The most elaborate of the features to date, Pokémon 3: The Movie, Spell of the Unown introduces new Pokémon that debuted in the fall of 2000 in the Gold- and Silver-edition Gameboy games. En route to the Johto Tournament, Ash, Brock, and Misty visit the mountain village of Greenfield, where they encounter an 8-year-old girl named Molly. Her father, Professor Spencer Hale, disappeared when he set off to study the Unown, a group of 26 Pokémon that resemble letters. The Unown build a baroque crystalline shell around Molly's palatial home, send the leonine Entei to watch over her, and grant whatever she wishes--except the return of her father. What Molly really wants is a family: she refers to Entei as her father and has him kidnap Ash's mom to be her mother. Ash charges to the rescue with the help of Pikachu, Charizard, and Cyndaquil. In the climactic battle, Ash is joined by Brock and Misty, as well as the usually villainous Team Rocket. ("We figure if we don't help you, we're outta showbiz," Meowth explains.) Molly's father eventually reappears, but the viewer never sees the reunion with his daughter. Ash, Molly, and the other two-dimensional characters simply don't fit into three-dimensional, computer-generated crystal settings, and large sections of Pokémon 3 look like two movies unsuccessfully spliced together. A short is also included, "Pikachu and Pichu," in which the popular electric Pokémon wanders through a big city, getting into mischief with the mouselike Pichu brothers. --Charles Solomon

Product Description
Pokemon Ranger and The Temple of the Sea:
It all started with a legend passed down from the People of the Water... Somewhere in this world, there is a Sea Temple created by the People of the Water. The Sea Temple contains a hidden treasure called the Sea Crown, but no one has ever seen the Sea Crown, or even the Sea Temple, because the temple is protected by a secret mechanism. The temple drifts through a vast ocean undetected, waiting... waiting...
Ash and Pikachu meet Lizabeth, a descendant of the People of the Water, and learn about the legend. They also meet Jackie, a Pokémon Ranger on a secret mission to protect a Manaphy egg (Manaphy is mysteriously known as The Prince of the Sea) and find the Sea Temple as well. The Phantom plans to obtain the Sea Crown and take over the world - but first he needs the Manaphy egg. Now Lizabeth and Ash must help Jackie protect the egg and stop the nefarious pirate! What is the Sea Crown? How does Manaphy's mysterious power connect it to the Sea Temple? Can Ash help Jackie complete his mission?

Pokemon Ranger & Temple of the Sea.......2007-07-03
My son (8) loves this CD set, especially with the extra bonus discs. He watches them all over and over again - he's quite a Pokemon Fan.
Good movie bad voices.......2007-06-10
I love the whole plot of the movie and really wished they had Misty in somewhere because this would be here element. But the voice-over is something to be desired it's not that I totally hate the voices it's not that it just takes some getting used to.
Pokemon pleaser.......2007-05-30
My 10 year old son who is wise in all things Pokemon was excited over its arrival and said it was one of the best Pokemon yet!
Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea Review.......2007-05-13
Well basically this is a movie about how Ash and friends encounter a Manaphy Pokémon Egg from a traveling performers. One of the people there is a Pokémon Ranger who's mission is to get Manaphy back into the sea to find the Sea Temple to protect it from the evil Phantom the Pirate who is after the Sea Crown.
The movie is pretty good, some will think it's similar to how Max & Jirachi became really close; May becomes really close to Manaphy, whom thinks May is it's mother. (kinda like Togepi with Misty)
I myself thought they could've had alot more battling in this movie since the point of Pokémon is to battle and collect Pokémon, this is why I only give it 4 stars, because it could've been so much better.
Not the greatest not the worst.......2007-05-12
All the voices were wrong and it kinda threw off the movie but other than that it was an ok movie not pokemons best but my 5 yr old likes it.

I am no illusion.......2007-02-24
This was the third Pokemon movie to be release since the original first movie was released back in 1998. A word of warning even though I was in my teens when I saw this movie it gave me nightmares for about 2 weeks after I saw it the first time in VHS format. Even though the Pokemon TV series was supposed to be meant for ages 7 and up I do not recommend this movie to any one under the age of 15 due to heavy violence, large amounts of thematic elements, action sequences, and occasional scary images. This movie takes place during the Joto series. After ashes' mother is kidnapped by Entei on of the legendary dog Pokemon ash makes a heroic journey to rescue her. Entei takes ash mother to a girl named Molly who thinks Entei is her father. "During the beginning of the movie Molly's father was reading her a book and pretending to be Entie. Unfortunately shortly after leave for a dig Molly father was attacked by the Unknown who imprisoned the Professor in another dimension. Shortly after world the unknown took over control of the whole mansion. The unknown brought Entie out of Molly's dreams into the real world. It's up to ashes to prove to molly that Entie is not her father and to free his mother and mansion of the supernatural powers of the unknown. Can ashes once again come to the rescue and save the day? Find out in the thrilling conclusion.
Spell of the unown.......2006-06-27
My favorite part is,when they made sharp japenese actions and manga. pokemon is one of my favorite manga (japnese comics) show.
the story is about,
molly, an 8 - year girl,
dreaming that her papa was entei. as long as molly believes in entei,he can do anything, including breaking the spell of the unown.
the jhoto faceoff is one of my favorite chapters.
it's because i saw the evovled\unevovled form of wobuffet.
and i like The huge battle of charizard vs. entei.
actually,entei is also fire type.
it uses pressure.
As entei brought a mama for molly, entei and molly tries to keep
ash from getting his mom back. he asks his chikorita and bulbasaur to use vine whip,
but while he climbs,it gets to much for chikorita and bulbasaur,
but he finally made it up in time.
when he tries with cyndaquil the use its flamethrower, the crystal goes replaced. but with vulpix, staryu, and totodile,
they got through.
the first battle was against brock.
brock was on a 3 on 3 pokemon battle stadium as ash and misty ran up the stairs.
the first pokemons were zubat vs. flaffy.
2nd pokemons are vulpix vs. teddiursa.
3rd pokemons are onix vs. phanpy.
next, misty was up to battle molly.
1st pokemons for this underwater battle,is goldeen and kingdra.
2nd are staryu vs.mantine.
after that chapter, she cries no!!!!!!!! when she does not want ash to get her mom. after that totodile is deafeated by entei.
cyndaquil is deafeated too.
also pikachu and ash almost falls into a pit of spikes.
luckily,charizard catchs them.
the charizard was up to battle. it was a long battle, but after the huge battle,i spike apeared next to ash. then a unown wreak havoc happens. it's because, the unown genarated so much psyhic energy, that it can't stand it.
the havoc stops and everything turns back to normal. now greenfield is restored and molly's papa returns.
but pikachu and pichu does with a special ocassion.
when ash says that they can do anything,
pikcahu wanders off with the pichu brothers.
but when they find a board in the water, a gyrados lifts the pikachu and pichu brothers out, falling onto a houndour.
it gets angry and chased them. but in the junkyard, they were safe, and they had alot of fun until houndour apearred.
and then they run across the junkyard, they climb up a pile of wheels's,and after that, the wheels fall down and pikachu and the pchu brothers peeked out and lifted the tire that houndour was under.but then, the junkyard building began fallinng, ropes are untied,
wheels are falling. the junkyard crew of pokemon ran out and helped pikachu, houndour and the pichu brothers.
and when pikachu gets home, ash prepares a special food party for
a occasion for the day we first became friends.
Tripped Out Delight.......2006-03-15
It's sad to admit, but as an avid Pokemaniac, I've seen all the Pokemon movies released to the present time, and own the majority of them. With that in mind, I can honestly state that this is the finest cinematic piece associated with the Pokemon name, and remains one of my favorite animated films.
In terms of plot, this film has one which is quite rich compared to the rest of it's contemporaries. A flock of psychic Pokemon named the Unown are able to take the thoughts and wishes of a little girl named Molly, and render them into reality. It sort of parallels that famous Twilight Zone episode in which a little boy can use his omnipotent powers to terrorize his family, however, with Pokemon being aimed at children, it isn't quite so sinister in its delivery.
The animation of this movie is very lush. The landscapes are extremely well done, and certainly stand out as one of the film's major highlights. The self-induced surreal world in which Molly inhabits is glassy, effervescently crystalline, very hallucinogenic. In one segment of the film, Ash (in attempts to rescue his kidnaped mom), runs up a set of stairs, suspended in a green void, with stagnant orbs floating above and underneath him. Most enjoyable.
The battles in this film are enthralling as well. In one of them films many strange sequences, Misty battles Molly literally underwater, although both are able to breathe without drowning. Brock's battle with Molly in an imaginary meadow of flowers follows. And the climactic fiery slugfest between Charizard and Entai is one of Pokemon's high points.
It's a shame that Pokemon 3 was released at a time when Pokemania was in sharp decline, being that this movie really is superior to it's two predecessors (as well as all films which followed for that matter). Recommended for fans of animated films. A must for Pokemon fans.
Nine Pokemon movies, and this one is still my fave.......2006-01-22
Although the Japanese version of Mewtwo strikes back gives it a run for its movie, Spell of the Unown really is the best of the Pokemon movies in my opinion. It was the last theatrically released PokeMovie that people actually saw in theaters (4 and 5 were hard to track down, even if you lived near tons of cimemas), it wasn't used as a giant advertising board for pop stars like the first movie, and it wasn't edited as badly as the first two.
I won't give away the plot, but I will say this: the movie leaves a lot unsaid, which is one of the reasons I love it. For one thing, am I the only one who thinks that Entei was NOT just an illusion? Number one, it's shown through the fact that the Unown made Entei take Ash's mom to serve as Molly's mother, that they couldn't just create one. The Unown can alter reality, but it doesn't make sense that they could create an entire thinking, feeling soul. Did you know that (in the dub version anyway) Entei and Molly's father are voiced by the same person? Also, the parting words Entei says to Molly before he goes are the same as her father's. This may sound crazy, but I think that while Spencer Hale's body was floating through the Unown dimension, his mind was within Entei, only he didn't know it, he knew only that he must serve Molly. Sounds crazy, but makes sense, no?
There's also the mystery concerning her mother and how she reappeared later (in the credits) after the Unown mess had finally been solved. Remember the line where Molly's father says , "I've been looking for [Unown] ever since...for a long time." The commentary on the DVD suggests that Molly's mother may also have disappeared while studying the Unown.
It's got nice action and some great battles, it doesn't involve Ash saving the world, it has a simple yet deep message, oh yeah, and I LOVE the score. I don't know if it's the same as the Japanese version, but even if it isn't, I love it.
A great movie overall.
Three times the battle.......2005-11-02
In this movie we are introduced to some new pokemon. Unknown black pokemon who look like letters. Enti and leader fire dog pokemon. When young molly's father is exaiming a ruin he is captured by the unknown and imprisoned in another dimension. This movie saw they return of Brook who is in every film from here one and Misty who is in ever film until Jirachi. Miss her father unknow send Enti to live with emily. Wanting a mother Enti kidnaps ash father. As runs to the mansion which is turned into and ice place. Enti won't let molly go. There is one really intense part when as has a near death experience and falls from the mansion. Just when it looks like its over he is saved by Charizard who cathcs ash on his back. Cahrizard no total loyal flies ash to the top Where they do battle with Entie. Charizard is pined to the ground by Entes foot. Just as Ente's fixing to kill Charizard. Molly now tired of the violence comes to ente in tears begin him to spare charizard. Then unknown who had been harvesting it's power from Molly imagination unleash to much power and lose control. It all leads up to the dramatic battle between Entie and the unknowns. With unknow defeated Emily father is freed and returns home. Unfortunately the reunion of emily and here father is not shown. This and Pokemon two thousands where the only movies ashe's mother appeared in. If you like this see mew II Returns.

#311 - The Rivalry Revival - Ash and Gary finally face off in battle! Also, Brock returns!
As I've stated in earlier reviews, the Orange Islands series is considered by many to be the best of all the Pokemon series. This collection of episodes is great, explaining all the events leading up to the first Johto episode, plus plenty of great battles. A must have for any Pokemon fan.

the first three film in one.......2007-04-28
This contain the first three movies together in one book. A word of advice if you allready have Pokemon 2000 Pokemon 3 or Pokemon Mewto strikes back if you have 2 out of three order the one you don't have individuasl get it in like new conditon to save a ton of money. If you by these three together try to get one of the first five copies avilable if you want to get all three used together for under $30. Do not by the last copy listed on the final on the last page for it is very pricy it is over 60 dollars because for these three together because there practically spotless with not a single scratch or finger print on them. This contains the first free movies. A word of warning even though the pokemon were meant for kids 7 to 12 I think the violence is to intense at the midway points and near the end of the movie in these first three films. Do to somewhat heavy violence for an animated movies of there times these movies might be to intense for kids under the age of 15 if they get startled or scared easily. I was about 16 when I saw number three the part when ash almost fell to his death after being hit by a energy blast by Enti gave me nightmares for about three days before I got over it. Here is brief snopsis of the first three films for those of you that never saw this because you thought it was nerdy or you weren't interestersted. In pokemon Mewtwo strikes nback the evil Gevonia creates the ultimate pokemon called mew two a gentic clone of mew but drastically bigger and a lot more musclar about 3 to 5 times the hight of regular mew and 8 times more musclar. A pokemon who's pyhsic powers are so strong he could defeat a Gardos 5 time his hight in under a minute. After mew II escapes he aducts one of nurse joys uses here as his minion and the lowers pokemon trainners to his island to clone them to see which are the stronger. Can ash and Picku and his companions misty and broke stop this genetic pokemon nightmare that scientist blindly created. In Pokemon 2000 it had been several months since the incident with mew II no one that witeness the occasion remembers what happened. To end the fighting ash rused out to stop the fighting putting his own life above that of his pokemon. Ash stopped the fighting but was hit by a physic blast from mew and mew II. Ashe's noble act as he lays unmoving on floor stops the fighting. Pikachu think ash is gone for ever weeps at the lose of his companion. The pokemon tears from pikichy and the other pokemon revie ash and heal his wounds and he becomes active again. Then battle is aerased from the mememories everybody except the vile Gevioan but that's story's 2 sequeals from now. After ash is blown of course he crash lands on Sumdie Island along with his best friends misty and his temporary new companioon Tracy who is taking the place of brock who left near the end of season on or early season II to work for proffesor ivy. Broke does makes a brief camo apperance in this movie when he's wrestling some pokemon but all he say its ah then goes away. Can Ash Misty and Tracy stop and evil collector who seeks to collect the four Legendary birds Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno use the three of them to bring out a fourth legnedary bird Lugia the most massive legendart bird ever created. Big enough to care ash and Pickuu on his back while time rocket holds on to his tail. When moltres and Zapdos are captured a fighting breaks up between the three birds. Threatening the earth with super bad weather capalble of destorying millions of homes and take the lives of thousand of innocent humans and other pokemon possiblt too. Can ash with aid of Lugia and three orbs scatterd on three island bring peace to the world and save it from total destruction. I also thought I'd inform you this movie has a somewhat stupid and cheesy ending compared to the some dramtic ending of the previous movie. So if you don't want to see the final scene before the credits you can fast foward through it or skip it and jump straight to the credits by pressing the jump foward a scene button on your dvd player remote. A few months after saving the whole orange island and the rest of world ash is back again Tracy has left and has been replace with brock again. This time Ash must once again for the third time save the world from destruction from two new pokemon. The legendary fire dog pokemon Enti and a powerful new set of pokemon the Unknown phonimal pyshic powers that they can turn realty into fantasy even bring Enta out of the world of the story books into the real world. If that wasn't worse enough the girl mowli fathers is abucted by the unknown and msitake enti as her real father. Then send enta to find here a mother. Enta kidnappes ash mother. Can Ash rescue his mother with his companions broke and misty and once again saved the world for a third time from total obileration. If you like these you should also see the other movies. Although I thought I'd inform you a couple of movies after this spefically Pokemon Heroes and Mystery of mew have strange and somewhat sad and depressing endings and scenes in them occasionally.
The movies were great.......2007-03-28
They are short and yet entertaining for all kids. The only part is that if you want to watch the movie, you have to skip ahead through the Pikachu Adventure manually. Not very kid-friendly. Thanks!
Making it easy to catch 'em all.......2006-11-10
Although we own all the video games and tons of cards, and watch the TV show, I was trying to avoid buying the DVD movies. Then came the day when we just had to have them. And not just some of them, of course, but all eight. I won't talk about the content itself, because the quality is somewhat uneven, but if you have to have them, and you know you do, this three pack is a little easier, and a little cheaper, than getting them separately.
My child loved these movies........2006-03-14
My 4 year old LOVES Pokemon, in a big way. These movies had a colorful variety of all the Pokemon. And they presented a good moral at the end of each movie. I thoroughly enjoyed these movies with my child, and would recommend it to any child that likes to see new creatures, or Pokemon :)

Customer Reviews:
pokemon movie.......2007-01-07
a must have for all you pokemon fans! great movie, a must have to watch over and over!
Good movie!.......2006-08-17
I am a fan of Pokemon and I love this movie. However, on this DVD, there are just way too many parts with Ash. I understand that he's the "hero" of the series, but COME ON. Why not let Team Rocket's star shine through?
But anyway, there are five episodes on this DVD. (I'm going to list the titles along with my ratings. I'll be descriptive later on.) They are, in order:
1)Come what May~5/10
2)Cheer Pressure (title episode)~10/10
3)Game Winning Assist~3/10
4)Fight for the Meteorite~5/10
5)Poetry Commotion~4/10
Now to be descriptive:
1)Come what May--I gave this one half-credit, so to speak, because of two things-1, May enters her second contest with Beautifly and wins, and 2, Jessie's Dustox makes its contest debut. (Personally, I like Dustox better than Beautifly; if you think I'm crazy that's your opinion.) Basically, what I described are really the most important things that happen in this episode.
2)Cheer Pressure--My fav and best episode on the DVD! This is the reason I gave this movie four stars. (I was only going to give it two, but this episode saved it.) Basically what happens is Ash and the gang come across some kind of cheering facility in the mountains on their way back to Lavaridge Town. They are asked to do test battles against Team Rocket-in disguise, love the shades, James! (Sorry 'bout that; I couldn't resist!) The battles result in this:
1)James vs. Brock-winner: James--YAY!!!!!!!!
2)Jessie vs. Ash-winner: Ash--phooey!!!!!
3)Game winning Assist--May's Skitty learns the move Assist. That's pretty much the most important thing in this episode. I also thought this one part in this episode was mean, because May and Skitty get trapped in TR's robo-Numel, set it on FIRE, and get out, leaving TR to fend for themselves. Had this been real life, and had they not gotten out, well, it would suck. That's why I rated this episode so low.
4)Fight for the Meteorite--Team Magma and Team Aqua return! The teams duke it out to try and use this meteorite's power for evil, while Ash and Professor Cosmo try to stop them. Let me say that Ash is shown in this episode WAY TOO MUCH!!!! There are minor flashes to the rest of the kids and TR, waiting in a cable car hanging over Mt. Chimney. There's one funny part, however, when May, Max and Brock are about to eat sandwiches, when they notice the ever-hungry Team Rocket. James and Jessie go over to eat with the kids, while Meowth lectures that they shouldn't. But he immediately gives up when he sees his buddies eating, and goes to eat himself.
5)Poetry Commotion--Absolutely horrendous. The only good parts are with TR and Gym Leader Flannery. All that happens is Ash and the gang help Flannery clean up her gym while they talk about Flannery's grandfather, who went to write Pokemon poetry. He returns, when he realizes that Flannery can't take care of the gym on her own and he goes to help her.
That's what happens in all five episodes on the DVD. My final rating is this: If you absolutely can't stand the sight of Ash, are a Team Rocket fan like me, and want to buy this DVD, get it for Cheer Pressure. Team Rocket is awesome in it!

YAY MORE POKEMON.......2005-09-17
this dvd features cool episode such as
A BITE TO REMEMBER- this episode features a feisty poochyena that is always using tackle desperetly wanting to see a pokemon evolve max starts to train the little poochyena
THE LOTAD LOWDOWN- in this episode Brock cathes a lotad and a little girl gets a crush on him
ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFLY- May finds her passion for pokemon when she meets two trainers and watches their venomoth and beautifly do amazing stunts and tricks
BONUS EPISODES ONLY ON DVD
ALL IN A DAY'S WURMPLE- the group is walking in a forest when a wurmple jumps in front of May scaring her realizing wurmple can evolve into beautifly she wants to catch it but later on finds out team rocket's after the same wurmple
GONNA RULE THE SCHOOL- finally reaching Rustboro city Max and May become fascinated with the pokemon trainers school Max attends a begginer trainers class and befriends a shy poliwag while May takes a class to be in pokemon contests
I Want to Be a Hero.......2005-06-15
Pokemon Advanced: A Bite to Remember contains episodes 23 through 27 of the 52-episode sixth season of Pokemon. The trio of Ash, Brock, and Misty is now a quartet: Ash, Brock, and brother and sister Mai and Max. Mai is cute, but does not like to study or use other words besides "awesome."
Episode 23 (Season 6) - A Bite to Remember - On the journey to Rustboro City and the gym there, Max tries to force a cute little Poochyena to evolve. I don't think he should force it. It is cute as it is, and look how long Ash has had Pikachu, and it has not evolved into Raichu. Team Rocket plays on Max's concerns with an "evolution machine" that has Meowth dressing up in different Pokemon costumes. Funny!
Episode 24 - The Lotad Lowdown - Brock befriends a cute little Lotad, a water-lily type Pokemon. The gang finds a Pokemon preserve managed by two sisters. The little sister develops a crush on Brock, while Brock pines over the older one.
Episode 25 - All things Bright and Beautifly - At last, Mai has found her calling. She meets two friends who participate in Pokemon "contests." The contests are not battles; attacks are judged on beauty, skill, and poise of trainer and Pokemon. May falls in love with the pretty ribbons winners get. This episode is absolutely hilarious because Jessie enters the contest completly unprepared, putting her Sviper in a nervous sweat. I was laughing my head off.
Episode 26 - All in a Day's Wurmple - The stunningly beautiful Beautifly evolves from a caterpillar-type Wurmpole. Mai and Jessie both race into the forest after the same Pokemon.
Episode 27 (Gonna Rule the School) - Finally arriving in Rustboro City, Ash is dismayed by being delayed at going to the gym, as Mai and Max are very taken with a Pokemon Academy that teaches kids all about Pokemon. The school has a vault of Pokeballs containing Pokemen each wearing the school emblem, and who will obey any trainer. Team Rocket is delighted at the prospective haul.
This DVD is great because it contains the last two episodes as "Bonus Episodes" instead of the usual three episodes. DVD is only available in English Dub. I world love to have the option to hear the Japanese voice actors.
Poochyena, contest battles, and more.......2004-06-18
This DVD contains five episodes, two of which will not be included on the VHS version. They are:
A Bite to Remember: Ash and co accidentally stumble into a Pokemon preserve. There, they meet Katrina and her pack of Mightyena. They also meet Katrina's Poochyena, which hasn't evolved into Mightyena yet. Max is intrigued and is determined to help this Poochyena evolve. This is a great episode, and it's one of my favorites over the entire season so far.
The Lotad Lowdown: Ash and co take a break at a lake to swim. They learn that this lake is inhabited by playful Lotad that can use Water Gun. Brock is drawn to one Lotad that can't quite do everything right. They also meet three girls who run a flower ship: Rita, Nicole, and young Natalie. Then, Natalie goes missing and Team Rocket tries to steal the Lotad! Can Brock and his new Lotad friend save the day?
All that's Bright and Beautifly: Ash and co have finally arrived at Rustboro City, and they find out about a Pokemon contest being held at Rustboro Hall. They also meet trainers Chaz and Janet with their Pokemon, Chaz's Venomoth and Janet's Beautifly. May falls in love with the world of Pokemon Contests. Meanwhile, Chaz tells Ash about an attack that will come in handy at the Rustboro Gym, Iron Tail. Ash and Pikachu struggle to master the attack in time. This is another great episode, Hoenn's Pokemon contests are just as exciting as battles and are one of my favorite features from the Ruby and Sapphire video games.
All in a Day's Wurmple: While walking through a forest, May is frightened by a caterpillar-like Pokemon called Wurmple. However, when her brother Max tells her that they evolve into Beautifly, May instantly wants it. Unfortunately, Jessie also wants a beautiful Beautifly. While May is out searching, Ash meets a young trainer named Forrest who challenges Ash to a Double Battle, in which each trainer uses two Pokemon at once. Ash, of course, accepts the challenge. Can May catch the Wurmple she desires, and can Ash master the challenge of a double battle?
Gonna Rule the School: Ash, Brock, May, and Max find a lost Poliwag in Rustboro City. They return it to its owner, Roxanne, a teacher in a Pokemon school near the gym. They also find that Roxanne is the gym leader! Before Ash can have his match, she has to finish teaching her Pokemon class, so they accept. Max is excited by the class and Roxanne lets him attend it for a day.
This is a great DVD, I give it 5 stars - mostly for containing episodes like "All that's Bright and Beautifly" and "A Bite to Remember." However, if you want the last two episodes, don't get the VHS version. Only the DVD has these two episodes.

Ash Ketchum continues to work toward his goal of becoming a champion Pokémon trainer as he challenges a trio of synchronized swimmers in "Cerulean City"; A.J., a stern trainer, in "League"; and the conceited champion of a posh prep school in "Hard Knocks." Assisted by Misty and his friend Brock, Ash also overcomes the inept villains of Team Rocket and learns lessons about modesty, honesty, and sportsmanship. Although Ash initially feels that A.J. drives his Pokémon too hard in "League," he discovers how deeply he cares for them when Team Rocket tries to kidnap Sandshrew, his favorite. In "Hard Knocks," Ash defends a smaller boy from bullying upper classmen, and shows the snobbish students that training Pokémon isn't an academic exercise, but a way of life based on friendship and mutual affection. Viewers not caught up in the Pokémon craze may find the idea of fighting high-tech duels with these cute little animals incongruous. But millions of kids in America and Japan embraced it, and they've given the Pokémon a higher profile than such earlier product-characters as My Little Pony, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and Herself the Elf. --Charles Solomon
Description
Can Ash Ketchum catch'em all? You bet! Especially with friends like Brock, Misy and Pikachu!
Customer Reviews:
I don't like Pokemon as much anymore but..........2003-12-28
I used to absoulutely love pokemon when I was eight(no not when it was a fad,I actually hated it then). On my ninth birthday,I had a fun sleepover with my friends and we watched this. It was neat, and the episode the vidio got its name from is my second favorite episode. I recomend this one over JigglyPuff Pop,witch is pretty boring. I wish I still liked pokemon that much...
Still good........2003-07-17
Yep, our "hero" Ash finally reaches Cerulean City, where he'll fight the local master for his badge. And this time, he's all alone. Misty left for no reason, and Brock had some "stuff" *cough* to do. Turns out the local master is 3 girls named Rose, Lily and Violet. And another shock. They're Misty's sisters. Gary has already been here and won a badge, and the pokemon are all exhausted, so they decided to just give Ash the badge. Misty doesn't want any of that, though, and challenges Ash herself. After a while, the battle is interrupted by Jessie and James, who have come to steal all the pokemon in the gym. Pikachu stops them by jumping into their soaked machine and shocking it till it explodes. And, since Ash wuld've easily won if he had used Pikachu, Misty's sisters give him the badge. Misty doesn't really agree, though.
So, following the game, they're on their way to Bill's cabin, eh? Or maybe they just go directly to the next town? Nope, the writers didn't want the show to end taht fast, so we get some feared filler episodes. Don't worry, this is good filler. Enjoy it while it lasts, cause in a few seasons, you'll hate filler with a passion. First off, Ash is informed about an unofficial gym nearby, where the savage pokemon master AJ lives. AJ doesn't want to start his pokemon journey until he's won 100 matches in a row, and is now up to 98. AJ is also one of the best trainers out there, and his Sandshrew easily defeat all of Ash's pokemon. Ash is a bad loser, and claims AJ was cheating. And later, he critizeses his training methods. Look, Ash, this guy's a lot better than you, so just shut up, okay? Jessie and James show up again and try to steal Pikachu, but accidentally steal Sandshrew instead. Sandshrew beat them up, and runs back. So, they go back to get Pikachu. AJ defeat their pokemon without any problem, and get his 100th win. Then he leaves for his journey.
Later, Ash still can't mind his own business, and critizeses Gizelle, the leader of a student program on Pokemon Tech, a school where you can study pokemon. Pass the exam, and you can enter the pokemon league without badges. And training, obviously, so I doubt you'd get very far. Anyway, Gizelle has a pretty special training system, and to prove her greatness, she challenges Ash. And loses. That makes her realize that her system isn't really that good, and that the school doesn't really teach you much useful stuff. J&J show up, and get defeated when the entire school gang up on them, and Ash continues his journey.
So, my opinion, eh? 3 pretty solid episodes. As much as I hate filler, I have to say that these were actually good. I didn't expect AJ to defeat Ash, but I'm glad he did. He was better, and whatever stupid plot device the riters would've come up with, I'm sure I wouldnt've liked it. Add in a couple've good battles, a gym leader episode, and some good plot, and you got a pretty decent pack. Not worth a 5 star, but still good.
My favorite episodes!.......2002-12-30
These are some of my favorite episodes of Pokemon! They're cute, funny, and exciting! I love this video!
Pokemon: Sisters of Cerulean City.......2000-05-29
This movie is funny, clever, and great for pokemon fans. It contains 3 pokemon episodes. They are: The Water Flowers of Cerulean City, The Path to the Pokemon Leauge, and The School of Hard Knocks. It also has the full length pokerap! This is one of the best pokemon movies I ever saw and I'm sure you'll like it too!
Okay I guess!.......1999-11-05
Okay I guess. I liked the first one but the second one I hate because the kid looses Shandshrew. I really liked it though when Pikachu made that funny face at Cubone.
