this set is a must have...you don't need a review to tell you to buy this set!!!!
