All roads lead to the Sanc Kingdom as the battle escalates between human warriors who follow a samurai-style code of honor and the Romefeller Foundation's attempt to use "mechanical dolls" (pilotless robots) to control Earth and Space. Treize Khushrenada, the leader of OZ, Romefeller's military arm, breaks with his superiors, declaring, "I think fighting in wars can indeed be beautiful." Gundam pilots Heero and Quatre return to Earth. Quartre is increasingly uncertain about his role in a world of rapidly shifting allegiances, but Heero assists the rebel "Treize Faction" of OZ. After a series of verbal and physical battles, the two pilots find themselves heading for the pacifist Sanc Kingdom. Lieutenant Lucretia Noin and Sally Po--who hadn't been seen for several episodes--recapture one of the surviving Gundams from OZ forces and take it to the Sanc Kingdom, now ruled by Relena Peacecraft. But Relena faces a new threat from Dorothy Catalonia, a blonde with double eyebrows, who may be the daughter of Duke Dermail, the head of the Romefeller Foundation. Director Masashi Ikeda manages to cram a lot of action into the story, even though episodes 27 and 28 consist almost entirely of flashbacks. Description
Hearing of Treize's confinement, Oz soldiers calling themsleves the Treize Faction enter the war against the Romefeller Foundation. Seeing the Gundam pilots as symbols of opposition, the Foundation begins the operation to eliminate the pilots. Without time to rest, Heero heads to gather information for his next battle when he hears of the Sanc Kingdom, Relena's home country. Acting as mercenaries for the Treize Faction, Heero and Quatre decide to stay in the Sanc Kingdom, where Relena promotes peace and pacifism. Angered by the pacifist nations, the Romefeller Foundation attacks the Sanc Kingdom - the Gundam pilots are thus called into battle once again.

Heroine of the Battlefield.......2004-04-15
While the review episodes help us to put things into perspective and remind us of how things have changed and progressed thus far, they also show how Relena and Treize (two characters who are strong and resolute despite objectives that run in entirely different directions) are about to pursue life courses that will change things for themselves and their loved ones forever.
Dorothy Catalonia is the perfect tragic heroine, and you can never tell whether she is joking, being sarcastic, or telling the truth. He scenes with Relena in particular are absolutely perfect. One of the greatest endings to any episode in the show has to be when Relena and Hero meet again (and we see how much both of them have really changed).
For Gundam Wing fans this is a must-have. But you already knew that.

BASIC PLOT:
The Gundam Wing series follows the exploits of five young men who pilot mobile suits against the forces of an organization seeking world domination. There's Heero (the main man), Duo (the cool guy), Trowa (the quiet guy), Quatre (the peace-lover), and Wufei (the overconfident hothead.) The battle rages on for forty-nine episodes, and as the series progresses, a number of plot twists keep things interesting. This is a rare example of a series where the characters aren't paper thin - they continue to evolve as the series progresses. This is one of the best anime series out there, as one of the best mecha series.
SERIES OPINIONS:
To put it simply, this is an excellent series. Many fans of the Gundam series call this the best sub-series of all, and honestly, who can blame them? The storyline is great, the animation is great, the characters are great - everything about this series is great. It's good to see the series get a long overdue DVD release in America.
DVD:
These DVDs are good, because they contain several uncut episodes, but they're bad in that they don't contain any special features (that is, other than the very basic DVD stuff.) The series is one of the greatest anime series out there, but don't expect any bonus material.
OVERALL:
Overall this is an excellent anime series, and I recommend it to any anime or mecha fan. If you like either one, this series will not disappoint.
