5 out of 5 stars If you love Foreign movies then check it out!.......2007-04-10

I am a huge fan of foreign movies and as of late been renting several Asian movies. The Infernal Affairs Trilogy is my favorite! Way before the hoopla of "The Departed", this movie has stood out amongst alot of Asian viewers as a 5 star! Andy Lau, star, director and writer leads a team of undercover and dirty cop characters twisting and turning in the police force. Who is good and who is bad, that's what keeps you hanging in your seat till the very end.

Anyone who likes cop thrillers, and a cast of characters that keep you guessing should pick up this trilogy. Highly entertaining!

5 out of 5 stars Best Chinese movies.......2007-04-05

Although Infernal Affairs 3 is so boring, getting all is the best choice.

5 out of 5 stars Great Movie....Great Service.......2007-04-02

"The Infernal Affairs" is a very interesting movie. I like it better than "The Departed." Got the whole set within 2 days after purchase. Thanks Amazon for the great service!!

4 out of 5 stars Infernal Affairs Trilogy.......2007-03-28

I received the item in fairly good condition. The inside of 2 of the cases were damaged and have not yet watched all to see if the DVD's are ok.

4 out of 5 stars One of Hong Kong's best.......2007-03-20

Part 1 is a winner! Martin Scorsese released the American version and won an Academy award. What higher acclaim is there for this Hong Kong original movie? The scipt takes the "corrupt cop" story to a whole other
level. Anthony Wong, Tony Leung and Andy Lau once again give outstanding performaces with a dramtic unexpected ending as only Hong Kong directors
seems to employ.
Part 2 is an interesting prequel. 2 young actors take the roles created by Andy Lau and Tony Leung and the movie weaves an interesting background
story. Part 3 is sluggish, filmed simplty to establish a trilogy.

4 out of 5 stars Good Enough.......2007-04-03

This set is good enough. I mean, how can an old production be made to today's standards without altering the original content. Come on. This and Enter the Dragon is all I need to start with for my collection. Bruce is a legend, and to have a set like this is good enough in my opinion.

3 out of 5 stars Good collection, but average........2007-03-27

Right off the bat, this collection loses a star for it's inclusion of Game of Death and Game of Death II. Both are insulting to the Bruce Lee legacy. While Game of Death II is just a REALLY BAD movie, the first Game of Death would have actually been a decent film had they not tried to capitalize on Bruce Lee. Instead, we see a bunch of cheap Bruce Lee acting imitations and some bad special effects. It's just insulting.

The other three movies, worthy of being part of this collection are: The Big Boss (AKA Fists of Fury), Fist of Fury (AKA Chinese Connection), and The Way of the Dragon (AKA Return of the Dragon). I've never seen them done so well. I've seen previous DVDs of the first two movies, but these remasters look marvelous. Most of it is clean. Up close, you might be able to see some small pixelization artifacts though. It seems like they took a high resolution image from the original tapes and then squeezed the picture down to standard definition. Looking a few feet away though, you may not notice the artifacts; and the improvement in picture quality is worth it.

The sound quality is also decent. I'm not a big sound buff, but the sound sounds alright to me. Ah, but wait. The Chinese soundtracks sound good, but the English ones are a different story. Another star was lost here because the English soundtracks on all but the Game of Death movies are junk. The voices are low and the sound effects sound super low quality and way over done. It's not even worth watching the movie in English. Therefore I suggest that to get the most out of this collection, watch it with Audio Track 3: Chinese. This is the original recording in Cantonese. Then select English Subtitles. While this is a bit of a pain, it's better than watching the movie with the English audio.

This is the first time I've seen The Way of the Dragon. I must say I was disappointed. I can see that Bruce tried to get his instructional points in and his humor. But the story seemed second rate and the fight scenes needed more work. Most of them had no punch to them; they looked fake. Although, an OK movie, this is his worst. The other two and the Warner Bros. release, Enter the Dragon, are the best, especially the latter.

1 out of 5 stars What a ripoff.......2007-03-03

I do not know who wrote these reviews but after viewing this collection I was compelled to write this review. I am a fan of Bruce lee and his movies and to have someone come out with this low quality imitation of remastered videos is a disgrace to his legacy. The sounds were almost comical. The real insult is to put special features on each video and to see that there are none. I clicked on the special features on every video and there were no specials. I wish I could not give it one star but I have to in order to write this. Be very careful if you get this collection and know you get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 stars The best Collection of Bruce Lee.......2007-02-15

I have truly enjoyed the copy of this collection.

4 out of 5 stars I don't buy imports - this is the next best thing!.......2007-01-03

What can I say. I bought imports before and got burnt.

Suffice it to say, this is possibly the next best thing to own. Here, you get to actually watch the movies in the original languages, with the exception of Game of Death and Game of Death II, but they were always done in English and is not a big loss.

Having the original Chinese language is great on many fronts. First off, the dubbing that was done before in English was horrendous as it always has been. Plus, some things are changed from the story line when they translate it as they try to match the lip movements to the English words.

Also, because of the translation, this sometimes causes other scenes to be thrown out. Case in point is in Way of the Dragon/Return of the Dragon. When Bruce's character is standing outside the restaurant with his stomach growling, a man comes out and tells him to go on inside. In the American version, we see Bruce go in and then come out again, apparently after having eaten. Well, an entire scene was missed in where he goes into the restaurant to order food and can't speak a word of English, but that's what the waitress speaks in and what the menu is in. The entire exchange is hilarious. It also drives home the point that Bruce's character is out of place in Rome which makes more sense with many of the scenes in the movie which seemed strange when spoken in the English language.

Now, it would have been nice to have more "extras" other than the filler stuff they have here, which is basically slide shows, trailers and interviews with people. I understand the import versions have much more, but for me, this coupled with the 2-disc Enter the Dragon DVD makes my Bruce Lee collection complete.

With the Ultimate Collection, you get a new 5.1 English soundtrack but at times, it sounds funny during the fight scenes. Specifically, it sounds like the fight is taking place in a tunnel with the reverberation turned on a little too much I guess. It can be kind of distracting and disorienting with the way it sounds, but it's not a total loss. Still, the Chinese soundtrack is better. Different music and it just flows better.

The Chinese soundtracks are fine and make the movies much more enjoyable for me because you get to hear the true emotions of the actors. Some have complained about the subtitles being within the movie rather than in the black bars below. This is because these movies are in anamorphic wide screen, so on a HDTV, you'd have no black bars. To me, it's not that bad. That's how it would have been in the theaters to begin with anyways.

The picture for each of the movies are great, with the exception of Way of the Dragon. Early on, parts of it are fuzzy and out of focus. Now, this could be due to the camera shot itself because it's not the entire shot that's out of focus, but it's not enough to be completely horrible or unwatchable. But, after you get past that point in Way of the Dragon, the picture is great just like in all the other movies.

The only unwatchable things are the Game of Death (minus the final fights with the REAL Bruce of course) and Game of Death II and we all know why that is. If you really want to see how the Game of Death fights were, get the 2-disc Enter the Dragon DVD which contains at least 30 minutes of the fights in the order they would have happened, including his side kicks that were supposed to come along with him but were left out of the GOD movie for obvious reasons. It's a very interesting introspective on what Bruce was trying to envision with Game of Death and it's a shame it was never completed the way he wanted it. Plus, all the interviews up to that point are great, with Chuck Norris, Kareem Abdul Jabar and so many other former students and martial artists that knew and worked with Bruce Lee.

To me, this set is worth 4 stars. It could have gotten 5 stars with some extra content and the strange 5.1 sounds hurt that as well, but overall, this is worth having. Couple this with the 2-disc DVD of Enter the Dragon and it's completely worth 5 stars.

There is no better bargain in the states than this.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Workout EVER!!!!.......2007-06-23

I do not care what anyone else says, this is the best taebo exercise dvds ever! I saw more changes to my body in a month than with the Bootcamp Series and even the new Get Amped and Elite series. I always go back to the Get Ripped series because it gives me quicker results. My body tones and I lose the excess weight rapidly. I feel more energised after doing this dvd. I'm not saying that his other dvds are no good but this one is the best out of all of them. Its just good old fashioned taebo without the resistance bands and the amplifier that at times restricts movement and can add injury if not used properly. These tapes are definitely not for beginners, you need to be at intermediate advanced level to tackle this baby. If you have just started Taebo-welcome! But I recommend that you watch the instruction tape and then do the basic level first. Have fun!

i bought the bootcamp elite first and got hooked with billy blanks and so i searched for his other top rating work-out.
by the time i had acquired this, it is somewhat outdated because i like the more advanced work out in the bootcamp. i do understand the rave reviews when this was the only thing out in the market.

Bootcamp basic series has floor abs work
bootcamp advanced series just more intense but no abs work

5 out of 5 stars Damn This Is Hard But Excellent!!!!.......2007-05-25

I have several of Billy's dvds and this is the most advanced one! Boot Camp and Cardo Blast do not come close to the intensisty of this workout! Billy takes you thru all the moves working all areas of the body: legs, abs, hips, and arms. The workouts are close to 1 hour long and very intense. Even Billy's studio people are stopping for water during the course of the dvd. That being said, these are some great workouts. For example: I can do both of boot camps workouts back to back without stopping. The first time I did this workout, I only made it thru 40 minutes. It took me several tried before I could complete the entire workout without stopping. If you are looking for a killer dvd workout then look no farther. You will burn some major calories while enjoying the different taebo moves!

5 out of 5 stars What a work out!.......2007-03-10

I had the first taebo tape since 1998 and used it intermittently since that time. I recently purchased the second series and it is even better then the first one. A few times a week is an added bonus to my other exercise regimen. Toning, strength, power and inspiration gets your target heart rate up and fat burning. As one reviewer pointed out, the counting is a little annoying but excellent workout. Buy it!

5 out of 5 stars Best Tae Bo DVD Out There!.......2007-02-19

The 2 Advanced workouts on this DVD set are the toughest Tae Bo workouts out there. You will feel great after completing one of these workouts. These workouts have given me the body I have always wanted, slim, toned, and healthy. I do one of these workouts every morning because completing these workouts gives you a high all day that creates a stress free day for yourself. When you do tae bo, You feel confident and free, and you know you can handle anything.

Many of the films are not viewable. But if you want to be transported back to the 1970's it's a quick trip. Now, with the power of the DVD remote you can turn it off when the bad dubbing gets bad and the sudden nudity pops up right after a fight scene.

Some of the titles in MARTIAL ARTS 50 MOVIE PACK are so obscure, very little information could be gotten about them. A couple of selections here are from a long-forgotten American TV series. There's even a few spaghetti-karate films thrown into the mix. The majority however originate in the Far East: Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines.

Lots of choreography went into the making of these movies; undoubtedly, there were a few unintentional injuries along the way, too. The action and pratfalls are non-stop and the plots mere window dressing for the foot-to-head combat scenes. For all martial arts fans these cinematic slugfests are sure-to-please.

Overall rating was achieved by averaging out viewer polling on 42 of these titles. Based on a film resource website's 1 to 10 scoring system, the current rating for MARTIAL ARTS is: 4.8.

The following alphabetized program list includes individual poll scores, original theatrical names (where indicated), country of origin, years of release and primary performers.

    5 out of 5 stars Craptacular!.......2007-02-17

This collection is well worth every penny you'll spend on it, as long you enjoy this film genre. Personally, these movies evoke more laughter for me than most of the comedies being currently released. Some of the movies don't really qualify as martial arts movies - in particular, I'm referring to Black Cobra 1, 2, and 3 - three of the worst movies ever made. These movies, starring former NFL player Fred "The Hammer" Williamson would more appropriately be categorized as action movies, although there isn't a Hell of a lot of action in them. I digress. The point is that there are maybe 3 punches thrown in the entire first movie. It's definitely not a martial arts movie. Most of the movies in this collection, however, are exactly what you would expect. In particular, there are three movies, Ninja Death 1, 2, and 3 that are so awful that they border on greatness. I'm not a film student, so I couldn't tell you what the filming technique is called wherein the "actors" fight in slow-motion, and then the film is sped up to make the fights look like they are taking place at a normal speed. The director of these Ninja Death movies sped the fights up too much, and the result is that every battle looks like an episode of the Benny Hill show. I put these kind of crappy movies on at night to fall asleep to (spaghetti westerns and cheesy horror flicks work well also), but Ninja Death kept me awake and laughing. None of the movies in this collection are big budget - they are all old, and the sound and picture quality is poor, but that adds, not detracts, to the experience of watching them. If you "get" these kinds of films, you absolutely can't go wrong spending the money on this collection.

4 out of 5 stars A collection of really great "bad kung-fu" movies.......2007-01-26

I was ecstatic when i heard about this collection from a friend and snatched it up right away [great price!!]. This set includes some of the worst movies I have ever seen, but I am one of the rare people who actually gets a kick out of watching these types of movies, especially bad kung-fu. My only real gripe is there wasn't enough of the "Shaolin" style films...oh well.

Now not to say that ALL are bad, as there are actually a few really good ones too. So If you are looking for a quick way to build up your kung-fu collection and love "B" movies...this is the one for you!! All I have to say is "The Impossible Kid" was the best of the worst...classic!!!

    3 out of 5 stars Think twice!.......2007-06-09

I love all genre of martial arts, after seeing Tony in the Protector 1 and 2, saw this, but it is a remake of way earlier career. Thought it was slow, and not up to todays remake standards.

3 out of 5 stars Tony Jaa has a cameo appearance, still not a bad movie.......2007-05-10

Actually Tony Jaa is in this movie... But he is not one of the main actors. He has a cameo appearance. He appears with a group of ppl who are looking for a villiage relic. He has on a black jump suit with zebra like designs in the shoulder area of his jacket. His fight scenes with his mentor are pretty solid. A lot of viewers see this movie as a disaster, but I have decided to give 3 stars for the effort since they did not use any cheesy wires or cgi which makes the film look more authentic to a real fight. The problem with most viewers, is the assumption of fights being beautiful and precise... but that is what happens to ppl's mind when they are use to glam down hollywood action... lol! Despite the deception of saling Tony Jaa as the main character, this is a pretty descent movie considering when it was made and it being a low budget film...

    3 out of 5 stars A little Jaa?.......2007-04-11

This movie, though good in the classic Kung Fu movie set, is no Ong Bak. It features the amazing athelete that is Jaa's mentor , but very little Jaa. This wouldnt be a huge deal but the cover art prominently featuring Jaa is mighty misleading. Neither of the shots ever happens in the movie. If you are a Kung Fu fan and a Jaa freak this is for you, otherwise go watch Ong Bak or Tom Yum Goong.

1 out of 5 stars This movie is a scam!.......2007-02-26

Don't be fooled by the cover. I bought this movie because I am a fan of Ong-Bak and The Protector. As soon as the movie started I was dissappointed. The voice-overs were absolutely horrendous and the captions would not even come close to what you actually heard. But still,I thought, it has Tony Jaa in it so the fighting will probably be good.!!Wrong!! In one of the reviews it says that Tony Jaa was at the end. I never even saw him at any point in the entire movie. As a matter of fact, the pictures on the packaging are from Ong-Bak. On the inside casing it has a picture of Jaa's mentor Rittikrai and on the opposite side it has a picture of him again with Jaa's head pasted on. You can tell because they're wearing the same jacket. A jacket that Rittikrai is the only one to wear in the movie.Tony Jaa's name never even appears in the credits.
Unless you like to buy things that are an absolute lie, stay very far away from this product. Hopefully the companies that have been fooled into selling this product become aware of it and seek retribution on the people who fabricated this scam.

    2 out of 5 stars Good for a laugh.......2007-01-29

This movie was pretty terrible. I never did see Tony Jaa, and he was the reason I bought it. I noticed later that the picture on the back of the DVD case was taken straight from The DVD case of "Ong Bak". The camera quality was terrible, as was the editing and overall acting. There were times when the camera shot would turn a shade of blue, then red, then regular. I can say, however, that my friends and I shared a good laugh over how terrible this movie is.

    2 out of 5 stars Crappy.......2007-06-10

These movies are terrible quality chinese kung-fu. They make you laugh because they are so terribly dubbed. The sound effects and over all quality of these movies are terrible. Buy some real kung-fu movies and don't waste your time on this.

3 out of 5 stars On a 1 to 10 scale, this collection is rated: 4.7.......2007-04-09

The KUNG FU 20 MOVIE PACK offers just a sampling of the hundreds of martial arts movies that have been created around the globe for the past few decades. The performers are skilled, the action intense, and the dialogue somewhat superfluous. This set offers high kicking excitement at an incredibly low price!

Users of a cinematic database graded these titles at an average (on a 1 to 10 scale) of 4.7.

3 out of 5 stars corny in nice way.......2006-11-10

well, it's the 1970s so movie technology went only so far. it's corny in a lot of ways, but some of the stories are fun. it's a kick and it's not a lot to pay considering that you get 20 movies.

    5 out of 5 stars Aprile.......2006-06-26

This is an excellent box gift to buy. There are so many movies to watch. You will enjoy watching them over and over again. For all of you Martial Arts fans this is one to own!!!

3 out of 5 stars So I already reviewed this, but now have to do it again since I edited it, AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.......2006-03-02

I had to edtit this because I wanted to change my review on ninja death after seeing parts 1 and 2. So here I go again, I still have not watched ALL of these, but then again, I never will watch some of them, so I will give it my my best.

Return of the Kungfu Dragon-2/5 stars at best, almost worth watching, I made it all the way through this one cause there were a lot of fights, but NOTHING sttod out to me.

Nija Empire-not going to watch this but if you are a mike egan fan, then you should certainly check this out.

NINJA DEATH 1- easily one of the most ambitious projects ever concieved by a kungfu director. The back of this box actually does a decent job of describinbg this, meaning they didn't lie and say that ti lung and david chiang. So this is easily the best of the 3- part series but you do need to get all 3. The other ones do a nice job of recapping, and if they woulod have said "Last time on Ninja Death", then that would have given a 5/5 for every movie. This movie starts out with a mullet wearing alexander lo rei who is as ripped as ever in thisd. he plays a brothel bouncer, so you get plenty of overly long funny sex scenes in this. But that is not why we are watching this. Ninja'a are coming out again and Alezander Lo Rei has to train with his master to learn a really good fighting style. I could bog you down with the story, but it's better just to try and figure it out for yourself cause it is pretty cool. So Lu Feng is the leader of the ninjas and he is trying to finish what he started like 20 years ago. And don't be fooled by this guy's 4 cent tin foil gold suit thingy because like I said, this guy is Lu Feng. And Feng's scenes are the only one they don't speed up(in part 1 at least), so maybe it is a tribute to him being the centipede. There is also this guy who wears a metal mask and is basically unstoppable. He is definitely my favorite character. Sop like I said you need to get all the parts of this, you can get the 50-pack that has all 20 of these movies and it also has parts 2 and 3. Or you can do what I did and buy the parts 2 and 3 for 99 cents off a ebay, not too bad of a buy.

Deadly Duo- bolo , chiang and ti fo not star in this and the real name is 2 GREAT CAVALIERS. It has beardy, lo lieh, angela mao, john liu, and the second appearence I have ever seen in a movie from the baddie from Jet li's last hero in china. I know what you are saying, "this has to be great", well it actually really sucks and ohter than the final fight is right on par with return of the kungfu dragon. The problem with this movie is that they don't even attempt to make the punches and kicks look like they are actually connecting. So not even worth a watch, but check it out for yourself and if you think it's good than post your opinion, I wold be glad to read it.

Ninja the protector- this movie said it had phillip ko in it in the CREDITS it said that. Mother @*$&#%^ piece of @#($, why do I keep watching these godfrey ho movies, I keep thinking that I am going to see the one good godfey ho film, but it will never happen. So this movie is a signateure splice that is better I guess than most of his ninja films.

HAnds of death-about as good as rage of the master=(wang yu"s saddest effort ever)

Weapons of death-I'm not going to watch it but if some of you're favorite kungfu stars are Eric Lee, Bob Ramos, Ralph Castellanos, then this is your bag baby!

Ninja Champion-HA ha ha ha ha ha

Four robbers- really bad chinese shoot-em-up, credits say that it has Ku Feng in it.

Shaolin Temple- sorry, no fu sheng, or maybe it does have him, but this is easily one of he worst shaolin movies ever, right up there with shaolin posse.

Image of bruce lee- Actually not that bad, I think it has Bruce Li in it. A ton of the most pointless fights ever(until the end at least). BUT THIS MOVIE HAS BOLO IN IT AND I DIDN'T SEE HIM FIGHT, SWEAR WORDS ARE RACING THROUGH MIND RIGHT NOW. I was pretty drunk when I saw this and I might have missed it, btu it would have had to be like a 30 second fight. So pai ying shows up in the final fight and it is pretty good. Easily one of the best bruce lee clone movies, a top tenner.

The snake, the tiger, the crane- I didn't see carter wong in this but it does have lo lieh as a wandering swordsman. Overall this is right along the lines of 2 great cavaliers(deadly duo) in crappiness.

Shaolin deadly kicks- I was actually expecting a lot out of this movie, maybe that's why I hated it. But if you are a dorian tan fan, you will probably like this, I just never liked that guy, he was too slow or something, I just can't put my finger on it.

Chase step by step- a real gem. I would rate this 3rd behind ninja death and shadow ninja as best movies in this "collection" and image of bruce would be a very distant 4th.
So this movie is about 2 circus kids who have to deliver gold a town who is poor and they have all sorts of troubles along the way. It has a really bad picture, but then again I have sat through and enjoyed muvh worse than this. The movie itself I would give around a 3.5/5, but still VERY good. This movie I have to say is pretty unique to what we kungfu buffs are used to, so really worth it if you can get this collection for 7.99 brand new at best buy like I did. And I would pay up to 30 dollars for this(if I already had Ninja death parts 2 and 3, which is actually pretty unlikely.

Bruce Lee:the invincible-I watched this and then image of bruce back to back. And this is the reason I got so drunk, this was so bad, I kept trying to make it better, but it only got worse the more drunk I got. So the movie stars the star of chines hercules and everyone really sucks at kung fu in this. REALLY SUCKS.

The big fight-I mix this up with hands of death, but I didn't finish either of them, because they both sucked.

The street fighter- you all know this sonny chiba movie, I don't like it, but it's watchable anf the picture is watchable too.

Death Machines- Ron Marchini, Michael Chong, Joshua Johnson, the greatest kungfu trio ever. They even rivaled the venoms back in the day. The reason Godfrey Ho is so popular. Easily one of the best movies ever. Also stars Jerry Karney, Tony "the disater" Baster. A true kung fu epic, ho's best work. 5/5 stars.

Infernal Street- only one I haven;t popped in the dvd player out of these.

Shadow Ninja-THE REASON YOU BUY COLLECTIONS LIKE THESE.
This is a true gem, I'll give you a spoiler alert right away because I tend to get carried away when I am talking about my favorite kung fu movies ever. The movie stars Roy Chiou(I think), a scrawny but tough little kid, and SHEN YI-KWAN. I know I butchered his name, but now 99.9% sure that this is the Jet Li's opponent in Tsui Hark's masterpiece, Once upon a time in china. Now if you have been looking for EYE-POPPING Martial Arts action, thenthis will definitely tickle that kungfu spot inside you that constantly needs more and more love the more and better stuff that you see.
So the story starts out with a young scrawny kid who wants to be a police officer. Now this kid has that classic peking opera style that I love and he looks absolutely FLAWLESS in his moves. So he becomes a cop and the partener of Roy Chiou(I think) and Roy doesn't like him at first, but then he gets his ass saved by him and they become good friends. Now I don't want to give away any more of this movie, except a little, but YOU NEED TO SEE THIS MOVIE, AND TO SEE THIS YOU MUST GO BY ANY MEAANS NECESSARY. There is a guy called the white killer in this movie, and I think Michael Mann stole some music from the white kilelr theme for the shootout in heat. Anyway they have this one very stylish shot where the white kilelr kills someone and laeves red blood covering the camera lense, they also do a VERY nice shot of showing an all white body get soaked in red, and a VERY VERY nice revealing scene of the white killer.
    >
The final fight scene for this includes 4 people, 3 of which can fight. And when I say that they can fight, I mean they go at it HARD. These 3 can match up with ANYBODY in terms of on-screen fighting. The end battle is so spectacular that I wish that a word like breathless could describe this properly, but it doesn't. So I will just tell you that I have well over 200 kung fu movies and this rights right near the top of my all-time favorite. i literally watched this like 25 times in like 10 days.
I will never tire of this movie.

So Hell yah you should buy this collection, SHADOW NINJA IS TAKEN FROM A PRETTY GOOD PRINT, and personally , I would pay up to 20 bucks for this movie alone, even if it was a crappy print unlike the one this collection gives you. An ALL TIME CLASSIC.

And if anyone can find out the real name of this, I WILL BE VERY INTERESTED IN HEARING IT. When I looked this up on IMDB, it I clicked on the stars of it and all the same actores are in a movie called the KILLER WEARS WHITE, so if anybody has seen this sequel or prequel, PLEASE POST IT HERE AND LET ME KNOW.

5 out of 5 stars Shogun gets his belt, Fedor proves he's best!.......2007-06-23

This is the Final round of the 2005 middleweight tournament. The two semi-fianls are Wandelei Silva v Ricardo Arona and Mauricio Shogun Rua v Alistair Overeem. Both fights are good, and one of the CuteBox boys goes down to defeat. Also, Fedor takes on CroCop for the Heavyweight belt. Not a bad show at all.

4 out of 5 stars The shogun show........2007-03-30

Like I've said, Pride does it right. The the longtime Pride 205lb. champ Wanderlei Silva is beaten! It's his first loss at 205 since losing to Tito Ortiz in the UFC five years before.Ricardo Arona's jubiliation is short lived, as Silva's teammate and protege Mauricio Shogun Rua destroys him in the final match. After defeating four of the best middleweights in Pride (Rampage,Rogerio Nogueira, Overeem and Arona), Shogun establishes himself as "the man" at 205.The Shogun-Overeem semi final match is full of fireworks, while the Arona-Silva match is more tactical. However, both matches are extremely entertaining.
The Fedor-CroCo match was highly anticipated, and although not a barn-burner, it's still a good match between two of the top heavies in the world. This is one to add to your collection.

5 out of 5 stars FEDOR THE RUSSIAN EXPERIMENT!!!!.......2007-03-29

This DVD has to be one of the best is fully loaded with quality fights. Fedor vs Cro Cop is a classic, Fedor is unhuman he is without question the best fighter in the world yes including ALL UFC fighters. Also you will get to see Mauricio "shogun" Rua this kid is amazing and he is the next superstar in MMA

    4 out of 5 stars Excellent fights.......2007-03-27

The final Conflict Championships have 3 excellent fights especially Emelianenko vs Cro COp. Buy it worth every dollar

4 out of 5 stars Finally, Fedor vs Cro Cop!.......2007-01-13

It is a fight that we have waited to see for so long and it happened. Fedor Emelianenko battled Mirko Cro Cop in one of the best Heavyweight Title fights in Pride's history. That match alone is worth the price of this event. You even get to see the ever exciting Mauricio "Shogun" Rua develop his rise to the top in the exciting finals of the Middleweight Tournament.

Those are pretty much the highlights to this Pride event. With that said, it is worth the time to check out.

This two-video set by Billy Blanks includes two 30-minute Tae-Bo workouts. Although they're "basic" by Tae-Bo standards, they're not wimpy. In the first workout, Blanks starts with a warm-up and stretch, then he takes you to the floor for a killer muscle-conditioning routine for the abdominals, legs, and buttocks. Then you get onto your feet for a kickboxing routine. Blanks pre-teaches the moves so you understand the technique. The second workout keeps you on your feet the whole time, jabbing and kicking. Blanks introduces multiple moves slowly, one part at a time. In both videos, he motivates you to push yourself but work out safely--he gives careful instructions about form and technique. This is a good video set if you've had some Tae-Bo experience, need guidance to do the moves correctly, want to avoid complex combinations, and want to monitor your intensity. --Joan Price

I wore out two copies of the Basic and then moved onto these two, which I've just purchased a second copy of (because I will ultimately wear them out as well). I bought the four "Boot Camp" series and absolutely hated them. They were like calisthenics, not TaeBo. I am overweight (size 14-18 depending on the month) as a result of early-onset menopause. In addition, I have a heart valve defect, broken bone in my left foot, serious carpal tunnel in my right hand/wrist, and a rotator cuff injury to both shoulders. That being said, I have a Pilates machine, Total Gym Elite, and various yoga gear. I regularly use the Pilates machine, do yoga, and TaeBo. These two programs are hard enough for me that my shirt is sopping wet after I work out (25 minutes), but easy enough that I don't worry about re-injuring anything or passing out. When I read the reviewers review these two and call them "basic", I'm rather surprised and irritated. If you're a gym addict, stay in the gym. Not everyone wants to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger and the women who do the Boot Camp series and some of the other TaeBo sets look very Arnold. These two give you a nice healthy-shaped derriere, while firming your thighs, arms, and legs. The warm-up is great and he starts you off with the moves that won't injure you, working up to the harder stuff. Both programs are 25 minutes long with a short cool down at the end (great TaiChi moves too). I fell down a flight of concrete stairs in the winter and literally broke a half-inch piece of bone in the middle of my left foot. My orthopedist (bone doctor) said if I hadn't been doing TaeBo regularly, I probably would have suffered permanent injury and never walked normally again. Now I just have a little piece of bone floating around inside my foot that rarely bothers me. I can't say enough for the three TaeBo programs I've mentioned. I just ordered two other TaeBo programs from Billy Blanks and am hoping that he returns to the original style of TaeBo rather than the Boot Camp crap. Ignore the reviewers that say this is easy, it's not. Ignore the reviewers that say it's dangerous or too hard, it's not. Whatever you can't do, you just stand and watch until they do something you can do. Eventually, you can do it all.

    4 out of 5 stars Um.... I like it?.......2006-08-07

Yeah, this is a pretty good work out. It makes you sweat. The 8 minute work out will make you have a heart attack if you are not careful! I liked how there were heavy people and older people along with the super in shape people. I suspect that this work out has good results. I myself have only done it three times, so I wouldn't REALLY know. But after those three times, I felt fantastic! It's worth a shot.

5 out of 5 stars Billy, you saved my life!.......2006-07-09

I bought this DVD almost three years ago. These were the first two Tae Bo workouts I ever did. At that time I was fat and unhealthy and depressed. Tae Bo helped me pull myself back up. There is something about the music and the moves (and Billy!) that pulled me in so that I WANTED TO WORKOUT!!! I found myself arranging my day around my workout. Now I have become a lifelong exerciser and am addicted to kickboxing. You have to love the workout or you won't do it, and for me Tae Bo is easy to love because it is so fun.

After I had been doing these two Basic workouts for a couple of months, I started the Get Ripped Advanced (awesome workouts!!) and then later I got the Advanced Live 1-12 workouts off eBay (even more awesome!!). Now I have about 30 or so Tae Bo workouts. I cannot say enough good things about Tae Bo. It changed my life.

I see these workouts as a great starting point for someone wanting to get fit. If you have never had any martial arts instruction, consider getting the Instructional workout first so you will have good form and not hurt yourself. Otherwise, have fun!

5 out of 5 stars Tae-bo "Get Ripped II" Basic Workout will get you in shape!.......2006-06-22

I bought the Tae-bo "Get Ripped II" Basic series last week, and I love it. Tae-bo "Get Ripped II" is now my primary workout program with a little yoga here and there. I found the pace a little fast in the beginning, but since then I have eventually learned the moves and can now match the pace.

I use the shorter 8-minute version as either a lighter workout (later in the day), or when I haven't got the time in the morning for the longer 20 minute workout (which is closer to 30 when you factor in the warm-up and cool-down stretches).

This is a great workout for anyone who is really, really serious about losing weight and staying in shape.

    I highly recommend it!

    5 out of 5 stars A great workout!.......2006-02-08

This is a great workout. I initially bought thr Get Ripped Advanced workout and after I embarassed myself to no return, I decided to start with something a little easier. I am very pleased with this workout. It is not so easy that you will breeze through it. After a few workouts, I have yet to finish the tape without stopping a bunch of times. (Which Billy says is OK). The only problem that I can find is that Billy loses count a lot. He will say one more set and you sometimes actually end up doing three more sets. You can look at that as a plus though; you are going the extra mile! At the beginning of the tape there are commercials of some sort, which I fast foward through. I dont know if you can skip them on a DVD player however. Either way, I am VERY pleased with this workout and would highly recommend to beginners of all ages.

    5 out of 5 stars A Great Deal--Highly Recommended.......2007-02-27

As others have noted, the Zatoichi movie series is a classic--outstanding and immensely enjoyable. This collection is a good value. The DVD reproduction seems to be first-rate (each movie looks better than I remember seeing it decades ago), and the subtitles are very well done: Not only are the translations good, but they appear below the wide-screen picture rather than on top of the scene. Occasionally there's even a little note displayed above the picture defining a term, such as "palanquin" ('kago' in Japanese).

I have one small complaint. Each of the 7 movies is individually shrinkwrapped with 3 of those incredibly annoying antitheft stickers. I paid good money for the collection, so why am I treated like a potential thief and made to waste time every time I open one? That's just plain rude. I could have used Zatoichi's help getting the DVDs open for the first time, and had he decided to pay a call on the packagers, I wouldn't have tried to stop him.

Warning: This collection is a hook. Once you see all 7 movies, you'll want to see the other 19, and individually they'll set you back a good deal more. Oh, well!

I'm hooked on Zatoichi now! I'm going to have to look for the rest of the collection, these movies were that much fun :)

    5 out of 5 stars A Zatoichi starter set.......2006-09-20

Zatoichi is an institution in Japanese film, almost like James Bond or Star Trek films, but with the difference that the same actor has played the main character since the series inception, and with an amazing consistency of quality from the original film in 1962 through the final installment, #26, in 1989. Shintaro Katsu played many roles in his life, but in the minds of hearts of everyone who loves samurai films he will always be Zatoichi.

This boxset contains seven DVDs, all from the tail end of the Zatoichi series when Katsu had taken over the production duties on the series. They are all quality films, with "The Festival of Fire" and "Zatoichi meets Yojimbo" being among the best of the entire run. Its a great price for seven DVDs as well, which would cost much more if bought individually.

For those starting out with Zatoichi, the films are diverse enough to give a good feel for the flavor of the series. Funny films and serious films, they all have the charm and appeal that only Shintaro Katsu could bring to the table in a samurai action film. And this is some seriously cool samurai action. Katsu was a great actor, and a great swordsman as well.

The films in this collection are:

Zatoichi #16 - the Outlaw - A complicated story with a vast cast of characters. Directed by Satsuo Yamamoto, who also made the 1968 ghost story "Botan Doro."

Zatoichi #20 - Meets Yojimbo - A highly anticipated showdown between Zatoichi and Toshiro Mifune playing his famous Yojimbo character. Directed by acclaimed samurai film master Kihachi Okamoto, best known for "Sworld of Doom" and "Kill!"

Zatoichi #21 - The Festival of Fire - Considered one of the best entries in the series, directed by the original Zatoichi director Kenji Misumi.

Zatoichi #22 - Meets the One-Armed Swordsman - Zatoichi meets his Chinese counterpart, Wang. Directed by Kimiyoshi Yasuda, who also made the original "100 Monsters: Great Yokai War"

Zatoichi #23 - At Large - A more humorous flick, Zatoichi delivers a baby! Directed by Kazuo Mori, who also made "The Return of Daimajin."

Zatoichi #24 - In Desperation - Directed by Shintarô Katsu, Zatoichi himself, this is a darker, more disturbing entry.

Zatoichi #25 - Conspiracy - Zatoichi meets his long-lost sister. A guest appearance by Takashi Shimura of "Seven Samurai." Also directed by Kimiyoshi Yasuda.

5 out of 5 stars Shintaro Katsu: 1000 Oscars would not suffice........2006-08-18

This guy's acting is beyond this world. The stories and landscapes are incredible. Maybe the film-making technique is a little rusty some times, but in the whole it is effective.

3 out of 5 stars If you must have all of the Zatoichi films.......2005-09-21

A well priced collection of the less wonderful story lines. Zatoichi is always the great blind swordsman but there is less atmosphere and character development in the films included in this collection.
