Description

Merle Hammond, (Michael McKean) a sleazy attorney uses corrupt tactics and convinces a jury to acquit his client who is a killer. Gwen, the murdered victim's sister, (Annette O' Toole) knows the real truth and plots revenge against the attorney. Out of desperation, she kidnaps the attorney in an attempt to make him confess to his unscrupulous him confess to his unscrupulous tactics. One of the Best TV Movies i've seen.......2007-02-23

Everything about this movie was very well done and the acting was amazing. Annette O'Toole did such a good job in this movie i can not even put it into words. Michael McKean did great as well, and seeing him do a serious role other then his usual comedy was great to see. Over all, this is a very good movie and i think everything who see's it will not be disappointed.

If you love Annette, you'll love this movie. She is awesome in it. If you don't love her, it is still a great movie. If you've ever secretely dreamed of getting revenge, then dream on. I love it when she makes him.... ah "wet himself". I laughed till I cried. Oh by the way, she later married the creep in real life.
This is one of Annette's better movies.

FANTASTIC Courtroom Drama.......2002-05-01

This was the film that real life husband & wife Annette O'Toole (Smallville) & Michael McKean (Laverne & Shirley) met on! This movie is about a school teacher who finds out that her gay brother was murdered, and then the killer is wrongfully set free...b/c one of the best lawyers in the country (played by McKean) shows that his client is innocent. Annette O'Toole is so furious, that she decides to make the lawyer (McKean) suffer..by kidnapping him..taking him up to a secluded cabin...and torturing him!!! Is this final justice? NO! More happens! I'm not going to ruin the movie, but I wish I could! This is a movie with lots of twists and turns, and is truly enjoyable.

This DVD is the conclusion of "Book and Sword," a complicated story of an attempt to convince a Chinese emperor that he is not who he thinks he is. This plot is set against a background love story of two members of the "Red Flower Society" and the emperor's obsession with the female member of the pair. Taken from the long and complicated first novel of Louis Cha, it does a good job of teasing out some of the main themes and stringing them into a (semi)coherent narrative.

This was one of my favaoite movies and they just cut it up in a way that doesn't make sense to me I do not understand why they put this out on DVD if they were going to cheat the viewers.

Don't Buy This DVD!!!!.......2006-06-23

I stupidly bought this DVD without looking at the running time. This was originally broadcast as a mini-series over 2 nights. If I recall correctly, the first part was 3 hours and the conclusion was 2 hours. This DVD is 105 minutes, which means counting the removal of commercials, the DVD should have been at least 3 1/2 hours, not just over an hour and a half!! They chopped up the movie so bad that the sequences don't always make sense- What a waste!!!

I also was very disappointed in this DVD. This is one of my favorite movies and I also couldn't believe how much was cut out of the movie! I happen to know it is almost a 3 hour movie and here, it is not even 2 hours long!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! I love this movie and can't tell you how excited I was to see they finally released it to DVD. I bought it and then anxiously waited for it to arrive. The DVD arrived and I quickly opened it and sat down to watch. Boy was I disappointed! I still can't believe they have cut so much from the movie. For those of you that have not seen this movie in its entirety I am sorry for you. For those of you, like me, that have it will be a great disappointment to you. Scenes that play a very big part in telling the story are obviously missing. If they cut this much from the movie to create room on the DVD for bonus material again you're going to be very disappointed. There is very little there to even call bonus material. Trivia: Martin Sheen tried out for Michael Corleone in the Godfather. Was born Ramon Estevez. Father to Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez. Cast Info: Consists of a few paragraphs for Patty Duke and Martin Sheen. Still Gallery: 15 total. All clips from the movie. How can this be called bonus material at all? Since the only channel that I have seen this movie on is Lifetime or LMN with commercials I'm estimating that a good hour is missing once all the cutting is done. If they did this so they can include the bonus material I wish they had just left the movie alone. Over all I am very disappointed with this particular DVD. I can only hope now they will release this in its entirety at a later date. I wish someone had posted a review of this DVD. It's a total waste of money. I hope this review will help someone else.

Man, oh man, where to start....Like most of the reviewers, I first saw this movie on Mystery Science Theater, the season SciFi made them switch to all SciFi movies. Did this movie cause them to be cancelled? Who knows. I DO know that this is an amazing movie: Car chases! Boat chases! Church chases! Float chases!

Before I get into who is who, it needs to be stated at the outset that the real star of this movie is the gorgeous island of Malta. And, the movie does everything in its power to show off the island: Ancient churches, harbors, forts and of course the blue waters of the Mediterranean all are on display at various points. You know, if I could get a certified letter from the Maltese government promising that Joe Don would not be on the island, I might actually go.

The plot sort of focuses on a flatulent, murder-obsessed Texas deputy played by Joe Don Baker and his oh-so hot side-kick: a black-eyed, raven haired Maltese beauty whose name escapes me (Helena Abella?). HOT, I SAY! Anyway, they are in Malta tracking a bad, bad Italian that killed Joe-Don's partner, and in return Joe-Don killed the Italian's brother and then the Italian's flunkies arranged for the plane he and Joe-Don were on to land in Malta and that's the back-story. The dvd is great, because all the dancers that you see on stage on MST3K are here and they are all NAKED! Yes! But, Joe-Don's partner is not naked. NO! Well, it's true and this thing was made in 1980-something, so it's too late now. Anyway, if you want ACTION, if you want ADVENTURE, if you want THRILLS, CHILLS and lots of high-fat sauce SPILLS...you just "go ahead on" and buy FINAL JUSTICE!!!!!!

By the way, if you are interested in Malta, see my review of another Maltese-filmed epic, "BLACK EAGLE" which actually features some of the actors that were in this movie!

This is one great action movie!!! The great quirky casting of Joe Don Baker(Walking Tall,Goldeneye,Joysticks,Cool Hand Luke,In The Heat Of The Night TV Series),Bill McKinney(Deliverance,Lots of Eastwood films!),Rossano Brazzi(The Christmas That Amost Was'nt)and director of the film Greydon Clark appears as a sheriff makes this one cool movie,despite not having much of a plot!!! Critics didn't like this film but I did!!! And the DVD version from Digital Versatile Disc Ltd. looks so much better than those old VHS tapes out there!!! Sure it's a bit grainy, but thats the way it was shot!!! A great drive-in movie finally getting reissued on DVD!!!

I loved this MST3K episode. It's great fun, poking fun of a great B-actor, Joe Don Baker. As Tom Servo puts it, "Awww, can't I have just one more justice?"
