This film (along with the Cannonball Run movies) pretty much destroyed Burt Reyonlds's career. It's a shame, because anyone who has seen Deliverance knows that Burt Reyonlds can actually act. Instead, he wanted to be a "good ole boy", and he did a plethora of airheaded, terrible films like this. Reportedly, Burt turned down the role of the astronaut in Terms of Endearment for this. Now that's depressing!

Reynolds, Beatty, Anderson, Nabors and
even Bubba Smith are very fine in here.
Funny, short Comedy movie about egoman-
iac NASCAR (BACK WHEN THE SPORT WAS worth
watching!) driver and hillbilly friends
and pit crew who keep running out of spon-
sors. Reynolds signs on with fried chicken
magnate Beatty without reading the fine
print of contract, to his dismay. Lonie
and Burt started a relationship after
meeting on this set! Funny, especially
Jerry Reed's critique at the end in
outtakes! Director Hal Needham's best
effort with Reynolds! I really like it.

It's an oldy but a goody. Looked all over for it for my boyfriend and was so glad I could make his day and find it. He can sit there and watch it over and over. Really good movie.

this movie more than any other helped kill what was left of burt reynolds acting rloes for the rest of the 80's and keeped him on t.v. till "boggie nights". not one laugh or even a good chuckle to be had in this mess that was realesased very quickly and went under the waves even faster than "heat" did. man what a waste of time and money. no stars but they make you give it one.

If your a hard core NASCAR lover I would recomend this movie, youll see a bunch of legendary drivers doing camios. Too include the very best Dale Earnheart!!! And there all back when they were just coming into the sport its a blast seeing them all so young!!!
The Chemistry between Burt and wife Loni is great to bad they wound up divorcing!! Youd never guess by this film!
Jim Neibors away from his normal " Gomer Pyle" is great.
I would also recomend if you like Burt and Jim in this that you see them in "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas", also with Dolly Parton doing her famouse song,that Whitney Huston stole and ruined, "I will always love you".

I had this movie in my collection for the past 6 months, and must have watched it 10 times,,,however, not doing a review on it was just a gross oversight on my part. I do agree with that "morgoth Dude",,infact I must have purchased 6 movies based on his reviews,,and he usually knows his stuff,,,whom ever you are man, lot's of respect to you bro!!!.

This flick was amazing from the get-go. It was nothing less than magic to see both John Liu and Kwan Young Moon go at it (training), that in itself was worth the entire movie purchased. This flick has no boaring parts,,it's exciting from start to finish,,to see two of the top foot kung fu guys go at it, was just absolutely electric, and I'm not just saying that cuz am a Kwan Young Moon and John Liu fan. This is a must have,,,,FOR REAL!!!!!!

I just watched this last night and was AMAZED. This movie would have sucked if it only had John Liu in like 3 fights, but every fight revolves around him, and seriously kicks ass. Watch this move that he does at the end -it's hard to explain but the guy like tries to puch him and john liu does a jump kick and that wraps his arm under lius leg, horrible job of explaining it, but one of the coolest things that I have ever seen.

should have been a 3/5, but the fact that john liu uses BOTH legs in this one, i almost gave this a 5.

        Fighting ace------I was not expecting much after just watching instant kung fu man, but the action revolves completely around John Liu in this one, so watch out. JOHN LIU ACTUALLY USES BOTH LEGS IN THIS ONE. HE CAN'T WHIP EM BACK AND FORTH LIKE THE GREAT SILVER FOX DOES, BUT IT REALLY COOL TO ACTUALLY SEE HIM USE BOTH OF THEM.

        36 crazy stupid fists-JACKIE CHAN MAKES NO APPEARENCE IN THIS. This movie is obviously one of jackies first efforts as the "matrial arts director"(if he even was). The action REALLY sucks, so the only reason I would tell you to watch this movie is for that girl who was tiger's(wei pei) hooker in young master, she has a revealing scene, AND MAN SHE HAS SOMETHING NICE TO SHOW. So if both of these movies really are on this double pack then freaking buy it!!!!!

        Overall a 4/5 for fighting ace and a 2/5 for the non jackie movie. Oh yeah, the music from secret rivals blasts away in fighting ace too, sweet.
