Description

1) Shoalin Drunken Monk: This film contains a very good audio commentary by Ric Meyers, which i found informative and entertaining... i wish more of these kung fu movies had commertary by film makers and experts. Sadly this DVD was not in widescreen so you dont really get the whole movie
2) He Has Nothing But Kung Fu: I felt that this was the better of the two...........So much Kung Fu..........Fighting for no absolute reason. but again not in widescreen. However bye its cheap. good to have for your collection

Which Master Killer movies are included in this 2 disc set?
It's like selling a 2 disc Star Trek set and not listing which movies are being sold.
I know their are at LEAST two Master Killer collection packages.
The classic responce is:
"You can return it, if it is not what you want."
I shouldn't have to do that.
Does anyone have any info on this?

OK, well those were 2 of the worst movies I have seen in a while.......2006-09-13

DRUNKEN MASTER KILLER(aka DRUNKEN MASTER 3-this is the film that Master Lau Kar Leung went to make after leaving the set of drunken master 2(with Jackie Chan). I think he was fired but doubt he would ever admit it and no way in hell I would question him. This movie here has to be one of the top 3 or 4 worst movies Lau has ever directed. There is no drunken style in this movie except a couple of mentions of it, seriously. There was one scene where I cracked a smile but that was all the enjoyment I got out of this movie. So we have Gordon Liu in this, along with superstars Andy Lau, Lau Kar Leung, Michelle Reis, Simon Yam , and Adam Cheng. Then we have some white guy who is supposed to be the main bad guy and he is like 5 foot 5 inches weighing in at maybe 140 pounds. Too many problems to go over with by I will sum it up by saying that Andy Lau was the ONLY character that I enjoyed. When Andy Lau is the only good thing in a Lau Kar Leung film, we have serious problems.

BREAKOUT OF OPRESSION-I may have actually liked this more than Drunken Master 3 but it is still a horrible movie. One thing to look out for is Dean Shek in a non comedic role. He is like the person we feel sorry for in this. The one thing to watch this movie for is Gordon Liu. This may actually be his first movie. I am not going to go over the story becasue their really was none. I will tell you that I saw the Lau brohter's credited for the action direction and the action is very well choreographed. Nice hand movements but that was literally the only good thing about this movie. Hey, at least I liked about 5 minutes of this movie.

I was stuck between a 1 and a 2 but I just can't allow myself to give Master lau the lowest rating possible(but he deserves it).

Under-rated kung fu classic.......2002-05-30

I wanted to write this review to defend this under-rated kung fu classic. This film was directed by Liu Chia-Liang, the absolute finest martial arts director ever. While this film is very different than the other in the "Drunken Master" series, it is still excellent. While the other films contained a lot of stupid comedy and excellent old-school kung fu, this film is more serious and realistic. The fight scenes contain the same outstanding creativity as does all of Liu Chia-Liang's work, but with this film the fights do not contain the same attack-pause-attack-pause, pre-scripted feel. The fights are fast and frantic. The one bad thing about the film is that there are a relatively small amount of fights. However, if you are a fan of true kung fu, and not the wire-work suggested by the other reviewer, this would be a great film to check out.

2 1/2 stars - This film does not have Jet Li in it!.......2001-06-11

This film does NOT have Jet Li in it. It also doesn't have Jackie Chan in it either. It DOES have some decent humor and a few decent kung-fu fights, but mostly is pretty weak. Andy Lau is in this one and is also under-used. If you liked Legend of Drunken Master and seek more like it - then look for Iron Monkey, Last Hero in China, Swordsman 2, Fong Sai Yuk 1 & 2, and if you want good Jackie Chan - look for Supercop, Who Am I?, and Operation Condor. This film isn't horrible, but you should probably pass on it anyway.
