As 10-year-old Sakura Kinomoto's abilities as a Cardcaptor increase, her life grows more complicated. When she meets Sonomi, the mother of her best friend Tomoyo and the president of a major toy company, she discovers Sonomi is a cousin of her mother, Nadeshiko. Sonomi looked after the lovely, klutzy Nadeshiko when they were growing up and still resents Sakura's father for marrying her closest friend. But also she's mature enough to recognize that Professor Kinomoto made Nadeshiko very happy during her brief life. Sakura is enchanted to learn about her mother, who died when she was only 3. Kero, Sakura's irrepressible familiar, provides a comic counterpoint to serious feelings in these episodes, playing video games and demanding his share of any snack. Shaoran Li, the rude new boy from Hong Kong, continues to compete with Sakura as magical Clow Cards appear and have to be subdued. Matters take a turn for the worse when Li develops a sort of crush on Yuki, the high school student Sakura adores. No American cartoon studio would tackle this story line, fearing accusations of promoting homosexuality from conservative watchdogs. Li's attraction to Yuki isn't sexual, but the normal feelings of a lonely 10-year-old in need of a big brother/role model, and the emotional honesty only adds to the charm of Cardcaptor Sakura. Rated 13 and up, but story line aside, appropriate for a younger audience. The series is available in an edited format entitled Cardcaptors that aired on the Cartoon Network. --Charles Solomon

5 out of 5 stars A TRUE Long loved friendship!!!!!.......2006-10-01

Now, when I watched these episodes I LOVED them. But that's no suprise. Anyway, I think that Tomoyo should be Sakura's number one person, NOT Shaoran or Yukito!!!!

Episode 9#: Sakura isn't cheerful because of what the brat Shaoran said to her last night. He was saying she's not strong enough to be the master. So, Tomoyo and Rika feel bad and take Sakura to the store to shop to cheer her up! But when they get to Sakura's house Rika is suddenly under a sword trance! A sword appears in her hand and tries to slash Sakura and Tomoyo. Sakura though uses to uses a card that way she could seal that Sword card away.
Episode 10#
Time has passed...Sakura and Tomoyo have known each other for a whole year now. When Sakura and Tomoyo go to the school festival they meet their parents there. But right away truth comes out. It turns out that Sakura's long dead mother and Tomoyo's mother , who is a owner of a big toy company, were counsins! But when Sakura's mother Nadeshiko died she was only 27. Sakura was only three years-old after it all happened. Tomoyo's mother Sonomi HATES Sakura's father because near the end of Nadeshiko's life HE was there more then Sonomi. Sonomi LOVED Nadeshiko dearly. Just like Tomoyo loves Sakura to pieces. It was a great shock to Sakura and Tomoyo that they were cousins. But that was the day when Sakura and Tomoyo told each other that they love each other very much.
Episode 11#:
Sakura is going to visit Tomoyo's house for the very first time. Because Tomoyo asked Sakura to come over because she had a problem she needed Sakura for. When I saw tha part, at first I thought something like this was going wrong, like if Tomoyo got ill or hurt or soemthing like that. I LOVE Sakura and Tomoyo so much that I even worry about then when something goes wrong!!! Mental, right? Anyway Sakura is in a state of shock when she sees Tomoyo HUGE mansion. Because Tomoyo's family are very wealthy. Sonomi comes from the toy company to eat cake with the two girls and talk with them. But Sonomi sometimes feels sad to watch the Sakura and Tomoyo play, for two reasons. The first reason is that the girls must remind Sonomi of herself and Nadeshiko. And since Sonomi already taught Tomoyo to stay away from men, she worried that Sakura might get mixed up wuith a boy and Tomoyo's feeling will get hurt. So, of course Shaoran just had to step in the girls way!!! That makes me gag!!! Anyway Sonomi got called to the toy company so she had to leave. Sonomi loves Sakura dearly. Because Sakura is the daughter of Sonomi's passed away counsin. Sonomi tried to spend as much time with her only daughter Tomoyo as well. When Sakura and Tomoyo return to Tomoyo's bedroom Tomoyo explains that the problem is that her box that contains something that's very precious to herself and her mother won't open. They have the key. But it just won't open. It's the Sheild card. Sakura uses the Sword card and cuts open the barrier and seals it away. Tomoyo reveals that her most precious item is an eraser. Why? Because that is the first thing Sakura ever gave her, and she gave to her when they first met!! Sonomi's most precious thing is cherry blossoms because it was Nadeshiko's favorite flower.
I didn't get a chance to watch number 12 yet, so.

I STILL THINK that Tomoyo and Sakura are better together then Sakura and Shaoran. Because honestly, I did not like the way Shaoran treated Sakura in the beginning. Also, Tomoyop treats Sakura like a sister. They care for each other, NEVER once had a fight. That's why I love the first movie better then the second.

Do, buy this product
It's VERY touching!!!!
It's worth your money.

5 out of 5 stars Sweet? You betcha!.......2002-09-18

Just like the two DVDs before it, FRIENDS FOREVER is a wonderful set of episodes. Sakura is just as adorable as ever and we start to see even more of the relationships - Li, for example, along with his interactions with everyone else. After all, he didn't join us until the last episode of the second DVD.

On this DVD, Sakura is faced with challenges such as saving the life of her friend while trying to capture the card controlling her and battling a card that turns back time! There are also two adorably sweet episodes that address the relationship between Tomoyo's mother and Sakura's mother and Sakura gets to learn more about the mother she never knew. No shortage of moments to 'Awww' over on this DVD!

Also, as a nifty bonus, there's an art gallery in the extras. Included are about 25 pictures of Sakura and her friends - concept drawings showing different poses and facial expressions, along with the occasional battle costume. It's not a whole lot but it's cute to flip through once or twice. Like the rest of my Sakura DVDs though, I buy for the show, not the extras.

I was just as thrilled to see this one as I was the previous two - Sakura is still just as darling as ever. The artwork is gorgeous, the voice acting wonderful, and you'll find yourself laughing and smiling in no time.

5 out of 5 stars I'd rate this a million stars if I could!.......2002-09-04

Now here's some great animation! It's nothing like the stupid dub Cardcaptors, it's over a million times better! It's so sweet and cute, and also funny! Buy the subtitled version instead of the dub. To all those people who buy the dub, you don't know what you're missing!
