Based on a manga by Kosuke Fujishima, Oh My Goddess! was made into a popular five-part OAV in 1993-94. Keiichi Morisato acquired the goddess Belldandy as a girlfriend in a charming, small-scale domestic comedy. The feature (2000) is set three years later: Keiichi has grown more attractive and less maladroit. Belldandy remains essentially unchanged--until she encounters Celestin, her former "mentor." Celestin rebelled against the powers of Heaven and was imprisoned. Having escaped, he wants to resume his rebellion and reformulate the universe according to his designs. The filmmakers attempt to link computer viruses with apocalyptic mythology and the relationship between Belldandy and Keiichi. Although they made an agreeably mismatched couple in the OAVs, Keiichi and Belldandy simply don't have enough depth as characters to challenge what amounts to a Lucifer figure or support such a baroque story line. Rated 13 Up: brief nudity, risqué humor, violence. --Charles Solomon

As the second season of the popular romantic fantasy Ah! My Goddess begins, nearly a year has passed since Norse Goddess Belldandy came to Earth to be with kind-hearted nerd Keiichi Morisato. When she sealed away the Lord of Terror at the end of the first season, a certain amount of data got deleted in Heaven--including the contract linking her to Keiichi. To restore the missing file, he must remember the exact wording of the wish that brought them together. No soon has this problem been sorted out, then Christmas arrives. Belldandy and Keiichi search for appropriate gifts while Sayoko, the self-styled queen of the Nekomi Institute of Technology, tries to break them up. When Sayoko isn't causing problems, Belldandy's sisters Urd and Skuld and Keiichi's sister Megumi take up the slack. The filmmakers deliver the special mixture of sentimentality and slapstick that Ah! My Goddess Fans expect. (Rated TV PG, suitable for ages 12 and older: alcohol use, minor risqué and gross humor) --Charles Solomon
Description
It's been almost a year since the Goddess Belldandy came to live with college student Keiichi Morisato, and he's almost gotten up the nerve to kiss her. Unfortunately, the encounter with the Lord of Terror damaged some of Yggdrasil's systems, and the contract binding Belldandy and Keiichi is among the lost data. Christmas is coming up, and the lovebirds can only hope the information can be retrieved before The Almighty One orders Belldandy back to Heaven. Naturally Skuld and Urd try to help, but it might be better if they didn't. And worst of all, circumstances may have driven Belldandy to drink! What happens when a Goddess is (literally) drunk with power? Find out what happens next in Ah! My Goddess, Season Two.

SEPERATION.......2007-06-18
The computer that controls Heaven has been reset but some of its data has been corrupted or lost. Included in some of the lost data is the contract between Keiichi and Belldandy. Keiichi soon gets a call from God telling him that he and Belldandy don't have that much time left together. The two lovers accept their fate but Urd and Skuld aren't about to let it happen without a fight. They busily set about retrieving the fragements of the contract still left in the heavenly database. The main antagonist in these first episodes is not a demon or other supernatural being, but Sayoko, the spoiled rich queen of Keiichi's college campus. For the life of her, she can't figure out why Keiichi prefers Belldandy over her. I mean, she's got looks, money, and popularity. Unfortunately for her, she's going to find out that these things alone cannot attract a good man. In fact, she's extremely jealous of Belldandy and probably harbors an attraction for Keiichi that she would never admit to herself. When Belldandy knits a sweater for Keiichi, Sayoko goes nuts trying to outdo her. When Sayoko holds a Christmas party, one of her objectives is to outshine and publicly humiliate Belldandy. Sayoko is beginning to realize what it is she's missing: innate kindness. But due to being around Keiichi and Belldandy, she still has a chance to change.
If you can get through one of the most horrible anime theme songs ever recorded in the opening credits of this second season, you'll be gladly surprised that the quality of the show itself hasn't decreased at all. There's just something about Belldandy blowing on bagpipes that grates on the nerves. I really like the fact that Sayoko's character is getting more screen time and is being allowed to evolve. In the first season she was portrayed as a shallow, vacuous shell of a woman, much like Paris Hilton. But in these episodes she attains some depth and gets a bit of enlightenment about facets of her own personality that threaten to ruin her life. The comedy bits were just as funny as usual and Belldandy even lets her hair down when she gets drunk on cola and starts doing rampant acts of goodness! If you liked the first season, definitely continue with the second season.
Looking Forward to the second season.......2007-06-12
What a great start to a second season. I can't wait to gett all of the series
Season 2 better than frist.......2007-06-11
It's as if they went back to OVA saw why we love it so much. The gentile love story is back in season 2 and I am happy to see it. Ah My Goddess was my reintroduction to amine after years away and I have always love it.
get the TV season 2 thee won't be dispointed!
Great Comeback.......2007-05-30
The story picks up where it left off in season one after the Lord of Terror wreaked havoc in Keichi's hometown. After the LOT's defeat it's aftermath affected Keichi's contract with Belldandy (the contract became deleted) so in order for Belldandy to stay with Keichi, Keichi must remember exactly what he said when he first met Bell in order to activate the contract. if not, Belldandy will be forced to take the stairway to heaven and stay there forever.
Ep 2: 'Tis the reason for the season to celebrate!...except for Sayoko, whose reputation for campus queen recedes her rivalry with Belldandy. Being the daughter of a very wealthy CEO, Sayoko is often the center of attention, especially with the hopeful bachelors that often shower her with lavish and expensive gifts in order to date her. Frustrated and irritated with the goddesses, who show her that money can't buy everything, she sets her sights on Keichi in order to make the holidays a bit less painful, instead she gets to experience Keichi's unique ability to put his foot in his mouth and act like nothing happened. Amazing. Oh, and Belldandy makes something for Keichi for Christmas, to show her feelings for him, but it goes missing and it's up to Belldandy to find out who the culprit is and return it in time to surprise Keichi before the day ends.
Ep 3: Keichi wants to return the favor to Belldandy by giving her a ring for Christmas, but he's broke and the gift that he wants to give her costs $2000 bucks. With Christmas only 3 days away, watch how he manages to get the money (with some divine intervention) and surprise belldandy before deadline. Special guests include Sayoko and Hijiri. Will Keichi get the ring? and will the ring rule them all? watch and see...
Ep 4: Keichi and Belldandy receive an invitation from Sayoko to attend her party in her lavish mansion with the most powerful members of the Mishima group, pretty harmless, right?...WRONG! Keichi and the gang go to her party, and to everyone's surprise Sayoko still has a grudge with Belldandy and takes it out on her by making Bell take the spotlight on the stage in order for Sayoko to show off her talents and put Belldandy down, only to backfire on Sayoko. Hilarity ensues. Then to Keichi's surprise, even though alcohol doesn't impair Belldandy, we find out what REALLY does, it's pretty funny. It's up to Keichi to keep her out of trouble, but can he prevent Belldandy who is (literally) drunk with power from using it?
Just like season 1, season 2 is off to a slow start but it will get better as the plot differs from the manga a little bit. We'll get to meet new characters (a new goddess is one of them and one of my favorites) and revisit old ones, as well as new obstacles to Kei and Bell's relationship. Voice acting is real good, a great improvement from the 1st season. Extras include: Trailers, voice actors' comments on the first episode (really worth listening to!), textless opening and closing (for those that like to make AMV's) and character drawings.
Overall expect this season to be an exciting one. Even though the boxed set will come out later, this is something that fans of romantic comedy should not miss. And for those that downloaded the series before it even came out, shame on you!!! buy this asap. trust me you will be doing all of us a favor and encourage anime companies to come up with more great titles for everyone to enjoy. Thanks and have a good day.
It's good to have the goddesses back.......2007-05-21
Where oh where to begin? This is the first volume of the second season of the animated series based off of one of the most beloved romance/comdey manga of all time. Well first off a few warnings. First off if your new to the franchise, do not buy this one until you've become familized with the franchise or you'll be completely lost. And second to those who like and anime series to follow the manga it's based on word for word, you won't like this. For everybody else, the Goddess are back and better then ever.
Now for the actual review. The series picks up right where the last left off, the clean up after the Lord of Terror incident. The flow is nice and shows none of lag found in the mangas and keeps Keiichi and Belldandy's relationship rolling. I for one am very happy to see that the director is moving things along much faster then the manga. Mean their relationship has come along as far in the number of episodes as it had manga. Though this does mean a considerable trimming of the side stories and romances though given the opening not for long. Also they've reworked certain stories that I really don't know who they are going to fix the damage, the hand in hand story arc is completely wrecked unless they pull off some magic. Now on to something beside story line reorganization commentary. The music is just as wonderful as the first time around and the voice acting in both lanuages are spot on and every character sounds exactly as you imagine the would. The art is even better then the last time, the elongated faces are gone allowing for the character designsto really shine, i.e. the goddesses actually look as beautiful as goddesses. Though Keiichi still has elephant ears. Everything in the series is fluid and smooth. The series innocent, charming and warm feeling is back in full force with moments and scenes that you can't help but smile fondly at just remembering them.
In the end if you're a fan of the franchise or the previous series be certain to pick this one up. If not go back and pickup the rest of the series and then get back to this one, trust me you want to check out this franchise.

Customer Reviews:
Ah! Megami-sama: the best anime EVER.......2007-06-06
I may be your typical anime freak, but after the many series I've seen, I must say that this is the only one I've become a 'fanboy' of. Kosuke Fujishima originally created this series from a gag in his famous manga "You're under arrest!", and this one has turned out to be more famous (though the movie for "You're under arrest!" was not without success). The story begins with Keiichi Morisato, a student at the fictional Nekomi Institute of Technology; Keiichi hasn't ever had a girlfriend, and the only girl he ever asked out said "I'll think about it if you grow 20 centimeters taller." One night, Keiichi is sitting in his male-only dorm when the phone rings. The girl on the other end says that she will be visiting him, and hangs up. Seconds later, a goddess by the name of Belldandy pops out of Keiichi's mirror and, introducing herself, says that she has been sent to earth to grant any one wish of his, be it wealth or the destruction of the world. Thinking it's a trick by his upperclassmen, Keiichi thinks for awhile, then says "I wish for a Goddess like you to stay with me forever." No sooner is his wish granted than his upperclassmen come in and kick him out for having a girl in his room. After some searching, Keiichi and Belldandy find a Buddhist Temple run by a monk who allows them to stay if they perform chores. Upon witnessing Belldandy's use of her Goddess powers to do her chores, the monk feels that he is inexperienced, and he decides to go on a pilgrimage to train himself, leaving the Temple in the young couple's hands. Belldandy quickly becomes Keiichi's girlfriend, and things heat up when two more people move in to the Temple--Belldandy's older sister Urd, who tries to push the couple's relationship along, and Belldandy's younger sister Skuld, who tries to keep them apart.
Fujishima, being a motorist himself, uses motorcycle maintenance and racing as a very effective character development device. This series, which contains both shoujo (girls' literature) and shounen (boys' literature) elements, revolves around Belldandy's mystical world, Keiichi's life, and their relationship, and is sure to be loved by both males and females alike. It contains a tiny bit of slightly suggestive imagery, some mild language, and the occasional crude joke, but otherwise it's a good series for families. I highly recommend the Japanese version with English subtitles, not because the American voice actors are untalented (they're not), but because the translations they're given aren't too good.
Romance and Comedy collide with a Goddess.......2007-05-22
Ah! My goddess is one of the sweetest most heartfelt anime's on the market. Not weighed down by excessive ecchi (dirty humour) comedy like most romance/comedy's (eg.Mahurabo) this is one anime to that anyone can enjoy. not just anime fans, infact you can watch it alone or even with your family! Minimal course language, a few adult themes.
Ah! My Goddess tells the story of a university/college student who's very unlucky and is often ignored or has his good nature taken advantage of by his senior classmates. One night he rings a takeaway hotline and accidently connects with heaven. Belldandy, one of the most talented Goddesses in heaven arrives to grant him only one wish; unfortunatly heavens' rules are permanent and when Keiichi wishes that a girl like Belldandy would be with him forever his wish is granted and the story begins. Over the series additional characters and storylines are added. The traditional evil character is inserted to counter act the 'good' that belldandy is spreading.
The only drawback is that the plot sometimes has a few 'filler' episodes but because of the layout of the series these episodes arn't particularly annoying. Some anime fans might become irritated, itchy, or expirience respiritory problems due to Belldandy being too 'perfect'; and the introduction of Uber brat Skuld and the subsequent frustration of fans as she continually 'get in the way'. These are the reasons most people are turned off by the series. I believe the positive aspects of Ah! My Goddess far outweigh the negative.
Overall this series is sweet, heartwarming and contains momments of comedy. it's a feel-good series and the characters have depth and life. After you watch the series watch the movie, it's a complete tangent storyline but it ties in well with the series.
I'd recommend you watch the series (^-^)
p.s the series sounds better watched in the origional japanese audio
Nice box set.......2007-05-15

Many people complain that the story of "Ah! My Goddess" are naive,
but i loved this animation movie. The story are more well
developed than the TV series and the quality of the scenes are
better also. For the people Who believe in love.
Very good way to end a anime series with a great movie.......2007-02-10
Most of the time, all the interesting animes end on a sour note. Not Ah My Goddess. It actually rewards fans of the series with a sweet, touching movie.
Good visuals. Good music. Likable characters. Everything you want in a good movie.
A beautiful movie literally and figuratively..........2006-09-22
Boasting of breathtaking visuals and an incredible level of detail, Ah! My Goddess: The Movie is the answer to every true-blooded Ah! My Goddess fan's prayer.
Life has been smooth sailing for lovebirds Keiichi and Belldandy, but here they are confronted with their greatest trial yet. A few new characters are introduced -- the main antagonist Celestin, who used to be Bel's teacher; Morgan, a butterfly-like girl who's bent on helping Celestin achieve his goals; and Peorth, a first-class goddess who seems to have a lot of control up in heaven. The main conflict arises within Belldandy, as she is torn between her beloved teacher and her human lover.
Ah! My Goddess: The Movie takes on a more serious tone, and the few comical moments it has are restricted to the first part. It also gives us a glimpse of Bel's childhood... subsequently revealing what had caused the present situation. Audiences will also be treated to a more in-depth look at the goddesses' home -- heaven. Ah! My Goddess's depiction of heaven is rather interesting. It takes your idea of heaven (clouds, majestic palaces, and all) and merges it with cutting-edge technology. They use complex computer systems to run things, and become helpless when Celestin plants a virus that takes the network down. The goddesses also get to show off their great powers in spectacular fight scenes, proving that they are more than just pretty faces.
The art and animation are magnificently done. I thought the OAV series looked exquisite, but this movie takes the cake. The characters look even more refined (which I didn't think was possible), and they move about as fluidly as running water. In addition, the backgrounds are rendered via an excellent combination of cels and computers. Spanning almost two hours, Ah! My Goddess: The Movie will assault your senses and stir your emotions. A must-see and a must-have for fans of the series, as well as a superior piece of work in its own right.

The final episodes of the broadcast series Ah My Goddess (2005) introduce additional elements from Norse legends, including the Fenris Wolf and the Midgard Serpent. With some help from Skuld, Belldandy unleashes her full powers to save Urd and Keiichi from the Lord of Terror, who is also an embodiment of the Ultimate Destruction Program. Virtue and the love between Belldandy and Keiichi triumph over evil, as Terror suffers the humiliating fate of being degaussed. The story really ends with episode 24: A romance between a child version of Urd and a timid boy, and Skuld's foretaste of maturity feel like afterthoughts to fill out the number of episodes. But fans of this popular fantasy-romance aren't likely to quibble over problems of narrative structure as long as their favorite characters continue their usual high jinks. (Rated 13 and older: risqué humor, cartoon violence, alcohol use) --Charles Solomon

The world will be overrun by demons. The Valkyrie, Lind, is sent from heaven to execute The Lord of Terror by any means necessary and whatever host body it happens to be using. Belldandy in turn is given the holy flute to summon the mighty Midguard Serpent to fight, but The Lord of Terror can jump from one body into another, therefore escaping peril. Will she be able to take up arms against her sister Urd, or Skuld, or even Keiichi?

An excellent end to the first season.......2007-01-16
This wonderful series finishes up by resolving the Lord of Terror arc. When we left off, Urd was possessed by the mysterious entity. Belldandy had removed her power limiter to attempt to save her sister and the world. but h can freely move between and possess other bodies at will, making him impossible to pin down. The Almighty sends down the Valkyrie Lind to kill the Lord of Terror, but as long as he possesses someone that Belldandy cares about, she won't let Lind finish off the Lord of Terror. The way he was finally brought down... well I certainly didn't see it coming.
The final two episodes were specials in Japan, I think. The first involves Urd reverting to her child state and Skuld being advanced to an adult age. Both of these episodes were nicely done and touching, and seeing chibi-Belldandy AND Aoshima getting more Urd-style punishment makes it even sweeter. Problem is, now all of us AMG fans have to wait until Season 2 is released.
The entire series has been wonderful, with great storylines and beautiful animation and characters, and the final volume is no different. Highly recommended.
Best Of The Series.......2007-01-10
"Last Dance" has four episodes. The first two wrap up the crisis introduced mid-way through the last episode of Volume 5. There are several "false dawns" here- places where the villain is erroneously thought to be defeated- but our heroes have two things going for them: Belldandy's steadfast love, and Sculd's cleverness (even though the technology employed at the end is a bit dated now.) Also interesting is the continued borrowing of elements from Norse mythology.
The final two episodes give each of Belldandy's sisters a chance for romances of their own. Urd's is interesting (Urd has always been my favorite character in the series), but Sculd's is the real gem - she is suddenly propelled into the body of a young woman, with the emotions that go along with it, and her first crush is on the young human male she knows best- Keiichi! It was wonderful to see Sculd's view of Keiichi turned 180 degrees, and even if the audience suspects all along that it won't last even a whole episode, maybe this helped set the stage for the warmer, more tolerant view of Keiichi that Sculd holds in the Ah! My Goddess! movie.
good stuff.......2006-08-28
The fight between Beldandy and the Lord of Terror was completely amazing, and its conclusion left me awestruck. Plus it was nice for Skuld and Urd to get an episode and Skuld's episode was one of the funniest in the series! Best. Ah! My Goddess series. ever.

The 2005 TV series Ah My Goddess, the third animated incarnation of Kosuke Fujishima's popular manga, builds toward its climax. When Skuld has to go back to Heaven to perform her duties, she leaves behind an enchanted flan that turns Keiichi into a girl. His condition is only temporary, but it's still embarrassing. Urd also has duties, but she leaves Heaven without finishing them--and has her goddess license suspended as punishment. Her demon blood and her anger over the suspension leave her vulnerable to Marller's invocation to the Urn of Hakushon the Demon King. Is Urd really the long-dreaded Lord of Terror? It's difficult to take any threat in this romantic fantasy too seriously, but audiences can be sure whatever happens, Keiichi will try his best, but get the worst of it.(Rated 13 and older: risqué humor, brief nudity, cartoon violence, alcohol use) --Charles Solomon
Description
For the Morisato household, it is a time of change. First Belldandy has a change of attitude, from perfectly innocent to the perfect opposite. A little magic accident gives Keiichi's gender a change of its own. Urd has some changes in store when she walks away from her job in an attempt to save her sister's life. She has her powers revoked, and she turns to "the Devil in Miss Urd" to get them back.

I am not a kid i just did not want to sign in.All i can say is wow i love every volume of ah my goddess but this one is very close to my heart because this is the first volume of ah my goddess i ever seen and that is all it took to make me fall in love with it it also made me fall in love with anime.A frind lent it to me and i had to watch it every day when he got it back it would not play because i watched it so many times. But anyway it is very awsome i would recomend it to every one.
SKULD AT WORK.......2006-06-26
The conflict in the Ah My Goddess is caused by the passivity of its main character Keiichi, who even though he could ask Belldandy to do ANYTHING for him, he holds back. He really does love her but even though he's going to college, he's like a little boy when it comes to the opposite sex. Belldandy on the other hand, doesn't know a thing about the grittier sides of human relationships so she's never going to make a move...well, that's not entirely true. When Skuld finds out that Urd is making a magic pill that will embolden Keiichi, she sabotages the concoction. But on accident, it's actually Belldandy that eats it, and as a result, her feelings for Keiichi are magnified a hundredfold, to the point, to the point that she becomes a borderline tramp! In the next episode, when Urd and Skuld have to temporarily return to Heaven, Skuld again messes up things by turning Keiichi into a girl so nothing freaky will happen while she's gone! The last two episodes on Volume 5 feature Urd prominently as the mysteries of why her angel never appears are raised when Skuld wishes for her own angel after hearing Belldandy singing with Holy Bell. Marller, the ineffectual demon who wants revenge on our girls has gained a little more power by becoming the servant of "The Lord of Terror", a powerful demon who is currently trapped inside a bottle and will try to encourage Urd's questionable heritage in order to make its ambitions of destroying the world real.
This volume of Ah My Goddess was not a particularly enjoyable one for me. To me, the show is at its best when the magic takes a backseat to the characters instead of driving the plot, like the early volumes, when they were apartment hunting or when they were go-kart racing. Now, everything involves some magic gobbledy gook every installment, which is really quite boring. The character of Skuld has become increasingly annoying incrementally and serves no purpose other than being a wedge between Belldandy and Keiichi. That was another thing about Volume 5. It wasn't really that funny. We've started to get some darker undertones that do not suit the show at all. I like Goddess but I feel its best days are behind it.
The End of The Innocence.......2006-06-09
The quiet in the Morisato household is blown away in the most recent episode of this wonderful series. Urd and Skulds interference creates an opportunity for the relationship between Belldandy and Keiichi to take a major step forward. Later though, Skulds brattiness and the sisters uncompromising devotion to one another causes problems that threaten to change the storyline permanently. Unquestionably, the star of this series of episodes is Urd, who proves to be far more complex, and facinating, than her slacker reputation would have suggested.
I have found this series a genuine treat for the moment I first saw it, and my admiration for its story telling has only increased with this entry. While the ultimate happy ending is coming into question, I've got to see how this turns out. If you ever had an interest in this story, don't miss this entry.
Big progress both in story and relationship.......2006-06-04
Ok. Nobody yet gave any shred about what actually in the volume 5. I will do it, but not too much. The volume 5, In your eyes, is a volume where many big things happen. First, the relationship between Belldandy and Keich gets really upgraded. Urd tried to make a love pill that may make Keich to be a warrior of love. Skuld, who is always dedicated to protect Belldandy from Keich, put extra seasonings on the Urd's pill when Urd is out of her room. On top of that, Belldandy, not keich, took the effect-unknown pill, thinking that it is a candy. And, all the funny things are happening, because of it. I will say no more, otherwise Ah My Goddess lovers will kill me for leaking the secret. In the second episode, Urd and Skuld went to the heaven for maintanonce of the igdrasil system, leaving Belldandy and Keich alone together at the temple! Skuld, of course, prepared something that will protect Belldandy from keich's potential misdeeds. The ingenious idea of Skuld is a magic dessert that transforms Keich into a girl, well not 100% but almost. To return him back to a man, Belldandy tried medicines to Keich but unfortunately herself also got poisoned by deadly virus. And, the female Keich did lots of things to cure Belldandy. This episode has something very important but I will not say it here. But any way, the first and second episodes brings Belldandy and keich's relationship into a big big step forward. The third and forth episode is more serious than humorous. Skuld admires Belldandy's guardian angel, Holy Bell, and wanted to have one for herself. But she is too young and needs more power to create and support her own angel, so Skuld has training with Belldandy. So far, the story sounds like nothing fun but there is some complication with Urd too in terms of the guardian angel matter. Ooh, I may have said too much.... But, one thing that I do want to say is that this episode has my favorite scene where Urd commands her guardian angel to appear, which is truly moving and touchy. The last episode of this volume contains a story jumping to heavy realm from the overall romantic tone of the entire show. This episode in fact opens the whole series of stories for Volume 6 (The Last Dance). Urd became the legendary Lord of Terror who is believed to possess the power of ultimate destruction. Hand-in-hand with Marla, the demon and also a sworn enemy of goddess, Urd attacked the temple with power beyond that of her two sisters. I am not blowing too much whistle, this is already known in Vol. 6 product introduction any way. So, all in all, volume 5 certainly forwards dramatically in both Belldandy & Keich relationship and the scale of storyline. As always, brilliant pictures and beautiful music. I think that this volume is one that you must listen to in Japanese original recordings rather than English dub. Because there are so many vocal nuances and delicate tones that simply don't be generated other than in original language. Can you imagine that Urd is saying in the same way as Belldandy does in whispering soft tone? Oftentimes, I found movies that others recommend are actually boring to me, so that I seldom believe others advice on movies. But, I cannot help praise it so much that this series is a something different.
Back on track, thank god!.......2006-06-02
I was a little worried after the last AMG! disc that the plot was going to turn into one big horrid jumbled mess with gimmick after gimmick character introduced.
Glad to say that wasn't the case. If the last volume was filler material, fan service, and a little too stereotypical harem manga, this one's none of those things. Each episode advances the stalled plot along nicely, and are done well enough you actually are anticipating the next volume's release again. After 4, I wasn't so sure. ;)
I won't spoil it, but let's just say that we FINALLY see Keichi getting a pair in this one, even though he does still act like a nancy around Bell. The writer's must have realized him being that shy and lame with gals was not only hindering the plot but also getting repetitive.
Lotsa fun bits with Urd! I still gotta say I prefer the very first Volume over this one, but this has been the closest one to hold that similar magic and make you feel like the plot's going somewhere interesting. Hope you enjoy it, I did!

Customer Reviews:
Scary Belldandy.......2006-07-23
AMG fans! There is a good news.
Ah My Goddess Season 2 just has started this April in Japan. So far, about 15 episodes were aired (an episode per week). Those new episodes were only broadcasted, but not put into DVD yet (07/2006). We all hope we can watch the new season of Goddess series soon in the U.S. By the way the U.S. version of AMG season 1 ends at volume 6 with 26 episodes.
This volume 4 of AMG season 1 contains four episodes. The first episode introduces an important sidekick of the series, Banpei the robot. The second and third episodes are more interesting, because Belldandy shows her somewhat scary side of personality. The last episode is the big shot of this volume, Belldandy in bathing suit.
The first episode is about Banpei. He is made for protecting Belldandy. From what? And, by whom? The second question is easy to answer. Skuld, who else? But, the answer for the first question is a bit complicated. Skuld intended Banpei to help and protect Belldandy, but for some reason the robot himself changed his own program coding, so that he now protects Belldandy from everybody who approaches to her including keiichi, urd, and even his creator Skuld. Although Skuld did not install any emotional function on the robot, urd concluded that Banpei is in love with Belldandy.
The second episode is funny. After Banpei is guarding and patrolling the temple 24-7, Mara, the demon, has hard time to attack Keiichi and Belldandy. Because Banpei is equipped with anti air-strike missiles, wide range demon detector, and rock music broadcasting function that can make Mara down tens of times a day, she has no chance to even get near to their house. So, Mara changes her target and employs dirtier tactics. She finds megumi, keiichi's sister, and possesses her body to hide from Belldandy's detection. Behind Megumi's body Mara succeeded in approaching to the couple and casts a strong spell to keiichi. The result is that keiichi does some misdeeds to other girls that can potentially disappoint Belldandy. First he jumps to Sayoko on her body, next he grasps Megumi's breast, and finally plunges into lady's dress room where Hasegawa is changing her clothes. The scary but interesting part is the super natural repercussion caused by Belldandy. Each time when she saw the ugly scenes, there are sudden chains of thunders in clear blue sky, pouring rain at a blink, and peaking of gravitation that squashes everything near by. I think, in this manner, keiichi has no chance to even think of cheating Belldandy without considering death.
In third episode, Belldandy is scary in another way. Do you know hasegawa Sora? She is the only female member of the auto club who is always shy and blushing to a plain joke. Although she is a member of auto club, she is a speed-phobic. And, the problem is auto club seniors made entry to a car race by her name without her knowing it. Surely, hasegawa claims tens of times that she just can never do it. So, what can be possible, if the driver simply doesn't want to drive? Here the dreadful characteristic of Belldandy comes to play. I mean positively. Belldandy with smile suggests that she and hasegawa may have a training together at the temple to overcome the speed-phobic. In spite of almost hysteric support of both urd and Skuld, Hasegawa still cannot overcome her fear. People are kind of gave up, except Belldandy. Belldandy again with smile suggested to do it once more. Finally, when the racing day comes, and Hasegawa is so anxious about the race that she pretends to be sick. She cries and almost collapses, but again smiling Belldandy does not give up. The scary part is the way that Belldandy treats people with true and endless goodwill. Whatever it takes, she simply does not stop to see the positive side of things. Isn't it scary that somebody always believes you with full heart without any doubt or tiring?
The last episode, the sweattreat of the volume, is situated in a beach. For gutless keiichi, Megumi prescribed a fail-proof operation that guarantees the advance of Belldandy and keiichi's relationship. Alone together at the beach. Ok, that was the original plan. The problem is, you know, it is impossible to split three goddess musketeers. So, four of them, Keiichi, Belldandy, urd, and Skuld went to the beach. Mood is all set and indeed it's very good though. Belldandy in swimsuit, they are in the same room, and she even ask him to join her in outside bath, which is embarrassingly enough, coed. Plus, according to Urd and her explanation of astronology and horoscope, if he confesses his love tonight at a certain place, those two are bound together forever. I hope that you can remember the episode 2 of volume 1 where Belldandy actually explained certain kinds of things like destiny and heavenly forces that brought her to Keiichi. Anyway, he believes it, and brings Belldandy to that specific place. Of course, Skuld never let Keiichi advance with Belldandy. So, she literally emerges like a rocket canister from the water between Belldandy and Keiichi who is about to confess. The result is, Keiichi accidentally confesses to Skuld, not Belldandy. And, this puts both keiichi and Skuld in panic who believe in Urd's telling of destiny.
I think that this volume enriches and deepens personality of Belldandy very much. During the past episodes, she was naive and innocent but it was not this obvious that she has such a strong gut in some ways. This makes her character to be very unique. It is easy to create a character that is simply naïve, innocent, and kind. But, it is really a something to create a character who are still innocent butt simultaneously insisting and smartly funny.
Finally he says it.......2006-05-23
I have fallen in love with this series since I first saw it, I am almost (actually I am) obbsessed (I just know I spelled that wrong). But I am obbsessed enough to say that it is about time that something big happened again! I mean the 1st big thing was Belldandy showing up, the 2nd was Urd, 3rd (Skuld or Mara, I can't remember which one was before the other) and then this. I mean that it is a build up kind of thing. If you are any fan of the series this is for you, if you are new to the series, this is for you (except that you might want to see the earlier ones before this to get a background idea) and if you have never seen the series before, this will make you a fan in no time. If you are a fan of the Oh, My Goddess, but haven't seen this (or have been let down) this is something to see. So far it is true. I don't suggest renting this however, you need to buy it as soon as you see it. All the old fan's of the series should get the idea of the big thing from the title of this review.
Great Series.......2006-04-12
I have followed this series since the OVA and I really like how the new series expand on the original series and fills in the gaps nicely. There may be a few liberties but it is all worth it. I hope the series goes past the 24 episodes already made. Maybe they will remake the Mini Goddess series as well!!!
About Time!!.......2006-04-02
While the series remain faithful, but not accurate, based on the manga series, AMG finally picks up the pace in which we can finally see what adventures unveil at the Morisato household.
While the story started at a snail's pace it finally fast-forward towards the interesting stuff where Keichi and Bell finally get some time together, but as usual her sisters [...]in to make Keichi more embarrased at the end. However, more interesting events happen in the next volume...oops! I said too much...
But, this is the point in the series where you either love or despise Keichi and his difficulty to 'fess up his feelings towards Belldandy, I mean come on, even the Banpei-kun robot has more chances to get Bell. Time will tell i guess.
The dvd itself has a nice artwork of Keichi and Belldandy getting comfy with him, is that a nice artwork or what?, also you get a textless ending of the series with the song "WING" playing in the background, but it disappoints me to discover that the DVD has only 4 episodes, leaving out Ep 19 (the good one!), with 24 episodes that this series has, I have concluded that 6 episodes will come in the next volume, (not to mention the misterious ep. 12.5)...but then again, I could be wrong. I will cross my fingers and hope for the best. But for fans of this series I highly recommend it, this is a feel-good series that leaves you wanting more and a story that foreshadows its own ending without giving away none of the vital parts that make this series a must-see for everyone (over 13!) pick it off the shelf or order it now and see what you've been missing! Trust me you won't regret it!
Another Gem.......2006-04-02
The challenges for our awkward couple continue as Mara and Megumi have an all too close encounter; one of Skulds inventions ends up being a little too good; and Keeichi gets a golden opportunity, if he can just separate the sisters for an hour. While things continue to progress slowly (understatement), the storys great warmth and good humor more than compensate. It is a pleasure to look in on these lovable characters, even when Keeichi just frustrates the heck out of you.
I have tried out some anime in the past and have been unimpressed, but not with this one. I've got the whole series, and I can't wait for the next installment

Such a fun little movie.......2007-05-15
It's like the chick flick of the anime world... love it!
A great animation movie.......2007-05-07

A Great Show!.......2006-06-23
I love this show. Its sweet, funny, and serious all in one. I recommend this anime to fans looking for a light-hearted show full of comedic situations, zany characters, and sweet romance. I love the collectors box and this series will be a great addition to any collection.

Beautiful Opening Song "Open Your mind".......2006-05-23
I think that other reviewers already covered most of things for this DVD. One thing I want to add is that the opening song is very cool too. The songs of OVA version of "Oh My Goddess" (NOT Ah My Goddess, they are same series but different version) are based mainly on midi music. Those OVA songs are quite popular and also pretty but I was always thinking that they could be better, if the producer invest more for the music. They did that this time! Actually, the movie version of Ah My goddess is the starter where they employed whole scale orchestra rather than simple midi synthesizer. If you watched the parody version of Goddess series "The Adventures of Mini Goddess," you should have noticed the big jump up of the quality of musical background from the OVA version. Ok. Kind of confused of the different versions? The OVA version "Oh My Goddess" is the first series. It consists of two DVDs and the storyline is rather diverging from the original Manga book. But the theme and major tales are quite the same with sweety midi songs. "Adventures of Mini Goddess" series are composed of 4 DVDs and this is a parody of the original series emphasizing corny jokes and hyper cute caricatures of the 3 goddesses. The movie version of "Ah My goddess" is one DVD with a somewhat serious episode and the famous theme song "Wish." And, this TV series "Ah My Goddess" consist so far of 6 DVDs with most orthodox storyline comparing with the original manga books. The opening theme song that I mentioned above is "Open your mind" is really beautiful. This first volume contains 5 episodes. They are mainly setting the ground for all following episodes. One thing I want to mention is that the title "Always & Forever" is the English translated term of the magic words that keichi told to Beldandy, "Jutdo Sobani (literally forever & together)" These two words are the most important words throughout the whole series. Actually, these words are the definition of the relationship of keichi and Beldandy and also for the entire series. Last thing that I want to say is "don't hurry." People want to see urd and Sculd, the two sister goddesses of Beldandy, right away. But urd comes just in second volume and Sculd does not appear until the third volume. Until then, in this first volume, you should fully enjoy the innocent sweetness of Beldandy.
Excellent series...........2006-04-23
Alright, it's cute and it's sappy and it's cheesy, but gosh darn it I can't help but love it. I just love watching Belldandy and Keichi together....
It's heart warming and it leaves me with a great feeling afterwards. I can just watch 'em over and over. A
I read the first few chapters of the manga, and after unexpectedly laughing and enjoying it, I checked out the OAV. This, was very very cheesy, and I quite frankly felt embarrased that I liked it (but I couldn't help it, I tell you, I still liked it....) Then I checked this out, and found to my wondering joy this new version... and fell in love with it. Sure it's cheesy, but it's not as sappy as the OAV. (And it has WAY better music!!!) BTW.. the movie is great too. These really are great stories, and even with the occaisional "????" episode, I love the series, and can't ever wait for the next one to come out so I can buy it as soon as it touches the shelves....
It's a great series, don't miss out!!!
A Wonderful Distraction.......2006-02-19
I won't totally recap the plot, others have done that all ready. I will sum it all up as a nice guy with a loser reputation gets a chance at the ultimate girlfriend. This has the effect of creating one of the most unusual, awkward, and sweetly enchanting couples I've seen in a long time.
The story is sensibly thought out, given the subject, with all the very real complications one might expect. The animation is very sharp, and the voice casting is dead on. The end result is as good an animated show as I've seen in any genre. I recommend this one very highly.
