How many movies offer the rare spectacle of a parasailing pink starfish flying over a crowd with a congratulatory pennant clenched between his buttcheeks? And that's only the tip of the iceberg--The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie is a freewheeling goof of a cartoon, full of surreal twists as its diminutive heroes head down a dangerous road to rescue the lost crown of King Neptune. SpongeBob (voiced by Tom Kenny), an arrested adolescent in the mold of Pee-wee Herman, works at a fast-food restaurant that serves something called Krabby Patties (as the restaurant owner is himself a crab, it's not clear what exactly they're made of). His best friend Patrick Starfish (Bill Fagerbakke) lives under a rock and has an IQ in the lower digits. Still, their friendship carries them through many a tight spot as they strive for manliness. Anyone seeking a coherent world will be disappointed; in this undersea adventure, things catch on fire or seem to be surrounded by air whenever it's convenient for a gag. The jokes are often more silly than actually funny, but there's an undeniably energetic joviality to the proceedings. Featuring the voices of Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Tambor, Alec Baldwin, and a fully fleshed appearance by David Hasselhoff. --Bret Fetzer

Description
SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS revolves around the denizens of Bikini Bottom and a sweet square yellow sponge with the tongue twister name of SpongeBob SquarePants, who lives in a giant pineapple with his cookie-loving pet snail Gary. His two best friends and comrades-in-misadventures, are Patrick, a gullible starfish and a temperamental, thrill-seeking squirrel named Sandy Cheeks who lives in an underwater dome complete with a large Texas tree house and picnic area. SpongeBob is the "best fry cook ever" at the Krusty Krab, where he has to deal with his miserly boss Mr. Krabs and the grumpy cashier Squidward Tentacles. SpongeBob is always landing himself (and his friends!) in hot soup despite the best of intentions. Great for Sponge Bob Fans!.......2007-06-09
I bought this as a gift for a child, not knowing she loved Sponge Bob and the gift was a total hit! Great for not knowing what to get kids as gifts!
Great DVD series.......2007-05-13
If you are looking for a ripping-good laugh, go no further than Spongebob! Good family-friendly fun is now available to your own DVD player. The purity of Spongebob and the outright sillyness of his friend Patrick are just plain perfect. I am a 33 year old dad with 2 kids ages 11 and 9, and we all, including myself, just adore this series. I have laughed so hard that I was literally in tears. Buy this set and you'll agree 100%. Thanks for reading. I hope I have been helpful.
Warning!.......2007-05-05
Beware! This DVD set is very good... if we don't consider the fact that it doesn't have the "Help Wanted!" episode. I actually was disappointed by that, because if you are told that this is the COMPLETE 1st Season, then you expect all the Season 1 episodes to be here, especially the first one. However, you can find this episode in the Complete 3rd Season DVD set. So, no worries.
My kid loves it.......2007-05-03
and that's good enough for me! Really, Spongebob is cute and funny. I love how innocent Spongebob is and even though it can be crude it's always funny and it keeps my boys entertained on those rainy days.
Spongebob rocks................2007-04-18
My two sons ages 2 and 3 love Spongebob(so do their parents!)so I bought this season to add to our family's collection. It has not been a disapointment. My kids watch it everyday!
If you have kids who are into Spongebob this is well worth the price for the hours of entertainment this will provide.
WE LOVE IT!

This is my homework movie.......2007-06-25
I've seen this countless time, opening night in theaters and own it for when I'm doing homework. The humor as Spongebob seems to be is more adult and 80's in this film then it ever has been in the TV show. Including a hair metal dance sequence. When I saw it in the theater the kids giggles at their heroes and smiled, but the poor parent dragged to bad kid movie after bad kid movie were laughing, jokes about David Hasselhoff, and a nut bar. It s a film knowing that the people seeing it are stoners and people not looking for the next Disney celebrity voiced Oscar fest but a film to space out at and simple enjoy. And out of the countless bad Nick cartoons made into movies this has to be one of the best, beating out Rugrats, Hey Arnold and Doug by a mile. And lets not get started on the last piece that's come out of Disney in the last 10 year. So on that note it worth to see if you know its not going to be GOOD then its going to be fun at least, and simply enjoyable.
Enjoyment of the series is no guarantee you'll enjoy the movie........2007-06-21
I'm an adult and a member of the "Spongebob Underground": adults who enjoy the cartoons but are afraid to say that to other adults. So, I'm a big fan and I've seen most all the cartoon episodes. I think Spongebob was the first great cartoon of the 21st century.
But the movie just doesn't work. It's like they had enough material for a typical 11 minute cartoon and they tried to spread it over an almost-hour-and-a-half movie. It was strained humor, tedious to watch, and mostly mindless slapstick stuff for little kids. The part that the parents enjoy, that the kids don't get, just wasn't there (except for the NPR joke that I thought was hilarious). But one great joke does not a movie make.
One of our favorites!.......2007-05-19

Fantastic.......2007-04-13
I really enjoyed this movie. When I first heard that they were making a Spongebob movie, I didn't want to see it as I imagined that it would just be a really long episode and I couldn't see how they could make the fun last for the length of time a movie lasts. But the story is well thought out and the fun does last the whole movie. I particularly love Spongebob consoling himself with ice cream sundaes when he doesn't get promoted, he and Patrick get a little out of control. The movie really was fun and I can watch it again and again and still laugh. Well worth the effort.

SpongeBob's sophomore year on television was as loopy as season 1, way down in the underwater town known as Bikini Bottom. The 40 animated episodes on SpongeBob SquarePants: The Complete Second Season find the cackling little optimist-hero and his bizarre community back in action, defending the honor of fast-food eatery the Krusty Krab, redefining the meaning of friendship along rather disturbing lines, and presenting new challenges and opportunities for SpongeBob--which means he's almost certain to alienate and offend someone every time. "Something Smells" finds the unfailingly friendly SpongeBob plagued by an antisocial problem with profoundly bad breath, about which he hasn't a clue, of course. "Squid's Day Off" features fan favorite Squidward the curmudgeon in priceless scenes of gnawing anxiety after he leaves the Krusty Krab in SpongeBob's typically incapable hands. "You Wish/Shanghaied" is a very funny piece in which SpongeBob, best friend Patrick the starfish, and Squidward stumble upon the Flying Dutchman's sunken ship, squander two out of three wishes, and then weigh their individual preferences for that final wish. (Patrick's choice: gum.) Another classic, "I'm with Stupid," stars an altruistic SpongeBob pretending to be even more dumb than Patrick in order to make the latter look brilliant to his parents. Great stuff, and a natural high at that. --Tom Keogh

Can't get enough.......2007-07-03
My 2 year old LOVES spongebob. She asks to watch Spongebob every night before bed. We have seasons two and three. He favorite episodes from season two are Gary Takes a Bath and Dumped. She just may love Gary more than Spongebob.
Uncreative Title.......2007-01-31
I've always been a big fan for The Bob, and so has my mother, so when I found her favorite episode on these dvds, I bought it right away. It was the right episode and she loved it, so all is well and good.
The Best Season Ever!.......2006-11-23
The first Season of SpongeBob was great and all but the second season was where the show really shined. The characters personalities stayed pretty quirky and hilarious, but the humor made shifted gears into verbal comedy with loads of jokes that a normal little kid would never understand! but to please there originally intended younger audience there were many slapstick scenes in the many episodes in here. My one problem with this season though is how it changed from handdrawn animation into computer created episodes. it just wasn't the same. on another note this season featured The Christmas Episode and a few others with Patchy and Potty! and finally this season featured some pretty sweet special features like Around The World with SpongeBob SquarePants and not only were the DVD Menus creatively set up like SpongeBob's Pineapple but also the Box Set itself was!
GREAT BOX! BUY IT!!!.......2006-11-06
I am a huge fan of Spongebob! I was so happy when I bought this! Let me just skip to my review:
Packaging: The DVDs inside of this set are not the slim ones. Each case has a picture of Spongebob or another character on the front. There is also a picture of all the characters in the season inside SB's house. On the back there is a listing of all the episodes in the season, which isn't attached to the box.
Episodes: They are all great! My favorites are:
Imitation Krabs
Frankendoodle
Welcome To The Chum Bucket
Squid's Day Off
Procrastination
Dying For Pie
Sandy, Spongebob, And The Worm
Pressure
And many more! Buy this. And if you don't, YOUR LIFE WILL BE FILLED WITH MISERY!!!
Who Doesn't Love Spongebob?.......2006-08-03
I as well as my 5 year old son love Spongebob. I put on one of his Spongebob cd's every night for him to fall asleep to. I am 33 myself & I can'thelp but love spongebob. It is a very nice collection I don't think I have to convince you that all spongebobs are excellent. Great fun for the whole family.

Who Doesn't Love Spongebob?.......2007-01-15
For those of you Spongebob haters, I don't even know why you're looking at this page. To all of you Spongebob lovers, the complete 3rd season is, in my opinion, the best season of all the Spongebob seasons. It truely is 3 DVDs of laughter and fun. If you have a particular episode that you like, but don't know what season it's in, here are some really good episodes in the 3rd season:
"Just One Bite"
"Idiot Box"
"Doing Time"
"Wet Painters" (a personal favorite)
"Krusty Krab Training Video"
"The Camping Episode"
"Pranks a Lot"
...and more!! All of the best-written episodes can be found on these three DVDs. They are the funniest, best-drawn, and most original of the Spongebob episodes and I tip my hat to all of those who worked on the making of this wonderful DVD box set.
I LOVE SPONGEBOB!!!.......2006-10-21
This is a great Spongebob set with all the episodes from the 3rd season including many special features! The packaging is great! On the inside there are characters in the show all in the Krusty Krab. On thing that bugs me is the episode listing on the back of the case is just a piece of paper. But otherwise, BUY THIS SET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fun for people from 3 to 103.......2006-03-15
What can I say? If you have any sense of humour at all, you'll love this. Unlike The Simpsons, the jokes aren't always aimed at an adult audience, but there are plenty of hidden meanings and jokes in these stories for everyone to enjoy. Think of the 'coin accident' in "My Pretty Seahorse" or the cover-up operation with a presumed corpse in "Nasty Patty" for example.
Not every episode is that good and someone should shoot Patchy the Pirate sometime soon, but overall this is great stuff.
hilarious.......2006-02-24
In our house if somebody hears other family members hooting with laughter from the living room they will call out " are you watching Spongebob?" We have all three seasons and we have watched them all over and over. We can't really decide which is the funniest but this third one is definately worth buying.

Halloween boasts a full hour of deep-sea spooks featuring Nickelodeon's jolly sponge with the cubical trousers. In "Scaredy Pants" easy-to-scare SpongeBob attempts to come up with the scariest costume ever--and exceeds beyond his wildest dreams. "Imitation Krabs" concerns Plankton's evil robotic plan to trick SpongeBob into revealing Mr. Krab's secret krabby patty recipe. "Frankendoodle," a spoof on Frankenstein, has SpongeBob drawing a self-portrait with a magical pencil he found. It proceeds to come to life, wreaking havoc all over Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob turns into a "snailcat" in "I Was a Teenage Gary" when he's accidentally injected with pet Gary's medicine. And in "Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost," SpongeBob and pal, Patrick the starfish, mistake his grumpy talcum powder-covered neighbor for a grown-up Casper. The educational value may be minimal, but the humor quotient is high in these five installments of the popular series. For ages 6 and up. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Hilarious!.......2006-04-06
This SpongeBob SquarePants DVD has to to be the best one yet! it has a lot of funny episodes from different seasons of the television series. It's really original and the episodes are just good! It's a good collection of 10 episodes and it has over 90 minutes of fun. The special features aren't the best ever because they could have added more, but it's the episodes themselves why you should purchase this item. Below is the list of episodes this DVD contains and the grade I give them.
1) Scaredy Pants (Halloween episode) = A
2) Imitation Krabs = A+
3) Frankendoodle = A++ (funny!)
4) I Was A Teenage Gary = A
5) Squidward, the Unfriendly Ghost = A+
6) The Secret Box = A+
7) Band Geeks = A
8) Welcome to Chum Bucket = A+
9) My Pretty Seahorse = A
10) Idiot Box = A+
Trust me, you won't be sorry. Go SpongeBob!
Thank Goodness For The New Cartoons.......2005-11-08
Nice collections of "SpongeBob" material, though I suggest moving to the seasonal boxed sets instead.
What's This? Napping on the Job?.......2005-09-18
You know how some episodic DVDs creep up on you one episode at a time, and some gather all their episodes and hit you like a fist? Well, not only did SpongeBob SquarePants Halloween hit me like a fist, but it also burst through the ceiling of all expectations (funny and absurd) to emerge as my all time fave SpongeBob DVD!!!!! (Until the next one.)
But seeing as I only have practically 90 episodes to go until I've seen all, that's no big surprise. But as Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost would moan, "Enoooough! Listen uuuupp......"
Scaredy Pants.
It's Halloween in Bikini Bottom, and SpongeBob has quite simply had enough of everybody scaring him. Now it's his turn for a pay back! And what better to be than a round ghost imitation of the Flying Dutchman in clogs? (Even though Squidward's pirate wear looks more realistic.) But he just isn't scaring anybody. Maybe a visit from the real Dutchman would be in order? The ending is hilarious, so all in all a good ep. - 8 outta 10.
Imitation Krabs.
SpongeBob's on constant lookout for Plankton and his schemes to steal the formula. So when he gets Squidward and Krabs out of the way (a day off and a rolling penny) and steps into a robo Krabs (reminds one of Krab Borg in a way), it's all the more confusing for the perky fry cook. Maybe 6 and a half hours of constant testing should be enough to wear the fake Krabs down... or is it? Kind of grows on ya. "Nobody moves, nobody gets hurt." - 8 outta 10.
Franken Doodle.
When a giant pencil falls into Bikini Bottom, naturally SpongeBob and Patrick are very enthusiastic. They manage to have a lot of fun with that pencil (Squidward even gets hair!!!!!!!) until the dreaded Sponge Doodle is drawn. He and the pencil now wreak havoc around Bikini Bottom. Will SpongeBob live to tell the tale, or will he meet the sharp (or worse, rounded rubber) end of the evil magic pencil? Sponge Doodle's language is vulgar, so I couldn't understand half of it. But still pretty good. - 7 outta 10.
I Was a Teenage Gary.
Squidward's "volunteered" to watch Gary for SpongeBob while he goes to a jelly fishing convention with Patrick for a long weekend. But 3 days of neglect is too much for the poor pet. So SpongeBob's shocked to walk in and find Gary half-dead. Squidward has to give Gary a shot with snail serum (the doc's too squeamish), but due to SpongeBob's carelessness, pricks him on the nose. Eventually, another snail is added to the populace... or even 2 if Squidward has anything to do with it? Catch the hilarious "mew the miaw miaow" ending. Meoooow, meooow, meow meow-meow meow... - 9 outta 10.
Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost.
Accidentally straying from an active game outside, a throwing shell accidentally lodges into the head of a wax Squidward (apparently it helps conquer all artistic media). Poor SpongeBob and Patrick do everything they can to save it, but to no avail. The problem is, they think it's the real Squidward, so they're shocked when a white (real) Squidward emerges from the bathroom. Now this is either time to evacuate the town... or for Squidward to have a little revenge on the uptake... if you know what I mean. A fantastic episode. Squid, can't get enough of him! - 10 outta 10.
The Secret Box.
It's small. It's a box. It's a small box. But inside is the Best Secret Ever! And SpongeBob will go to any lengths to get it. Even sneak under Patrick's rock. It may ruin a friendship they've had for such a long time and even made a Best Friends Forever club ring for, but he'll do it. I mean, what if it's an embarrassing snapshot of him at the Christmas party? Suspenseful, but not so much it kills me. - 7 outta 10.
Band Geeks.
Let's face it, Squidward's kinda always had a dream to be a world famous musician. So he isn't likely to pass up a chance to perform, at the Bubble Bowl, with his arch rival from high school and band class Squilliam Fancyson watching, in a hurry. The problem? He doesn't have a band. So he recruits everyone in Bikini Bottom at short notice. Will the band flop and crush Squidward's one chance of happiness into little tiny bite-size pieces, or will it be a sweet sweet victory? Genius. Pure genius. Addicted from first watch. - 20 outta 10 (I tried to make the rating meter bigger, it was that good!)
Welcome to the Chum Bucket.
When it comes to cards, Mr Krab's always taken Plankton to the cleaners. But one unlucky slip means that he lost the one thing that matters... SpongeBob's contract. A devastated SpongeBob is transported to the Chum Bucket, but won't make a single patty. Not even after an exact replica of the Krusty Krab kitchen, vibrating slippers, a pony ride, a bedtime story... Touching in the end. - 8 outta 10.
My Pretty Seahorse.
SpongeBob likes spring. Understatement. So you can believe his luck when he finds and tames a wild seahorse he calls Mystery. (Well, it was Mystery, Grace or Debbie.) But as it turns out, the Krusty Krab is no place for bucking broncos that eat every thing in sight. So it's either hide Mystery in the kitchen, or CowBob RanchPants gets fired! Once again, a touching episode, but only due to the bowl of onions on the desk. - 8 outta 10.
The Idiot Box.
Normally when it comes to ordering stuff, you play with the thing inside and throw away the outside. But in SpongeBob and Patrick's case, they throw away the inside, a brand new screen TV, and play in the outside, a box. Squidward is not amused or interested... until an avalanche starts in the middle of the box! How do they make all these sound effects? Is it the (makes rainbow shape with hands) imaaaaaginaaaationnnnnnnnnnn or perhaps, something more? Only one way for Squidward to find out... Totally funny, too cool, and if you don't find the racing car ending hilarious, you really haven't lived! - 10 outta 10.
Wait, I'm getting something...
Yeah. Apparently, Squidward's ghost is feeling unusually generous today. He has decided to spare ye a horrible fate if ye really don't like SpongeBob. (sssssssssssssssssissssss.)
So at least try this DVD out, and if ye do not liketh it, there is an alternative. All you must do is tend to my every whim, and tickle my fancy on command...
Now get this DVD. Now. Or thou shalt unleash the horrible wrath of Squiiiiidwaaaard........
(I think they make a cream for that now.)

Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants has become so popular, it must be considered a phenomenon. The series has a pleasant, predictable, and slightly offbeat humor, and these mini-adventures give viewers what they expect. SpongeBob has to deal with a ghostly pirate, his own insecurities when his skill as a preparer of krabby patties is challenged, and the dangerous pleasures of fisherman's hooks. The voice acting is often amateurish and imitative. Patrick suggests a Homer Simpson-wannabe, while Bubble Bass sounds like the Comic Book Guy. The humor can become gross. In episode No. 2, SpongeBob absorbs a bathtub full of water, then vomits it at Gary, the snail who acts as his dog. But it seems pointless to grumble about these weaknesses. SpongeBob SquarePants has clearly won a place in the hearts of American viewers. (Suitable for ages 8 and older: cartoon violence, minor gross-out humor) --Charles Solomon

This is a great set of episodes! I don't have it and I won't be getting it (I am sticking to the season sets), but I love just about all the episodes. Here are my grades for them:

Editorial disagreement.......2004-09-19
Charles, mate, can I just correct you on a few things? Thanks...
PREDICTABLE HUMOUR: How can humour simultaneously be "predictable" and "offbeat"? One of the great things about the series as a whole is that unexpected lines often come out- often tailored to the more mature audiences. (hang on, mature? I'm watching a cartoon...oh well)
AMATEURISH VOCAL ACTING: Ok, that's why many of the vocal actors have won awards as well as acclaim for their talents then?! Tom Kenny (Spongebob) also appears in such greats as Johnny Bravo and more. Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs) even played the fearsome captain in 'The Shawshank Redemption' -hardly an amateur. There are talents too numerous to account for here -check the awards pages for vocal actiong.
GROSS-OUT:? Actually, the creator, Steve Hillenburg studied Marine Studies at uni, so what you might think of as "vomiting" is funnily enough a natural process in actual sponges, being porous and squeezy and all..He sticks to some facts rigidly!
GARY THE DOG: ? Do dogs meow? Cos I thought that was cats. 2ndly, Gary is much more intelligent than Spongebob and often offers advice and guidance to 'Bob's whims.
OVERALLL: Watch it again, Charles, and I'm sure you'll love it as much as the rest if us! Best episode on this DVD is 'Sailor Mouth'! This DVD collation has weaknesses, but that's probably 'cos it's half aimed at kids and half at adults. You're never going to get the ideal, but Spongebob is something I can watch all day if my diary demands nothing else...and enjoy. I can't wait to be the only person under 30 in the cinema in November!!!
Insanely Funny! (but a word of advice...).......2004-02-22
'Sea Stories' is the most popular compilation of episodes of Nickelodeon's cartoon hit, SpongeBob Squarepants.
The VHS edition contains five episodes, all of which are insanely funny:
-"Shanghaied", where SpongeBob and his team deal with the ghost pirate The Flying Dutchman, driving him up the walls of his patience with their nonsense.
-"Gary Takes A Bath", an instant classic that can make many parents feel identified, as SpongeBob goes through lots of hoops in an effort to try to get his pet Gary to take a bath... the best of all the episodes!
-"Hooky" - SpongeBob and Patrick have fun playing with the hooks from fishermen, in somewhat of a "bungee-like" fashion, jumping off of them before they get pulled out of the water, until SpongeBob learns his lesson.
-"Life of Crime" - another very funny episode where SpongeBob and his 'partner in crime' Patrick run away after the ballom they borrowed (because it was "okay to borrow things") pops and they feel they're going to be put into jail for having stolen a baloon.
-"Pickles", a hilarious face-to-face between SpongeBob and Bubble Bath makes him loose his self-confidence as a chef when he's accused of having forgotten to put pickles in his locally "famous" krabby patty.
While all the episodes contain fairly innocent humor (that parents and everyone alike will laugh to) when compared to other past cartoons (such as "Ren and Stimpy"), I'd advice parents to stick around when your children watch SpongeBob. He can provide you with some valuable tools to get your children to understand certain things, but by the same token, he can twist some things that might later complicate matters (making certain things confusing in their minds), considering the easy way in which the kids connect to the character. All in all, far from a bad influence and very funny. The only aside: just keep an eye on the kids and talk to them about the episodes, if you feel it is appropriate.

Great Episodes.......2006-09-26
I am a big fan of Spongebob. I do not have this dvd, but I can quote almost every episode on this dvd. So I will only talk about the episodes. These are some great episodes, though they do not all tie into Christmas or even snow. My favorite on the dvd would have to be "Survival of the Idiots", with "Snowball Effect" in a close second. Here are my ratings of the episodes in order from best to worst:
1. Survival of the Idiots: One of my favorites of all time. Spongebob and Patrick get stuck in Sandy's Treedome in winter. This episode deals with snow. I rate it 9.9 out of 10.
1. Snowball Effect: Another favorite. A classic about Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward on a snow day. I rate it 10 out of 10.
3. Christmas Who?: This is obviously the main episode of the dvd. It's about Spongebobs first Christmas. This is also a half hour special. I rate it 9.5 out of 10.
4. Chocolate with Nuts: Though this episode has nothing to do with Christmas or snow, it is a classic about Spongebob and Patrick selling chocolate. I think it is a bit over rated, but still one of the best episodes. I rate it 9.5 out of 10.
5. Pizza Delivery: Great for season 1. No Christmas or snow. This is about Spongebob and Squidward delivering the first Krusty Krab pizza. I rate it 9 out of 10.
6. Procrastination: A great episode but, once again, there is no snow or Christmas. Spongebob goofs off when he needs to do an essay. I rate it 8.8 out of 10.
7. As Seen On TV: Another good episode. No Christmas or snow. This is about Spongebob thinking that he is famous just for being on a commercial. I rate it 8.6 out of 10.
8. Mermaidman and Barnacleboy IV: No Christmas or snow. This is just okay compared to most of the other episodes. I rate it 8 out of ten.
9. Squeaky Boots: Worst episode on the dvd. No Chirstmas or snow again. This is about Spongebob getting boots that are very squeaky and they bother everyone. I rate it 4.0 out of 10.
Overall, these are great episodes. Though I am getting the complete season sets though, this is still a great set!
Ratings of the episodes.......2006-09-22
Christmas Who? (Double-length Episode!) - Great for this set. Duh.
Procrastination - Not that Christmasy, but pretty good.
Snowball Effect - Snow-theme makes it good for this DVD.
Survival of the Idiots - Has snow, so good for this DVD.
Mermaidman and Barnacleboy IV - No Christmas, but good.
Chocolate with Nuts - Pretty good episode, but not christmasy.
As Seen on TV - Momentary part makes it inappropriate for the DVD.
Pizza Delivery - No Christmas, but good.
Squeaky Boots - NAUSEATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You call Procrastination CHRISTMAS?!.......2005-11-24
These are good episodes, but what's so christmasy about Procrastination? I don't see snow, no stockings, no tree, no nothing about Christmas in it!
But you chose pretty good episodes!
"Christmas".......2005-10-10
This Christmas episode is truly my favorite throughout all of the Spongebob seasons. I was especially suprised when they put "Chocolate with Nuts" on this set. That is my second favorite episode. Overall this is a five star set.
"...And everybody pretends to like the fruitcake...YAWN".......2004-12-24
Spongebob Squarepants Christmas lives up to the lofty standards that this show has set for itself. Patchy the pirate introduces the first double length short "Christmas Who?" which is hilarious. The basic premise is that Spongebob and the rest of Bikini Bottom is unaware of the holiday until Sandy clues Spongebob in. Spongebob then spreads holiday joy by encouraging everyone to write a letter to Santa and wait for his impending arrival. Squidward, as always, is skeptical but winds up saving the day in the end. Overall, this is one of Squidward's funniest shorts, he has some classic one-liners such as "Oh, I see a perfect photo-op" or "Yep, I'm insane". You just cannot find a consistently funnier show than this and Spongebob Christmas lives up to the hype. Highly Recommended.

Split pants, bad breath, and time travel are just part of the nonsense the animated sponge and his undersea buddies are up to in this installment of the popular Nickelodeon series. The cheerfully inept SpongeBob splits his pants while hoisting marshmallows in a weightlifting competition, to the amusement of the crowd. So if it's funny once, it must be funny five times, right? Next, Squidward gets trapped in the Krusty Krab freezer and time travels to a future of Spongetrons and back to a prehistoric SpongeBob and Patrick--not a pretty sight. There's also a cure for Sandy the squirrel's homesickness for Texas, underwater ghost stories when SpongeBob and Squidward work the night shift, and the sponge's aforementioned sea onion breath in this 10-episode compilation. Don't look for any double-entendres to amuse the parents here; this two-hour collection of goofing around is strictly for kids, ages 4 to 10. --Kimberly Heinrichs

Funny Episodes & Cool Extras.......2006-04-06
This SpongeBob DVD has great episodes (like always), but as a change - the Special Features are getting better! SpongeBob DVDs always have cool episodes, but sometimes lack of Special Features. I can't say these Special Features are the best because they're not, but they're really good and give you a background on SpongeBob. They're a good amount of extras for the DVD, and even though they could have added more, it's a good amount and are really enjoyable. The episodes are very well chosen and can be enjoyed by all ages! Here are the episodes this product includes and the grade I think they deserve.
1) Ripped Pants = A
2) SB-129 = A
3) Texas = A+
4) The Graveyard Shift = A+
5) Something Smells = A+
6) Jellyfishing = A
7) Dying For Pie = A+
8) Wormy = A
9) F.U.N. = A+
10) Club SpongeBob = A+
Also, three of these episodes (episodes 1, 3, and 9) have great songs sang by SpongeBob, Sandy, and SpongeBob and Plankton. Buy this volume to add to your collection!
The Ocean's The Only Place for a Squirrel (And Entertainment!).......2005-09-18
The first real episode of SpongeBob I ever saw was Texas. And believe me, it will always remain a firm favourite. (It will always remain firm full stop.) It was what started the landslide of other favourites, and when I got the Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies DVD, I'd already seen half the eps on that one on the Nautical Nonsense VHS. But still, the Sponge Buddies section kept the DVD going, though let's face it, a few eps were a little weak.
Why do I ramble anyway?
Ripped Pants.
SpongeBob's always been a little jealous of Sandy hanging out with Larry sometimes. But when he gets the chance to impress both at the weight lifting section in Goo Lagoon (by lifting 2 marshmallows on a stick), he's humiliated when he accidentally rips his swim pants!! That is, until he finds out they're laughing with him, not at him. So if lifting weights gets a big laugh, then frisbee in face must kill, and surfing must knock them dead. But what about pretending to drown? It's got a song, which is always a good thing. - 9 outta 10.
SB-129.
Some people will go to any lengths to get away from something. Even freezing themselves in the freezer for a couple of hours. But Squidward goes a little too far and freezes himself in the Krusty Krab freezer for 2000 years! He wakes up on March 6 4017, the year of chrome, clones and 486 letters of the alphabet. Even the present SpongeBob was better than this! But how to go back? It's a time travelling, clone critizising, can opening, manners-reminding, jelly fishing good time! - 10 outta 10.
Texas.
Sandy's sure been tense lately. Sand castles, karate and even jelly fishing seems to have touched a nerve on the homesick squirrel. She really misses her hometown Texas. But when it comes to SpongeBob and Patrick, that's no reason to leave her bubble and catch the first bus back!!! Not when they've got a slice of Texas waiting for her at the Krusty Krab! Will mocking it with their "dumb Texans" impressions do the trick? Or have they finally bitten off more than they can chew? And is home really about barbecues and piquant pies? Trust me, it isn't just another song that gets me for this episode, though it does help. Always a classic, never a cliche, nuff said. - 10 outta 10.
The Graveyard Shift.
To extract more money from the hungry customers, Mr Krabs introduces the open forever scheme and the night shift. Well, SpongeBob sure is enthusiastic, which is more than can be said for Squidward. But the night is the perfect time for a ghost story. And who better than the Hash Slinging Slasher? Mind you, it isn't true, even Squid knows that. Though those lights are looking mighty suspicious. And who's that on the other end of the phone? And surely the buses don't run this late... Scares the eyelashes right outta your eyes, until the big finale ending. (Just who is that zombie, though?) - 10 outta 10.
Something Smells.
People avoid him in the streets. Even those he knows refuse to acknowledge him. SpongeBob's confused. He can't be ugly, he's a sponge! But if Patrick insists... what can cure the ugly? A pep talk? A story? A disguise? Or just a movie? Sheesh, it must have been something he ate. Or something he and Patrick ate, for the stale peanut onion sundae looks appetizing to a starfish. Confusing at points, but eventually teaches all a meaningful lesson: DON'T EAT ONIONS OR ANYTHING OUT OF DATE! - 8 outta 10.
Jelly Fishing.
Everyone knows jelly fishing would be the thing to make the best day ever the best day ever. Not soup, or music, but jelly fishing. The only sure cure for the blues. But it doesn't do wonders for a guy's health, especially with those stingers. If only Squidward could tell SB and Patrick that as he sits there in a wheelchair recovering from an unscheduled mountain biking trip... Not as good as the others, which isn't like Squidward. But then again, could the fact that he's bound to a wheelchair and considered immobile in this ep have something to do with it? - 7 outta 10.
Dying for Pie.
It's Employee Brotherhood Gift Exchange Day at the Krusty Krab, and Squidward is less than thrilled. Especially as he gets 2 sweaters from SpongeBob. 1 from eyelashes, and 1 from tears. And after all that, he has the nerve to accidentally get him a bomb pie. SpongeBob cries his sweater in tears. And he kills him. Mr Krab's seen it before, and the way he sees it, the sponge's got until sunset. Squidward's so overwhelmed with guilt, he does everything SpongeBob wants to do with him in his final hours, and shows so much affection he drowns in it. But how will he cope when he has to watch the sunset? A wonderful, valuable episode. Please do not underestimate it. I beg you. - 10 outta 10.
Wormy.
It's big. It's brutal. It ate a favourite pet of Sandy's while she's away. It ate SpongeBob and Patrick's new best friend. Yes, it ate Wormy. Then Squidward. Then Mr Krabs. 3 people too many. This monster is on a rampage. This monster is after Bikini Bottom. This monster is rubbing its ugly fangs and coming for you!!! This monster; known simply as... the butterfly. One of the weirder episodes, but respect its value and you'll see the joke. - 8 outta 10.
F U N .
Poor Plankton. So very lonely, being an evil super villain that people step on. A touched SpongeBob tries to befriend the guy, and a reluctant Plankton accepts. The pair of them have so much fun together, but what is the super fiend scheming? And how will a movie prove it? An episode about the meaning of friendship. Sort of. But after 3 watches it kinda grows on you. - 8 outta 10.
Club SpongeBob.
Squidward, a member of over 20 different exclusive clubs, can just about fit in anywhere. Except SpongeBob and Patrick's secret club, which is just plain cramped. No room whatsoever. So cramped, in fact, that on trying to get out Squidward accidentally sends the club house flying thousands of miles away from home. The two main members trust in a talking toy called the magic conch, and due to its word just sit around doing nothing while Squidward tries to get out and eventually just survive. But yet, doing nothing seems to bring a feast to them, while he just has to settle with a beetle. Is Squid cracking up, or could the conch be true to its word? Only one thing to say to this. All hail the magic conch who invented this ep! - 10 outta 10.
A totally recommended DVD, solely for Texas. Texas you will love. The others, ultimately you will adore. Howdy y'all!

Tales from the Deep includes all nine episodes from the VHS releases Bikini Bottom Bash and Deep Sea Sillies. In the double-episode that begins this compilation of the Nickelodeon animated underwater series, SpongeBob buys a party planning kit. The porous party giver annoys his guests by scheduling their every second, until he accidentally gets locked out and the real party begins. Meanwhile, above sea level in an unfunny live-action segment, Patchy the Pirate hosts a revelry, forcing a marionette band to walk the plank, among other obnoxious gags. Back under the sea in the second episode, SpongeBob takes his hall monitor duties too seriously, directing traffic and disrupting life in Bikini Bottom. Next, following a sand-sledding accident that requires 20 hours of surgery, the boy sponge is so traumatized that he becomes housebound until a gorilla goes ape on Patrick and Sandy. Finally, SpongeBob plans a huge Valentine's Day surprise for Patrick, but a band of chocolate-eating mollusks delays delivery, inciting the seastar to throw a dangerous tantrum.
In an undersea version of "Green Eggs and Ham," the persistent boy sponge discovers Squidward has never tasted a krabby patty and hounds him until an addiction is born. The patties are featured again in the final episode when restaurant owner Krabs insists on trying to sell a spoiled sandwich. Since no one will bite, Krabs does, leading to a near-death experience. In between, the tenacious sponge and his seastar sidekick Patrick lure aging superheroes Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy (guest-voiced by Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway) out of retirement to vanquish a maniac. In the remaining two stories, the "little square dude" has fun with a gum wrapper and later nearly suffocates in the air-filled home of Sandy the squirrel. Best for ages 4-12, but nothing more objectionable than vomit humor for younger siblings. --Kimberly Heinrichs

Mostly Funny.......2006-06-11
"Contains all episodes from the VHS titles 'Bikini Bottom Bash' and 'Deep Sea Sillies'
Deep Sea Sillies was funny, but Bikini Bottom Bash wasn't so great. Why I gave this DVD 4-Stars instead of 5, is because of the order in which the episodes play. It doesn't make sense that Sandy is invited to Spongebob's party, when he hasn't meet her yet. What I mean is, Deep Sea Sillies (specifically "Tea at the Treedome") should have been first, then Bikini Bottom Bash.
Frankly, I find Patchy the Pirate, more annoying that bad episodes of Ren & Stimpy. But otherwise this DVD is a must buy.
I personally recommend SpongeBob SquarePants - Sponge Buddies/Nautical Nonsense. "Dying for Pie," and, "F.U.N.," are my personal favorite episodes.
the best spongebob dvd collection.......2006-02-20
i own 12 spongebob dvd collection discs. this is, by far, the best. the party episode is brilliant-i have almost memorized it. admittedly, patchy the pirate is really irritating, but even this episode has a funny song during the patchy part. this entire episode is worth one of the beginning drawings of spongebob in the style of r. crumb, the "keep on truckin'" pose(i think that's the artist and title). i highly recommend this dvd, whether you're a perennial fan or if you are considering buying spongebob for the first time. it is an excellent cartoon for both children and adults (i am 28).
SpongeBob is to Me as Krabby Patties are to Squidward (Eventually). .......2005-09-18
A little riddle for the riddle lovers.
What's the similarity between SpongeBob SquarePants Tales of the Deep and Krabby Patties when it comes to Squidward?
Give up?
Gotta have more! Gotta have more! Gotta have more! Gotta have more! Gotta have more! Gotta have more! Gotta have more! Gotta have more! Gotta have more etc etc.
Anyways.
(Note: Since I don't want people to get put off by any aspect of SpongeBob anymore, and since it's my birthday, I am now only putting down the best 2 episodes for you to watch, and the worst for you to avoid.)
BEST EPISODE: Born Again Krabs.
The Krusty Krab hasn't been popular for the past few weeks. And no, it's not the new place mats. It's the old patty that SpongeBob found under the grill and tried to trash. And you know how Mr Krabs is with trying to throw patties out, no matter how old they are. But he can't find a buyer for this! Not even when he samples the patty... and gets put away for food poisoning and clashes with the Flying Dutchman, who comes to take him to Davy Jones' Locker for being cheap. They strike a bargain; he returns to life a generous krab or else. He lives up to the deal as long as possible (he even initiates naps at work and [gasp shock horror] free refills!), but the last straw comes when he reaches total bankruptcy. Now comes the ultimate bargain. SpongeBob, his best fry cook? Or all the money the Dutchman has in his pocket? (No prizes for guessing which.) A totally funny closing episode, including one of Squidward's finest moments! (Though a little pushing might be in order.) - 11 outta 10.
SECOND BEST EPISODE: Just One Bite.
Krabby Patties; the most delicious thing in Bikini Bottom. But they're the reason Squidward hates his job. Radioactive sludgeballs, he reckons. So when SpongeBob finds out, he eventually has to stoop so low to take just one bite. And to be frank, words like horrible, putrid, poultry prepared, vile, unappetizing and disgusting don't begin to describe it. But yet, the fresh meaty tangy taste is refreshingly addictive. And it tastes better on a Kelp Bun with extra sea pickle... Soon Squid's caught up in a patty-lurving frenzy. How to cure this craving? How about a trip to the patty vault after hours? Honestly a fantastic ep, and the ending is hilarious. But those who act along to Squid, beware! Now where did I put my King-Size Ultra Krabby Supreme Double Batter Fried on a Stick? - 10 outta 10.
WORST EPISODE: Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. The first of 5.
SpongeBob and Patrick have been fans from day 1. They even have their own adventures, thus they learn of the location of the real things in a harsh duel with Reflecto (Squidward). Apparently they're working undercover in a retirement home. By working undercover I mean retired. But according to SpongeBob, old people are great, full of wisdom and experience. And he'll get married, cross-dress and paint an invisible boat mobile to get the duo out of retirement. It's too bad he doesn't take no for an answer. Quite good for a superhero epic. - 8 outta 10.
