He is befriended by old monk and a local Irish beauty played by Nicole O'Sullivan. His search takes him to the prestigious bealtaine Martial Arts Tournament.

Together with his past the good guy is drawn into conflict with the local drug baron and his son.

The conflict makes the young man face his fathers death in an unusual way he had never imagined.

The action is explosive, the fight scenes are dynamic and the story is wonderful. One of the great things about the film is that one of the car rollovers which happens in the film was not suppose to happen at all but the stunt team got carried away and you will see a real wreck that nearly killed some of the actors.

too call this film an oscar winning performance is an understatement. bennett has the qualities of a master. from moon kicks to standing on logs he can do it all. from a young age he was trained in one of the finest schools in europe, the school of bennett. his first and only film "fatal deviation" reached box office success with packed out shows in his home town of trim. hes his own stunt man and cos of his recklessness his friends dubbed him "johnny square ass" i have to stop typing here as im off to watch it again for the umpteen time.
(p.s: the priest can still be seen roaming the church grounds but only "after training")

To say that this masterpiece is the greatest film ever made on Irish shores does it an injustice, that would be the understatement of the century.
In Bennett they have really unearthed a gem of an actor who oozes charisma not to unlike some early work done by DeNiro and Pacino. His Bruce Lee like style makes him in my mind a natural to replace the Kung Fu legend and take the crown as the new king of the martial arts genre.
Fatal Deviation brings a warm glow into my heart everytime I see it and between me and my friends we must have seen it over 50 times, we didn't even look at The Matrix that much, that's the quality of this show!
Do yourself a favour and pick up a copy now, you will get to see the town of Trim in all it's glory and the scene in Kiely's pub is out of this world.

I really liked James Bennnett's martial arts skills and think he has a very bright future in action movies.
