Completes the now holy trinity of hiphop documentaries (the first 2 being the show, and rhyme and reason). I like how everything is broken down for the viewer, a lot to learn here, for those who aren't aware of the business side of hip-hop, among other things. Since I got it, I've watched three times in 2 days!! Great work bonz malone!

This saga picks up with Goku fighting the Ginyu Force after they damn near beat Gohan to death. After easily dispatching them the survivor retreats for his leader Captain Ginyu. This saga is very short. 2 DVD's with 7 episodes. It adds alot to the story and sets the stage for the coming battle with Frieza. The fights could have been better. Still I recommend this volume to complete your collection. Its 3 action packed episodes.

Ahhhhhhh! (yell of a DBZ fighter powering up) another Fight Begins?
But how much of a fight can it really be when one side is winning without even trying. 2 on 1 & that's right Goku's so fast they can't see him move let alone touch him, with great surprise to Burter & Jeice and even the rest of the Z Fighters (Vegeta, Krillin & Gohan). Though they give it there all purple spiral attacks, fire crusher balls & all. It's all useless. One kick and an elbow puts Burter down for the count & Jeice high tails it back to Captain Ginyu. While Vegeta the merciless kills recoome, Burter & Guldo while there defenseless. Meanwhile Captain Ginyu has gathered all the dragon balls and Frieza is still heading over to Guru's to get the password to use them & Bulma has her own tribulations on Planet Namek. Captain Ginyu after learning from Jeice about this saiyan, decides to confront him his self. They then learn Goku is hiding his Power Level (PL) & estimates his PL to max at 60,000. While Ginyu's distracted Krillin & Gohan search for the dragon balls Ginyu has. Goku & Vegeta team up to take on Jeice & Ginyu but Vegeta takes off & leaves Kakarot(Goku) to face them on his own. Ginyu attacks & the 2 elite fighters really go at it. Ginyu has Goku in a headlock, but what's this he let's him go cause Jeice's offered help warps his ego into overdrive. But enough wasting time let's fight for real. 90, 100, 110, 117, 140, 150, 180,000!!!
Is Goku a Super Saiyan?
Ginyu freaks out knowing his max PL is only 120,000. He can't believe what he's seeing. But Ginyu's confidence is restored when he takes this rare Good natured saiyan(Goku) for being weak. Meanwhile Bulma takes off on her hover cycle & stumbles upon a mass of murdered Nameks. While Nail returns & Guru adorns Dende with healing powers & sends him to help the Z fighters with the dragon balls. Frieza arrives at Guru's & Nail & 3 other surviving Nameks put up a courageous but futile defense.

This is an overall good dvd. My very first dragon ball Z dvd to be exact. I Definetly recommend. Though the DBZ dvd's are overpriced & they should contain 8 episodes not 3. I suggest you take your time collecting them & buy 1-2 disc a month.

beggining of the third saga.......2004-03-08

this dvd marks th fight of ginyu and goku, wich gets more interesting for me since it was the first time i saw it.the only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to, bad menu and it doesn't say what happens on the next dvd. Other than that, a must see, must get dvd for a great collector.

The Eight Immortals brought to life on screen!.......2007-04-26

I can't really think of anything to compare this to, but the closest may be Greek mythology books where the gods would partake in real world events if they felt the need. I know next to nothing about Chinese mythology, but from what I have seen, most of it looks very interesting. Some people might be put off by all of the singing in this, but it is my favorite thing about the movie.

After introducing seven of the eight Immortals , the actual story starts while introducing the eighth. When a bloodsucking demon captures a girl that one of the gods favors, the Eight Immortals intervene. The story slows down after introducing the Immortals, but picks back up by the end.

There is not much action, but that didn't bother me. This isn't a kung fu movie, it is just a magical experience. After no fighting the entire movie, there is a huge throwdown at the end which is nicely filmed and has good choreography. The rest is magic type action, but all of it is fun to watch.

The film print is far from being in perfect condition, but the picture and sound quality is very good.

Ten years ago when it first came out, I saw this film and loved it! Then I forgot the name of the film and no one that I ever asked knew what the heck movie I was talking about. But it always stood out in the forefront of my memory as being a great film. I had forgotten the name of the movie for TEN YEARS and have actually researched for the past few weeks until I re-discovered it, if that tells you anything about how well I liked it. I only gave it four stars because I have not yet viewed it, again. Kieran Mulroney gives a very moving and convincing performance as someone who wavers between being resolute and questioning his own faith. Chris Rock, well he rocks! It's got action, emotional drama, comedic relief, it's a concrete blonde!

An Excellent Action/Thriller With A Stellar Cast!!!.......2005-08-07

I usually don't have time for Action/Thriller movies about robberies but this is the exception to the rule and it would have to be on my list of My Favourite Top Ten Movies. I can't speak highly enough of this film. Nightclub owner Jack, played by Eric Roberts organizes a group of 8 people to steal some large amounts of cash. This movie has Drama, Comedy and Sympathy for the characters from the viewer which is rare for most action movies these days. The guys and the woman who stole the cash all have a secret and as the body count rises their secrets are slowly revealed. Tia Carrere is beautiful as always and produced this movie which shows she is a lady of not only beauty but good taste in scripts.Clarence Williams III gives a great performance and it is a real shame that we do not see him in more movies these days.Chris Rock is also very funny as the guy who is the partner of Ms. Carrere.I liked this movie so much that I bought a copy from the Video Store which is a pretty rare thing for me to do. This movie was made in 1995 and it has hardly dated. Bravo to the cast, crew, director and producers of this fine piece of Hollywood magic.They don't come much better than this!!!

Not bad!.......2002-06-12

Eight misfit criminals unite to simultaneous steal from various targets in the city. Of course it all goes bad, predictable but still fun and entertaining. There's a lot of gunfire, explosions, tough-guys and a gal, and some humor thrown in. It translates to a very good action-thriller. Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts, is as good as he was in Runway Train (he was nominated for an Academy Award for in 1985). At the end of this film you might be surprise who the real target is! It's worth your time, however it is only available in limited quantities, you'll have to order it and wait. But it's worth it. By the way, Chris Rock is true to form and he'll make you laugh! Rate R for strong language and violence.

A action movie with a twist.......2000-07-13

A crafty nightclub owner (Jack) brings together a group of small time hoods and teams them up in unusual pairs (black man and white racist, Ivy Leaguer and simpleton) for a set of multiple heists which turn out to be an elaborate double cross against a notorious gangster (Domenic). The second half of the film is an extended standoff in the nightclub between Jack and his band of thieves and Domenic's henchman, during which the thieves discover why Jack brought them all together for what amounts to a suicidal mission.

I hate to give more than general info as I do not like to ruin the surprises for others. What I will tell you is that I found this film very interesting and liked the pairing of the two worst to work together and why. I also liked the reasons that the people were brought in on the deal. Over all this movie had some very well written twists and turns that make this movie more than just a B-movie.

The cast was also well put together, including, Eric Roberts, Tia Carrere, and Chris Rock.

A must see.......1999-06-19

Great story, great plot, and good comedy. The Immortals is one of those movies that you will never see an equal to.

A cartoon version of the rock band Kiss appears in this "multipath" film that begins when the rockers are wrapping up a show in Pittsburgh and are suddenly yanked off the stage by a mysterious cosmic force that transports them to an alien landscape. Before long the musicians are meeting up with alien cops, who announce that musical instruments are banned in this strange world. Bummer, dude! All the rockers want to do is get back to Pittsburgh to perform their encore, but of course they have to first endure a series of challenges. By using the remote control of the DVD player (or the keyboard of a computer), the viewer can rather randomly click buttons that determine which scene will come up next, so the story changes depending on which choices the viewer makes. That sounds like a nifty idea, but the trials faced by the cartoon Kiss characters just aren't very interesting. A cartoon redhead in a skimpy outfit shoots deadly light beams at them, and a confused alien worships them as demigods. And when some instruments turn up, naturally the band rocks out. Perhaps devoted fans of Kiss may get a kick out of seeing their heroes in cartoon form (if that's not a redundancy), but anyone expecting a spectacular show may well be disappointed, despite the "multipath" gimmick of the DVD. --Robert J. When I heard the concept behind this DVD I thought COOL!!!! So I bought it and threw it straight into the DVD player, but I think I might have thrown the ending out of the DVD player!!!! How can you make a DVD with a cheesy but addictive storyline, and end it so quickly????? I just don't get it???? If this DVD was complete I would say this is the coolest DVD I have ever bought!!! I just hope more people make DVD's like this!!!!!

this dvd should be excellent but it just ends in the middle of the action, it not the full story you can get off the net as i thought it would be and as there are no more dvds in the series to buy at this time you can KISS the end goodbye!. please note if this kiss dvd had been the full story it would had rated 5 stars

Kiss Immortals: Lots of Fun,but..........2002-03-05

This release took me by surprise. So I bought it and really enjoyed it. But, two things left me dissapointed.
One, the DVD ends on a cliff hanger without any sign of resolution. Two, the DVD shuts down, stops in mid-play, for no apparent reason. I contacted the company that released it and they never got back to me. Who knows it may be my DVD player?

I wish I'd read the reviews before ordering this DVD from another source. Like everyone else I was really disappointed that the story stopped before it had hardly started. I would imagine this would be due to other people doing the voices rather than Paul/Gene/Ace/Peter at this point in the webisodes. What you get is good, but taking into account the cost with NZ's lousy exchange rate, if I'd known the you only get part of the story I wouldn't have bought it.
