1 out of 5 stars Worst Movie Ever.......2007-07-01

This movie is horrible. It is gross and to sum it up in a few words: the f-word and dirty jokes. It is disgusting. I don't recommend this movie for kids- or adults. Or ANYONE. I couldn't even FINISH it, it was so bad. The plot is not interesting, and like I said, if there even WAS a good plot you wouldn't know it because it would be so covered up by, like I said, the f-word and dirty jokes. I would never watch this movie is someone paid me a million dollars, and you shouldn't, either. I would recommend Scary Movie 3, though, the only other one I've seen, because it's actually FUNNY.

3 out of 5 stars A comedy that pokes fun at scary movies!.......2007-06-18

If you've seen any of the 4 Scary Movies, you know what they're about. They're comedies that poke fun at scary movies. They don't have any real story line. They're just there to make us laugh.

So what's to like about this movie? There are quite a few jokes that had me laughing. Some of the funny parts remind me of my own weird sense of humor and it's good to see a movie that contains not-so-typical/predictable jokes. The best part of the movie is the butler. His hand is deformed but he acts like his deformity is not a problem at all (when he's trying to save someone from falling, he says "take my strong hand!", refering to his bad hand). He exchanges disses with another character who has only one leg. Of course we have Anna Farris' character who gets made fun of by the guys. There are random jokes thrown throughout this movie (some good, some not so good). It's not a laugh out loud kind of movie but some parts will have you chuckling.

What's not to like about this movie? There's a couple of things. First, if you're not a horror movie fan, you may not understand some of the jokes and/or part of the plot. The majority of this movie is based on the movie "The Haunting" although there are some references to "The Exorcist", "What Lies Beneath", and some not-so-scary movies like "Charlie's Angels" and "The Matrix". If you haven't seen any of these movies (or at least know in general what they are about), it's easy to get confused. Also, as I said above, if you're expecting a really good story line, don't even bother. All of the movies in the Scary Movie line are basically just random scenes thrown together to gain some laughs that will come together to create an ending (and not even a good one at that).

My rating: 3.5/5 stars. If you've seen any of the other Scary Movies, you'll know what to expect. If you haven't seen them or you aren't a horror movie fan, you may be disappointed.

3 out of 5 stars Bored.......2006-12-09

The first Scary Movie was funny because it was the first of its kind. This one, however, is exactly what I expected it to be. Yes, there were funny moments, but it was highly predictable and truly boring. If you have seen the first Scary Movie, I would leave it at that. Just as we are typically disappointed by all other sequels, this was a disappointment. With all of the scary movies out that year, I thought surely this movie would be better than the last...it was a comical flop. They could have done better at making this Scary Movie different and separate from the first, it would have been more humorous.

5 out of 5 stars keeps getting funnier!!.......2006-11-27

funny as hell just like the first only better!!! your eyes will water laughing at this movie!

5 out of 5 stars FUNNY!.......2006-08-24

"Scary Movie 2" is great! There are a lot of funny moments in this film that I didn't see when I watched this film the first time. I originally didn't like it, but I tried it again and it was hilarious and a lot better than any other in this series.

This movie in one word is fun. There are a lot of jokes from other famous horror movies in here and they are done well. The movie is silly, but it is not a movie that is supposed to be taken seriously. From the basketball "STOMP" scene where they dance for no reason, to the funny butler played by Chris Elliot, the movie has a lot of randomness that is just funny. Overall this movie is really worth seeing. I think the butler is the funniest things about the movie and how everyone is trying to avoid his deformed hand. Worth seeing, especially if you didn't like it the first time, watching again may make it more enjoyable.

With the saturated color of CG classics like Toy Story and the Halloween-themed look of A Nightmare Before Christmas, Scary Godmother, Volume 2: Revenge of Jimmy, based on Jill Thompson's books, reminds viewers that being scared can be fun. A sequel to Halloween Spooktakular, Revenge of Jimmy takes place the following Halloween, after Hannah Marie's older cousin, Jimmy, was spooked by last year's monsters. Jimmy tries to stop Halloween, to prevent monsters in Hannah's favorite realm, the Fright Side, from appearing again. On the Fright Side, however, Scary Godmother and her friends, Harry the Werewolf, Bug-a-Boo, and Mr. Pettibone (a skeleton) are planning a Halloween bash. Luckily, Hannah, who adores Scary Godmother, saves Halloween by imagining homemade solutions for Jimmy's sabotage plans. When Jimmy kicks holes into all the town's pumpkin's, Hannah transforms them into the best Jack-O-Lanterns ever, and when Jimmy cuts off the store-bought candy supply, Hannah shows viewers how to make Smores. Scary Godmother and Hannah remind kids that Halloween is about about inventing fun and visiting with friends instead of shopping. With this inspiring message, and a simpler presentation of witchcraft than Harry Potter, Revenge of Jimmy can introduce the holiday, especially since it's packed with jokes to lighten potentially frightening scenes. --Trinie Dalton

3 out of 5 stars FUNNY AND FILTHY..........2006-12-02

"Scary Movie" parodies a number of teen scare flicks and other horror or suspense movies. A viewer who has seen movies such as "Scream", "I Know What You Did Last Summer", "The Sixth Sense", and "The Blair Witch Project" will better understand some of the jokes and sight gags around which the thin story line revolves.

This movie is not for anyone with delicate sensibilities, as everything, including erect male sex organs, pubic hair, flatulence, and other usually taboo subjects, are ripe for gags, most of which, while filthy, are often funny. If you do not like your jokes down and dirty, then this movie is definitely not for you.

The Wayans Brothers return with another horror-flick parody, this one taking shots at The Exorcist, Hannibal, and House on Haunted Hill, along with non-horror fare like Charlie's Angels. In addition to gags (and I do mean gag) about innumerable bodily functions, there are slyer jabs at Thomas Jefferson and Raging Bull. As in Scary Movie, the strongest humor comes from making fun of the inane behavior of characters in horror movies. Assisting Shawn and Marlon Wayans are Anna Faris, Kathleen Robertson (in the Carmen Electra role, providing the T&A), and David Cross, as well as Tori Spelling, Chris Elliott, James Woods (as an exorcist with bowel trouble), Andy Richter, and poor Tim Curry, who probably never thought his career would come to this. --Bret Fetzer

1 out of 5 stars TOTALLY WORTHLESS VIDEO.......2006-08-30

I rated this video one star because that's the lowest I could give it. It's not worth discussing. I ran it through my shredder.

1 out of 5 stars This DVD is so bad its embarrassing to watch........2006-08-25

I knew this was a "homemade" type of documentary but I never read in the description or reviews just how awful this particular DVD would be. His supposed interviews with a ghost hunter were done on the phone, not in person, with bad sound quality (interviewer is fidgeting with any number of things while the ghost hunter is talking) cheesy slapstick background pictures and noise/music meant to creep the viewer out I suppose but all it did was annoy me as well as made it hard to hear the interview. There is very little 'real' evidence as was stated in the ad and on the sites I went to, obviously paid for by the man who made the DVD. Plus, the 'real' evidence had nothing to do with the woodland haunting, it was all from the minnesota ghost hunters evidence files. He keeps saying throughout this short DVD that everything is real and to be taken seriously, he lived it, but its all done tongue-in-cheek with the poorest child reenactments this side of pee wee's playhouse not to mention the narrator is doing an elvis impersonation throughout the DVD. I cant say enough how awful this DVD really was and how embarrassing for those of us who respect the paranormal sciences and are trying to bring a better name to such, not make people shake their heads and wonder why the heck they bothered. If the person who made it had any interest in getting his story out, he would have taken a more professional approach to telling his story and giving whatever evidence he supposedly had rather than turning it into a 71 minute promotional DVD for the horror that must have been his first DVD on the same subject. Buyers beware, this is NOT a real documentary as it states, its a very long promotional DVD and a very poor comedic attempt, it was painful to watch the entire thing.

3 out of 5 stars Funny Movies...But They Fall Short!.......2002-12-18

Scary Movie 2 did not live up to all its hipe. I have 2 major complaints with this movie, keeping in mind that I loved the original. First, the length of the movie, which is a very short 74 minutes (approximately). I couldn't believe it was over so soon. When I watched the deleted scenes, most of them could have been left in the movie and most were funnier than what was in the movie. My second problem follows those lines. The movie was not all that funny. The first 15 minutes are absolutely great but it's all down hill from there. Of course there are a few more laughable scenes (espically those with the deformed hand). Most of the supposed comedy later in the movie is sexual humor but very dry at that. Overall, I would recommend you to rent Scary Movie 2 before buying it because you might be disappointed, even if you liked the original Scary Movie. If they make another one, I hope they read some of these comments.

Senseless is an alright movie. I didn't care for it as much as Scary Movie 2 but it has its laughable parts. Marlon Wayans plays a struggling college student working several jobs to make ends meet. He's also trying to win an entry-level job at a Wall Street firm. In order to make a few extra bucks, he agrees to be a medical test subject and takes a drug that is supposed to amplify all of his senses. Sure enough, the results of the drug are humerous and it is played well. Though, the writing falls short in comedy; even with David Spade as Wayans's enemy, the movie is never more than sporadically funny.

    4 out of 5 stars cooooool stuff!.......2002-09-11

I always thought that hot shot-2 is the best comedy remake till date, but scary movie-2 has made me redifine my thinking. Throughout the movie I couldn't sit at one place, cause I was jumping all over my room. So guys the bottom line is that don't miss it!!

This freewheeling parody tosses horror movies, Eminem, The Matrix, and much more into a cinematic blender. Scary Movie 3 centers around Cindy (Anna Faris, Lost in Translation), a bubble-headed young newscaster who believes that a deadly videotape has some mysterious connection to the aliens who've been making crop circles in the cornfield of a local farmer (Charlie Sheen, Young Guns), whose brother (Simon Rex) hopes to win a local rap contest. Along for the ride are Queen Latifah, George Carlin, Anthony Anderson, Pamela Anderson, Jenny McCarthy, Jeremy Piven, Camryn Manheim, Ja Rule, dozens of rap stars, and Leslie Nielsen as the President of the U.S. No need to have seen the first two Scary Movie flicks--though a few of the characters recur, the movie leapfrogs from gag to goofy gag, plundering The Ring, Signs, and The Others as needed. Silly and slapdash, but with a decent dose of laughs. --Bret Fetzer

5 out of 5 stars Signs meets Sixth Sense meets Abrams.......2007-06-11

Scary Movie 3 is the best of the 4 out there! I love Signs and this movie is a great knock-off of it and Sixth Sense. If you love the spoofs, this one is a must-have also! Get the popcorn out!!

3 out of 5 stars Scary Movie or Dumb Comedy? .......2007-03-13

Well there both. This film has some original characters from the first two movies, but new ones that makes this film almost a two star film. After I saw the second "Scary Movie" I thought Whoa, this is a load of crap. When I heard they were going to make another one, I almost didn't go, but I like the "Naked Gun" movies and decided to go. I still like the characters Cindy and Brenda and the movies new humor. What I don't like is its dumb characters (like the president) who's jokes are plain dumb (the pee coming out of the finger).

    5 out of 5 stars I love these movie!!!.......2006-11-27

The scary movie franchise keeps getting better, come on pt.4 Charlie sheen/MJ fight scene is worth the price of admission alone!

4 out of 5 stars Alien lifeforms watch Pootie Tang!!!.......2006-09-04

This movie really saw the Signs
    It circled round The Ring
    Then reloaded the Matrix
    And went battle rapping

It seems there was an evil tape
    That was in circulation
In seven days you wound up dead
    Amid much tribulation

Cindy found out that the tape
    Came from the Architect
He mixed it up with Pootie Tang
    Another movie wreck

    Charlie Sheen mocked Mel Gibson
    A fallen village pastor
His better half got cut in two
    (a marital disaster)

With square crop circles in his field
And a girl drowned in a well
    Charlie's got real problems
And he's seen his share of hell

    One thing about this movie
    It'll never leave you cold
It even has three stars who made
    The Playboy centerfold
